Save for web crashes - Win7 64bit, Photoshop CC 14

Intermittently save for web and other function (usually related to saving) crash. I'm running a brand new Win7 64bit box with latest version of CC - Photoshop CC 14. It's crash list thing since I first got Photoshop - so it's not something new, it's been doing this since I have installed the software. I have no 3rd party plugins installed and Photoshop doesn't give me a crash report when it does crash.

Generate Preview - Save for Web Crashes Photoshop

Ok so when using Photoshop CS3 for web use i usually save for the web and preview in firefox, Now i had a few issues with photoshop, and so reinstalled my system, However since this now when i go to save for web, then preview image, Photoshop freezes during the Generate Preview.

Save for Web crashing Photoshop Elements 11!

I am trying to get some images ready for my work who is developing an app. I am trying to save the images and pages for web 'Save for Web', however whenever I click save it crashing the entire programme. Has anyone else had this or does anyone know how to solve it?

Is Organizer crashing for you with every launch?
Can you try these workarounds:
1. Delete the Organizer preferences from:
On MAC: //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/. Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from this location.
On Win: Type %appdata% in Start>Run. Traverse to \Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\11.0\Organizer(on Win 7). Rename psa.prf file.
Re-launch the Organizer.
2. If your catalog is not a new fresh catalog, it might be because of some issues in that. While launching Organizer, Press the Shift key. This will open Catalog manager dialog. Select your catalog and go for provided options for "Repair" and "Optimize".
Let me know if none of these work out for you.

Save for Web crashes Ps CC Yosemite

Another day, another time consuming Adobe issue.
This is consistently happening since the Yosemite upgrade. Once I'm inside the Save for Web dialog box – regardless of the weight and image source/file type – it dramatically slows down everything inside Photoshop. After clicking anywhere the cursor even sticks to the hand icon long after releasing. Eventually, the App crashes.
Anyone else? Thanks.

If you do a forum search, you'll find a whole bunch of reports of all kinds of bugs in Yosemite.
The answer to most of those have been to downgrade to a more stable version of the OS until Apple fixes the bugs. Nothing Adobe can do about that.
Note: I do not work for Adobe. These are user forums.

"Save For Web" crashes PS Elements

"Save For Web" does not function on Photoshop Elements. It's shocking that such a basic thing as this crashes the software!!
My whole reason for buying PS Elements was for Web design. Now I have $100 worth of software that is no use to me whatsoever.
There have been no updates to PS Elements in the month+ since I downloaded this software from the Apple App Store.

Well, just FYI there are never any updates to the app store version, so you should keep that in mind. You're stuck with an older version of ACR, for example, that you can't update. Adobe so far has never bothered to release any update for the app store versions, probably because apple's rules mean they'd need to to do a complete new version of PSE--they aren't allowed to sell a version that updates directly from adobe the way the other versions do.
Now, as for your Save for Web problem. First go to the preferences>general and click this button, then restart PSE:
If that doesn't do it, go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

That library is hidden in 10.7 and 10.8. To see it, option-click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there, in 10.7 or 10.8, go to the Saved Application States and delete any for PSE.
Repair permissions and try again.

Save for Web crashes - CS2

Hi there!
I dont know why, I changed nothing on my system, recently I can't save for Web anymore. At the point I click the menue-button, the program shuts down, no chance to save anything.
I installed it completely new (the whole CS2 suite!) and didn't took over any presets.
It's running on Windows 7

Save for web crash - Illustrator CC

I have tried to save for web on Illustrator CC but it just lags and then i have to force quit.
I tried to use save for web on Illustrator CS6 and it works fine, so im not too sure whats causing the problem.
Can anyone help me? I dont get a crash report so im not sure where i should look for a problem?

Cannot save for web - unknown system error Photoshop CS5

I've attached the error I recieve here: http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/5624/screenshot20101027at122.png
What happens is I create any new document, and when I try to save for web it comes up with "unknown system error has occurred'. Prior to this it worked perfectly (pretty much just 2 hours ago)! Also, my Photoshop CS4 stil works properly. I've been searching for solutions but nothing has come up in regards to this particular error.
I'm running the CS5 Extended edition suite, on 10.6.4 if this helps.

Save for web really slooooow in Photoshop CC

Hi all,
Since one of the last updates, whenever I try to save an image using the Save for web function, the dialog screens take a lot of time to appear (worked normally before). I am not using large images, just 1100x700 px approximately that I reduced to that size for a website. But when I try to save them for web, the first dialog screen takes a while to appear, and when I hit Save, that save screen also takes a long time to show up.
It doesn't happen always, but most of the time, and it is really annoying when I have to save a lot of images, it makes me loose a lot of time. Sometimes when I am saving a series of images, with the first ones it goes slow, then works normally with some, and then again slowww.
My machine is an Intel i7 with 16gb of memory running on Windows 8. I hope you can help me with this issue.

Yes, sorry, forgot to clarify that. I am saving it to my local hard drive, that is why it is so strange.

Save for web not working in photoshop CS4

When I upgraded to Lion it seems the 'save for web' capability in CS4 produces a 'this operation cannot be completed error'.......would be grateful for any ideas....

Save for Web crashes in CS5

I have tried deleting the preferences and it still crashes when I try to save the image for the web.
I am wondering if this is just a bug.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
I am running CS5 under Windows XP.

Based on my experience, Windows can be very rational and repeatable (but in all fairness it may well take the help of a computer guru to keep it running that way).
While not being able to reproduce the problem on demand makes it more difficult to investigate, just assuming it's "magic" and leaving it be almost assures you it will be back.
The most important thing is to never allow something that goes wrong to be left unexplained. There's always a reason and there's virtually always a fix or workaround. The more such unexplained things you allow to accumulate the less reliable your system becomes.
If / when your crash comes back, or if you want to investigate further, please provide the info requested. Your system retains its logs, so you can always look in the Windows System Event Log and get more information about what crashed. Such reports are valuable in determining what went wrong, and can immediately point to, for example, things like drivers that need updating. Perhaps just increasing your familiarity with just what you're expecting it to do and with what images you're providing as input by documenting it here could help you to nail down the problem.

Photoshop CS3 "Save for web" doesn't work

Hi everybody. I noticed one weird thing. When I want to use "Save for web" function on my Photoshop CS3 to save some jpg file and reduce size, the dialog window just doesn't appear. I clicked Save for web and nothing happen. The window of the file a wanted to save just get grey. I'm new in CS3 an it worked well in my CS2. BTW I use MacBook Pro and CS3 for Mac.

Deleting the SFW prefs worked for me.
My Photoshop CS3 was working fine till I (probably unwisely) tinkered with system files to free up some space.
Re-installed CS3 from scratch but still couldnt "Save for web".
Then I found this tip suggesting deleting the SFW prefs and BINGO! Back in acion.

Option help in Save for Web & Devices dialog

When down sampling images for use in a DPS folio, what settings should be chosen in the Save for Web & Devices dialog in Photoshop?

I need to figure out why my trim option is always grayed out. It's saved in PSD format, yet the option to trim the transparent pixels is grayed out. why is that? what am I doing wrong? I must have to change something.

IPTC issues with Save for Web

I have images with the copyright notice field, copyright status, provider and source fields filled in.
When I do a save for web, I'm trying to adjust the IPTC data that gets saved but nothing I do seems to work. On thumbnails, I don't need any of that data but I can't get it removed. No matter what I select, there's always stuff in the copyright notice field.
Similarly, if I try to simply change the copyright status field and leave everything else as is, I usually lose (data gets wiped out) provider and source and I get extra data put into the copyright URL field which wasn't there before.
I also get the file data cannot be read error when opening up these files sometimes because photoshops seems to mess up how it writes the IPTC data. Image data seems file, it's only when photoshop fills in the copyright url with the same data from the copyright notice without asking me.
In CS2, I had to use ImageReady because it would wipe out all the data and then I just used iView to easily put back in the 3 fields I was using. Now that IR is gone, I figure I need to migrate this to CS3 but no matter what combination of options I select, it seems metadata handling is horribly inconsistent.
Can anyone tell me how it works? I've tried making a script step to set the data I want, I've tried working with an image with the fields the way I want them and then doing the save for web so it records the data I want, I've tried both with and without the include XMP option but I can't seem to get anything to work properly.
Edit: Didn't make it clear but I'm trying to record a batch action where I scale images to 6 different sizes and then do a save for web at each size.

Depending on your use of the image in context, won't the transparent strip "disappear?"
The only solution I know is to open it in Photoshop and manually crop out the transparent strip. AI or Save for Web also seems to antialias the edge of free-standing art over a transparent background. I just make the artwork slightly larger than the final cropped size, save for web, then crop in Photoshop.
