SCOT Issue

Dears,
I have configured scot in my netweaver 7.0 EHP1 server according to
SAP Note 455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP
Now issue is when I am send mail and go to SOST to check its status,I do not find them there.Job is scheduled for every 10 min.
Please suggest.
Shivam

Hi Shivam,
When you send mail, are you receiving it ? If yes, have you checked by going to Send Status tab of transaction SOST ?
Thanks

  • SCOT issue - resending errored messages

Our SAP 4.6 system crashed and, after it was brought back up, one of my colleagues attempted to resend mail messages that had errored out ("Cannot transfer message to node EMAIL due to RFC error").  He resent them and all are sitting in a wait status with status text "Put in the queue again by".  Subsequent mail messages have been sent successfully but these continue to sit in a wait status.
I've checked SCOT and see them in a wait status.
How can I resend these messages?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    Mary,
    SCOT transaction
    Method
    Utilities
    Overview of send orders
Put in your selection criteria and execute to get a list of transmissions
Select the transmissions that you want to resend
Select the u2018Repeat sendu2019 icon from the toolbar or alternatively from the menu u2018Send Processu2019 then select Repeat sendu2019
But first I would check that the RFC connection is ok
Select the relevant node, eg INT and select your object like NOTES
You can double click to view the general node data
Alternatively from the menu select u201CNodesu2019 then u2018Displayu2019
Double click on the RFC Destination.  This will take you to RFC destination (SM59) and you can test the connection
    Regards,
    Mike

  • SCOT problem

    Hi Basis Gurus,
We have an issue in our production system (4.6C). In SOST, we found that the emails are not being sent. SCOT doesnt show errors but SM21 shows communication error regarding a gateway service(the gateway service shows connected now). I tried resending the emails but they show to be in transit all day and are not completing.
From Basis point of view, how should we approach SCOT problems. RFc connection also is fine in our system. I dont know where else the problem could be?
    Thanks in advance
    Cyrus

Have you rebooted the WAS? I once experienced a SCOT issue where the only fix was to reboot...
Can you telnet the mail server (on port 25) from the WAS? Maybe the WAS is sending e-mails, but the e-mail server is not processing them...

  • Confirmation of receipt issue in SCOT

    Hi,
I have a really strange issue with confirmations of receipt in SCOT.
    CASE 1:
I create a mail in SBWP and send it to my email adress -> I recieve the mail and the confirmation of receipt.
    CASE 2:
I create a mail in SBWP and send it to a wrong email adress -> I don't recieve the mail but the confirmation of non receipt.
    CASE 3:
I create a purchase command in my Portal and send it via SOST to my email address -> I recieve the mail but I don't have any confirmation of receipt.
    CASE 4:
I create a purchase command in my Portal and send it via SOST to a wrong email address -> I don't recieve the mail but the confirmation of non receipt.
I don't understand how CASE 3 can happen, because CASE 4 works perfectly...
I recieve the detail of purchase command in my email address, so the address is correct but I don't get any confirmation of receipt...
If you have any idea that can help me... I thank you in advance !
    Mathieu

The system is getting confused about normal email sending from SBWP and trigerring messages out of the MM purchasing component.
When an email is not sent it would in any case report it as it seems you are manually triggering it off SOST. Acknowledgement for sent receipts will come only when you activate it in o/p message settings for the <purchase_document> .

  • SCOT configuration Issue

    In SCOT
    1. Enter the Value for Default Domain
2-In Views -> Nodes -> in the subsequent screen, expand INT -> double click on SMTP
How often the Mail should be sent. (mostly every 5 minutes)
Check the u201Ccheckboxu201D u201CNode in use.
Enter the u201CSMTP Mail Server Host Name
    Enter the SMTP Port Number.
    Click on the button u201CSetu201D.
    In Address Areas put *

Now Issue is that when I am sending mail its showing error:
"Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)"
Please suggest am i missing something in process,do i need to set any parameter also for it.

  • Outgoing mail issue in SCOT

    Hi All,
When we have an outgoing mail generated either by a program or the SAP Business Workplace the mails sit in the Waiting stage. They do not show up in SOST as well. And they are all sent together probably in the night as we can see the mails in our Inboxes! I am not sure why this is happening? We cannot blame the send jobs as the mails are being sent... Also the send jobs are configured and the SMTP server is configured. The mails are sent but not as soon as they are generated.
Any pointers to this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Sudhi

    Sudhi,
Check the sent mail job frequency ? It might be running only once .. idle would be running this job every 15 mins or so
    Thanks

"ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)
The creation of a shadow copy has timed out. Try again this operation."
If you receive the above error in your report, we have recently found a registry key which
contains the timeout value set by Microsoft for VSS and found that you can edit this to extend it.
To get to the registry key, open Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit) and browse to:
    "HKLM\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\SPP\\CreateTimeout".
    Change value to 1200000 (2*10*60*1000 = 20 mins).
The default for the timeout period is 10 mins so hopefully doubling this will give enough time to
    complete the snapshot.
If this isn't present, you'll need to manually enter the registry key. It's a DWORD 32-bit key.

    Scot Pichelman

    Hi Scot,
Sometimes a third party backup application will change the default VSS provider adding VSS writers which causes Windows Server Backup using an incorrect component in doing backup, that's why I suggest to delete it for a test. Anyway you can reinstall it
    after testing.
And as you said a high-load CPU could also be the cause of the issue so you may need to first rule hardware effective out.
If issue still exists, please try the steps below as well:
    1. Please check DCOM Server Process Launcher service is started.
    2. If not, try to change RPC service to run as SYSTEM account. To do this please modify the following key:
Note: Backup the key before edit incase it cause any issue.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\RpcSs\
Find "ObjectName" and change the value to LocalSystem.
Reboot to see if DCOM back to work and if Windows Server Backup starts working. If not, please provide the result if there is any new error occurs.
If DCOM still not work, please compare the content of the following key with a working server:

  • Reg: Error in Mail sending through background job in SCOT

    Hello experts,
I am trying to schedule a background job through SCOT so as to send the mails present in SOST.
The job is running but it is giving error as "Invalid status  for recipient" in SOST.
But when I am sending it directly from SOST it is delivered without any errors. The email address is maintained correctly and SMTP settings are also correct as while sending it directly from SOST it reaches the required recipient without any error.
This error is observed only through background job. I am using program RSCONN01 with variant SAP&CONNECTINT in background job.
Kindly suggest why I am getting the error "Invalid status  for recipient" in background job.
    Thanks & Regards
    Meraz

were you able to fix this in the last 3 weeks?
    thanks.

  • Z1 SD card issues..Often caused by FAKE SD cards, unbeknownst to the user and those trying to help?

    Hi All...
Well for the last month or so Ive had problems with my 64 gb SD card..losing data, getting corrupt and requiring non stop formatting..until eventually it just died totally.
Of course, throughout all this I was searching various forums for fixes and reasons why...and as far as I could see it was the fault of the Z1 'killing' SD cards ( I tried the card in other peoples phones and it did not work either..so I assumed it had been corrupted BY the phone!......since it HAD worked perfectly when i first got it)...
Well...Once it finally died totally this week., I decided to send it back to Samsung for an RMA. The card I had was a good quality,  64gb Samsung Evo SDXC class 10...Bear in mind I purchased it from an  Ebay seller that had  1000s of positive feedback (1 or 2 negs regards late postage only) and the card arrived in the post in packaging with hologram etc, and all appeared good quality....
Im actually pretty tech savvy..and indeed internet shopping savvy, and have never been ripped off or conned before.....I didnt buy a 64gb EVo that was ridiculously cheap or anything..I paid what they are worth (then about £27)
But Samsung took one look at it and informed me it was a fake...the issue I had come up against was that the card worked fine up until its ACTUAL (not listed) capacity was reached..which was 7 GIGS!!!..not 64!!!...it was at that point that it started corrupting files and failing in general....
Which in my case was a couple of weeks after installing it in my phone (and the day I got round to piling all my music on it!)......so I had a few weeks of actual use out of it while all seemd fine....enough time to leave positive feedback for the seller and all!.....DEVIOUS SWINES!!! : D.
    Anyway,
Now Im wondering...since these symptoms (files vanishing, corrupting etc) have been talked about so many times on these forums and elsewhere...not only on the Xperia Z1, but on all phones and devices that use SD cards...I wonder just how many are REALLY down to fake SD cards.....They are VERY realistic looking fakes...they even work pretty well up to a point (though probs not as fast as a real class 10 if you were to actually test them)..
In future, when offering help to people with SD card issues..i think I will make an effort to ask them first about the provenance of their SD card, and maybe try and get images of it. (after the fact Ive found several websites that show the fake ones...I even found an image of the EXACT fake I have..same serial numbers, and same tiny printing error and all!....which was THIS site https://thecounterfeitreport.com/product/504/Samsung-micro-SDXC-Memory-Cards.html)
In all the threads I pored over, trying to find a fix for my SD card issues..I can not remember a single instance of someone asking if the card was definitely real or not..or anyone suspecting this to be the issue....(though Im sure there ARE, i didnt find one though..not that I would havee thought it was the case with mine,,,,since I had NO reason to think it WAS fake..what with the perfect packaging, and seller having no neg feedback after selling hundreds of them!).
Im not some sort of SD card expert..BUT I am pretty up to date with regards consumer tech.....and until Samsung revealed to me I had been conned...I had absolutely no INKLING that the cause of my issues wa a fake card...on no forums did anyone ask the person with the issue 'are you sure your card is real?'.....and I am really coming round to think that these fake cards are RIFE out there on the market....so realistic looking, package and all, that probably otherwise legitimate sellers are trading in them......the KILLER being the fact they do actually work...maybe for MONTHS if it takes you a while to reach its true capacity....and certainly long enough in many cases to mean the nefarious seller gets away scot free!
So watch out guys...I ceritanly will be in fuiture...Now I know that fake cards are a big thing.....its really easy to spot the fake ones (if the seller uses a REAL picture of the item on the listing!)...they are by no means identical to the real deal when you know what to look for (in the case of fake EVO 64gb like mine, just 'made in Taiwan' and the back being gloss black instead fo white, is enough to show it as fake.....but I did not know that at the time when an absolutely perfect lookng offical Samsung package turned up at my door!....
Anyone else have this yet? Im sure they have....also, anyone wonder now if the cause of their woes is a fake card? If you would like to post here, Im happy to have a look at it!
    Thanks all!
(Here is my fake one for you all to see : D...apparently it is a VERY common fake....wish I had known! I also wish i still had the very realistic packaging too!)

Well to be honest I wasnt aware of such things myself until I got stung.....or  rather not aware that you could follow all the rules, and do everything right, like check for good feedback, (my seller had 1000s positve and 99% ratio....and not buy items that have a price that is 'too good to be true'...........and STILL get ripped off!
You live and you learn! Ive been shopping online for just about 10 years and this was the VERY FIRST time Ive had a problem of ANY kind!
I had gotten so confident shopping online, that I bought a pretty valuable watch online not a month ago..my first 'large' online purchase in fact.....a Casio GPW-1000 RAF edition... a quite rare '500 pieces in UK' item. Though it came from a large watch dealer, I realise now that it was still a risk (though I had the protection of paying by Credit Card..which I willl ALWAYS do from now on!)....as they may have sold a counterfiet item, and not actually realised it themselves...
Since I have had this experience of buying a counterfeit product,, I haev been reading into the phenomena..and it turns out that Casio G Shock watches (the type I spent a fari bit of money on...a legitimate one luckily!) are very heavily counterfeited...and are ALL OVER Ebay....who seems to do nothing about it!
I can understand (though not condone AT ALL) criminals counterfeiting a sought after watch design, or jewellery and things like that...because they have a market for them, in the shape of people that cant afford the real thing, and think its ok to buy a cheap and poor quality knock off, that only superficially appears to be real.......
...but I have to say its a big surprise to me that they would counterfeit something like an SD card, even if it is a quite highly regarded model.......and even go to such effort to copy the packaging perfectly......I think that the fact that so much effort went into faking a Samsung Evo 64gb sd card ..that it demonstrates that there are a LOT of them out there....hundreds of thousands for sure....but could there be millions?
Due to this prevelance, I think it might well be worth asking each person that comes on the forum with an SD card problem, in particular those with a'new' SD that is losing data, or needs to reformat all the time, or any of the 'giveaway' symptoms...to ask them for an image of the offending article as a starting point.....and to then compare it to images of the real ones that are online...
Im sure most of them will deny they own a fake....I certainly didnt think for one second my problems were due to a counterfeit card...as I said in my post...the first I knew of it was when Samsung themselves informed me!
Otherwise we end up going round in circles trying to 'fix the unfixable'..which is what happend to me : D
Anyway, I will keep an eye out for people on the forum, and a couple of other tech sites I frequent, and see if I can identify any more of these fakes, and hopefully can catch them soon enough that the customers can get their money back, since the problems often dont manifest themselves until the time for immediate refund is passed (once again, this happened to me, and Im having to claim through Paypal..though they are being very helpful...its only £22...but its the principle of the thing!)
    Thanks all, and stay vigilant!

  • Issue in sending the email with XL attachment in ECC version

    Hi,
I have an issue with sending the email with XL attachment. My program is sending a mail to the receiver with XLS as attachment. Recently we have migrated from 4.6B to ECC version. Same code was worked in 4.6B.But it is not working in ECC version. When i try to open the attachment, i get a Dialog Box with the following message
"The file is not in a recognizable format.
    1. if you know the file is from another program whih is incompatible with Microsoft excel, click cancel, then open this file in its original application
2.If you suspect the file is damaged, click help for more information about solving theproblem.
3.if you still want to see what text is contained in the file, click OK.Then click the text import wizard. "
when i click OK, the excel sheet is opening with all required data.
Can anyone kindly tell me why this is happening.
I am also attaching part of the coding related to this requirement.

  • How to send an external mail(PDF) through SCOT

    Dear All,
We have a requirement to mail customer invoice converting the smartform into a PDF. All the neccesary configuration that needs to be done in NACE and SPRO transactions has been done. Now when we issue the output through an output type through transaction VF03, output is successfully issued. In SP02 also it shows the printing is successfully completed.
But when i want to want to check the display log aginst the
output type and billing doc issued it says dat the processing log dosnt exist. We have configured the SCOT transaction for sending external email but it doesnt send the mail and even doesnt show any request in waiting and as well as no errors so we are not being able to identify whether the configuration done is wrng which doesnt seem to be the case or is dere a problem with SCOT configuration.
Could any1 pls help me with the entire flow of configuring SCOT if possible with screenshots for sending external email . or if possible wat is the possible problem we are facing...
                     Awaiting ur reply shortly.

  • Email Issue in GRC 10

    Dear Expert,
Currently i am facing a strange issue regarding email notification and I am not sure where was the problem stuck even I have raised a message to SAP but till no any success.
In our case we are getting a notification and approval mail in user SAP Inbox (SBWP) but not to the external mailbox like outlook.
we have already configured SMTP server (SCOT) and even send some test mail from SAP and its working fine.
Your quick response will be appreciable.
    Thanks,
    Regards,

  • Smartform to PDF conversion having issue with Russian address

We are having a business situation we are the invoice in English language and the the address of ship-to party and sold-to party in Russian.
    The issue we face is.
When the  smartform is converted to PDF the Russian specific characters are missing in the PDF output. The same are perfect in the smart form print preview.
we are using   CONVERT_OTF function module and we are getting the Russian characters correctly in the table parameter OTF.
    We are using "SX_TABLE_LINE_WIDTH_CHANGE" and " SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1"
function module to attach and mail the pdf.
In the PDF we are missing the Russian specific characters .
For Example in "Sedláčkova čč" the output is "Sedláčkova    " means "čč" is mising
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Joby

    Hi,
As described in note 999712 - PDF conversion for Unicode, there is a new unicode PDF converter PDFUC.
It depends on the SAP Version if you have to install the device type or not. You can check also via SPAD -> Full Administration -> Device Types -> Display.
You can pass the device type in the output options. I used:
    SSFCTRLOP-no_dialog   = 'X'.
    SSFCTRLOP-getotf      = 'X'.
    SSFCTRLOP-langu       = 'EN'.
    SSFCOMPOP-tdprinter = 'PDFUC'.
If you specify a device other than printer in the control options like SSFCTRLOP-device      = 'TELEFAX'., above will not work as
SSFCOMPOP-tdprinter is only evaluated for printer.
You have to check in SCOT -> Settings -> Device Types for Format Conversion.
You can make a general entry or for a specific language:
    PDF                           SAPscript/Smart Forms    PDFUC
PDF    EN    English    SAPscript/Smart Forms    PDFUC
Let me know if you get this working.
    Jeroen.

  • Issues with ldap_add via LDAP Interface on WS 2008 R2 from WGM for mounts

    Important Setup Information:
Active Directory domain on Windows Server 2008 R2
Extended AD Schema to include apple-* attributes
Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server 10.6.2 bound to Active Directory
Connected to Active Directory Forest in Workgroup Manager with Domain Admin / Schema Admin credentials.
    The Issue:
When attempting to configure a Home path using an SMB URL using the following attributes:
Mac OS X Server/Share Point URL:
    smb://gio-storage-01.giodivine.com/Users
    Path to Home Folder:
    user 01
    Full Path:
    /Network/Servers/gio-storage-01.giodivine.com/Users/user01
    I receive the following error:
    *Not authorized.*
This action failed because you are not authorized to perform the operation.
I checked the console, and found the following (completely useless) error:
Got unexpected error of type eDSPermissionError (-14120) on line 574 of /SourceCache/WorkgroupManager/WorkgroupManager -361.2.1/Plugins/UserAccounts/UserVolumesPluginView.mm
I enabled diagnostic logging of the LDAP Interface on the Active Directory server and acquired the following error attributed to the "permissions" issue that Workgroup Manager emits:
    Internal event: Function ldap_add entered
Internal Event: The LDAP server returned an error.
    Additional Data
    Error value:
00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090C30, comment: Error in attribute conversion operation, data 0, v1db0
So; it would appear that there is some issue with the Active Directory schema extensions, or that the UserVolumesPluginView module is not referencing the schema correctly. My expectation would be that an apple-mount object be created to describe the mount point in /Network/Servers and that the unixHomeDirectory attribute on the User object would be set to the newly created map point.
The latter occurs, i.e. the unixHomeDirectory attribute is set to:
    /Network/Servers/gio-storage-01.giodivine.com/Users/user01
The map point is never created in Active Directory, however. It did create a new container in AD at the root, i.e. cn=Mac OS X,dc=giodivine,dc=com, but nothing is ever created there.
I have attempted to completely remove all of the extended schema changes, re-compare an OD master against the AD PDC, recreate the schema changes LDF, and re-apply the changes to no avail.
Any information as to how I can find out exactly what call to ldap_add is being made so that I can somehow track down the faulty schema extension attribute would be helpful. Are there ways to enable verbose diagnostic logging of Workgroup Manager and it's accompanying modules?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Scot,
Sometimes a third party backup application will change the default VSS provider adding VSS writers which causes Windows Server Backup using an incorrect component in doing backup, that's why I suggest to delete it for a test.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE
Edit if there is any difference and make sure you created a backup of the key before editing.

  • ERMS: Issue with setting up charset

    Hi Experts,
We are using CRM 6.0 ERMS to send out emails to customers. Based on the Setting in transaction SCOT all the out going emails are sent with UTF-8 charset (Code Page: 4110). Today Japanu2019s internet mail standard is ISO-2022-JP, and most of mail applications have an option to encode outgoing message to JIS. However, all outgoing message from ERMS are UTF-8 (Unicode) without capability to encode other character code. This will result in Japanese mail message broken in most of webmail clients in Japan such as MSN Hotmail.
Has anyone faced this issue before. Can we achieve the funtionality wherein Japanese Code page gets selected based on the customers BP language?
    Regards,
    Namita

The language for the outgoing ERMS email is determined first by content analysis by TREX (some customers may choose not to set up TREX).   If this determination fails the language of the BP is taken into account . If the BP determination fails, the system language of the WF-BATCH user is taken .
From the logic above if the Content Analysis succeeds the Japanese language is set for the email.
We can check the Clasification/Trex setup to make sure that for an email received in Japanese for example the language is recognized.
As an example you can test/debug by following the steps below
1   Send an email in Japanese that will trigger auto acknowledge (need to create a mailform with Japanese text to use in auto acknowledge) .
2   In swi1 look for the background task id corresponding to the ERMS mail
3   Set a breakpoint in class CL_CRM_ERMS_ADD2FB_CA method
         IF_CRM_ERMS_SERVICE~EXECUTE line 77
        IF error_code <> 0.
        CONCATENATE 'TREX error:'(001) error_text '[' 'error code = ' msg
        ']' INTO msg.
        RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_crm_erms_service_failed
If error returned is not 0 means that either there is a problem with TREX or it just could not decide based on the content. However normally it should recognize the language. (Watch variable xml_chunk - at the end
of the XML there is a language tag that should have some value 'DE'
    'EN' etc)
4  Run program CRM_ERMS_LOGGING. For workitem id enter the id of the
    background task from step 2
    5. The program stops at the breakpoint mentioned above.
    6. Also note that if the language is detected correctly you need also the mail form that is used to be translated in that language ( Japanese ).
The language of the email overwrites the SXCPSEND entry (language to codepage mapping)
    To sumarize:
    1. Check if clasification/bp detects the language
    2. Mailform is translated in Japanese
    3. Mapping for codepage is maintained in SapConnect (SXCPSEND language to codepage mapping)
I hope these steps will help the investigation.
