Schedule Backup in Web AS Java System

Hi
Can anybody tell me how to schedule DBA Activities (Like Database, Archive Log Backup) on SAP Java System as we do in ABAP System through T Code DB13 or DBACOCKPIT
Regards
Soumya Dasgupta

Hi Warren
Thanks for your reply. I have followed that Notes. But I got stucked in the middle. Actually I am trying to connect our EP System (Which in a Java System only)  to the ECC System (ABAP) for scheduling Backup Jobs and other DBA Activities through DBACOCKPIT. I am trying to add Remote System from the dbacockpit -> System Configuration ->  Add Systems as follows
1. System : SID of the Remote System
2. Select Database Connection under the Remote System -> Create
3. Connection Name : Oracle
4. Database System : Oracle
5. User Name and Password : Oracle User Name and Password of Remote System
In DB Configuration Under Parameter I have given the TNS Name of of the Remote Database System.
Can you please validate the above details. Because after saving this enties I cannot run a successful test. Error : ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified.
Pleaes help

  • In SLD WEB AS JAVA systems

    hi,
I had a small query that for WEB AS ABAP we use application systems like APO,SCM etc
but for WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    regards
    guna

    Hello Guna,
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:
    ·        Standalone Java systems
    ·        Third-party systems
To manually register these systems – and if you want to maintain additional data about automatically registered systems – you use the technical system browser.
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    Database Only as Data Source
Description: All user, user account, role, and group data is stored in the database of the SAP Web Application Server Java.
Use case: You can use this scenario if UME is only used by dedicated Java applications that do not need to connect to ABAP systems or third-party systems. An example is a Web Application Server Java that is used as a developer workplace for small desktop development
    Configuration file: dataSourceConfiguration_database_only.xml

  • WEB AS JAVA System In SOLMAN

    Hi Experts,
Normally we add the abap system in SOLMAN where we can monitor.
Is it possible to add a web AS java in the SOLMAN where we can
monitor centrally. If so can you please suggest me some documents
                  or procedure to do this.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

    Hi,
yes, it is possible to monitor SAP AS JAVA on Solmon.
    1. On System JAVA is installed, start sapccmsr agent
    2. Before that you need to copy csmreg file to your java system.
There is an excellent from service market place about this. please refer the following

  • Create a Technical System Web AS Java

    Hi guys,
Anyone knows how to create a Technical Sys Web AS Java like we usual do with RZ70?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi -
Using the VA corresponding to the Web AS Java system, goto the SLD Data Supplier service, then Runtime tab->HTTP Settings tab (bottom).  fill in required parms and save.  To trigger an initial send, use the button ("This triggers data transfer to SLD...") - left most button on upper toolbar of service.  Check your SLD for tech system creation.

  • Unable to install Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 Service Pack 7 on Wndows

    Dear All,
I recently downloaded Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 Service Pack 7 and now I am trying to install it.
The previous version of Web Server 6.1 that i installed is running successfully on Windows 2000 Prof. though it is not meant for it.
To install SP7, i uninstalled the previous Web Server 6.1. I also removed the folder Sun and all the child folders of it. The Sun ONE Web Server services are still available and i can't able to delete them even from registry so i disabled them.
Then I tried to install SP7. But after few steps, it gives error:
You already have a Sun ONE Web Server installed. Install can not proceed.
I am sure that i am able to remove completely the previous instance of webserver as i removed all the entries from registry also and also disabled the services related to it.
Still why i am getting this error?
Will it work on Windows 2000 Professional like its previous version?
If not can i able to install previous version of the Web server 6.1 (without SP7) on Windows 2000 Prof?
    Please help me regarding this.
    -Sameer

Sameer, you should have uninstalled Web Server 6.1 using the Web Server uninstallation program instead of just deleting its files and directories. Your Windows registry is now in an inconsistent state.
If you can restore your previous Web Server 6.1 installation from a backup, you can run the uninstaller to correctly uninstall it.
If you cannot uninstall Web Server 6.1 using its uninstallation program, you will need to manually delete the Windows services and edit the Windows registry to remove all references to the files you deleted. Note that you can render your computer inoperable by deleting services or modifying the Windows registry. Don't do this if you're not confident with what you're doing.
To delete the services using SC.EXE:C:\>sc delete https-admserv61
C:\>sc delete https-hostname(You can find the hostname for the Web Server 6.1 service(s) using the Services program in the Administrative Tools folder of the Control Panel.)
To clean up the registry, use REGEDIT.EXE to delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Sun Microsystems/WebServer.

  • Abap+Java System Backup

    Dear Experts,
We just take our bi system(abap+java)  backup online, so could you please help me which files we need to backup during the Sap system is online,
As the below help.sap.com link said that for filesystem backup "Create a backup of the SAP system directory /usr/sap/<SID>." (before we need to stop SDM)
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/4b/d8f23ea4b42e5ae10000000a114084/content.htm
Can we backup entire /usr/sap/<SID> directory while sap and db is still runnig ? if not which directories we need to backup ?
Should we backup filesystem and db backup at the same time for a consistent backup, or can we schedule separately filesystem and db backup if there is no deployment exist between db backup and filesystem backup schedules,
    Best Regards,
    Atakan

As suggested you can either go with the ofline backup for the abap and for Java you need to have the filesystem backup.
Or you should go witht he file system backup of all the file system. But for that you need downtime.
So what i shall suggest you thet go vith the online backup and have the archive log on and have archive logs backup too.
And just the online backup completes have the Java export of the Java system of your BI.Durng the exportthe SDM will stop while the Servernode and the dispatcher service will be running,so no error will occur when some one is using the JAVA BI.
This is the safest method ad you can recover the JAVA system any time. Please also have an offline backup at weekends of the abap system when its down.
Please check the Password of DDIC of client 000 and the J2ee_admin before taking the export.
    Thanks

  • Adding a JDBC driver in Sun Java System Web Server 7

I'm trying to configure JDBC database connection pooling for a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition though the Sun Java System Web Server 7 administration console. I don't want to use the MSSQL JDBC driver that comes bundled with the SJSWS 7. So I've downloaded the lastest MSSQL JDBC driver from the Microsoft website and put in the "lib" subdirectory of the SJSWS installation directory. So when I go to add a new JDBC resource through the administration console, the newly added MSSQL database driver doesn't appear in the "Driver Vendor" drop-down box.
How do I add the downloaded JDBC driver to the server so that it appears in the "Driver Vendor" drop-down under "Create JDBC resource".

Check this documentation from MS on using the JDBC driver with DataSource
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms379052.aspx
SJS Web Server 7.0 should work with any driver that has support for javax.sql.DataSource. The great majority of drivers do.
So instead of using the driver name, use the DataSource class name:
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDataSource
The properties to add should be:
    user=username
    password=password
    servername=sql_server_hostname
    portnumber=sql_server_port
    databasename=databasename
In general, all the setters required to get the datasource configured can be set as properties.

  • How to make weblogic proxy to work on Sun Java system web server 7?

    Hi Every one,
I am working on upgrade our Sun one 6.1 webserver to Sun Java system web server 7. Our website uses weblogic server to process jsp, web server only send static pages. I did all configurations as on Sun one. But somehow, the webserver does not forward "get jsp page" request to weblogic. The log record is:
for host 10.78.124.118 trying to GET /home.jsp, send-file reports: HTTP4142: can't find /www/a/WebServer7/docs/bmd9i/home.jsp (File not found)
    home.jsp is at weblogic server.
And redirect "NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" url="/home.jsp"" seems does not work. when I type on IE http://32.69.253.131/ (32.69.253.131 is http listener IP), it always shows index.html page under the document root.

Quick obvious question - Are you positive you're editing the correct obj.conf? Check the config directory and see if there is a second one called something like <instance>.obj.conf (where <instance> is the name of your configured instance).
Alternatively you can grep for object-file in the server.xml to see which obj.conf the server is using:
    # grep object-file server.xml
<object-file>bare-php.obj.conf</object-file>Assuming that you are editing the correct obj.conf file, are you making certain to restart Web Server after making your changes?

  • Java 1.5, Servlet 2.4 support in Sun Java System Web Server?

    Hi All,
Does anyone know when the next version of Sun Java System Web Server will be released? 6.1 has been around a while and it doesn't support the latest Java releases, which is odd for a Java product from the company that owns Java. My Sun rep didn't have an answer for me and suggested posting here.
I have seen references to people trying to use 1.5 with their server in another forum, but they were reporting problems and their questions weren't answered.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Try the new
SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition
thus you will have the chance to use the latest Servlet 2.5. The download package includes also the new SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

  • SLD-Technical system -Web AS Java

    Dear All,
I am able create techinical system for Web As ABAP. And want to create Web AS Java. Will you please explain me procedure.

    Hi,
Ideally you should not create any technical system manually. When you go to SLD Administrstion --> profiles --> Data supplier, here you enter your backend server specific data for e.g. host name, instance number etc, and then you restart your SLD.once this is done successfully then your technical system automatically gets available under Technical Syatems. you should follow the same for JAVA system.
