Saving data in the portal

Hi Experts,
i have a requirement from the business department to open a word document in the portal, change it and save it directly in the
portal, so that the next one can open it and see the changes. I know how i can make a file available in the portal. But when you call the file and open it, you can change it und save only on your local computer but not in the portal. Does anyone have an idea how i can do that?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Ali

HI Alians,
Will like to inform you some basic details for your required scenario and the reply posted to your question.
1st ) Edit online options works for .txt file and .html files only.
2nd) It is a the standard functionality of browser (When you open PDF/txt/html/jpeg/pngs File, it will open in browser but when you open Excel, WOrd or any other type of file, it will prompt you to download.)
It means any file not recognized by browser will be prompted by browser to be downloaded into local computer.
The files which are opened directly by browser( PDF/txt/html/jpeg/pngs) will be downloaded into temp.
Soln:
Let the user download  and save the MS word file.
Provide the READ WRITE AUTHORIZATION to user so he/she can Change the contents of the file.
Overwrite to the same location.
If you have any other soln. then kindly let me know.

  • To extract portal activity data from the portal into Solution manager.

    HI all,
          I need to extract the portal activity data from the portal into Solution  Manager BI and then later on into the SAP BW in order to generate BEx reports on the portal activity data. I need to know about the configuartions that are needed to be done on the portal side and the solution manager side so as to get the data into SolMan from portal.  Waiting for a response.
    Thanks and regards,
    Divya.

    Hi
    In solution manager you can do the  analysis of the ADC data files (Portal activity reporting) as as part of the End-to-End Diagnostics (Portal Activity Reporting tab in the End-to-End Workload Analysis).
    Will you see the Portal Activity Reporting tab under End-to-End Workload Analysis?
    by default PAR in SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 is deactivated ,since we requires
    some manual configuration of the Activity Data Collector.
    please follow the attached config guide in the SAP note for configuration.

    If you are familiar with java then you can use the usual jdbc / odbc driver to connect. Do search the forums, this has already been discussed many times before, if you encounter a road block do post back.....
    You can also refer to this blog, though it talks about CE 7.1 the concepts remain the same, the configuration screens might differ - Connecting an Application to an External Database in SAP NW CE 7.1

  • Possible to access data outside the portal?

    Hi all,
    I’m currently checking the features available in the adobe forms.
    Is it possible to dynamically load an adobe form (for example drop downs)
    with data outside the Portal,
    Using maybe Web services?
    And send data from the adobe form to the portal by webservices,
    without having to upload the form,
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance for the help.
    Best regards,
    Paulo Ruivo

    In Designer in the SAP development environment, you can specify a Data Connection based on a WSDL (Web service). If you tie the update of these fields to e.g. a button, you can update the related fields in the form at runtime.
    In general, you don't send data to the Portal, which is basically a frame in which you run different applications. The data is usually sent to the SAP db through an application using the form. You can use HTTP/Web services to submit data to the SAP application/database, but this is independent of the Portal.

  • Saving data in the Interactive Planning Data

    Hi,
    I want to save data in the interactive Planning and for some key figures it says that the data is saved successfully but the data is not saved when I returne to the Interactive Planning.
    What can it be?
    I have looked for possible causes, but I have not identify it
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    Are the key figures that you are trying to save data for "auxillary key figures" . If so they will retain their value only till your are in the interactive planning screen , once you back out and come in again you will not be able to see the values that you put earlier. Check that and update me

  • How to store custom application data in the Portal

    Hello,
    Is there a mechanism in the Portal whereby you can put custom application data into persistence and then retrieve it again? I don't want to use the database to store the data. I was hoping there is some API to such a mechanism that will allow you to do this.
    Of course, I also mean that I want to persist the data beyond the lifetime of a session - i.e. when the user logs off and comes back later, I want to retrieve the data again. Also, I do not want to use a KM repository, because I do not want to make the application KM-dependent.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Martin,
    do you want to store this data on a per-user basis? Then the personalization functionality might be want you want. You could define some additional properties in the portalapp.xml for your component and set its personalization to "no-dialog".
    Alternatively, you could store this information as additional attributes of the IUser object. See the following code snippet for details:
    IUserMaint mutableUser = UMFactory.getUserFactory().getMutableUser(userName);
    mutableUser.setAttribute(NAMESPACE, ATTRIBUTE, "some user-specific data");
    mutableUser.save();
    (NAMESPACE, ATTRIBUTE being some custom defined String constants that uniquely identify the attribute.
    Repost if you need further details.

  • General Key Figure Monitor doesn't display data in the portal

    Hi...
    I have configured the general key figure monitor in SPRO.  I executed the program KFM_VALUE_DET_SCHEDULE.  When I execute the portal iview using the context id, the  key figure data does't display.  The context id is set to the key figure category.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
    Thanks, that was just what I was looking for.
    I have verified that it is the right task, but unfortunately I still have an issue.
    If I add tasks like “uwl.task.webflow.default.TS92000077” or “uwl.task.webflow.TS92000077” in a view under Support Itemtypes, then these tasks are still not shown in my list.
    If I add another task that exist in the default configuration file (under system registration) then it works fine.
    Please look at the two screendumps under “item Type”. In the screendump that works the complete name is shown under Item Type and in the other case only a prefix call “default” is displayed.

    Am I missing some configuration in the backed or does anyone have any idea where this information is received from?

  • Reg: Getting the latest or last saved data from the table

    Hi,
    I'm having a table, which is getting updated whenever something is saved.
    Now i want to get the latest or last saved details to be displayed or the details of the row with greatest Id.( i.e, the Id. will be greatest for the last saved)
    please help me out with code to do this...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
    This could be done either through the webdynpro or the back end function module itself.
    If another field of type date/time is present in the table, u can save the current date and time along with the data in the table, and sort it in descending order of time. so that whenever u refresh the page the latest record is always in the first row,
    if u want to do it through webdynpro, u can also sort the table based on the date so that u get the latest record that was saved.
    Another solution is that u can maintain a serial number sort of thing the table which helps u identify the latest record
    Hope this helps u.

  • Conflict between the saved data and the sampling rate and samples to read using PXI 6070e

    Hello, I am using PXI 6070e to read an analog voltage. I was sampling at 6.6 MHz and the samples to read were 10. So, that means it should sample 10 points every 1.5 um. The x-axis of the graph on the control panel was showing ns and us scale, which I think because of the fast sampling and acquiring data. I use "write to measurement file" block to save the data. However, the data was saved every 0.4 second and as 35 points data at the beginning of each cycle (e.g. 35 points at 0.4 sec and 35 at 0.8 sec, and so on) and there was no data in between. Can anyone help me how there are 35 reading points every cycle? I could not find the relation between the sampling rate and samples to read, to 35 points every 0.4 second!
    Another thing, do I need to add a filter after acquiring the data (after the DAQ assistant block)? Is there anti-aliasing filter is built in PXI 6070e?
    Thanks for the help in advance,
    Alaeddin

    I'm not seeing anything that points to this issue.  Your DAQ is set to continuous acquire.  I'm not sure if this is really what you want because your DAQ buffer will keep overwriting.  You probably just want to set to Read N Samples.
    I'm not a fan of using the express VIs.  And since you are writing to a TDMS file, I would use the Stream to TDMS option in DAQmx.  If you use the LabVIEW Example Finder, search for "TDMS Log" for a list of some good examples.

  • Saving dates in the database

    How do I save a date in the database?
    My code is as follows:
    int year = 2002;
    int month = 2;
    int day = 3;
    java.util.Date sdate = new java.util.Date(year, month, day);
    PreparedStatement ps = "INSERT INTO period_table(pe_start) VALUES (?)";
    ps.setDate(1, sdate);
    ps.executeUpdate();

    To insert a Date into a database the best way is to use
    the java.sql.Date object instead of the java.util.Date
    int year = 2002;
    int month = 2;
    int day = 3;
    java.util.Date sdate = new java.util.Date(year, month, day);
    java.sql.Date sqldate = new java.sql.Date(sdate.getTime());
    Write the sqldate variable into the database.

  • How to read a file (lvm) after of saving data in the same VI ..??

    What exactly are you having trouble with. Unless you're not telling us something, it's easy. The Write LabVIEW Measurement has an output called File Name Out and Read labVIEW Measurement has an input called File Name. Wire the output to the input.

    Hi,
    The BO version is "BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0"
    The case is that, some reports are uploaded withe saved data. while viewing the reports, the reports return the old data.
    How to view the update data while click the "View" in CMC/InfoView ?
    I have tried to schedule it , then can see the update data in "View the latest instance".
    Is there any approach to refresh/update the saved data in the report ?

    Hello Forest lin,
    I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
    This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
    It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
    Also, all BOE Administration queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Validity Date options in the Portal for Child Subtype

    Hi All,
    For Child Subtype, the three options
    1. Valid from Today
    2. Valid as of Future Date
    3. Validity Period
    are present in the portal depending on the usecase maintained. For the 2nd & 3rd option, the user can enter only future dates.
    Past dates are not allowed to be entered from the portal but are allowed in the backend.
    We have a requirement of allowing past dates from the portal. But when we try to do this, we get an error 'Start data should be today's date or later'.
    What is the reason of preventing past dates for the record in the portal when this is available in backend?
    Thanks,
    Anushree

    Hi
    Some companies don't want employees to be able to back-date records for children due to eg. rules for reimbursement, absence quotas etc. They want HR-department to check if setting dates in past is OK.
    But you can change this behaviour by creating an implementation of HRXSS_PER_BEGDA. It is found in PTARQ -> Customizing-> Service-specific settings ->Own data -> Change default start date.
    Make sure you test the use case, because not all use-cases allow setting dates.
    Code would be like this:
    method IF_EX_HRXSS_PER_BEGDA~DEFAULT_DATE.
      data: ls_t7xsspersubtype type t7xsspersubtype.
      if infty eq '0021'.    -> Add subtype if needed
      Get use-case
        select single * from t7xsspersubtype
          into ls_t7xsspersubtype
          where molga eq molga
            and infotype eq infty
            and subtype eq subty.
      Set begda='19000101' if use-case is A*
        if sy-subrc eq 0 and
           ls_t7xsspersubtype-usecase+0(1) eq 'A'.
          begda = '19000101'.
        endif.
      endif.
    endmethod.
    Hope this helps
