SCOM 2012 - Disable Alerts for a few servers

Hi,
I have about 8 servers and i need to disbale a monitor, how do i do this?
Is there a way i can select the monitor from the agent and then disable it?
thank you in advance :)
Kelly

Find out what the "target" of the monitor is.  Create an instance group containing the target class for those servers.  If you can do this dynamically based on naming convention or OU, then cool.  If not, then you might have to
add them individually.  Then override for a group, as the person said before.

  • SCCM 2012 integration with SCOM 2012 - Disable Alerts during patching

Have SCCM 2012 R2 and SCOM 2012 R2 and use the Software Update Patching process for servers.  When using the checkbox to "Disable Operations Manager Alerts when this program runs" option have noticed on completion of the job and the target
server is rebooted, a scheduled task appears for a short time titled "SCOM 2007 Agent Resume Task".  The task disappears and there is no history to view.
Is this a legacy naming convention from 2007 world when the maintenance mode is turned off from the SCCM patching process?
How do I see the actual code behind the SCCM and SCOM integration with Maintenance mode to validate it.

SCCM should use the following SCOM SDK to do that.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437532.aspx
That's incorrect. There is no API or method to put an OpsMgr agent into maintenance mode on the client itself -- maintenance mode is a centrally controlled feature of OpsMgr. The API/code sample you linked is performing that activity on the management server
which assumes you know the management server name and have permissions to carry out the action -- neither of which is fulfilled by the ConfigMgr agent.
The ConfigMgr agent pauses the OpsMgr client agent service and also unloads the workflows from the OpsMgr agent (it only did the first part in ConfigMgr 2007). This effectively puts the agent in Maintenance Mode (although to my knowledge this is not directly
    reflected in the OpsMgr console).

You should post in the grid control foruma.
But just go to databases, select your database, metric and policy settings, find the tablespace metric, edit and exclude the undo tablespace.

  • Provision for capacity alerts for Exchange 2010 servers on SCOM

    Hi All,
This is one urgent requirement, please help.
We have around 25 exchange servers in our environment, we need to configure alerts to limit the threshold to 80-90% of mailbox.
My requirement is to configure SCOM alerts for mailboxes hosted on databases servers. In our environment we have set that a database should contain 208 mailboxes. So we need to have alert when mailbox limits reaches to 80% or 90% (say 180 mailboxes in number).
Please let me know hw to configure this alert and thresholds in SCOM?
    Best Regards,
    Harsha L P

     Hi,
Have you import the Exchange management pack to your maagement group?
We may need to check the management pack guide to find if there is any monitor or rule which can do this.

  • SCOM 2012 Disabling Sealed Management Packs

Hi, I need to disable some default MP in scom 2012 as part of testing and its a sealed MP. Could someone pls help me out to share a powershell script for executing the same.
Also I want to know, if I disable this MP, will it allow me to enable in future.
    Pls advise..
    Regards, Rajeev Parambil

There is no easy way of disabling all alerts, but this script could be used:
    http://www.systemcentercentral.com/disabling-all-the-rulesmonitors-of-a-management-pack-in-scom-2012/
I don't know your situation, but I would recommend implementing the management pack in a demo environment, tune the alerts to a new management pack, and then import that custom mp into a production environment.

  • SCOM 2012 SMS Alert Notification

    Hi,
I am using SCOM 2012 and I have a requirement of SMS Alert. but the issue that I am facing here is I have a Single Virtual Box for SCOM 2012, and what ever I experienced from SCOM 2007 physical was I had to configure a Modem through the USB device
    few years back..
now I have to configure the SMS notification on a Virtual Box of SCOM 2012...
any idea ? what could be done ?
    Regards, Owais

    Hi,
I think you need to make the SMS modem work with the virtual machine first. Then, configure the notification in SCOM consol.

  • SCOM 2012 Network Monitoring Does Not Show Servers

We are testing out the network monitoring piece in SCOM 2012 but for some reason it never does show the servers.  We have a test switch with a monitored server connected directly to it but after the discovery completes it doesn't show the server as
being connected.  The switch in question is a Juniper and if you look at the diagram view for the device it does show all of the ports under "not monitored" and the Processor and Memory under "Healthy."  The following event sequence shows up in the
    "Network Discovery Progress Events" view:
Full Discovery Started for 1 request(s)
Proceeding to discover all systems in repository
    Probing <<IP Address 1>>
    Probing <<IP Address 2>>
Probing completed for <<IP Address 2>>
    PostProcessing started
Probing completed for <<IP Address 1>>
    PostProcessing completed
    Switch::<<IP Address 2>> discovered successfully
    Switch::<<IP Address 1>> discovered successfully
Discovery Completed / Devices discovered: 2 / Windows computers filtered: 0 / Devices in pending list: 0 / Devices excluded: 0
No devices were found in filtered list after discovery
    Start processing connections to computers
Finished processing connections to computers. Number of connections made: 0
I've been trying to find some documentation on any other settings that are required to get network monitoring to work as advertised but so far I have struck out.  Help!

Sorry Matt - you did say that very clearly in your previous post. I'll try and do better this time ;-)
    From here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212935.aspx
    From here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2011/09/20/what-gets-monitored-with-system-center-operations-manager-2012-network-monitoring.aspx
"An agent computer that is directly connected to a device will have the connecting interface added to this group.  For this to work the management group must have the Windows Operating System management pack for the agent’s operating system, the Windows
Client Network Discovery management pack and the Windows Server Network Discovery management pack. The full discovery of the agent’s operating system has to be completed including the discovery of the agent’s network adapters. Then when network  discovery
runs for the device it should stitch the port on the device to the network adapter on the computer and add the port to this group."
    So possibly:
    - check the management packs specified are imported
    - check the the agents network adapters have been discovered
    From here -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212935.aspx - it is also possible to do this for non-scom monitored servers.
"Ports that are connected to a computer are not monitored; only ports that connect to other network devices are monitored. You can monitor a port that is connected to a computer that is not agent-managed in the same management group by adding the port to
    the Critical Network Adapters Group."
    Cheers

  • Is there a way to disable alerts for updates on unused droid razr m factory installed apps?

Is there a way to disable the alerts for unused droid razor m factory installed aps?  Or how can I manage the settings so these do not pop up?  I literally have used none of their pre-installed apps in 2 years.  I would prefer they just do whatever it is they do in the background.

If you go into the application manager and disable those apps, that will uninstall updates and stop future update attempts

  • How to create a view in table DB for a few servers

    Hi
We need to create a table Country that will hold the countries data.
I would like to create it in a way that it will be common for all the servers - but as a view. not the real table, only a view to see the data and not to change it.
    How do I do it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    +Other servers - i meant other table spaces.+
+I need the same table to be read from other table spaces .+
    +I have 2 table spaces:+
    +1. OBITUARIESCS+
    +2. ADVERTISEMENTCS+
+I would like to create one table in OBITUARIESCS that will have a i don't know how to call it - but another access from ADVERTISEMENTCS.+
    +Why do I need it?+
+Because when I work with my application I have to define the DB. and I want to define only ADVERTISEMENTCS but to use one table from OBITUARIESCS with a view or something like that+- See, Basically When you created a User, he will be assigned a default tablespace where the tables are stored when the user created. As as per requirement you can assigned some quota or unlimited permissions on list of tablespaces
to the user. Based on the your Application he can create the tables in respective tablespaces.
Now, coming to the problem if the respective user which you are accessing is stored the table in "OBITUARIESCS" tablespace, then the table will not be there in "ADVERTISEMENTCS" tablespace. At user level he can access the data from both the tablespaces.
As you said above that one process should access "ADVERTISEMENTCS" and view from "OBITUARIESCS".
If you the application user is having the rights on the "ADVERTISEMENTCS" then he can not access the "OBITUARIESCS" which might belongs to different users schema. For that try to Grant the privileges on that certain table to required users which your application is using. That's solves your problem based on my understanding with your question.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Alert Suppression

Is there a way to build a set of rules around the Alert Suppression feature. For example if a custom alert is triggered more than 5 times in 10 minutes, I want to suppress that alert for the next hour.
    Is this possible?
    Paul Arbogast

    Hi,
I understand that you want to enable alert suppression after alert is triggered 5 times in 10 minutes, I have to say that I don't think this can be done.
As Alert suppression can only be enabled when the rule is created. You cannot enable alert suppression by using an override. So you should re-create the rule if you want to enable suppression.

  • Disabling Airport for a few months

Okay, this is going to sound very random. I have a new macbook pro and am using it to write my PhD thesis. I spend way too much time online wasting time. Is there a way to disable the airport so that I cannot get onto wireless networks? Other than just turning it off (which can be SO easily be turned on again). I want it so that I can't get online easily for the next few months, but can reactivate it once I have submitted my work. I will simply use other computers for when I actually NEED to go online (campus computers, my desktop, etc.) I want this computer to be ONLY for work.
I know this probably sounds very strange to some of you and I know I should have some more discipline but maybe there are some other procrastinating grad students out there who will take pity. Is this even possible?
    Thank you!

Okay, now I am at the point that I do want to uninstall the card. How do I actually do this? I have a 15" Macbook Pro and cannot figure it out. Any ideas?

In a single SharePoint 2010 document library, Is it possible to have no alerts sent out when a minor revision is created?  My client would like to only have email alerts sent out on Major revisions.  Thanks in advance.

you can try to send the alerts based on views by applying the required filter of choice which is not system generated.
