SCCM 2012 R2 PxE can't boot - your pc need to be repired.

Dear All,
These days, I upgraded SCCM 2012 to R2 , after that PxE can't boot , and shows a blue screen that your pc need to be repired, same issue like this:http://www.gerryhampsoncm.blogspot.ie/2013/02/sccm-2012-task-sequence-fails-with-bcd.html
And, i have also re-configed the pxe more times follow by this acticle , and still failed.
And, after I replace the \RemoteInstall\SMSTemp\2014.01.08.12.31.26.01.{xxxxxxxxx}.boot.bcd to \RemoteInstall\Tmp\x86x64{xxxxxxx}.bcd, and the PC can boot to the winpe well. that means the pc using Tmp folder's BCD store
to boot to WinPE, and not using SMSTemp's.
I check the PxE process:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722358(v=ws.10).aspx
PXEBoot.com downloads Bootmgr.exe and the BCD store, and I think PXEBoot.com should download BCD store from SMSTemp folder, and should not be the Tmp folder.
So, my question is that why te PXEBoot.com download BCD from Tmp folder ? And how can I change it to download BCD from SMSTemp folder. ? I have been getting to crazy about this fucking problem.
Nemo

Reinstalling WDS and the PXE was not the answer, at least not for me, but I dunno about the original poster as he kept quiet.
For now I am trying to get SCCM2012 R2 running as this is the topic for my final projekt.
But I am stuck here, the problem is the same as the original poster mentioned.
Even thougt DHCP options are set to my CM and smsboot\x86\wdsnbp.com, pxe keeps loading boot\... and fails.
Making a copy from smsboot to boot and renaming the file fixes it in a dirty way.
The WDS-service has never been configured manually, after rolling back to a fresh Server and installing CU1 first nothing changed about that (PXE worked at all at least) und reinstalling the living dead out of the roles and features fixes nothing.
The remoteinstall folder gets populated everytime, with the SMS related stuff and the wds related stuff, I guess (boot, SMSboot, ...).
I tried various variations of the start path, TFTP still loads from boot instead smsboot.
The Images have been temporarily replaced with the one from our old site.
I renewed the whole site, this bugs me since 2012 R1 and R2 is the second site too.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help with an working solution.
Let me know if you need some more informations, site is described below.
In case this should get another Thread, let me know.
Thank you guys :)
Hyper-V Environment, Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard on all three Hosts (Gen 2),
Followed mainly the MS TLG for SCCM2012 for this, supported by windows-noob.
Have a nice day.
Little Edit right here: renaming the file only helps with the 89 error thing, but it doesn't help booting the sccm image.

  • SCCM 2012 what setting can be enabled so that no system force users to restart

SCCM 2012 what setting can be enabled in design rather then software distribution method and patching method which will help
to stop systems to restart even though not suppressed during in patching.

That's not possible. When during installation the restart is not suppressed, the system will restart. There is nothing from a ConfigMgr perspective that will prevent that from happening.
If there is a particular system that you want to stop from restarting you could try to prevent that by using the command shutdown -a.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 PXE Boot to Lenovo T540p 20BE

Can someone help me PXE Boot a Lenovo T540/T440 laptop? Is there some type of settings that need to be changed in the BIOS or something?
It keeps failing and Lenovo Phone Support could not tell me how to do it.
I performed the following per Lenovo Tech Support:
    I first go into BIOS>Security>Secure Boot>Disabled
    Startup>UEFI/Legacy Boot>Legacy Only
    Restart>Load Setup Defaults>OS Optimized Defaults>Disabled
I press FN + F12 to network book, this appears in 1 second:
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration data for your PC is missing or contain errors.
    File:\boot\bscd
    Error Code: 0xc000000f
This occured on a brand new T540p out of the box. I am getting these on all 4 of my laptops that just arrived today. Can anyone help me out here or guide me to the right direction?
Note: I downloaded the SCCM Package drivers from Lenovo Support site and updated my Boot Images x86 and x64, still nothing.

I can create an USB OSD bootable media and that works just fine but I do not want to USB Boot image 30 machines over the course of this fiscal year...sigh

  • SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 Can't Edit WMI Query Code in Report Builder

I first posted this in the SCCM but the issue is not solved so I thought I'd try here in the SQL Reporting forum. Original thread here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b0a6ca3d-7471-4b49-8447-7403a65c2ec0/sccm-2012-r2-cu2-cant-edit-wmi-query-code-in-sccm-reports?forum=configmanagergeneral
I'll repost info here to make this easier.....
I built a new SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 suite on Server 2012 R2. This also uses SQL 2012 SP1 CU6. This suite has 4 servers: site server, two for WSUS and secondary DPs, and SQL. This problem is true for the built in reports and my custom reports. Our SQL guy has
been helping me a lot but we've gotten nowhere. I can run a report. I can open one in edit mode after it prompts me for credentials. It loads Report Builder 3.0. But when I go to a dataset/query, enter credentials, and try to open it, I get a popup that
says "Unable to connect to data source. 'AutoGen_5C6358F2_yayak..." When I click on details it says "The target principal name is incorrect. A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login
process.  (SSL Provider, error: 0 -The target principal name is incorrect.)" In SQL Reporting Services Config Manager the paths for Web Service URL is
http://ip.ip.ip.ip:80/ReportServer_SC01 and for Report Manager URL:
http://ip.ip.ip.ip:80/Reports_SC01. A domain account is used to login. This happens when you r-click a dataset and select query to edit the code of a dataset, ie, when query designer tries to open up. It happens
in both Admin Console and when using the Report Manager URL within SQL SSRS. All other functions of using edit mode of a report work fine.
    Ben JohnsonWY

When I do that, browse is dimmed out.
But, if I deselect "create a data set" and click "choose an existing dataset in this report..." there is no data connection at the end.
But if I don't use report builder and instead use IE to browse to my ConfigMgr_ABC, I do see the connection at the end: {123...}.
This problem is on a network that is not on the 'net, so it's hard to do screen shots, so I'll reproduce this problem step by step:
I pick a report to edit, it doesn't matter which one.
If I try it in Admin Console, I right-click, Edit the report, it asks me for a login, I login, then I get a popup that says "Cannot continue. The application is improperly formatted. Contact the vendor for assistance. I click the Details button and
get a long set of text but the key part is "Your web browser settings do not allow you to run signed applications." This msg didn't appear before, so something changed, so I will investigate. I think it used to give a SPN error.
If I use IE within report builder and navigate to whatever report, click open, everything works, except, when I click on Dataset0 (the key one I normally need to edit), click query, it prompts me for a login and no matter which one I use, i get a popup that
says "unable to connect to data source 'AutoGen_123...'". If I click details I get "the targe principal name is incorrect. A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider:
SSL Provider 0-The target principal name is incorrect.)

  • SCCM 2012 R2 PXE not working because DHCP Option 43 is configured to AVAYA

    Hello!
We are having some issues with PXE and OS Deployment with some computers.
We tested computers DELL, PXE and DHCP works without any issues. But we tested some HP computers and we received the error  PXE-E77 Bad or missing discovery server list
We investigate that error and found that is related with the Option 43 Vendor Specific Info is enable on the DHCP Server, the solution that we tested and works as expected is create a new scope on the DHCP and without enable the Option 43.
That was a temporary solution for the issue, nevertheless we need to use PXE over our network, and we cannot remove the Option 43 on the DHCP configured for AVAYA, so we need a solution that can coexist with PXE and Option 43 on the DHCP.
We will apreciate any advice on this issue.
    Thank in advance.

    Manuel´s Microsoft Forums Threads

The easiest way to deal with this problem is not to use DHCP scope options. Implement IP Helpers instead. It is straightforward to configure and is the only MS supported way anyway.

  • Upgrade to SCCM 2012 R2 Failed - Can I Simply Move SCCM Database to Replacement SCCM 2012 R2 System?

I started with SCCM 2012 RTM and attempted an upgrade to SCCM 2012 R2.  The upgrade failed and left the the system unusable.  I was able to recover the entire system (single server) from backup.
Rather than risk another failed upgrade can I simply build a new server and move the existing SCCM database to a new SCCM 2012 R2 system?

    Hi,

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Cu1: Can I reinstall the Reporting Services Point role without delete or change the SSRS-DB?

Hi, I have some issue with the reports,
Can I reinstall the SCCM Reporting Services Point role without delete or change the SSRS-DB (just reset the SCCM SSRS function)?
I have saved/backup the custom made reports.
    /SaiTech

Yes you can remove and reinstall the Role.  I had to do this recently on our SCCM 2012 R2 due to an issue with the reports not loading.   Found out that the problem with reports was from the upgrade to R2 from 2012 SP1 and was able to run
a command to re-register the reports with WMI.  I actually removed the role, uninstalled reporting services feature from SQL, deleted the report databases, reinstalled the SQL feature, configured the reporting databases again, added the role back, and
    ran the following command.
    mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"
This allowed all my reports to register as they should have and run without errors.  If you are having similar problems, you may be able to just run that command to get reports running without all the extra work I did.  For us we were getting an
invalid Class error in the srsrp.log.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 PXE Issue to Hyper-V VM Windows 7 and 8.1

    Good day
I've looked for solutions and there are very similar cases to mine but none of the solutions worked... unless I missed something...
    I'm running out of ideas.
I had an issue with my boot image drivers not wanting to distribute and I got an error every time I try to update the boot image.
So I removed all of the drivers, distributed and the error went away. Then I reloaded my network drivers and lo and behold, I can't PXE to VMs anymore!
Deploying to physical hardware works 100%, its just my virtual machines. When I deploy, it loads up my WIM file, gets to the stage
where it says preparing network connections and then it restarts without an error (basically bombs out at the part where it is supposed to start formatting the disks).
I've confirmed network connectivity by using the F8 command window.  Here is my SMSTS log file.  Any help is appreciated.
Hyper-V storage drivers maybe? Yes... before anyone asks, I am using a legacy NIC on the VM and I'm on a subnet that
    is setup in SCCM boundaries.
Logs are from x:\windows\temp\smstslog for anyone from the future reading this and having the same issue as me.
    Help would be greatly appreciated!

I found the answer! FINALLY! Solution!
So, only a couple of things you have to do:
Go to Administration in the console and go to Boundary Groups.
Right click on the item and go to properties.
    Go to the Reference tab.
And enable “Use this boundary group for site assignment” and choose for the correct site.
Also add the content location. Choose for your distribution point.
I was on a subnet that was set up in boundaries, BUT I did not assign the boundary group :-/
I hope this helps someone one day.

  • SCCM 2012 and PXE

I have a client assigned to site PR1 and I deploy a pxe task sequence to my imaging collection which this machine belongs too.  I can see the task sequence in the deployment tab of the properties for the client.    I also have verified the
deployment is pxe enabled.     But I get a pxe abort here is my log.
The pxe point we are hitting, because of helpers, is in site PR2.   So my question is if a client from PR1 with an advertisement PXE's to a distribution point assigned to PR2 will it not run?  (a deployment to unknown computers works just fine)

as Torsten mentioned "make sure that both boot images are deployed to the PXE-enabled"
you may have missed the make visible to PXE check box when creating the image deployment. it will still see your task as a deployment, just not PXE visible.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - PXE error

    Hi All,
I am trying to do a OS build via SCCM task sequence for esprimo c720. PXE boot is working fine but after the windows screen it goes blank and restarts in which i have tried below troubleshooting steps like
    1. Updating the relevant drivers on the boot image
    2. Verified drivers are getting installed manually and also standalone image is working fine
    3. Enabled Command support and did IPconfig (Gave Windows IP configuration) and diskpart (gave disk space) which is fine i think
But when  i try to ping the SCCM primary and DP server. It throws error as
PING TRANSMIT FAILED:GENERAL FAILURE. So i concluded the network adaptor with esprimo c720 has some issues. Is there any steps i need to try further. Please help

  • Thinkpad 10 SCCM 2012 R2 x64 WINPE OSD boot wim

Trying to inject drivers in to my CM12 x64 boot wim (ADK and MDT 2013 integration with CM12) for the new Thinkpad 10 Tablet.  The x86 worked flawlessly and touch screen works on the x86 builds even my S1 Yoga.  Errors galore with the x64 versions of the drivers from the SCCM pack.  Being UEFI boot only both versions are needed and not all my locations will have the dock for using a keyboard so touch just needs to work.
Here is what successfully got added, the 2 display drivers and thats it.  I started with all the drivers and worked in reverse by removing each driver after every error.
    from SCCM:
Success: Drivers that will be included:
    Realtek USB GBE Family Controller
    Lenovo USB2.0 Ethernet Adapter
Intel(R) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller
Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller
Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller
Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA AHCI Controller
    Realtek USB GBE Family Controller
    VMware Pointing Device
    VMware USB Pointing Device
    VMware PVSCSI Controller
    VMware SVGA 3D
    VMware VMCI Bus Device
    vmxnet3 Ethernet Adapter
    Intel(R) HD Graphics
    ThinkPad Display 640x480
    Realtek USB GBE Family Controller
Any help is appreciated and parkerj, as usual I am willing to be your huckleberry if needed.  On a unrelated item any tips for removing the lenovo scup data from my wsus/scup environment?  We had an issue and now i cannot publish the data.  Whick makes me sad as I think the Lenovo SCUP catalog shows good progress.  Primary issue is knowing what applies to what without publishing everything.

    Hi,
    UEFI BIOS Version: GWET23WW (1.23)
I have managed to implement drivers in a different way. I have created a package containing all drivers and placed it in a part of task sequence running inside installed operating system instead of running in WinPE. There is a script inside a package looking like this:
    Start /w .\win\Chipset\setup.exe -s
    Start /w pnputil -i -a .\WIN\TXEI\INF\TXEI.inf
    Start /w setup.exe -SILENT
    Start /w .\WIN\Audio\setup.exe /s
    Start /w .\WIN\Bluetooth\setup.exe /s
    Start /w .\WIN\Fingerprint\WBF_SPI_DDK_Extended_Setup.exe /s
    Start /w .\WIN\GPS\setup.msi /qn
    Start /w .\HOTKEY\setup.exe /S /B /H
    pnputil -i -a .\WIN\MONITOR\TPLCD.INF
    Start /w .\WIN\NFC\setup.exe /s
    Start /w .\WIN\PMDriver\setup.exe -S -SMS
    Start /w .\WIN\WLAN\setup.exe -s
    reg import .\OSFIXES\ALSOR\ALSOR_Apply.reg
For anyone interested just make sure you follow correct paths to executables as presented in this script.
After running it I am left with Security Device unrecognized in Device Manager so I have to add another task sequence for Restart and than another one with a line with a package for Security Device and runing this as a command: pnputil -i -a TXEI.inf
Using regular pre-driver deploy task sequence commands in WinPE enviorenment unfortunately didn't helped so I have ended with workarounds presented here.
If anyone can add something to this I will be more than glad to hear.

  • PXE : can't boot (initramfs ?) [solved]

    Hi all !
I have followed these tutorials on pxe, step by step, more than once :
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … t_NFS_root
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … t_NBD_root
But I always have the same problem : "Boot failled".
The client computer is able to get the tftp server address and get the kernel.
So it loads the vmlinuz-linux and it's "OK".
Then it loads the initramfs and ... never end. After a moment, the client finally shows "Boot failled" (no other message ).
I tried to remake the initramfs with mkinitcpio, but nothing change. I had check the NFS share (for the first tutorial), and it was accessible through network.
So I need help please , I don't know what to do.
Currently, I have the exact same configuration that the second tutorial (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … t_NBD_root)
EDIT : The solution is :

I am using default tftp-hpa with xinetd.
That is not tftp-hpa, but iputils/tftpd, which is sort of broken. tftp-hpa is in /usr/sbin/in.tftpd, and there is no xinetd file for it currently (only rc.d script and systemd socket-activated unit).
tuxtard wrote:Well guys, that was IT! When I switched to tftp-hpa I was able to boot normally. Now we all know that we should stay clear of xinetd and use regular tftp-hpa. That was the only problem in the Network boot guide I was following. Thank you all so much on your help!
    Thank you all !

arch-chroot, that sounds like you are using the LiveCD to do that with, and not daisychaining off of a running ArchLinux.
Check /etc/conf.d/tftpd to make sure it is pointing to /srv/tftp it used to be /var/tftpboot
And you changed the paths in pxelinux.cfg/default: kernel diskless/boot/vmlinuz-linux and not /diskless/boot/vmlinuz-linux
If you changed /etc/exports, you did exportfs -r
And you have mkinitcpio-nfs-utils installed?  For net HOOK and nfs modules it would have to be installed to make an initramfs image.
Just comment out everything below kernel and see what it does just for grins or comment out the default line and go to the pxelinux command line and type the kernel line manually.  It should respond back with some hexidecimal numbers showing it loaded properly.  Then type in initrd=diskless/boot/initramfs-linux.img without the rest of it and see if it takes the initramfs or what error it shows.
Your screenshot is missing a / for TFTP prefix, not sure if this would change anything.
If nothing else go to your initramfs-linux image and type lsinitcpio initramfs-linux.img | less to see it's contents.
It does say in the wiki article that tftp is basically just the pxelinux.cfg, pxelinux.0, and the vmlinuz-linux and initramfs-linux.img files, and that you could actually have the NFS root located on another server and mount it.  I just save the steps of having to copy the new kernel files over to tftp by just having the root filesystem underneath the tftp directory and have the pxelinux.cfg/default just call the kernel from underneath the tftp directory (in the same place), it just saves an extra step.  Maybe your network card is having collisions on the network and corrupting the image.
