Saving Printer Settings

I have been printing from Lightroom 2.3 to my Epson photo printer and am happy with the results.  I use the same settings all the time except to switch from portrait to landscape as appropriate.  But everytime I start a new Lightroom Print session I have to choose the printer, choose the page size, choose the quality, etc.
Isn't there a way to save these settings so they are automatically available when I got to print from Lightroom?

Yes, get everything set up the way you want.  Then in Print module, scroll the left column to the top where it says Template Browser.  Click the + sign to the right of "Template Browser" and you can Create a new template-- give it a descriptive name that's unique to your formatting-- which will appear below in the User Templates area when you hit the Create button to save it there.  It should save both the printer settings you have created for this print job (by clicking the Page Setup button at the bottom of the left column in Print module) and all the Lightroom print settings you've established in the right column.  At least it works in mine, with 2.3, XP, and a Canon printer.  But before counting on it and queueing up a 200 sheet print job  ,  verify this for your setup by loading a different template with different printer and Lightroom settings and then clicking on your saved User Template and checking each of the settings for the printer and for Lightroom to make sure it's still using the right ones.

  • LR 1.4.1 not saving print settings on Mac OS 10.5.2

1.4.1 won't save (or use) any print settings other than "Standard". In the print module if I select print settings, choose a printer and it's settings (like paper type and color management) then close the dialog the settings aren't saved or even used. It will only print with the "Standard" setting.
Tried on 2 systems and with new database.

As far as I know, it's always behaved like this. The solution is to get the print settings the way you want, save it under Standard, and then save the setting as a Lightroom preset. The print settings will stick with the preset.

  • Saved Print Settings

I recently had my PC reformatted and now every time I open an ID file from the company servers, the print settings default to my default printer and NOT the last saved version. This is a problem in that I work at a printshop and am called on to open other people's files to make plates. Any idea what the problem could be? I was told that all my printer drivers were updated after the reformat.

You should create print styles (printer presets) for all of your various print needs, and then save them to an external backup file for re-loading when your defaults are replaced.

  • Saving Print Settings on Adobe Acrobat Reader

    Hey Guys,
How do i save the Adobe Acrobat Reader printing settings to keep the "Print on both sides" option?
I have a user in the office reporting he needs to check that option in order to print double-sided, but the double-sided option is already configured under the System Preferences > Print
The Mac OS version is 10.5.8 and the Adobe Acrobat Reader is on 10.1.3.
    Any thoughts?

  • Lr4 print template not saving 'Print Settings'

First of all ... I'm coming from Lr3 running in Windows XP to Lr4 on a Mac, and I'm still getting used to the way Mac OS does things, so bear with me ...
Since using Lr4 on my Mac, today is the first time coming back to a particular art paper.  If I remember correctly, with Lr3 (Windows) the print settings "Page Setup" and "Print Settings" were combined into a single dialog of parameters.  In any case, a defined Lr3 print template remembered everything (e.g., paper size, paper type, print quality, etc).  However, I am finding Lr4 (Mac) only remembers the 'Page Setup' settings and that I will always need check and usually modify the 'Print Settings'.  Is this a functional difference between Windows and Mac OS, or am I missing something?  Or, did something go awry when I upgraded to Lr 4.1 RC??

  • Saving print settings in a template

    Hello,
I'm creating some user templates for different printing setups in LR 3.3 RC on a Mac Pro, OS X 10.6.5, using the Epson 3800 with the current driver ver. 6.11.
I have no problem saving different print setting presets and also have no problem saving different templates but I can't get my saved templates to include any of my print presets. When printing I click on my print template, click the Print button on the right side of the printing module, select the intended printer preset, and click Print. What I'm trying to accomplish with my template is to eliminate having to manually select the print preset each time. Should this be possible in LR or is the manual selection step normal?
    Thanks,
    Saul

When you start your template is your Page Setup
    in left panel correct ?

  • How can I delete all printer settings?

This was not always the case, but I've been having problems lately getting good prints from a HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 from my Mac Pro since I installed Photoshop CS5. The printing problems - washed-out colors, especially reds- also happened with older versions of Photoshop, so it may not be the app that's causing this. I uninstalled, then reinstalled the HP drivers but the uninstall didn't delete all the settings accumulated over several years of printing. After lots of lousy test prints using different settings, I decided to try printing from another Mac that has never used this printer before. The prints came out right when printed with Photoshop CS1, which has a simpler print dialog than the later versions. By CS5, it has so many variables that it was hard to figure out which settings are affecting the quality.
I also tried printing the same file from Preview to rule out Photoshop as the cause. It was somewhat better but not as good as the print from CS 1 on the laptop.
I'm just trying to start with a clean slate to eliminate some of the variables that may be causing the print quality problems.
Where is the file or files that contain the list of saved printer settings? I looked in the User Library and its Prefs folder but discarding the HP Printer prefs file didn't delete the settings.

It seems to me that you’re having problems concerning colour management/profiles. In that case I’m not of much help. But you can try to reset the printing system of OS X and afterwards install your printer driver again. To reset the printing system open System Preferences/Print & Fax and right-click somewhere on the white space underneath your listed printers.

  • AI CC 2014.1.1 (18.1.1) no longer saves print settings

Recently, and for as long as I can remember, AI saved print settings with the document. Now this no longer seems to be the case. One must manually set EACH print setting prior to printing, even previously saved documents.  :-(  This used to save a lot of time, but now requires extra time to re-set up each doc for printing, EACH TIME it is printed.
    Bummer.
If there's a way around this situation, I'm all ears.  :+)

  • Saving print dialog settings

I have a machine with adobe reader 6.0 in which different users are logging with different account.
If a administrator changes print dialog settings such as Auto rotate and center or Page scaling (Fit to page, Shrink page sizes) while printing a document, the same settings are not visible in print dialog of various users which log onto same machine.
Does AcroReader stores settings differently for different users ?
Where does it store settings in registry or a seperate settings file for each user ?
How can i have same settings (Print dialog settings) for different users ?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

It does say, "Double-sided: Yes," in Windows' printer properties for the Bizhub PS (and PCL) Fiery driver(s) -- in fact, this may have been from me turning it on for the PS driver in Windows Registry, as it was off for some reason, but seemed to make no real difference anyway -- but I think the duplexing option would have been grayed-out in the Fiery driver's dialog if not available as some various other options are -- the driver has the capability to poll the device for such options availability -- and I don't actually see anything duplexing-related on the Installable Options tab, but the Installed list is identical to one of our XP computers with no apparent issues with printing to the drivers from InDesign -- although at one point, if a Vista user printed an InDesign document and saved it (and thus the printer settings), XP users for some reason couldn't print the document without forcing a change in the print driver settings, but I believe this was due to using the same drivers but different TCP/IP port configurations per machine (Vista doesn't need the IP_ prefix as XP seems to).

  • Printer Settings Not Saving

I have an Epson 4800 and an Epson 6600. I have saved the printer presets for the different papers that I use. Like Roll Paper Glossy or Semimatte Sheet paper.
After the latest OS upgrade, my saved settings are not working! When I click on one of my saved settings, it is like it goes to the default settings. It does not even revert to the last settings used.
Any idea on how to get my saved printer presets to work again?
    Kevin Hawkins

To make sure you really delete the settings, you should throw away the com.apple.print.custompresets.plist file in your /Library/Preferences/ folder in your home directory.

  • Standard print settings seem to change, can't be saved

I'm having trouble with the standard print settings. One time I'll print and it will default to landscape, the next time it will be portrait. If I try to change it and then save it, the Save option is grayed out. Only Save As is available and it won't let me save it as Standard. The paper size changes, too. It will be letter for awhile, then the next time it will be 4x6 prints. Keep in mind that all of this is in Standard preset.
I have two printers and I haven't noticed a pattern to this as I switch between printers. I just want the Standard preset to be the same all the time.

Where do you find Page Setup in Safari? or Mail? As I mentioned in my post, if I change it to portrait orientation letter size to print the page I'm on now, the next page I get ready to print might be set to print in landscape orientation at 4x6 paper. I'm having to reconfigure every page I print every time I print.

I have crystal reports 10 report file, in which I edited the printer settings... collate and number of copies(2) and saved it.
now i want to print it from VB6. I am using a customized print dialog form (not using the common dialog control)
I want to get the collate and number of copies settings from the rpt file. how can I get those details. any API available?

    Hello Sankar  ,
as you refer to the legacy technology VB6 I recommend to post this query to the [Legacy Application Development SDKs|SAP Crystal Reports - Legacy SDKs; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to legacy SDKs, including the Report Designer Component (RDC), OCX, VCL, and Crystal Reports Print Engine (CRPE).
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Legacy Application Development SDKs queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
