Hello,
There is a perfect example for you in the NI Developer Zone that is called Save to Excel.
If you want more information about using Excel with labview. you can have a look at:

Automatically open, save and close excel?
I need import data from Excel to SQL.
Now, I use tSQL to directly read the excel files and transform to the SQL table.
As the user Excel is not a good format for SQL to read, I need use formula to transform the excel to be a SQL readable format.
Now, I add a sheet to copy the data from the sheet which user input the data and then ask the user to copy the excel to a specific location for import.
However, this will make the data in the excel double and result a large excel file.
I am thinking if it is possible to create a excel to use formula to copy the data from another excel.
Then, I need find some method to open that excel, let the content refresh from the source excel, save and close it.
Then I can directly use this excel for data import.
Is there any simple way to do so? I don't know marco much...
IvanNo formula could do this (Automatically open, save and close excel).
You need to recode a marco or write a macro. Why donot you ask in msdn?
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=exceldev&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
example:
Sub auto_open()
Application.OnTime Now + TimeValue("00:01:00"), "wswx"
End Sub
Sub
wswx() If Not ThisWorkbook.Saved
Then ThisWorkbook.Save
ThisWorkbook.Close
End Sub

Hi,
I want to save data in Excel? But how?
Can somebody send me a VI?
Thank youIf you want to do excel formatting and really have full functionality in Excel without having to buy the reports toolkit, you can use the Excel ActiveX controls. If you have Excel installed you can use ActiveX references to do anything you want excel to do for you. Use an automation reference and select the Excel class. I forget what its called, but you should be able to find what does what without too much problem. You just use methods from the reference. It takes a bit of work to figure out what everything does, but I have written huge formatting vi's that open excel, format cells, run macros, and save files in excel and then close excel when its done. It all depends on how fancy you want to get.

Download to Excel is hiding rows in a pivot view
Hello ,
When downloading a report to excel from OBIEE Dashboard , certain rows are getting hidden . For instance , I have total 15 rows in my pivot view and when I download that report into excel format , the rows from 8-13 are not showing up . After 7th row I see 14th row .
But when I download the same report from Answers I can see all rows in the pivot view .
I tried looking at the formatting options of the pivot view and everything is normal . This is happening only with this particular report , other reports in dashboard download normally .
Please let me know if anybody has ideas .
Thank you
Karthikkarthik,
From where ur downloading to excel ...use the download option available at "preview " button ,if you are using the same go with report links download button option
Last option create a new report (without any filters in case if u have)

SSRS 2008 R2 - Missing Data when Exporting to Excel or CSV (Row Count is 500)
Hey Folks,
When exporting SSRS 2008 R2 report to an csv or excel file not all the rows are being exported. Any suggestions on why this is occurring. The number of rows is less then 500 and it seems to be a pretty straight forward export. Any help is
greatly appreciated. Inherited this and not sure if this would be configuration issues or something else. It is happening on a number of reports.
Thanks.Hi Humbly,
According to your description, when you export report into CSV or Excel format, some rows are missing.
In your scenario, since you are missing data “rows” in your exported file, we are guessing if you have any visibility setting like toggle which hide those records. It’s possible that you have set toggle or visibility in your report. After exporting
Excel/CSV, some data might not appear properly. In SSRS 2008 R2, it has reported this kind of issue about data missing after exporting. However, those scenarios are not exactly same as your issue. It mostly turns out be conflict between data and “layout render”
and related to DataElementOutput property. DataElementOutput property controls export behavior, it indicates which report item data should appear in Excel/CSV render. For more information, please refer to this article: Reporting Services:
Why aren’t all my report columns exporting to CSV and/or XML?.
As we tested in our environment(SSRS 2008 R2), no matter what we export into CSV or Excel, we get same results as in BIDS . So I would like to know your report design structure. If possible, please provide some screenshots about results in BIDS and Excel/CSV
render extension results. It may help us find out the root cause of your issue. Thank you.

How to forbidden to save report in Excel files
Hi,
I use Edge BO 3.0.
In WEB Intelligence report, is it possible to forbiden to users to save data in an excel file ?
I created an acces level and I denied for Webi report the rules :
Export the report data
save as Excel files
save as CSV files
I just allow users to save as PDF files.
I created a group and give this acces level to this group for Web Intelligence application.
But my users can allways save data in Excel files...
What's wrong ?
Thank you
Michel (from FRANCE)Hi,
Following solution might help you to resolve the issue.
In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, users can save Web Intelligence reports as portable document format (PDF), Excel, comma-separated value (CSV), and other formats to their local computer. It is necessary to restrict this right for a group of users by disabling the Save As option.
Resolution
Here are the steps:
Log on to the Central Management Console as administrator.
Click Folder > folder containing report > Rights tab > Add/Remove.
Add the appropriate group. Click OK. The User Folders window appears.
Click Advanced in the Net Access Column.
Clear the <group name> will inherit rights from its parent groups option.
Clear the <folder name> will inherit rights from its parent folders option.
Expand the Web Intelligence Document section.
Click the Explicitly Denied option for the right to Export the report"s data.
Click Apply > OK.
When the Web Intelligence report is opened, the users will no longer see the Save As option. -
Hello,
I have a matrix with strings and numbers. I want to save it in excel 95 format. How can I do that.
e.g.
q a b
c 1 3
d 2 4
thanksHello Sai Kit,
have you tried to save this as csv-file? That's independent of any excel-version, you can even load it into your favorite text editor.
Have a look at the spreadsheet-vi's (file and string palette).

I am trying to save an excel file in 2010 version but I am getting the following error:
Errors were detect while saving <File Name>.Microsoft excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make repairs in the file, Click continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.
On clicking continue, I am asked to save it again and then finally I get the following error:
Excel encountered errors during save. However, excel was able to minimally save your file to <file Location>.
This file is saved successfully in 2007 version of the software.
Any help on this error would be highly appreciatedHi,
Based on my research, this behavior can occur under any of the following conditions:
You save an Excel file to a network drive where you have restricted permissions.
You save an Excel file to a location that does not have sufficient drive space.
The connection to the Excel file has been lost.
There is a conflict with an antivirus software program.
You save an Excel file that is shared.
The 218-character path limitation has been exceeded when you save an Excel file.
The Transition Formula Evaluation feature is turned on in Excel.
The file was created from a template that contains embedded objects.
To troubleshoot an Excel save issue, you can refer to the following links:

Hope it helps

Nothing worked. I can't save my file, and I'm late for a meeting. I want a support person to call me. I shouldn't have to pay to fix your bugs.
I've used this file for over a month, and it was working fine until today.I cannot save, or use excel files, just view them. I cannot even open up the "file" button in an excel sheet, or use macros or anything that should work. I shut down my computer this morning, and started it up an hour later, and now the sheet
won't work.
Is this because of an update microsoft just put out? If so, how can I disable it?

Hi gurus,
I need save a big table (MCHB) on excel.
At the moment the best way that Ive know is extract records on excel file is go in table with a little materials at a time (then a lot of steps).
In background I think that isnt possible extract files but just images.
Do you know any quickly way to save it on excel?
Thanks in advance,
JuanHii
what you can do is ... use tcode SE16N and give the table name. Remove the number of results & execute. Wish is all yours whether you want to excute in background. Even this option is available there. That result you can transfer to local file in excel format.
hope it will help you.
