SB Live! 7.1 Microphone is

I've been having some trouble with my microphone. Recently, I have been using my new soundcard, SoundBlaster Li've! 7. 24 bit The problem I am having is, though I seem to be doing everything correctly, I can't get any sound from my microphone while "what u hear" is selected in the recording options. A screenshot will make everything clear and probably help you figure out what I'm doing wrong or anything's wrong with my computer / soundccard / mic etc.

in playback control is for "mute" and "sec" is for "select" in record control. My operating system is windows xp and I can get sound from my microphone when I choose "microphone" in the recording options but I need to get sound while "what u hear" is selected. Hello i'm having the exact same problem, i've tried everything u've mentioned in you post and still unable to find solutions. What i have found that works (however only for a while) is formatting your pc, this restores the midi driver but as mentioned only temporarily lets say a few days if your lucky so whatever programme it is that you use you will see the "USB device [2]" etc pop up amongst the rest of the device drivers i.e. "windows mapper" "Creative B synthesizer external midi" hopefully when you formatt your pc this problem should be corrected permenantly however i do stress that you don't get to excited that your audio device is now working.

    Any advices from the gurus in charge? Thanks.

    I had the same problem and this is how I remedied it:
    START/CONTROL PANEL/SOUND, SPEECH/SOUND&AUDIO DEVICES
    AUDIO/SOUND RECORDING
    Check the DEFAULT DEVICE to be sure it is your sound card.
    VOLUME .. click on it and this will bring up a list of the sound devices.
    CLICK ON MICROPHONE
    APPLY
    This SHOULD do it.
    If not I will give you double your money back that you paid me for the advice. :smileyvery-happy:

  • WebCam Live Microphone

    This is my first post on this forum. The matter has probably been covered before but I'm not sure how to access it.
    Yesterday I installed my new 'WebCam Live' camera and microphone. I use a headphone set with attached mic for "skype" and prefer to use the headphone mic over the WebCam mic.
    I am told that there is a way to set it up so that I can do this. I did not find anywhere in the set-up that
    indicated a choice was possible.
    Does anyone out there use this method ?
    If you can help me out here I would appreciate it.
    If you care to e-mail me my address is [email protected]

    Thanks Jason, but the fact of the matter is that there is a definite procedure to configure the set up for a different mic other than the one that comes with the bundle. I have been in touch with "Customer Support " and this apparently is the case. However I was not able to download the page/article that they recommended as there appears to be some problem with it.
    Here is the address see if you can access it --- if you can please let me know.

  • Live!Cam Voice: video but no sound

    I've installed the Live!Cam Voice, updated the driver too but I cannot get it to work. I does record the video, but there's no sound.
    I've checked the sound settings both on the Live!Cam and windows. The Live!Cam settings are set to record using Live!Cam, whereas the windows sound settings, in control panel are set as follows:
    Audio
    Realtek AC97
    Sound recording
    Live!Cam Voice (mic)
    The strange thing is that the Live!Cam microphone DOES work if I use it with Windows Accessory Sound Recorder.
    Has anybody got an idea why there's no sound?
    Thank You

  • How to edit a stream captured live in jmf?

    hi everybody.
    i want to know how can i edit an audio stream that is being captured live from a microphone. i have looked at Cut.java from jmf solutions. it is taking a file to cut and then write the updated file to another file. when i have tried to modify it by making the program take the input as captured audio, the program is not working! and am not able to hear the output file as well!
    can anyone help me please?
    a
    i have also tried to implement a BufferTransferHandler but my program is still not working! please help!!!

    i was wondering is there a way in jmf to let the capture device capture for some random time and stop, then restart capturing again and stop again..meaning to continue repeat this pattern.. because i want to implement packet losses in jmf .
    previously i was trying to capture a continuous stream of audio and then try to select randomly from the buffer to send this over a network.but that is not working! so am trying to select from the start itself. tell me is it possible to control capture from the microphone in a random fashion as explained above? thankssss a lot ..reply soon!!

  • Cant hear a live feed of my mic - G530 Vista

    I am trying to hear myself live through my microphone and out of my speakers.
    I have:
    1) unmuted the microphone
    2) tried turning the mic and the mic boost volumes up full
    3) uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers (conexant HD smart audio 221)
    4) everything that Lenovo could suggest
    Still no use.
    I want to be able to take my laptop to my friends for a party and sing karoake.
    I have searched endlessly on the internet but to no avail.
    The nearest I got was a suggestion of adding an 'enableinputmonitor' into the regedit.
    There is no option for this.
    It seems the enable input monitor option should appear on sound > playback tab > selecting speaker > selecting properties > then in the 'levels' tab, but it just isnt there,  Its driving me up the wall and someone please please help.
    I phoned the retailer where I bought the laptop and they had no answer for me either.
    Anyone, please please help
    Thanks
    Karen

    Yes I used to use my pc and my old tiny laptop in this way.
    i use a microphone for input and use the headphone socket to run an output to my stereo
    Its for singing through.
    Seems to be either a problem with Vista, or the sound card, or the non appearance of enable input monitor in the sound option.

  • Audio In and Out Question (Any iDevice)

    How would I get audio from my iPod and loop back in my iPod LIVE as a "Microphone" while hearing it LIVE?

  • Extra bytes problem with audio capture,j2me

    hi there
    I m working on a J2ME application that captures live audio through microphone into a bytearrayoutputstream .
    i have supplied the capture time,sampling rate, bits per sample, no of channels info to the program.
    but when i check out the size of the byte array , i see that its greater than what it should be !!!
    if the size had been lesser than expected, i could guess that sum bytes are getting lost , but what attributes to the larger size.
    and everytime i run the program i c that the size is larger than expected though the number by which it exceeds is different everytime.
    can ne one help??

    Hi,
    Thank you very much for your help. I changed the code as you suggested. It minimizes the gap, but there is still part of missing voices.
    When you tried it, did you get really perfect (no gap) recording, as if it was recorded to one single stream?
    below is my recording code:
    for(int i=0;i<types.length;i++) {
                   rc.setRecordStream(baos);
    rc.startRecord();
    Thread.sleep(2000);
    rc.stopRecord();
    rc.commit();
    init.append("baos size after rec:" + baos[i].size()+"\n");
    }//end of for
    p.stop();
    p.close();
    and here is the code for playing back the voice:
    for(int i=0;i<3;i++) {
                bais[i] = new ByteArrayInputStream(baos.toByteArray());
    try {
    p = Manager.createPlayer(bais[i],types[i]);
    p.prefetch();
    p.start();
    Thread.sleep(p.getDuration());
    p.stop();
    p.close();
    catch(Exception e) {
    init.append("exception in playing back voice: "+e.toString()+"\n");
    e.printStackTrace();
    for playing back, we need to stop and close the player first, then create a new player to play the next input stream, dont we?
    Thanks

  • Live! Cam Voice - Microphone compatibility w/ Windows Vista Ultimate

    I recently got the Live! Cam Voice for my computer with Windows Vista Ultimate. And for some reason the built in microphone won't work at all - even the voice recorder, the Yahoo! Messenger in which it was built for and Windows Live Messenger. However the actual webcam works fine. Is there anyway to get the microphone to be compatible with Ultimate?

  • Getting the USB microphone to appear in Live Meeting 2007

    Optia AF camera under Vista, using Live Meeting 2007. The video works fine. But, neither Live Meeting nor Office Communicator lists the built-in USB microphones as a choice when configuring the audio. The only way I can get audio to work is by using the headphones and microphone connected to my sound card.
    Strangely enough, the USB microphone works fine with Windows Sound Recorder if I set it as the default sound input device in the Windows sound control panel.
    Anybody else have this problem and find a solution?

    Performance tip: Keep the Desktop clutter-free (empty, if possible)
    Mac OS X's Desktop is the de facto location for downloaded files, and for many users, in-progress works that will either be organized later or deleted altogether. The desktop can also be gluttonous, however, becoming a catch-all for files that linger indefinitely.
    Unfortunately - aside from the effect of disarray it creates - keeping dozens or hundreds of files on the Desktop can significantly degrade performance. Not necessarily because the system is sluggish with regard to rendering the icons on the desktop and storing them in memory persistently (which may be true in some cases), but more likely because keeping an excessive number of items on the Desktop can cause the windowserver process to generate reams of logfiles, which obviously draws resources away from other system tasks. Each of your icons on your desktop is stored as a window in the window server, not as an alias. The more you have stored, the more strain it puts on the window server. Check your desktop for unnecessary icons and clear them out.
    Keeping as few items as possible on the Desktop can prove a surprisingly effective performance boon. Even creating a single folder on your Desktop and placing all current and future clutter inside, then logging out and back in can provide an immediately noticeable speed boost, particularly for the Finder.

  • Microphone doesn't work for Creative Live! Cam Socialize HD AF HD Webcam

    Microphone doesn't work for Creative Live! Cam Socialize HD AF HD Webcam (for Windows 7).
    I have to use external microphone from Logitech now.
    I send few emails to Customer Service. They answered once to check my Device Manager and disappeared after that. I'm really disappointed.
    It looks like the drivers for Windows 7 are wrong.

    hey Killthebeeping,
    if you have the USB Mic connected kindly remove it first then uninstall the audio drivers for your B510.
    let windows install its generic driver.
    once done plugin your usb mic and test it again.

  • ISight microphone not recognized in Windows Live Messenger

    I have a 24" iMac running Leopard. I installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Bootcamp. I am trying to use the Windows Live Messenger program. When I try to set up the microphone, the program does not see my iSight mic. Sound comes through my speakers and the program sees my webcam (it shows up as "USB device"), but my microphone is not listed. I tried reinstalling bootcamp and I saw it install an iSight driver. Why doesn't the program see my microphone and any suggestions how to fix this?

    I forgot to mention that the iSight camera I refer to in my post is built in to the iMac, along with its microphone.

    Hi
    I'm wanting to build an AIR application where I would need
    live access to sound frequencies via the microphone.
    I understand that FP9 cannot do this, but I was wondering if

  • Microphone won't work for Creative Live for Notebook

    Okay, so i bought the webcam and that works great, but I went to use the microphone and i can't get it to work at all! I've plugged it correctly, and I can hear my computer through the earpiece but I can't get my computer to hear me!! Any ideas?

    ojos_delangel,
    That depend on what type of soundcard you have and what software it comes bundled with. If you have a Creative soundcard, you can check those volumes via the Creative Surround Mixer software. If not, you can go to Control Panel->Sounds and Audio devices->Audio tab. Under Sound recording, make sure the correct sound device is selected. Next click at the volume button and make sure the microphone is selected and ain't muted. Also, you might want to do a simple sound recording test via the Start->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder.

  • Can't get my microphones to work with SB Live 24 B

    Just got a new Dell PC, and selected the SoundBlaster Li've! 24 bit sound card. Have tried 4 different microphones, and can barely get anything on the windows Sound Recorder. I mean, I almost have to yell. I have tried powered mics, new batteries, and they all record at the same very low level. I think I have exhausted all options in the software settings, so it seems to be a matter of equipment compatablility. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type mics would work better?
    thanks, Mike

    Hello. I just purchased an MSI Diamond P4 SLI motherboard, that has the SB Li've 24 Bit intergrated on the motherboard. I too am experiencing the exact same problem. The input level for the mic is extremely low. I have to practically yell to get anything at all. I have already, updated drivers, checked to make sure that mic was my selected input device. Checked +20 mic boost, set all recording levels to high. Ensured that the correct device was chosing for recording. I can use sound recorded and actually record my voice. However the recording volume is extremely low. This MIC is nothing fancy, just an $8.00 mic that works absolutely fine on my Audigy Gamer sound card in another computer. So I know the mic is fine. I have gone over every setting I can find at least 0 times and I can't find a reason for the mic recording volume to be so low.Please help.. Thanks
