Scanner says "no Computer found"

I am running on OS X, 10.9.2 version. I am using an HP 5520 and a wrieless connection via router C1000A
On the printer I toch the advance button and then the scan icon. I then touch the computer icon, wnating the scanner to scan to the computer. The message I get is "no computer found". I am having no problem printing, only scanning. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello greiselt,
Welcome to the forums!
I noticed your post about the "computer not found" message you are seeing on your Photosmart 5520 when attempting to scan. I would first of all recommend restarting your router, computer and printer and try to scan again.
If that doesn't work, try these steps:
1. Uninstalling the Printer Software
2. Repair disk permissions
3. Restart the computer
4. HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers

  • HP ENVY 5530 no computer found

I bought my HP ENVY 5530 about a year ago and have not had any problems with it until now. I keep trying to print stuff (word documents, photos, emails...) and nothing happens. No messages come up on the printer. When I click on the printer icon on the computer it the status says 'Printing' but soon changes to 'Error'.I tried to scan something to the computer and the printer says 'No Computer found'. How do I fix this??

Alright here's what we'll do.On your PC click on Start. In the box that says Search Programs and Files type in Services and press enter. In this window click on Component Services (Local) on the left.On the right side click scroll down to Print Spooler.Right click on Print Spooler and click on Stop.Open Computer and go to C:/Windows/System32/spool/printersDelete everything in this folder.Go back to where you right clicked on Print Spooler, right click on it, and click on Start.Try printing. If you are still unable to print or scan then the next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your printer. You can find the latest drivers by clicking on this link. I hope this helps and I hope you have a great weekend!

    HELP

    Hey @Bajagirl1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the issue you're experiencing when attempting to scan from your HP Deskjet 3510 e-All-in-One Printer to your Windows XP computer. Now because you're getting the message 'No Computer Found' there may be a conflict occuring with the software installed on your XP computer or there may be a connection conflict occuring between your HP Deskjet and your Windows computer. Can I please have you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
To start can I please have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix scanning' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you.
Once the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool has completed please test scanning again to verify if the issue has been resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Should the issue persist, please let me know if the HP Print and Scan Doctor encountered any errors during the 'fix scanning' process. Good luck!

  • Hello! I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my iTunes. My phone is connected to my computer, (was able to import pics) but I cannot manage my apps or music in iTunes. I ran diagnostics and it says 'no iPhone found'. The device cannot be restored in iTunes.

Hello! I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my iTunes. My phone is connected to my computer, (was able to import pics) but I cannot manage my apps or music in iTunes. I ran diagnostics and it says 'no iPhone found'. It then takes me to Apple Support that says:
The device cannot be restored in iTunes.
An exclamation point, question mark, plug symbol, or "X" appears next to the device's entry in Device Manager.
During an update or restore, the device may no longer be recognized by iTunes
    HELP!

    Hello, Shandey.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
With the symptoms you described, try the step in the article below.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode and If you see two "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" entries with exclamation marks on them.  Then select the appropriate operating system that you are using.

  • When my ipod nano is plugged into my computer it says ipod not found

My ipod nano no longer connects to computer.  It still works when playing elsewhere and Itunes is working as well.  It is exempt from firewall so that's not the problem.  Not sure if my ipad or iphone will connect.  I am afraid to test them at this point.  I tried another usb cable (Apple) so that's not the problem.  Diagnostics says ipod not found.

  • Unable to scan----no computer found

I have recently switched internet providers.  My wireless box is downstairs and I have a router-repeater between it and this computer (a Mac).  I've had no troubles with scanning until this change was made.  In trying to scan I see the message "no computer detected).  I've tried identifying the wireless router as both the original box and the repeater.  The wireless network test report says "No problems found.  Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer"  The HP Network Configuration Page says the Netowrk Status is "Ready" and the Active Connection Type is "Wireless".  Yet every time I hit 'scan' the message comes up that no computer is detected!  I've tried switching the printer/scanner off and on again.  I've tried unplugging it.  Nothing has worked.  Help!!!
    This question was solved.

    Hi Sophia21,
I understand since you changed internet providers the printer won't scan. You have a wireless box downstairs and a router-repeater also. I can help you, but I will need some more information to assist you better.
Is the printer connected to the main routers network name?
In the mean time you can do the following steps:
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer.
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon ( ), and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click the + sign, then select the printer from the list and click on the Add button.
(make sure it shows the printer name beside Use, not the Airprint driver)
What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
What kind of router do you have?
What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • I tried to set up my new ipod shuffle and a error message popped up saying Ipod not found cannot update.  I can't sync my ipod now but it is showing on itunes.  What should I do?

I bought a new 4th gen ipod shuffle and tried to sdet it up last night.  I installed the latest itunes software and started to sync my ipod, but error boxes kept popping up saying ipod not found cannot sync.  It was showing in itunes, then it would disappear, then it would come back.  I am not very good with computers so I don't know what to do.  Can someone help?

Do you have an iCloud backup?  If you backed up your old phone to iCloud you can go to Settings>General>Reset>Erast All Content & Settings (which will erase your phone), then go back through the setup screens again and when prompted choose Restore From iCloud Backup.  However your backup won't contain everything in your iTunes library (such as your music) so you'll need to be able to sync with your computer unless you purchased everything from iTunes and want to redownload it to your phone.

  • HT1296 When i attempt to sync my iphone it continues to say this computer is no longer authorized for apps and they will be deleted?? I don't understand?? I put my password and authorize but same message comes up.  What to do??

When i attempt to sync my iphone it continues to say this computer is no longer authorized for apps and they will be deleted?? I don't understand?? I put my password and authorize but same message comes up.  What to do??

I found the solution in another post.  By deleting all my apps, I was able to sync the phone.  I hope I don't have to delete all my apps every time I want to sync my phone, but at least now I am able to sync my phone.

  • Itunes says my computer isn't authorized to play certain songs but it is.

Due to poor planning on our part, my wife and I have three apple ID's.  For some reason, iTunes now won't play music that was purchased with the oldest apple ID.  Whenever I try to play a song bought with that ID, I get a message saying "This computer is not authorized to play 'Song Name.'  Would you like to authorize it?"  I am then prompted to enter the password for the apple ID.  After I've done that, I get a message saying "This computer is already authorized."  However, it still won't play anything.  I've searched throughout this forum and found similar issues, but all of the solutions seem to be tailored to previous OS and versions of iTunes.  I'm using Mountain Lion and have iTunes 11.2.  I've tried deleting all of the com.apple.iTunes files from Library, but that didn't seem to do anything.  Any help will be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks.  I had already read that article and followed the steps.  The article is outdated and appears to be talking about a previous version of iTunes and/or OS X (I couldn't find a SC Info folder anywhere).  I did figure out the issue on my one.  One of my apple ID's is fakeappleid and the other is [email protected]  When I clicked "Get Info" on the songs that weren't authorized anymore, it said that they were associated with the fakeappleid user name.  Also, iTunes kept prompting me to enter the fakeappleid login info and then telling me that the computer was already authorized.  Only when I tried re-authorizing my computer for [email protected] would my songs play.  So the confusion lies with the fact that iTunes was telling me one apple ID wasn't authorized my computer when it was actually another apple ID that wasn't authorized.  Hope that makes sense.

  • NO LONGER ABLE TO UPLOAD "NO CONFIGURED COMPUTER FOUND ON THE NETWORK" ????

I am stumped because I have uploaded pictures for a long time with no trouble to my computer and it doesn't matter what program software I use whether its Picasa or I photo or any other I assume, I get this message:
"no configured computer found on the network"
and if I use and flash drive it says:
    "device selected is not active."
No matter what method I use on my MAC Tiger and no matter what program whether its Picasa or Iphoto and where i try to load them from whether its a camera or a card reader or through the slot on my printer, i keep getting the message "no configured computer found on the network" and if I use and flash drive it says device selected is not active.
I don't get it. I've uploaded pictures all kinds of times to my computer without this trouble. Where do i need to look, I assume at the computer because it doesn't matter which method I use to load them the computer doesn't work.
    software, computer, hardware, what????

I'm sorry, I apologize, I left a follow-up here when I realized it was DUH not connected with my cable? Like what an idiot. I don't have enough ports and so I had unplugged it.
I know I left a followup but maybe it wasn't saved. Again, sorry. Thanks for your response.

Have macbook pro 2012, running Maverick. Updated to iMovie version 10.0 Opened it. All my clips and projects were there. Then it crashed. Now no clips no projects. If I try and import them they are dimmed. If I try and 'update projects and events' a dialogue box says no files found.
Have tried restarting computer, no joy. Help!!

The reply from Nerval fixed it. It is very simple and it works.
If you have a lot of Projects and  Events, leave the iMovie running for a long time. I had 160G and it took 4hrs. It is doing it in the background so don't shutdown too quick.
    Thanks Nerval.
