SCCM 2012 R2 5.0.7958.1000

Question

I am standing up a new site but my Management point is at 0 bytes.  I applied the CU 1 update and tried to apply the update 2 but it says it does not apply to the version of SCCM I have installed.  I am getting the following error: Site Component
Manager failed to install this component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component (MP.msi) could not install. 
Have any of you seen this issue.  Thanks.

Is this a separate server?  If so, you need to either ensure the Computer Account of the primary
site server is a Local Admin or specify user account to use which is an admin on that server.
Have you installed all the prerequisites for that role?

The MPSetup.log and mpMSI.log files are useful for troubleshooting the failure to install the management
point role.
