hello, you can save a pdf with a name that is taken from a textfield

To save a file with name taken from a field value you'll need a folder level script.
I made a sample you can work with.

Why does Illustrator CS4 save pdfs with clipping paths and make rasters of gradient areas

I am on a IMAC and upgraded to 10.6.8 Jan 2014. I am using CS4 Illustrator to create with. When i save my work as a pdf then reopen the pdf in Ill to make changes, the whole page has:
A.) Multiple clipping paths around it
B.) Most text has now become outlined. Not editable anymore.
C.) Gradient areas have multiple clipping paths of the single gradient area
D.) The gradient areas now become rasterized.
This is very frustrating as now all of my marketing files, some 300+, are worthless. I don't know where to look anymore to find the problem.

I have the presets as you have shown. I had been editing the supplied items as you suggested. Then figured i should ask the questions of those who are better than I.
But still a bit confused as to why the new save places clipping paths around the document.

I do a save as "pdf" in the format pull down tab. I save to a folder on the hard drive. Where is the "Illustrator editability" check box? I presumed it is in Acrobat some where
but i seem to be lost.
It is in Illustrator's Save Adobe PDF dialog, which pops up before the saved file is written.

Sorry i didn't mention this, but this seems to have occurred when using images and text from provided pdfs.
That's a critical fact. If you didn't do the original save, the above is moot, and it's too late to exercise any control over the save process. Someone else failed to save for editability. The only thing you can do is clean up/repair the content, (release clipping masks, rebuild rasterized elements, expand objects, etc.), and save correctly as AI. Then, if necessary, re-save as PDF with the correct settings.

Save pdf with crop and bleed marks in Photoshop cc 2014

I used to save PDF for print with crop marks in Photoshop by setting them up when using "save as". Don't have that option any more in CC 2014. Is it a new way to do it or I have something turned off?

I can get crop marks by using the "Print" menu and printing to PDF. My question is: How do you handle bleeds when printing crop marks in the "Save" or "Print" stage? Aren't the crop marks placed at the file extents?

How do I save the file so my brother/client can start typing in different

Create your form.
go to advanced menu
choose the item about Reader Rights
when open set what you want Reader to be allowed to do.
Once set and saved the can fillout, save, email but they can not change the actual form itself just the contents they added.
Not there is a cap of 500 hundred instances per different PDF.

I have a Ai with severel layers. I want to save only a few in a PDF and make the other invisible. How comes they all show up sometimes anyway??

When you print you see these options.
Change to visible, and only the visible layers will make be shown in your pdf.
Think of the "Print Layers" should really be called "Print & PDF Layers"

Installation of nitro seems to be o.k. Maybe i have the settings wrong in Nitro?
When i go to print in PM7 i am asked to Save and then get an error message from PM7 "General printer failure".
In PM 7 there are several options and i undoubtedly have one of them wrong. When choosing Nitro as the Printer
then i must select a PPD. There are 3 PPD choices and i have tried all of them:
Color General Adobe PDF 3015.102 General
Tried using the standard Print and the Export options but it was no go. So i've downloaded NitroPro and it appears
as a printer option in PM7 but neither does it work.

Yes it's fun but not when you use Pagemaker on a completely unsupported
system. Either find yourself an old WinXP box or move to a new application.
If InDesign isn't your cup of tea, check out Scribus or Serif Page Plus.

Save pdf with notes

I received a pdf for review, and it has "comments allowed" in properties - but I cannot save the document directly after I add notes and highlights. I have to save to a new location. It works, but it gets tiresome to have to use "save as" every time I need to save the document after adding notes.
Is there a way to work around this at my end (that doesn't include converting the pdf), or do I need to ask the one who created the document to do something? If so, what do I need to ask them to do?

If you have not saved the document and Acrobat closed then it's not possible to retrieve the lost data on the pdf file.

Save Pdf with email received to archive it in my ...

I receive file PDF in my email box. I want to archive it for use off line. If I use adobe acrobat app I find it but impossibile send with email. ( incredible!!!) How is possible open this file in skydive for example? Or in drop box? Without use my PC? In pad/iphone OS is possible open the file in different app ( Goodreader or ebook or other) and archive in the phone (or tablet) Is possible with my Lumia 800 in windows market place exist a app similar to Goodreader? and use it offline? Problem with different browsers when I save pdf

Hi I have server side application which open some pdf form and populate it with values and some javascript(I use FDFToolkit to do that). A client connects with a browser to my server opens the form in the browser window and after that saves the form as pdf to his local computer. When the client uses InternetExplorer 7 the pdf form on the client computer(the form is open with acrobat 9 pro) works exactly as in the browser window but when the form is saved with Firefox 3.0.3 the form is open without the values and javascript in it. Can someone help ?

There are many free converters on the web. Also, if you are working with
Office 2007, you can save as pdf natively.
But you didn't give much detail - are you trying to do this automatically?
What's the workflow that has you considering C++ as the route to your
solution?

Is this an actual field, or just some piece of static text somewhere? Either way, you can't do it using the Split Document command. You'll need to use a custom-made script to read the value of this "field" and use it when extracting pages from the file.

Save Forms Fields PDF with information un-editable

We created a simple 5 form field PDF invoice for a client to edit and send out to customers. They want to be able to edit the fields, but then save the resulting PDF with the input information to be un-editable but the end customer they are sending the invoice to. Is this possible?

Will the client be using Acrobat or just Reader? If just Reader, you can lock the fields after they are filled-in by making them read-only, which will require a script. You should also set the default value of each field to the current value of the field, which prevents clearing the form if the user resets the form. There's an older topic from several months ago that discusses this in more detail. If you can't find it, post again and I'll try.
If they will be using Acrobat, a better approach is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field apperances to regular page contents, removing the form fields in the process. You can flatten fields with Acrobat using JavaScript, PDF Optimizer, or Preflight. Post again if you need help with this.

Hi, I successfully make the vi to insert itmes from listbox1 to listbox2.Whenever I select itmes 1 in listbox 1 it display same elected item in listbox2 , but it not appending the items in listbox2.Like If 1 is selected in listbox1 then 1 will display , next time after saving when I selct next item like 3 then in listbox 2, 1 is replaced by 3,it dont come in second row of listbox2.Hope I am able to explain.\

Problems with Safari to download and save pdf files

I used to download pdf with no problems at all, right now the download window does not open at all and tha option Save as is acting like the file is being saved but no pdf file appears in the downloads folder or in any other folder select. I am new in safari, and I am not a very well internet instructed person, please help.

How to remove "save pdf file as" dialog in startdoc with adobe acrobat 6

We set up pdfWriter as default printer and hope to generate pdf file with startdoc call. The existing code worked great on Adobe Acrobat 5. However, after we upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 6(complete install), the same code behaved differently. Somehow, startdoc always popped out a "save pdf file as" dialog box and ask for the file path but ignored the input path parameter(the pdf file was generated at the path that user manully input in).
W do not like this dialog box at all and expect silent action. How to remove this annoying dialog box and make the old code working (taking the parameter as pdf file path)?

I accessed to a website from my uni library computer using my student account and download a pdf file in there. However, that pdf file contains a line of words saying "Accessed by ... University Library on 30 Mar 2007". This line is printed vertically and on the left side of the page.
Do you know how to remove that line? I think the website just embedded that line into the file.
