Schedule a Webi report from the CMC

Hi, ALL
Is there a way to schedule a Webi report from the CMC without using an email account in the
'from' box? There are other placeholders that can be used but I don't know how
to use them please advise.
Thanks.

Hermant,
You need to make sure you configure the proper email server.   Go to the CMC - Server > AdaptiveJobServer>Destination>Email.  You may need to enable Email as one of the Destinations.
You must configure all the HIGHLIGHTED options.

Ajay

    Hi Venkat,
At present, there is no standard functionality available in SAP NetWeaver 2004s BW/BOBJ that offers this integration and automation. But you can do it as given in following link

  • How to schedule a WebI Report for the list of users that it contains in it

I have a WebI Report in BOXIr2 which contains the list of Employees Details (Employee Name, Mail ID, Emp Code) who had missed their timesheet for the week, Please let me know Is their a way that i can send mail notification through BO report Scheduling to the list of Employees who are listed in the Report, Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
in BO XI 3.1 you can do this using a publication object. Unfortunately in XI R2 this works only for DeskI documents. You may want to consider using the BOE SDK for this. I must admit that I do not have a specific solution for you a workflow may look like this:
    1) Schedule your WebI with the user list to be exported on a network drive
    2) Build a java program that reads in the file, connects to the BOBJ repository and schedules the report using the recepient list.

  • Open the WebI report from Xcelsius dashboard

    Hi All,
I would like to know how to open the WebI report from the xcelsius dashboard.
Looking at the previous posts I followed the following steps to implement the same but that is not working.
Inserted the component URL button and used the folowing link:
    http://servername/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sIDType=XXX
But this is givingerre: " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Also, tried the copying the reprot link, but that is opening the Infoview login page.
I want the report to opened when we click the URL button.
Could someone please provide me a solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sindhu

did you try passing the iDocID parameter? When prompted did you try to login to InfoView and check whether Report gets displayed?
Ideally the URL should be as below:
If you want to bypass the logon screen, you need to modify the OpenDocument.jsp to pass logon token to the above URL i.e.token=+token where the +token is being retrieved by sdk.

  • How to Run Oracle Reports from the web.

How can we run Oracle Reports from the web - for example from a portal such as "Gateway"
This is a univeristy that implements Banner - so can we run them from within Banner?

Yes, of course. And for running the reports-server you need an OAS. Maybe here is a good starting point http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/reports.html

  • Is it possible to schedule a Webi report based on another input, i.e. expose a time in which a process was finished.

These are Webi, user created reports.
Is it possible to schedule a Webi report based on another input, i.e. expose a time in which a process was finished (this can be obtained via a SQL call, service call, etc).
The issue is that if a user schedules a report for 9PM but a process to move data, etc has not completed then that forces the user to keep re-freshing the report hoping that the process has been complete.
Ideally, in the selection UI add to the dropdown for 'when' the option 'Use Process X completion Time' (since it is a daily report).
Then starting around 9PM check to see if that 'time" value is populated then refresh (run) the report. Or it could just be a flag that the process has finished.
User's in the webi environment are asking for this, and moving their reprots to BO is not an option. That's why they have the custom webi enviroment.
    Thank you.

There is no very good way to create a working event based on a file as the file will need to be deleted as soon as the event is triggered. However there are work around which can be done for this. Here is a link which is discussing about the process.. http://scn.sap.com/thread/1677109
Once you have created a file based even in CMC > Events> System Events and made a work around program to delete the file once the event is trigged all you would need to do in webi is in launchpad just schedule > Events > select the file based event from all available system events. Here is a screenshot how to make a report run based on a event..

  • Regional Settings when scheduling a webi report

    Hello,
    I have BOXIR2 SP4 installed on a Windows 2003 Server.
When I run a Webi Report In the Infoview Portal (or in webi), that means when I refresh a report or save a report to Excel or PDF Format or the date format is correct.   When I schedule this report from Infoview, it's also ok.
Correct Format ==> format of the language defined in the Infovier User Interface Settings.
(infoview in french --> french format ,  infoview in english --> english format)
But, When I schedule this report from the Central Management Consle (CMC), the date are displayed in the english or american format :  02/11/10  instead of  11.02.2010
I check the "Regional and Language Options" on my Windows Server and the language is set to "French (Switzerland)".
All the BO Services are running with the 'Local_system Account'.
I don't understand why it is not taking the French language to generate the reports... ? Which parameter or file based on?
How to change this behavior ?  It is a way to "force" BO to take an other language ?
A big thank you for your help! I have already gone through the forum but found nothing concrete ...

    Hello wavery,
I finally solved my problem. And In fact it was very simple   I thought that by leaving the default value "Use Interface locale" under the web Intelligence Tab, the settings defined in the interface were taken into account, but this is clearly not the case!
My settings were defined as follows :
Infoview > Preferences > General > My interface locale is ... --> French (Switzerland)
Infoview > Preferences > Web Intelligence > Select a format locale:  --> Use Interface locale
(I don't understand why the French were not chosen because my interface was defined in French ??)
    My settings, after modification:
Infoview > Preferences > General > My interface locale is ... --> French (Switzerland)
Infoview > Preferences > Web Intelligence > Select a format locale:  --> French (Switzerland)
    >>> It works !
    Thanks for your Help...

    Hi,

    Steps to reproduce the error:
    1. Login to CMC
    2.  View Webi History.
    3.  Open successful instance  (For the 1st or 2nd time reports are opening up, from the 3rd time it just freeze the session)
    4. After it get freeze we need to close the IE using Task Manager.
Can any one please suggest a resolution for this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hello Gokul,
first thing is to check is if your chrome version is supported by your current BO version as specified in the PAM (is it?). If the chrome version is supported, and you still have an issue, then you can check with a sap support engineer.

  • Error when try to schedule a Webi Report

    Good day every one:
Can anyone please help me to solve this problem??? the issue is this, I want to schedule a Webi report but when i clic on Schedule and go to Format and Destinations tab, i got this message:
    displayErrorMessage="VIEWER:VIEWER_ERR_DEFAULT (Error: INF )"; traceErrorMessage="\u003Cinput type="hidden" name="BENCHERROR" value="Error Number :  - Error Description : VIEWER:_VIEWER_ERR_DEFAULT"\u003E";
And i can not see the formats availables to schedule the report and of course i can not see the configuration and destinations options.
Looking for an answer i found this:
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1537527
but that is an old post and i can not find the file mentioned there, can somebody please help me to fix this???
    We are using:
    BOBJ 3.1 SP3
    Windows Server 2003
    32 bits
    Regards

    I just found this
I was able to fix the issue by replacing the webiviewer.properties file with the file from the WARFILES\WEBAPPS directory. The webiviewer.properties file looks like it was corrupt as there was only 1 line in the file. After replacing and restarting the servers there's no longer an error when selecting Formats & Destinations.
I checked those webiviewer.properties and like you , one of them had only 1 line, about the language.
So I replace the one from Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\WEB-INF\classes with the one in the folder Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\classes
My guess is that this properties is corrupted because of the installation of other language. What should be done is updating the file with the new language parameters but what is done is a replace of the file.
I foun that in this link
    http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?t=150796&sid=bad10669f42c6de2b77e37b03122334d
I will apply this and if im success i let you know

  • Scheduled a webi report and set it send to EMAIL.

Our customer found when they scheduled a webi report and set it send to EMAIL, it will cost much more time than usual after they have their SIA restarts.
The first time it takes 4-5 times longer to receive a report in mailbox than next time onwards.
    Please help.
    Thanks Much,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abishek,
If the schedule is taking 4-5 times longer to schedule following the SIA restart I suppose it is possible that the Webi Job Server and Webi Processing Servers are not fully registered with the CMS - can you check that.
Also can you test by ensuring that if there are any Webi Job Servers\Webi Processing Servers in the environment which are stopped\disabled, can you retest after deleting those servers. There is a bug with XI3.1:
    ADAPT01371367
    Description:
Scheduled jobs often have a delay when the system is upgraded to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 FP 2.2 or FP 2.3.This problem also happens when some of the servers required for scheduling are stopped and disabled. In this case, the Adaptive Job Server (AJS) tries to confirm if all available Webi Report Servers are running, and this causes the delay in running the scheduled jobs.
    New Behavior:
    This problem has been resolved.
Do you have a test system where you could install FP3.1 and check the fix?
The only "workaround" I could suggest would be to ensure that all services needed for the schedule are running\enabled (Adaptive Job Servers and Webi Processing Servers). This will stop the Adaptive Job Server from its continual querying for those servers. The adverse effect of this is that the more unnecessary services which are running will necessitate increased network communication.
To check if this is the actual issue you are hitting, you would need to trace the schedule and check for messages like this in the logs:
[2010-08-27 12:02:08,769] [TID:24] [ERROR] [webi.PublishingHelper.<init>():89]: unable to retrieve all mandatories servers to proceed this job
Alternatively, log a message with SAP Support for further investigation.

  • When deleting running crystal report from BOE CMC, it leaves Oracle thread?

hi,  Yesterday, we discovered an anomaly.  From BOE's CMC, I deleted a running Crystal Report instance. I believed that this would "cancel" the running report. However, later, it produced a message.  It apparently kept on running in Oracle until it finished.
My question: when I delete a job from BOE's CMC, what else must we do to cancel it from continuing in Oracle? Apparently, it continued to be a "thread" in Oracle.
What additional steps should I take or are there any setup steps?  Thank you.
Our BOE version (copied from the CMC about screen) is: Product: 12.1.0 © 2008 Business Objects (or Product Version:      12.2.0.290).
    Thank you,
    Dean

I'd just been trying instructions in SAP note: 1407795 when this reply came through.... I can confirm this worked for me.
The error codes I found in the Windows Event viewer, both yesterday and today are listen below:
    RCIRAS0240
    RCIRAS0622
    RCIRAS0567
    RCIRAS0244
The issues that are described in this post and the ones I have seen first-hand  when the screen hangs when viewing this report on-demand, or the report running for a longer than expected time when scheduled, are covered by the above error codes.
A known cause of the issues you are experiencing is that when these particular reports were created, a network printer was specified as the default printer, this printer may now either be unavailable, IP address may have changed, etc.
There do seem to be two options available:
Option 1 - Remove the printer driver dependency
Open this report in the Crystal Reports Designer.
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup.
    Select the No Printer option.
Option 2 - Add or correct the printer that the report is designed with
Open the Report in the Crystal Reports Designer
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup
Make not of the printer that is listed in the Page Setup dialog
Log on to the BusinessObjects Enterprise Server that houses the Crystal Reports Processing Servers.
Make sure you log in as the user account that runs the Crystal Reports services.  This is generally the account that runs the Service Intelligence Agent (SIA)
Go to Control Panel and click on Printers
Ensure that the same printer is configured on the server that is used in the Crystal Report
In the printer already exists, try removing it and re-adding it.
