SCOM 2012 R2 Error The connector the module is configured for no longer exists

Hi All,
The Microsoft Operations Manager Connector Framework Alert Forwarding module failed to mark an alert for forwarding because the connector the module is configured for no longer exists.
Connector Id: 57a14deb-a74b-520e-ac32-ba8d340d112d

Hi Mark,
You can try the following steps,
This is because we have deleted a connector that still had a live subscription associated with it.  We need to go and delete that subscription to clean this up.  The problem is – the connector is gone, so the subscription is no longer available
in the UI.
Therefore – we will have to delete it manually.  This subscription (as all subscriptions) is kept in the “Notifications Internal Library” MP.  You need to export that MP to XML.  FIRST MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THIS FILE IN CASE YOU MESS UP, then
open it for editing in Notepad, or your XML editor of choice.
All subscriptions in this MP are kept in the <Monitoring> <Rules> section.  To identify which connector subscription RULE is causing the problem – you can search for the connector ID, from the event 11502 above.  In my example – my connector
ID from this event is:  b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d.
So – I search the XML for that string – and find b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d in the <WriteActions> section of a specific <Rule>:
<WriteActions>
  <WriteAction ID="WA" TypeID="SystemCenter!Microsoft.SystemCenter.ConnectorFrameworkAlertWriteAction">
    <ConnectorId>{b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d}</ConnectorId>
  </WriteAction>
</WriteActions>
Good – I have identified the problem.  Now – I need to do two things:
Find the rule ID – to identify the display string associated with it… then delete that display string.
Delete the orphaned subscription rule.
So – I move up in the XML section of this rule – and I find my Rule ID.  (here is mine:)
<Rule ID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3_afe7_4c36_84d2_ee258bd086eb"
I then search for the part above which I bolded in blue (yours will be different – search for your string)
What this finds – is the display string section of the XML – which maps this GUID ID to the common name that you gave the subscription.  (here is mine:)
<DisplayString ElementID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3_afe7_4c36_84d2_ee258bd086eb">
  <Name>Process All New Alerts</Name>
</DisplayString>
So – I need to DELETE this section from the XML…. just the section above, from my very specific <DisplayString ElementID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3<GUID> line, to the very next </DisplayString>.
Next – I need to delete the entire <rule> which contains the subscription we want to remove.  Mine will be from:
<Rule ID="ProductConnectorSubscription<GUID> line to the very next </Rule>
When you are happy – you can import this XML MP back into the management group.  It should import with no errors.  If you get an error – you made a mistake when editing the XML.  You can look on the RMS event log for the specific problem – there
will be a critical event there if it fails to import.

  • Does the SCOM 2012 agent "look back" in the logs before the service was started?

    Does the SCOM 2012 agent "look back" in the logs before the service was started?<o:p></o:p>
    We raised this question to our Microsoft rep back when we migrated to SCOM 2007. We wanted to know if SCOM would alert on errors generated before the Heath Service started. For example, errors
    logged before the service is started on reboot (which is when some critical errors are logged). We also wondered what happens when the service is restarted...would errors during the same window be missed?
    If I remember correctly the MS response was that the agent looks back on startup/restart based on a timestamp of some kind. We did some testing that seemed to confirm this information. I've
    recently encountered several instances of errors generated while the service was stopped (primarily during boot up) where SCOM failed to alert on the error.
    Can anyone confirm how the SCOM 2012 agent deals with errors generated before the service starts on boot and during service restarts?

    I would suspect it's with watermarks as it has been in the past.  What you should look into is if these alerts you were expecting are event based, and if there are rules set to alert for these conditions.  If so, and you don't get an alert,
    then you can bring that up with your msft rep.  However, they should be caught.
    Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/ If my response was helpful, please mark it as so, if it answered your question, then please also mark it accordingly. Thank you.
    There is a watermark. If the agent has been down for a significant period of time, the watermark may not apply, as the log would have rolled - but the entire log will still be processed regardless of what has already been discarded in the log. This may cause
    some problems if a monitor picks up an unhealthy state, and the healthy state log entry has already been flushed. In this case, you need to reset health on that particular monitor, or just flush the cache on the agent to start anew.

    To move to Safari 6 you would have to install Lion or Mountain Lion.  Perhaps try contacting Google/gmail about the issue and why they are not supporting your version of Safari.

  • How to delete the queries in  BW Production which are no longer existing.

    Hi,
    How to  delete the queries in BW production which are no longer existing in DEV.
    1. I tried Using RSZDELETE in Production it is not getting deleted and the below message given.
    Query object 4A7V83T3RB4ABIOKSDJT2HWDL is blocked. Deletion has been cancelled.
    2. I tried creating another query in dev with the same technical name and send a transport with deletion
    it is not working.
    Please advise me on this for any function module or any other method.
    Thanks
    Surya

    Hi,
    If you transported the query from DEV and now you want to delete it, you should open a BEx request (Dev Class under which it was originally transported -- or-- Standard - type) in DEV delete the query and move the transport to Production.
    As far as your error is concerned, usually  when you  can delete a query using the delete option in query designer itself,
    Business Explorer> query-> delete objects , when you press execute the system offers you a list of dependent objects on the query(workbook,views), in case the sysytem is unable to delete them i.e.they being used as a input query for a characteristic variable (replacement path),then system throws this error.You can delete these all depndents under there prescribed roles , fav s & then proceed.
    Hope this will be expedite.
    Thax & regards.

  • How to get the number of decimal places configured for a site column

    Hi,
    I have a column 'SampleNumCol' of type Number, the number of decimal places to be displayed is configured as 2.
    The column conatins a value, but when retrieved programatically is displayed as 5.00000000  instead of 5.00.
    I am retrieving this column using listitem.Properties[field.InternalName].
    I need to trim the decimals based on  number of decimal places configured for the site column.
    How to get the number of decimal places configured for a site column?
    Thanks in advance,
    dhijit

    Get the field as SPFieldNumber and then check DisplayFormat which returns
    SPNumberFormatTypes
    SPFieldNumber numberField = list.Fields.GetFieldByInternalName("YourNumberFieldName") as SPFieldNumber;
    SPNumberFormatTypes numFormatType = numberField.DisplayFormat;

    I am using Numbers on my iPhone5 and cannot get the app to do a simple (SUM) calculation.  It shows the formula correctly in the cell, but all I get for my long list of numbers to add is 0.  How can I get this to work?

    Oaky, at least we got that far.  Next step is to determine if all those "numbers" are really numbers.  Changing the format to "number" doesn't necessarily change the string to a number. The string has to be in the form of a number.  Some may appear to you and me as numbers but will not turn into "numbers" when you change the formatting from Text to Number. Unless you've manually formatted the cells to be right justified, one way to tell if it is text or a number is the justification. Text will be justified to the left, numbers will be justified to the right.
    Here are some that will remain as strings:
    +123
    123 with a space after it.
    .123

    Hi i have 50 infoobjects as part of my aggregates and in that 10 infoobjects have received changes in masterdata.so in my process chain the Attribute change run in running for a long time.can i kill the job and repeat the same.

    Hi,
    I believe this would be your Prod system, so don't just cancel it but look at the job log. If it is still processing then don't kill it and wait for the change run to complete but if you can see that nothing is happening and it is stuck for a long time then you can go ahead and cancel it.
    But please be sure, as these kind of jobs can create problems if you cancel them in the middle of a job.

    ==============================================================

    Hi,
    Just several ideas to be checked:
    1. Please, verify the prerequisites of Operations Console listed by the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249696.aspx
    2. Install all the SCOM related system updates.
    3. Clear SCOM Console cache:
    http://systemcenter.no/?p=215
    4. Try to clean up Ops Manager cache on SCOM Management server. To do this stop Microsoft Monitoring Agent service, navigate to SCOM installation path (by default, C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server) and
    delete Health Service State folder. Start Microsoft Monitoring Agent service afterwards.
    5. If nothing helps, maybe try to reinstall SCOM Console.

  • Monitoring servers in SCOM 2012 via different locals within the same management group

    Hi,
    I have 2 management servers in a same management group. The 1st one is having English (US) locale while other is installed on Swedish locale. Both are accessed by different users having same admin rights.
    Once a USER 1 try to register a server through authoring tab from 1st management server(installed on English locale), a profile/group wrt the server registered is created successfully but the USER on 2nd management server (installed on Swedish locale) can
    not see the same in Authoring tab. He can view it in Monitoring tab as as well as Administration tab.
    The Vice versa is also true.
    Does any one have idea that is it SCOM 2012's expected behaviour wrt 2 2 different users on 2 different locales within a same management group ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I am a little confused, what do you mean by "register a server through authoring tab"?
    Do you mean that when you discover a server on 1st MS with discovery wizard then you cannot see it on 2nd MS(and the vice versa)?
    As far as I know, all those information should be stored in the operation database which is shared to both MSs within the same management group.
    We may use SQL query to find the discovered server on the operation database. Please also check operation manager event logs to get more information to troubleshoot this issue.

  • SCOM 2012 Installation does not show the SQL Server Instance for reporting services

    I have an issue when I try to install SCOM 2012 with the Reporting Server feature, so in the step that I have to select a SQL Server Instance I cannot do that, because as you can see in the picture no one option appears.
    In my scenario I have a DCSERVER, SQLSERVER2008 R2, SCCMSERVER 2012 and in other server I are trying to install SCOM 2012. I are trying to use the same SQLSERVER to SCOM 2012.
    Should I do other procedure on SQL Server before to continue? I will apreciate someone could say me what I need to do to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Paul Mendoza.

    Hi Paul
    Can you confirm that SQL Reporting Services is installed on the server that you are doing the install.
    For a lab environment where you have SCOM Management Server, Web Server on one server and SQL Server on another you need to:
    - run setup on the SCOM Server and choose NOT to install reporting. The install here will create the OperationsManager database and OperationsManagerDW (reporting) database.
    - run setup on the SQL Server where SQL Reporting Services is installed. Then choose to install reporting. You should then see the SQL Reporting Services instance on the above window which is blank in your screenshot.
    Take note of the warning in that window - SCOM uses its own role based security within SQL Reporting Services and this can break other reporting. E.g. you can't install SCOM and SCSM reporting (SQL RS component) together.
    Cheers

  • SCOM 2012 Console not responding when the server to be connected is down.

    SCOM 2012 Console hangs when the server to be connected is down or gone (e.g. lease replaced).  How to change the 'connection server' to point to a valid server without re-installing SCOM Console? Thx

    To enable high availability for your Operations Manager Data Access service, you can use Network Load Balancing (NLB)

  • SCOM 2012/SP1/R2 - What Is the Best Management Pack for HP Storage (P2000)

    Hi all!
    What would be the best recommended Management Pack for HP Storage (P2000) for the SCOM 2012/SP1/R2? Free products are privileged, of course, but we would also consider the paid ones.
    Thank you very much for your time and attention!
    Best regards!

    Hi,
    Recently I created Custom Management pack for MSA P2000 Storage. Its primary purpose is to monitor performance.
    See: http://jurelab.wordpress.com/ for details.

  • SCOM 2012 Report error rsprocessingaborted rserrorexecutingcommand

    Hello All,
    I am able to run some reports from SCCM 2012 console but few of them do not work.
    Error in SCOM console when I try to run the report
    An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for dataset 'Data_Warehouse_Main'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine,
    or enable remote errors
    When i log on to report server and try to run same report using  browser, here is the error I get
    An error occurred during client rendering. An error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for dataset 'Data_Warehouse_Main'. The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'Win7MemorySufficiencyReport', database 'OperationsManagerDW',
    schema 'dbo'
    So where do we need to change the permissions and for what account?
    Also why some reports are running with same permissions and not others?
    Thanks in Advance!!

  • SCOM 2012 R2 error NTFS - Delayed Write Lost. Windows Event ID 11

    Hi, we seem to be getting a few alerts in our SCOM console regarding NTFS - Delayed Write Lost alerts. We are running HP ML350e Gen8 servers with Server 2012 R2 OS installed. In System event logs we receive event ID error 11.
    The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
    The controller used is a Smart Array P420
    I've installed the latest HP Service Pack, installed the latest drivers for the P420, etc.
    No errors are showing in the HP Array diagnostics tools.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Description of the Event ID 50 Error Message
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Windows+Operating+System&ProdVer=5.2.3790.1830&EvtID=50&EvtSrc=ntfs&LCID=1033
    According to information above, I think event ID 11, disk issues could be the culprit.
    I recommend you contact with HP to confirm the information.

  • Installing SCOM 2012 SP1 Error

    Hi.
    When we try to install the SP1, the installation fails.
    We are using Server 2008 R2 Datacenter 64 bit.
    I have started the installation with elevated rights. The windows eventlog says:
    Product: System Center Operations Manager 2012 Agent -- The System Center 2012 - Operations Manager agent cannot be installed on a computer on which the Operations Manager management server, gateway server, Operations console, operational database, web console,
    System Center Essentials, or System Center Service Manager is already installed. These must be uninstalled in order to proceed.
    Event though the agent is not installed (not possible since its the Operations Management server)
    This are the programs that are installed on the server:
    I have zipped the log files and uploaded them
    to skydrive.

    Looking at the log files, the pre-reqs are fine. It detects that a previous version of the SCOM MS is installed and tries to upgrade:
    [15:06:16]: Debug: :isProductInstalled: product with {7348450D-5558-4CA6-8E71-044720D304F2} product code is installed on this machine
    [15:06:16]: Debug: :GetServerInstallState: OpsMgr Server is installed on this machine
    [15:06:16]: Debug: :isProductInstalled: product with {95241780-B772-4A42-A1F0-8FA951FAF619} product code is installed on this machine
    [15:06:16]: Debug: :GetUserInterfaceInstallState: OpsMgr UI is installed on this machine

    [15:06:16]: Debug: :GetWebConsoleInstallState: OpsMgr Web Console is installed on this machine
    What I see a bit further down is:
    [15:06:50]: Info: :Info:preparing for MS upgrade
    [15:06:50]: Always: :Operations Manager Agent is also installed on the machine. Since we are upgrading Server we will remove Agent from this machine and add back the Agent Management group after server upgrade.
    [15:06:50]: Always: :uninstalling product with product code: {5155DCF6-A1B5-4882-A670-60BF9FCFD688}
    [15:06:50]: Debug: :GetFullPathBasedOnSetupLocation: Attempted to resolve a file at C:\apps\sc2012sp1\Setup\AMD64\ but it wasn't found there.  Will return an empty string.
    I don't know if this is causing the issue but it fails just after this point. Perhaps try downloading a new .iso and re-mounting (rather than extracting).
    Cheers
