SCCMReporting.log growing under %AppData%\Local\Temp

Tried to lookup this from the net, but couldn't find anything.. so the problem is that my reporting services account on the reporting services point is having this logfile called SCCMReporting.log under %AppData%\Local\Temp and it consumes 30GB of disk
space... Any idea where this all is coming from or how to disable the entire log? Everything is working fine on the reports.

Already tried searching the registry, no go.
After stopping reporting services service, I could delete the file and obtain the used space but when the service is started again, the logfile starts growing.
grab a copy of the logfile whilst it's still small, so you can analyse it

  • Excessive .pdb files under \Users\sp_admin\AppData\Local\Temp

    30k+ folder/files in the \AppData\Local\Temp\ folder for my sp_admin, sp_service, sp_farm profiles.
My reading suggest this is developer debugging? Can someone confirm and provide some guidance on how to turn this off?
    Server SPF 2010
I have only used SP Designer and InfoPath and have no recall of turning something like this on.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Stunpals,
In most cases, it is safe to delete files in %temp% folder. In case of deleting mistakenly, I’d recommend using Disk Cleanup tool. If you have Desk Experience feature installed on your Server, please hold window key and click R, then input Cleanmgr.exe
and click OK. Disk Cleanup tool can used to delete unnecessary files on disk safely.

  • Is Thunderbird downloading trojans to \AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp?

I'm running Thunderbird on Win 8.1, 64 bit, with Windows Defender and EMET. When I get malicious looking emails (some with attachments) I don't open them, but forward them to us-cert.gov and UCE.GOV reporting email addresses. I am viewing emails in text only mode. I run a virus scan afterwards and a detection has been coming up for trojans in container file C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp, usually with a file extension .scr (as stated in Defender info output). Is a infected file being downloaded to my computer for Thunderbird operations? Is this file benign until opened? I was under the impression that it just forwarded the file from the server. Can anyone advise/explain on this matter? Thank you in advance!

    Thanks Matt;
That's what I was wondering was if the file needed to be activated to be damaging. I'll still scan this directory, although I don't know why my virus scanner isn't picking it up when Thunderbird downloads to this directory.
Hey, remember the days (90's) when the Internet was a nice benign place to be? Now-a-days the Internet is looking like a dark back alley somewhere, or something out of a horrific science fiction movie. Always have to be vigilant.
    Thanks! Have a good weekend!

  • When firefox trys to auto update, or I manually download the new version, or some but not all downloads off of the web, I get this error message. C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)

    Hi TedRayWesty,
When your computer “wake up” from “sleep” mode, the RAM will be able to respond to a wake-up event and calling files for program. There might be a calling failure. I searched about your temp folder name and the temp file name and seems like it is not a system
file and it is called by some third party software.
Try following steps to resolve your issue
Please perform a clean boot and see if the issue still persist.
Check the other contents in ScrC777.temp folder see if you could identify the software.(seems like some Security Software or Anti-Spyware)
Uninstall it and delete the temp folder see what happens.

  • Failure message C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS2FA3\setup\SolutionCenter\

system win 7 pro 64.  Wireless Network printer Photosmart C7250
HP Solutions software failed to work.  I tried to reinstall software from HP web site.  Everytime I try to rerun it I get the error cannot find  C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS2FA3\setup\SolutionCenter\  and says failure to complete install.
    HELP.

    Hi,
Click the Start menu and typ %temp% into the search box, open the listed Temp folder and locate the HP installation which starts with the 7z characters.
pen the Setup Folder, then the Solution Center Folder and copy that path.
Once the error appear, click on Browse and past the copied path for that folder, confirm any prompt and check for any difference.
If the same error persists, rename the temp folder you have the files to 7zS2FA3 and click Retry on the error screen, then check if that may go any further.

  • Appdata\Local\Temp\Guest mean???

what this mean?? 8 is my user name of my computer..
    but why guest icon created??
    guest user can not login..right??
is there no connection with hacked my computer??
    hmm..can't insert image..

    Hi,
Yes, guest user can not login if not activated, guest account is created with the system installation, but it is disabled by default, I am not sure whether the computer is hacked, but I would really appreciate it if you can post a screenshot of the account
settings. Appdata\AppData\Local\Temp is a folder used to store temporary files, normally, there won’t be a Guest folder, what kind of file is there in your computer, a screenshot will be a great help to analyze this.

    Hi,
The suggestion provided by Maffiow is worthy to try. Msconfig can tell you some on things loaded on startup. Do any of the items listed refer to that file?
In addition, it states that your windows 7 is missing some system files. And definitely it would be some important to file to your windows. You better check it with performing a Clean Boot.

The path which you have shown here is a path for temporary file. I think there will be something wrong with your system temp folder. For this Clear the redundant files in temporary folder. You can do this by performing the following steps.
    a. Restart the computer to Safe Mode.
    b. Click Start and click Control Panel.
    c. Click Classic View and choose Folder Options.
    d. Click View tab, choose Show hidden files and folders box, click Apply and click OK.
    e. Click Start -> Computer.
    f. Go to C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\Temp folder.
    g. Select all files in the Temp folder and delete them. Click Yes when prompted.
    h. Restart the computer to Normal Mode for a test.
    Hope it helps.

    Hello @doug1234 ,
I read your post about the virus you had, and now are having an issue with re-installing your Photosmart C8180. I will try to help you!
Please go back into your temp folder, delete all of the files it will allow you to, close out of the temp folder and download and reinstall the printer again with your firewall and/or anti-virus temporarily disabled. Let me know what happens, including any specific error messages and codes.
When you respond, please include which Operating System you're running and I will look into this further for you, to see what else we can try.
    What's my Operating System?

  • I have changed cache location but FF4 continues to use appdata/local/temp for storing actual files

    I use FF 4.0.1
I changed the location of the disk cache by going to
    about:cache
    and changing browser.disk.cache.parent_directory
    to a new location
yet FF4 still stores files at the old location

Thanks! Actually firefox DOES create a folder called Cache and fill it with lots of other folders. The problem is that when it comes to actual files, they land at the original appdata/local folder :(
