SCOM2012 Alert: SQL 2008 DB Average Wait Time & Recompilationis too high

WE have SCOM 2012sp1 CU3 updated.
I receive the below critical alerts from SQL servers continuously, please help me to resolve this issue.
SQL 2008 DB Average Wait Time is too high
SQL DB 2008 SQL Recompilation is too high

I don't know about anyone else but overriding those monitors and rules didn’t work for me, I had to override<o:p></o:p>
SQL Re-Compilation monitor for SQL 2012 DB Engine<o:p></o:p>
SQL Re-Compilation monitor for SQL 2008 DB Engine<o:p></o:p>
Average Wait Time monitor for SQL 2012 DB<o:p></o:p>
Average Wait Time monitor for SQL 2008 DB<o:p></o:p>
Now I am wondering if other monitors are valid as well in particular I have multiple alerts for<o:p></o:p>
Buffer Cache Hit Ratio monitor for SQL 2008 DB Engine is too low<o:p></o:p>
Page Life Expectancy (s) for 2008 DB Engine is too low<o:p></o:p>
is anyone else seeing these issues as well?

  • The Average Wait Time of SQL instance "CONFIGMGRSEC" on computer " SEC_SITE_SERVER " is too high

    I have a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 environment with SCOM monitoring installed.
I also do have 4 secondary sites installed below my primary. The secondaries are using SQL 2012 Express version default deployed using the secondary site installation.
My SCOM monitoring is generating tickets with the following message:
The Average Wait Time of SQL instance "CONFIGMGRSEC" on computer "<SEC_SITE_SERVER>" is too high
How can i solve this ? Or do I need to ignore this ?

Never ignore messages, but tune them.
In this specific case you might want to take a look at this:

  • Wallboard - Calculating daily average wait time

In Historical Reporting, if we look up a queue's average wait duration for the day we are given 5:34.
At the same time, if I pull up avgWaitDuration in RtCSQsSummary, I am given 190505.  What number is this?  Seconds?  if in seconds, and the total calls answered for that queue is 248, then I should be able to divide 190505 by 248.  When I do that, I get 768 seconds.  768 (12:48) is a far cry different from 334 (5:34).  Where am I going wrong?

Ok, I determined that the number is not actual ASA, but apparently "avg queue time".  I assume this to mean the clock starts when the caller is placed in the queue, after completing the call tree.
I figured out how to calculate the time provided, and it matches the time in History Reporting for the "avg queue time".  But the time we ACTUALLY want is the "avg speed to answer", as found in History Reporting for each queue.
What table would I find the ASA from the time the caller enters the call tree?

  • No Server Name displyed in mail notification Alert generated by "total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high" Monitor

    Hello Everyone,
I need your assisstance in one of the issues with Mail Notification Alert generated by SCOM.
    Mail notification received as below:
Alert: Total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high
    Severity: 2
ServerName:Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard  - The threshold for the Processor\% Processor Time\_Total performance counter has been exceeded. The values that exceeded the threshold are: 97.091921488444015% CPU and a processor queue length of 16.
    Last modified by: System
The Alert was generated by "Total CPU Utilization Percentage"
But the problem with the above mail notification is it doesn't mentions about the affected server. So I would like to know how to tweak the monitors to provide the server name into it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    VROAN

    Hi
You can add alert source to the email format in the scom server.

  • Average wait time?

    Hey everyone,
Probably a dumb question here, but I am switching to Verizon... I placed an order online the night of 9/25, for 3 phones (2 iPhone 4, and a Blackberry), porting all my numbers over from US Cellular.   Received the "Sales Confirmation" email that states it is pending final credit approval.   On 9/26, it said the order was being processed and to check back tomorrow... which it still says on the 28th.  I understand orders are probably a bit backed up with all the iPhone 5 people, so I was just wondering if anyone could provide me like an average on how long before it will go through and the phones ship (the money paid for the phones has still not been taken out of my account either).., basically I just want to make sure that either I or someone will be here to sign for the phones, and my job it isn't that easy to change shifts so I was basically just trying to have as much notice as possible.  I realize that I probably just need to be more patient, but I am about ready to smash this US Cellular phone with a hammer but I don't want to do that till I have my new ones from Verizon
    Thanks all
    Josh

  • Average waiting time for applecare standard service replacement????

Does anyone know how long it usually takes returning you Iphone 4 on the standard replacement option rather than the advanced option which applecare provide you. I sent my iphone on last saturday on the 7th and its not been 9 days but I suppose techniqually its probaly only 5 days seing as delivery only operates in Australia from Monday to Friday. Thats what I thought anyway. There are the floods in Queensland not to forgot so thats probaly held up mail aswell. But with all this would anyone find this odd that I havent heard anything or should I not worry about it?

yeh i'll give that a try actually. I havent asked them the status by phone yet. oh i don't know if you've seen the email they send you with the repair ID on before but it says you must return the Iphone 4 with 10 business days to avoid cancellation. Would Monday to Friday only count as business days or is it from the day I requested the repair and replacement service?

  • Execution time is too high.

    Hi,
I got several xsql-files that uses aprox. 1 minute to execute by them selves. I want to run one xsql that includes them all, but it times out, and I get an server-error. Is there any way I can get the execution time down, or change the timeout-setting?
I am running the xsql that comes with 8.1.7

If Oracle8i JServer is included in the Oracle 8i package, then yes. The database itself is not large (aprox. 50Mb with data), but the results of the queries can get somewhat large. Here is an example:
    1. first I made a view:
    create view view_section2_issue as SELECT SPVSPC.OPN, OPE, PCA, PCS, PCSR, OSC, PWTT, OVSM, PLWD, PCSOD, PDC, TO_CHAR(ISOD,'dd.MM.YY') AS ISOD, TO_CHAR(PCSOD,'dd.MM.YY') AS OD, PSCN, PMDP1, PMDP2, PMDP3, PMDP4, PMDP5, PMDP6, PMDP7, PMDP8, PMDP9, PMDP10, PMDP11, PMDP12,PDT1, PDT2, PDT3, PDT4, PDT5, PDT6, PDT7, PDT8, PDT9, PDT10, PDT11, PDT12, PMDC, PMCA, PMMDP, PMDT, PMLWD, PMWTT, PMSCN, PMNS, PMWTH, PMSCH, PMOD

  • EP Load time is too High - and Browser crashes

    Hi,
We have customized Enterprise Portal for our Company. All are going fine, but some users who are in same network as others are facing Long load time issue. It takes lot of time to load the home page and some time it even crashes.
Is there are other reason for such occurrences other than network error, like browser setting or any thing else. Please help me out in this.

  • Uccx 9.0 expected wait time returns a -1 value

Guys I am trying to use the expected wait time feature in UCCX, however the value returned is -1 each time this step is executed. All the other feature such as average wait time etc all works, its just the expected wait time that doesnt. Any ideas please?

During your tests, the call activating the script you are debugging is actually in queue and with a real wait time?
I could find any related bug, can you check this links:

I will try to find additional information.

  • Wait Time & Roll Wait Time

In t-code ST03N, there are following info:
    1. Average Wait Time per Dialog Step (ms)
    2. Average Roll In Time (ms)
    3. Average Roll Wait Time (ms)
    Question:
    1. When will Roll Wait happen?
    2. What is relationship between Wait Time and Roll Wait Time?
    3. When dispatcher looking for free dialog wp, the dispatcher wait time occurs. From above two type of wait time, which one is dispatcher wait time?
    Thanks.

  • UCCX Estimated Wait Time w/ default time?

Does anyone have a script for Estimated Wait Time that has a default wait time?  For example if the "default time" is 2 mintues and the actual EWT is 14 seconds it would say "2 mintues".  if the actual EWT then climbs to 6min 15 sec, it would say "6 minutes 15 seconds".
We're getting complaints when a rash of calls comes in and our EWT isn't able to calculate the trending change fast enough.
    UCCX 7.x

If your call center doesn't have a steady call volume or agents sign on/off frequently then you could try using the average wait time instead of the estimated wait time.  The average will be less volitile.

  • Parameter for Wait time

    Hi,
Pelase tell me the parameter to be setup for Average wait time  in Rz10

your question seems incorrect. What do you mean by Average wait time?? do you mean the related to workload? If yes, then the question does not make sense.
    Please be specific.
    Thanks,

  • Process step with waiting time

    Hi all together,
in BW 3.X you could set a waiting time for a process step, for example 300 seconds. So the following step would start after a waiting time of 300 seconds. This was often used by us for an automatical second execution of the same process after a waiting time.
Now I want to implement the same amendment in BW 7.0 for the process deleting of overlapping infocube requests. But in the context menu the "waiting time" entry is not available. Is this missing menu entry depending on specific settings? Is it generally not available in BW 7.0?
If it is not available, how can I implement a second execution of the process step after a waiting time of x seconds?
Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
    Annette

    Hello,
technically 'waiting time' and debug loop are the same.  In ancient support packages of 3.x using the waiting time could cause lock situations, but this has been fixed years ago.
Technicall there is nothing wrong with using this function, however, from a logical point of view there are usually better alternatives (like interrupt). In most cases the wait time (or debug loop) is used to ensure that a process only starts after another one has finished. But in this case you either have to wait very long or you have the risk that the wait time is too short. And if you really need to wait, you can use an ABAP process with 'wait up to ... seconds'.  This is in my opinion more obvious if a not so experienced person has to monitor the system.
    Best regards,
    Ralf

  • Incorrect Alerts CPU Time and Average Response Time

    BUG
My Alert on Web app is consistently behaving incorrectly.
If I set an alert to monitor CPU Time at threshold 1.5 seconds, it's actually set to 1.5 milliseconds even though the graph shows a dotted red line at 1.5 seconds. The alert will trigger at 1.5 milliseconds threshold. So, instead, I have to set threshold
to 1500 seconds - the graph is completely useless showing a red dotted line at ~24 mins but the alert does then go off when CPU time goes above 1500 ms (aka 1.5 seconds).
The original portal alert seems to be fine - this problem is on new portal only. Unaffected by browser type - all browsers do the same thing (Just has to be said before someone asks).
This seems to apply to all metrics using seconds (Average Response Time acts in the same way)

    Hii...
Am sure you are much aware " Components Response Time spectrum"
