Saving Messages to removable media

A user has messages that they would like to transfer to CD or USB Memory stick or some other form of removable media. I understand that the messages are wave files, but how do I get access to them so that I can copy over for them!?

Hi Janis,
I remembered seeing this thread some time ago. Maybe it will give you what you need. The answer is from Hin@Cisco Systems;

  • Saved messages to Media Card?

I am trying to free up some memory and would like to move saved messages to my media card. However, I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Currently my media card has pictures saved to it, as well as one song. It has ample space available. Can anyone please explain how to move saved messages to my media card?

You can't unless you use a third party application.
You may be able to when OS 4.5 is released. Not sure on that one.

now i want to Make a Recovery Disk with HP Recovery Manager Software.
but it show a Massage: "Recovery Partition has been Removed" in Recovery Media Creation Section.
in My Computer Recovery Partition is Almost Full (3.26G of 25.5G is Free) . so i think Recovery files present there .
i haven't any Access to HP for Buy recovery disk or Call Support.

I don't know why your PC is saying your partition is gone - you're right, it doesn't look gone. I do know that if you use the Support Assistant to make backup copies of your Recovery Disks and Then instruct it to remove the recovery partition to give you more space on the hard drive, it will delete the HP factory image of Windows 8 from the recovery partition and leave the normal Windows repair tools behind.
There are tools however that allow you to create your own recovery partition complete with these Windows repair tools and a new image of your instalation so you can restore from that. You could use this tool: Windows 7/8 - OEM Recovery Partition Creator found here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/21978-Windows-7-8-OEM-Recovery-Partition-Creator but thats a lot of work and it would be faster and easier just to backup your data and restore from your HP recovery disks you made from Support Assistant. If you didn't make the disks, HP may opt to send you a copy.. they do not normally do this but I have read that some people have good luck getting a free copy of the media from HP.. otherwise they want you to buy the recovery disks ($40.00) . I suppose it depends on the exact circunstances of your situation.
Another solution is to use Macrium Reflect Free Edition to ghost or clone your system. You can then restore your whole system even with your custom programs installed, to the exact state it was in when you made the backup image. ( this may take several dvd's) I suggest you go this route because restoring your system with Macrium Reflect is Much faster than restoring from the HP Recovery Disks. Even if you do obtain another copy of the Recovery Disks, you should use this tool to make another backup that you can customize to your liking. Your re-installs will be faster, they will already have your chosen software installed, and you will save wear and tear on your HP Recovery Disks.  You can then safely delete the recovery partition to gain back that space on your hard drive (since you cannot access it anyway, you won't need that space being taken up).  BUT.. you cannot restore from UEFI Mode which is what HP ships with. You have to go into your Bios settings, and switch to Legacy Bios mode, (which disables Secure Boot) FIRST or else the Macruim recovery boot disk will not load to install the recovery image. After the system re-installs you can go back into bios settings and disable Legacy bios and re-enable secure Boot if you like. ( Windows 8 will load in both UEFI mode with secure boot enabled or Legacy bios mode.. it's your choice. UEFI mode will load faster but it will cause problems if you want to dual boot the system with another OS)  Hope this helps.

  • How to remove saved messages

I have 6gb of messages(saved) on my phone, and I have deleted every text on my phone.

I have figured it out how to delete the (saved) messages, you simply go on the conversations. Press and hold the text and it should come up with Copy, More. Press More and you should see on the top left that says Delete all. I did it and it went from 2GB down to 100MB.
    I hope this helps.

  • HT4528 How do you delete 'SAVED MESSAGES' on iPhone 5s

How do you delete 'SAVED MESSAGES' on iPhone 5s?  It's taking up about 10GB of 32 GB capacity.

After much searching on the web and reading many (sometimes amusing) posts on this topic here is what I have found.
In Settings>General>Usage my saved mesages were using 3.2Gb and no apparently immediate way of deleting them.
However as the good book says "seek and ye shall find".
SO this is where I went:
Settings>iCloud>Account> then scroll down to ADVANCED and select Mail; again scroll down to the bottom and select Advanced and yet again scroll to the bottom (well at least to DELETED MESSAGES) and tap on the line called Remove.
Here at last you will find a setting that enables you to select the period after which iOS will remove your deleted messages.
The shortest period is one day so you will haev to wait 24 hours to finally have that memory back but it should work and is a nice feature in iOS although it is well burried!!

  • Serious Error shutdown message while exporting media

I am encountering an odd error message (from which I have never seen) when trying to export a project from Premiere Pro CC.
The error message (Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project) shuts down Premiere about 11-25% into the export. If I remove all effects on the media, the file exports fine, but will not if the effects remain on the media.
I have checked the permissions (as per Adobe forum advice), and they all allow me to read and write files, so that is not the issue. I have also restarted my computer, uninstalled / reinstalled Premiere, and tried rendering in different outputs, none of  which have worked.
I also have the error code, but am unaware of how to attach it to this question.
    Set up:
    Late 2012 iMac
    Mac OSX 10.9.2
    3.9 GHz Intel Core i7
    8GB memory
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB
    Premiere Pro CC
    Using H2.64 in .MP4 files
    Installed Plug ins:
Red Giant Magic Bullet Color Suite (used DeNoiser II in media)
Has anyone any clue as to what I should do/try next?
    Thanks for any input,
    Michael

  • Stability of Removable Media support in Linux?

Hey all, I'd previously thought support for removable media in linux was very good, and everthing I've used has been detected and mounted correctly and such, however I have experienced some corruption on them, especially on my microSD, as I've recently lost a few photos.
I'm wondering the current status of the support in linux, is it stable, are there any problems, or is it my configuration?
I use Thunar+Hal to manage my removable media.
    Thanks

I have found one "odd" issue with Linux: sometimes it delays writing to some external usb card readers.  It might be an issue with the reader but it seems absent in XP.  I have a kingston multi card reader.  I started using it to run my live Arch (Chakra-Live) because it was faster than an ide sd card adapter (odd); however, if I saved my overlay, the drive would show little activity while it was using squashfs on the overlay, and right at the end, the reader light would start flashing but the machine would shut down while the light was still going... and it always botched the save and lost data.  It only happened with the external reader; if the card was mounted on the internal reader on my eee-box, or in the ide adapter, it was fine.
Do make sure you do unmount / safely remove the drive, and maybe wait a few seconds.  I know my sandisk micromate has no light, so there is no way of telling if has stopped or not.

Nokia 5130 mobile saved messages are not visble not but still show in memory details, my mobile just restrated and with i turn back it on my saved messsages were not visible please help on that

Try to check the saved messages in the sim card. You may also try a power cycle by turning the phone off, removing the battery and pressing the power button without the battery for 8-10 seconds. You can also do a soft reset by pressing Menu > Settings > Rest. factory sett. > Restore settings only so that it will bring back the phone to its original state.

  • HELP!! Lost Saved Messages in Recent Voicemail Upgrade

Does anyone know how I could retreive saved messages that were in my Voice Mailbox before the upgrade took place?

    Good Afternoon Ladybugg
I really wish I had some good news for you.  But the truth of the matter is that once you upgrade your service say from regular phone to fios service, your services are routed differently, you are moved to a new telephone switch and new voicemail platform and old info is erased.  This is one of the big downfall of having voicemail.  If your company were to make a change or your voicemail box needs to get reset for what ever reason you stand a chance of loosing your messages.
I really wish I had some better news...  It is not like they can move you back to old service and all you old messages will re appear.. once removed they are gone.
    Sorry

  • Absent removable media causes popup

When I try to scan the root directory of some removable media drive I get a popup (twice ;) alerting me to the fact that the disk is not in the drive. This happens before my code returns from the listFiles() or similar method.
For a kind of batch job I'd like to avoid this - else the job would require user intervention to run to completion. How should I go about it? Found nothing in API docs and Harold's book on I/O. Also in the archives here the question popped up in September 2000 but the "user intervention" problem remained basically unadressed. Thanks for any suggests.

I believe I asked this same question, and it might even be the one from Sept. 2000. I can't find that thread either. (I actually think it was my first post to the forum.)
I had the problem that Windows popped up a message dialog when my floppy drive was empty whenever I tried any "java" way of seeing whether it was empty.
The solution that someone posted was to use Runtime.exec to perform a 'dir' command on that drive root directory, and then attempt to read from the process's input stream. If the drive is empty then the 'dir' command will have no stdout (only stderr) and if the drive is "dir-able" then 'dir' will have no stderr (only stdout). AND that pesky dialog does not appear!
Brilliant solution that worked exactly as I wanted. Sorry I can't remember who provided the solution to give credit. Was it DrClap?

  • Mailbox on removable media?

I want to be able to keep one or more mailboxes on removable media (so they won't always be available to mail).
I want to transfer selected messages into those mailboxes while the media is mounted, and then unmount it. When the media is mounted, I need the mailboxes to behave just like any other mailbox.
I tried a couple of things, but I haven't figured out how to get Mail to mount (or "attach" or whatever) those mailboxes so they show up in the list of mailboxes when the media is mounted.
I had something essentially identical working with Eudora under OS 9.
    Blue & White Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Yes, You can put the Jre on your usb stick to install it on the school computer.(make sure you have download the off-line Jre install)

  • Installing: Locating the software to update - check removable media

When updating our 10.4.6 Xserve to 10.4.7, Software Update seemed to hang indefinitely at about 85% complete with this message:
"Installing: Locating the software to update..."
SU would respond to nothing. Quit not available, et cetera. So, in desperation, I forced quit and hoped for the best. Machine restarted fine, but still at 10.4.6. So, ran Software Update again and began 10.4.7 install once more. Same error.
I was just about to open a service call on this when I heard the familiar "whirr, whirr" of our CD/DVD jukebox off in the background.
We have a PowerFile C200 with a recently installed beta driver (for Tiger). Well, it seems that Software Update wants to search all drives, including removable media, during the update process.
This means that SU was mounting and searching each of the 200 CD's and DVD's we had online in the C200.
I could force quit again, but have instead elected to allow things to follow their natural progression over time and see what the outcome is.
Advice: BEFORE OS X updates via Software Update, disable removable media sources other than the system drive whenever possible.

  • Insert Removable Media?

Hopefully a simple question.   Periodically, I assume after automatic system updates are done, I get a message saying "Important:  Insert Removable Media".  What do they want - a new CD/DVD/Flashdrive each time or am I to re-insert the original system backup DVD's that I did?

    Hi,
This message is related to Backup feature.
Did you have an automatic backup scheduled.
I suggest you check the File History setting.
If you have scheduled an automatic backup, you can back up your system, and then turn off the backup feature to check if the message disappears.
