Screen clip

How can I change the resolution when I do screen clips with (command - alt - 4) on macbook?

Trying to capture a still of video isn't going to work too well, I don't imagine. Are you capturing while paused or while playing?
Try recording the video with Quicktime (New Screen Recording). Then, take a screen shot of the still video.
Or, use iMovie or some other video editing to extract a still. Some have that capability which would handle the interlacing and such more effectively.

  • How to save drawings in a Screen clipping

    Good Afternoon Folks:
I have a problem in saving drawings  from a Screen clipping note. After capturing a screen, I will add a circle/highlight on a part of the screen in order to draw the reader's attention. Onenote however, saves only the screen clipping and ignores the
drawings and or any writings (annotations) I have added.
The only option I can think of now is to take another screenshot and use, does not seem efficient.
Can one of you experts help me out please?
    Thanks

    Hi
Were other contents in your Onenote saved well?
I have tested in my machine in both Onenote 2010 and 2013, and they worked well.
We recommend you start Onenote in safe mode to check the issue(Hold Ctrl key and click into the program):

  • Using 2 green screen clips and need to resize as one

I am using 2 green screen clips - one is a prop and the other shows kids.  I have successfully loaded both into the Premiere timeline.  I would like for the two to act as one so that I can resize them at the same time so I can zoom in on the kids.   How do I link/group/??? them so they can be resized at the same time.   Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thank you.   Nesting worked and allowed me to zoom in.

  • Strange problem when editing green screen clips

    Hi all,
I work as a technician in a High School.
    Recently I was doing some green screen work with a class, we were using 10 macbooks to edit. Out of the 10, 6 had this same problem;
At some point after inserting the green screen clips and the background, the project part of the iMovie window stops displaying anything, iMovie acts like the clips are still there though (If I move the cursor over the now empty space, I still see a preview in the preview window). But nothing is visible and nothing can be moved or changed.
Closing iMovie and reopening doesn't work, restarting the macbook doesn't work. The problem seems to be saved to the project file, if I open a new project, the new project is fine, but if I re-open the broken one, it's still broken. The only thing we could do was completely restart and delete the project file.
I hope this makes sense, due to this problem half of the class couldn't finish their work. The same problem has also occurred to another student who was working with green screen in iMovie 09 on an iMac.

    Hi Ted,
I've seen this issue before. One thing to remember is that iMovie has a live rendering feature, so sometimes during playback, the viewer does not always display correctly.
I don't know if you tried taking the green screen clip out, then re-adding it.
Also, trying to simply delete the preference file can fix the problem. Home folder>library>pref>imovie.plist
delete that and see if the problem persists.
Doing this will not effect any projects students have made in iMovie.

  • I need help using Ultra Key on a green screen clip.

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC to edit a blue screen clip, however, once I apply the Ultra key to the clip, I notice that when I start to render (using Adobe Media Encorder CC), the top part of the green screen clip gets blocked (cut off) by the replacement background! I have tried different backgrounds but I keep getting the same chest-to-head level blocked off with the background. When I remove the Ultra Key and render the
clip with it's green screen, then it renders just fine! BELOW IS A SCREEN SHOT OF MY PROBLEM.
    Help!!
    Thanks, Dru

Today 2014.2 was released. Might want ot update.

  • Why don't green screen clips snap together in imovie 11?

I film hundreds of green screen videos per year. I used to use imovie09, and when dragging one green screen clip next to another they would snap together. Now that I upgraded to imovie 11, it no longer allows you to snap the clips together, you have the cut the background in between them. Is there anyway to get these green screen clips to snap together like they used to in imovie09?

Well, now I'm even more confused.  I exported my iMovie project from my Mac Book Pro to my iMac and it worked perfectly.   Then I exported the same project to my Mac Book Air and it worked fine.    But when I go back to my Mac Book Pro - green screen effect simply shows as black and non transparent.   So, I have a work around but am puzzled why my Mac Book Pro doesn't work.   All systems on updated version of Lion and all have latest version of iMovie '11.   My Mac Book Pro is a mid 2009 - 2.8 Core 2 Duo and curious if anyone else has experienced this.

  • Green Screen works - replace green screen clip - nothing....

    iMovie 09 8.0.6. (821)
Seems like once I delete a green-screen clip from a background, I cannot replace it with another green screen clip.
I created the background clip. Created the green-screen clip by importing a Quicktime movie of an animation. Imported the movie. Dropped green on background - worked perfectly.
I deleted the green screen clip from above the background clip. Exited the project. Made a modification in the origin green-screen clip. Returned to the project Imported the modified Quicktime movie. Dropped it on the background. Got the + sign. Everything seemed okay. However. The green-screen does not appear.
As a test, I dropped it on a different clip in the same project - worked perfectly.
Seems like once I delete a green-screen clip from a background, I cannot replace it with another green screen clip.

It looks as though they used the keyed out torso as a track matte for the other footage.

  • Laptop screen clips was broken

I have laptop ENVY Sleekbook 6-1129WM, this one has a very bad screen clips, whatever, Today while I opened the laptop as usual and I found both clips broke. Regarding that I bout it on the Augast 2013.
Does the warranty covers that isse, and if so how to contact HP to tell them?
If it doesn't cover, what I should do?
    Thanks.

Just call them and ask them. Personally, they probably will cover it. It doesn't seem like accidental damage. Those things can weaken over time.

  • How do I combine to clips, into one split screen clip

    yeah ^ please help me

How do I combine to clips, into one split screen clip
Since iMovie '08 automatically centers files and currently has no control settings that allow the user to offset or displace the clips, this effect cannot be done from within this versions of iMovie. You can, of course do this externally using QT Pro, Final Cut, or Studio.

  • How do I reposition an inserted green screen clip into a corner of the host clip

Help needed on moving or repositioning an inserted green screen clip to a corner of a host clip for presentation purposes, any ideas ??? Thanks

You can drag and drop a photo at any point (at any frame... 30 frames per second.) Make sure you go to iMovie Preferences and enable Advanced Tools. You can drop a photo, and a pop up menu will come up. Choose Cutaway from the menu.
Further you can use drag and drop to select a range of frames, and then split the clip.
For example, lets say I have a clip of 60 frames (or 2 seconds).
I can drag so that the yellow border covers the first 30 frames. Then right-click/Split Clip. (Or EDIT/Split Clip.
I then have two virtual clips in the project. (Note: the underlying clip in the Event has not changed).

  • BROKEN SCREEN "CLIP" SCREEN NOT VISIBLE

I have just been given a Portege 7200 series with docking station. The clip which fastens the screen to the main unit is broken and the screen doesn't seem to work. Whilst I can cope with the broken clip, I wondered if this is affecting why the screen isn't working? I can only see a very very dim image. Obviously I use an external screen but wondered if there was anything I could do to make the laptop screen work again. Thanks for any help.

    Hi
I am pretty sure that some hardware component is defect. It can be FL inverter or something like that. In my opinion you should contact Service Partner and let them exchange it. Portege 7200 is very nice notebook.
In my opinion it is worthwhile to change it.

  • Why can't I add transitions to green screened clips?

I have still images with green-screened video on top. Is there a way i could merge the two or add transitions to the video part? it looks choppy with the green-screened part cutting out right before the transition of the still. thanks!

    Hello, AmezLady.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable manually add transitions.  This sounds like you may have automatic transitions enabled.  Try disabling this to see if you can manually add them.

  • How to reposition split screen clip keeping complex keyframing?

New to PP and trying to learn best practices for split screen sequences.
Lets say the screen is split into 3 vertical panels each with its own video of a person, the panels created by cropping. Each person has been meticulously position/scale/cropping-keyframed to center their faces in the middle of the vertical panel, rather than bouncing around the frame like in the original clips.
How do I reposition this center panel to the left side with one fell swoop, keeping all the keyframes so the face is still centered in the panel?
