SCCM 2012 - Custom Hardware Inventory Report

Hi All
I am looking for a step-by-step on how to build a custom hardware inventory report in SCCM 2012 that is similar to the default Hardware-09A report but with a few added fields.
The fields I am looking to add are
Current logged on user
Monitor make
Monitor Model
Monitor Serial
Also, if I right click and select Edit, the report view does not open to view the SQL statements.
Any assistance is appreciated
Thanks

and is there a solution for the other points I made?
Monitor make
Monitor Model
Monitor Serial

  • Deploying custom report for custom hardware inventory data.

    Hi!
    I want do the following:
    1) Extend Hardware Inventory using my own *.mof file. Like,
    #pragma namespace ("\\\\.\\root\\cimv2\\SMS")
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE),
    SMS_Group_Name ("My Inventory"),
    SMS_Class_ID ("CUSTOM|My_Inventory|4.0") ]
    class My_Inventory : SMS_Class_Template
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] string SerialNumber;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] string SomeData;
    2) Extend Reporting system with my own report that will use data from custom hardware inventory. For example, joins inventoried data with SCCM resources.
    3) Deploy 1) and 2) programmatically to any sccm installation. So, report should not be linked to concrete data source or report server url.
If you know the tools that may help me, it will be very helpful! Many thanks!

You should ask the .rdl part from the SQL Reporting services forums, you should get better answers from there, because this isn't purely a ConfigMgr issue.

  • SCCM 2012 Built in Compliance Report - I don't understand well

SCCM 2012 Built in Compliance Report not understanding
I am using built in compliance reports in SCCM 2012 (Compliance 1 – overall compliance), which is giving me inconsistence report.
For now, I am now updating many of my servers manually and finding out- how I can show compliance report using SCCM
I have a created a software group only for compliance propose for Aug 2014, containing all updates for all versions of Windows Servers. I have not changed/updates that software group.
Before Microsoft released last patches, the software group didn’t have any expired updates.
I had good number of servers, where showing compliant
However, after new patched have released and I have patched some servers manually, I can now see that I have some servers in to Non-compliant section, which were in compliant section two weeks before.
I also have now lots of server showing in: Compliance state unknown, which I didn’t have two weeks before.
I know, client servers supposed to report to SCCM in every 7 days and I can manually push a client to report to SCCM from client agent. Please help me to understand
Why some servers, where compliant before, are now showing non-compliant? How to be certain, which updates are causing trouble
When I check individual server into compliant sections I see that some updates are showing under * Is Required * I also don’t understand how that server is compliant then There are additional number of updates showing up, which are not part of my software
group. Where those extra information are coming from. From WSUS ?
My final goal is to create monthly Software group> deploy that group to install patched. Next month include that group to a compliance group for only compliance reporting purpose. After every quarter, create one compliance group, combing all three
months updates. So I can show to everyone that we have complied until x months.
Before all can happen, I want to understand my compliance report better.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
However, after new patched have released and I have patched some servers manually, I can now see that I have some servers in to Non-compliant section, which were in compliant section two weeks before.
Since the issue occur after you applied the latest patches.  Please check your deployment, you can see the detail error there.
And please make sure update did intalled successfully on these servers.

Yes it is written for CM12 but it is still the same process as CM07.

  • Hardware inventory reports by scom

Is there a way to get managed servers hardware inventory list by scom?

    Hi,
SCCM is more suitable for your requirement. Here is a similar thread for your reference:

  • Hardware Inventory Report through Powershell

    Hi Guys,
I have a custom report within SCCM, which gather information per device such as: Device Name, Operating System, Number of Cores, Logical Processors, SQL Version. This works fine.
I know a lot of this information actually gets stored in WMI on the SCCM server. Is there a particular WMI Namespace/Class from which i can retrieve the above details via powershell? I know of the ClassName: SMS_CombinedDeviceResources, which gives me Operating
System information per device but nothing else.
Is it actually possible to retrieve such info from WMI in SCCM 2012? If it is then please point in the direction of classes to query for the above information. I am also going through: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh948405.aspx to find the same
    information.
    Thank You

SQL isnt bad, you can look online to get sample queries and work from there. You basically pick your view to pull from, choose your columns and then join and limit that as you need to.
Here is a quick example to get the data you asked for:
    select *
    from v_GS_PC_BIOS
It will return all columns, but you can limit those down by typing them after your select clause instead of *.

  • SCCM 2012 - Primary Hardware Failure

    Hi,
I got a hardware issue on SCCM 2012 SP1 primary site server - A and i need to move the primary site server to another machine
    B. I have renamed the new machine B as primary site server name and also i got a pure backup in place. Below are some clarity needed
    1. Do i need to do any changes in AD like removing the old SCCM primary site server A and again add B server in system management container? Is there any changes i should do in AD?
    2. Once after recovering B server does all the secondary and DP will report to new B server? or do i need to any changes?
    3. I have provided local admin access on all the site servers for A server? Do i need to re-add B server once again?
Probably in 1 week time A server hardware issue will be fixed. Can i shutdown B and turn On A. Do i need to do the same as above?
    Regards, Pratap

    #1: no changes needed
#2: everything should work again after the restore
#3: ConfigMgr should take care of it. You would see errors in sender.log of a secondary site if it is no longer able to communicate with its parent primary.

  • SCCM 2012 Linux "Installed Applications" report

    Hello,
Is there a report built-in that can tell me what is installed on a Linux box?
I can see it is displayed in Hardware Inventory, but is not pulling any data on the Software reports.
Does a custom report needs to be built in order to pull this data?
    Regards,
    LeonardoT

    Based on the information provided
here about the classes included in the inventory on Linux clients, I would assume that a report like
Software registered in Add Remove Programs on a specific computer
    will show data.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 upgrade & broken reports

After upgrading to R2, everything went off w/o a hitch until we tried to run reports (see below for error)
Weird part is *some* of the admins can run reports just fine (for instance, two separate AD groups that are a part of the Full Administrators within SCCM, one can run, while the others cannot).  We can also do this solution: http://www.netdavidic.com/2013/11/how-to-fix-sccm-2012-r2-reporting.html .
While this works, it is not a viable solution moving forward.
Our setup is pretty simple; single site server w/ all services, 2-3 DP's etc.  Server 2012, SQL 2012 SP1.  We upgraded from SCCM 2012 SP1.

    Update:
TL;DR If you're running SQL services under a different context other than Local Service, you'll have problems.
The ultimate solution was this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/77bad9b6-de0e-42d3-ae9f-e7c9d26b4330/reporting-error-after-upgrading-to-sccm-2012-r2?forum=configmanagergeneral
However, I'll provide a bit more detail in case anyone else runs into this.
In our environment, we run all SQL services as a separate account, say domain\CMSQLSERVICE account (so if you looked at the services, you'd see SQL Server, SQL Server Agent & SQL Server Reporting Services all running as CMSQLSERVICE).  We also run
reporting as another account, say domain\CMSQLREPORTING account (SCCM console, Admin, Site Config, Servers & Sites, Reporting services point).  Placing CMSQLREPORTING account into the Windows Authorization Access Group did not resolve the issue as
I had thought.  We then placed CMSQLSERVICE account in there & everything worked as intended.
You'll be able to easily see the errors by looking on the reporting point / server with the SQL database for C:\Users\ACCOUNTRUNNINGSQLSERVICE\AppData\Local\Temp .
It took procmon to lead me to that location for the ultimate solution.

  • SCCM 2012 SSRS modify default reporting Link

    Hi,
We have a requirement in SCCM 2012 reporting to change the default reporting link (http://netbiosname/reports ) to (http://fqdn/reports ) , the reason is users from
a different domain are not able to access the link with NetBIOS name when the link is sent to them from a report subscription.
How do we modify the default reporting link to show with FQDN instead of NetBIOS name ?
    Tried :
We have tried to add the FQDN on the SQL SSRS - restarted SQL reporting services - restarted IIS - restarted SMS service ,  but still the FQDN report link wont show up on the SCCM console.
Also tried to make changes in SSRS config file but now luck.

    Hi,
    >>We have tried to add the FQDN on the SQL SSRS - restarted SQL reporting services - restarted IIS - restarted SMS service ,  but still the FQDN report link wont show up on the SCCM console.
Please add the FQDN as the screenshot below and remove the existing one. Reinstall the Reporting Services Point after add the FQDN.
