Saw.dll?BIEEHome&startPage=1 & ?Logoff HTML

Hi,
I'm new to OBIEE (11g) and basically, here's the problem we're having:
We changed our header to include our new logo. The logo appears, but on the log on and log off page, the logo is the wrong width.
Here's what I've found by simply viewing the source:
<table id="branding" class="branding" width="100%" border="0"cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">

So, it appears correctly in the XML we modified, but not in the HTML that the page is using to display.
What's the name of the file(s) where the width="119" comes from?

• Saw.dll file is missing on Linux

Hi all,
I m trying to install OBIEE 10.1.3.2 on LinuxRedHat OS where Apache is already installed.
I have finished the installation using the Basic mode. OC4j, BI server & Presentation server have started successfully. Httpd is also running.
I have copied the analytics.war file to the html folder of the Apache server and have excecuted the jar -xvf analytics.war command too.
The default.jsp page is also specified in the .conf file.
The result of this is when I type http://localhost it shows me the default.jsp page in the Firefox. The value in this page is not parsed.
I could not find saw.dll file on the machine.
Is saw.dll file required to view answers, dashboards?
Have searched entire forum but could not find any solution.
Need help!!!

Hello Cody. I created a sequenced
Actuate 7 eSpreadsheet Designer 10.0.2 with Appv-5 Sp2. I published the package using the Powershell commands, but When I tested the app in this test machine the app never openned. The process eSpreadSheet.exe cosumed the 99% of the CPU and never
open the app. I performed a Devirtualization in another machine and it looks work properly, So I think it's a virtualization problem. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
Note: I created another sequence including all the DLLS detected in SystemX86 in the same directory where the exe file resides for this application C:\Program Files\Actuate7 as you suggested in the last entry but I'm still having the same problem.

• Error loading XML Document from /analytics/saw.dll/common/privileges.xml

I tested my procedure for upgrading from OBI 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6 which was successful. I had to rollback to OBI 11.1.1.5 using my database backup and VM snapshot due to project requirements.
The OBI application successfully comes up but users who login just get "Error loading XML Document from /analytics/saw.dll/common/privileges.xml?fmapID=KqIJCw. The response given was: ". They can't close this message box so are unable to do anything.
How can I fix this?

Hi All,
You can face this issue with other versions of OBIEE 11.*
Problem cab be solved as follows:
Go to http://localhost:7001/em > coreapplication > Capacity Management > Scalibility >
1. Lock and edit
2 .increase number of presentation services to 2
3. restart opmn component.
Go to coreapplication > Availibility > processes
1 .please note that in deployment > catalog > change path of catalog field from $coreapplication to path where your catalog resides.
2. Take down your primary instance.
3. As your secondary is up, it will grant you to browse you through catalog and dashboards.
If you want to run primary instance of presentation services
Go to path \Middleware\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips2
except catalog and catalog manager > Copy all other files to coreapplication_obips1
restart opmn component > problem solved.!!!

• Export issue:saw.dll instead of cvs file in Chrome

Hi Experts,
We have a problem while exporting data from BIEE Dashboard in Chrome. Instead of a CVS file, we got a saw.dll file exported. When we opend the saw.dll with text editor, the data was shown in text, however, we want to use it in Excel.
Please advise if you have any idea.
BIEE Version:11.1.1.5.0

Hi MuRam,
Thanks for quick response. But this option doesn't work in my situation.
I added two answers in the Dashboard. One was a short version which was displayed with a few columns. The other included more columns just for exporting. So it only show a static view of some notes. The export link was added in the long version. With the option export to excel, only these static notes would be downloaded.

• Cannot open any On Demand reports, prompted to download a file "saw.dll"

Hello,
When I try and open any Siebel On Demand reports I am prompted to download the file Saw.dll. The same problem occurs on FireFox and IE, I have also opened reports on other On Demand environments with no issues at all.
It seems environment related, but no-one else gets the same problem on that environment! Anyone come across anything similar?
Thanks

Hey,
Even I use to face the same problem. Please do the following quick checks
-Make sure Analytics site is part of trusted sites
-Go to Options-Advanced-HTTP 1.1 settings, make sure both are checked.
This should solve the problem.

• Regd Logoff URL (.html) - deployed into same portal server

hi all,
we've configured spnego. and i want to redirect the logoff url to another some url with logoff.html. i've done this using some other server and it works fine.
now i want to redirect the logoff url which is deployed in same portal server itself! how do i do it?
i want http://<portalserver>:<port>/logoff.html - is this possbile please let me kknow if yes!
tnx, JB

Have you tried using a URL alias in this case ?? Create a url alias with the name logoff (under web.xml) , create a desktop (in system admin) with a theme and framework page . Create a KM doc iview out of your html file and put it under the framework page . Make only this iview visible . Configure main_rules file so that when you access http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff it points to the desktop .
Now in browser when you type http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff you will get the HTML page . I am sure this will work as i have done this before . Try this much , If this works then try placing the link - http://portalserver.port/irj/portal/logoff in config tool and see if that works which i think it should . If your client is too particular about logoff.html then you can try creating an alias with the same name and see if its allowing you to do the same . I am not sure about logoff.html as an alias but as far as my experience goes logoff with the above steps should do the trick .
Check this help link for more details - http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/6e/8590f1d6d349c9adc34c6a8085189b/frameset.htm .

• Calling a report from HTML

Hi All ,
I am trying to call a report from Static view.Now , I know we can call a page or dashboard from the statis view by writing th HTML content.
Can we also call a report from the Static View .
I tried using :

Here, the report 'Report Name' is in the dashboard 'Dashboard Name' .
The report location is : /shared/Sample store/Report Folder/Report Name
Can we directly call the report without going to Dashboard as I have tried in above HTML statement.
Thanks!

hi,
Create a static view with the following code which will directly open report not the dashboard,if u want you can make the input type as button,I guess we will not get the dynamic report name as your
The report location is : /shared/Sample store/Report Folder/Report Name
The alternative if any user click on that "TEXT" it will take you to that report
{p}
Here, the report 'Report Name' is in the dashboard 'Dashboard Name' .
To edit the report
{input type="text" value ="Report Location is :"
onclick="window.location='saw.dll?Answers&ItemName=Bench To Individual - Help&Folder=/shared/Sample Sales/02 History and Benching&LocItemName=Bench To Individual - Help'"}

• Custom HTML or JS in Column Headers in Answers

All,
I am primarily a web developer, but a co-worker asked me how a site was doing a particular effect (they had set the title parameter of a node, and it was showing up like a tooltip). He wanted to set it up on the column header of an Answer, so that when a user scrolled over it, it would display some metadata about the field. I said it should be really easy to do.....
So after a day of reading up on Seibel/Oracle Analytics, I'm about ready to strangle the developers.
I had assumed (apparently incorrectly), that I could set the column header text, and just include an html element with the title set. Simple enough, after that didn't work (it never parses the HTML, it just renders it as character entities). I thought, surely it would be an easy task to track down the actual html templates that were being used to generate those tables. No such luck there either.
Ideally, I'd like to edit the "advanced" tab report xml, and just say something like:
<saw:title>My Tooltip Title</saw:title>
but I can't find any documentation on that XML document format.
Surely though, the original developers did not embed HTML table info inside the magical mystical saw.dll....
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
James

Update:
This is interesting. So when my coworker asked me how get the tooltip effect, I said it was super straight forward. All they had to do was something like:
<span title="My tooltip">My Column Header</span>
And it would work. After trying all kinds of HTML, I despaired of a simple fix.
Then we set the HardenXSS flag to false in the server instance config file, and I tried that exact code again. It still was not parsing the column header correctly. Then one of my other coworkers, tells me that he put a line break tag in, and it rendered the break.
o.O
So I tried the following:
<b title="My tooltip">My Column Header</b>
Which of course worked. Why is span being discriminated against? I have no idea.
So basically, for column header tooltips, disable XSS hardening, and use a bold tag. (why bold? it was the first thing that came to mind, and since the default font-weight of a table header is bold, it should be practically unnoticable).
The next question is, what exactly is the impact of disabling the HardenXSS. I'm not sure if it allows certain HTML elements only, or if it allows any HTML (or more to the point the script tags). I wonder if anyone has done a vulnerability assesment of having hardening turned off.

• Where is the HTML-Code for the Dashboard-Links defined? How to edit it?

Hello everyone,
I'd like to know where HTML-Code for the Dashboard-Links (My Dashboard, insert random Dashboardname here, ...) is defined.
Inspecting HTML-Code via the browser, i'll got the following HTML-Tag:
an <a'' href="...url"... class="CurrentPortal" name="DashboardBannerLink" title="...">Dashboard-name</a''>
What i know is, that i can modify portalbanner.css and edit the style of those links.
But thats not what i want, though. I want to modify the html-code itself, for example change the layout of the table etc, to meet our company's corporate design requirements.
Thats why i tried to find the terms PortalLink and CurrentPortal within the Message-Database (/msgdb).
Unfortunately, i got no results.
As a consequence, I believe HTML for those Links is generated by saw.dll internally and therefore can not be edited.
Now i need someone to prove me wrong ;)
Thanks in advance,
Chris

-had to edit the html tag, as the code was turned into a clickable link when i posted the thread

I still didn't find a solution until now, although i checked almost every xml file, that i was able to find.
At the moment I am sure, that it would be necessary to edit sawm-Parameter "bannerHtml" to meet my requirements. Now, i dont know whether its possible to edit it or not, since those saw-parameters do not seem to be documented on the web.
That's the part, i found in dashboardtemplates.xml (Line: 362)
<WebMessage name="kuiDashboardBanner" translate="no">

• How to enable logoff button in OBIEE?

Hi guys,
We are implementing APCC-ASCP-Demantra which uses OBIEE.
We are unable to see logoff button inside of the Dashboards page, is there any way to enable it?
I have added next line inside of my instanceconfig.xml file:
<LogoffUrl>http://<hostname>:<port>/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard</LogoffUrl>
Any advice or help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Francisco Mtz. Oviedo

Hi,
Sorry for the late response.. Please add this line in your instanceconfig.xml file.
<LogoffUrl>http://server:port/analytics/saw.dll?Logoff></LogoffUrl>
It should point to saw.dll?Logoff not saw.dll?Dashboard.

• APEX - Textarea with HTML Editor.

All,
I am working with Application Express Version 2.2.1.00.04
I have the following problem:
I have an item "Textarea with HTML Editor" which I am inserting
information CLOB in a table.
This data is consulted by a Region Report of APEX which has a Link that
will be a popup. Inside the report, I use wwv_flow_utilities.URLENCODE
(here the column is a CLOB) where it gives me the error "ORA-06502:
PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small".
I started to investigate which might be the problem and saw that the
item "Textarea with HTML Editor" usually inserts special characters.
I show an example of the special character that inserts and which is the
error.
SELECT wwv_flow_utilities.URLENCODE(' ')
FROM dual;
This character, which is like a space in target, is bringing problems to
be able to execute the report.
A provisional solution to solve this problem is to put a REPLACE into
the Query.
Has anyone this problem.???? Do you know why this character can be
inserted??????
Thx..

Thanks Dimitri!
I'm trying to find this place in the application but I don't have enough privileges. Here, we are working with Application Express 2.2.1 and we have to upgrade to 3.1.1.
In order to improve the behaviour of HTML Editor Standard, I think we should integrate FCK to our application, do you know about any step by step explanation to achieve this? Because I was searching this information in the forums, but I can't find anything. Please, any information you can share with me will be very helpful
Thanks again!

• Application starts IE and needs to access html inside Jar

Hi everyone,
I have a Swing application which i have deployed as an executable Jar file. One of the options i give the users within this application is the ability to view a html file in their default browser. However the html file is packaged within the jar and i cannot get Internet Explorer to target the html file when it exists inside the jar.
I fire up IE using the following command :
Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler <path to html file>" ).
The above command works no problem if my html file exists on my hard drive so for example the following works no problem:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler C:\test\help.html" )
I have tried the following command by getting the URL for the html file using :
URL theURL = myClass.class.getClassLoader().getSystemResource( "help.html" );
I then get a path to the file:
File aFile = new File( theURL.getFile() );
String htmlFile = aFile.getAbsolutePath();
and execute the command
Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler" + " " + htmlFile )
However this was not successfull either.Can anyone tell me how i might get internet explorer to display a html file which is packaged within a jar.
Thanks :)

An idea. Never tried anything like this myself, so don't know if it will work. Don't see why it shouldn't though.
A jar file is just a file in the zip format so write some code that uses the tools in java.util.zip to unpack the jar (or just specific contents) to somewhere like /temp
Then use the runtime exec to start the browser with the argument /temp/file.html
Hope this helps.

target="_blank" href="http://gtestenv:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=%shared%Sample%testpage&P0=1&P1=eq&*P2="Variance Data".Level1=100*

And use %22 for the quotes
%22Variance%20Data%22.Level1which become :
