Screen noise when using an ILO moniter

We recently purchased a Mac mini and bought a ILO 15" moniter from Walmart to use with this machine. It's fine when you first boot it up but after you open an application the screen starts to get lines accross it and they increase until you can barely see the screen. The computer still seems to be functioning except you can't click on anything with the mouse when it gets really bad.
The system specs. are: Mac mini running tiger. 512 meg of ram (apple installed) Moniter is 15" ILO with both DVI and SVGA imput. currently hooked up using the SVGA adapter supplied with the Mini. (when DVI imput is used the screen noise is present imeadiatly) The resulution is 1024X768 and the HCR is 400:1.

Try Adjusting the refresh rate. Go to displays I'm using the same exact LCD as you are. Sometime when you look real hard to the screen I see these thick wavey line moving diagnally non stop. I see this happen bad at 70Hertz.

Given that the zoom works normally, this is not an iPhoto issue. The problem lies in the interaction between your MacBook and the Projector. You might have more luck posting on the MacBook forum

Noise when using isight in Movie 08

I have substantial noise when using iSight in iMovie '08. Please see my example on Youtube Mirno63 labeled test. I would like to have my daughter practice for a recital using isight but the noise is so loud. Please help!

If I am listening to the correct YouTube video, I think that at least some of the sound that is troubling you is background noise. Sookyas may also be right that feedback is causing your problem.
In either case, using an external Mic that is positioned closer to the voice you want to record than to your MBP should help you.
I use this Logitech USB Desktop Microphone when I want to get sound from a person who is not close to my Mac. My Logitech does a GREAT job on spoken words. Although it is not advertised as (and does not cost as much as) a music microphone, it gives better sound recordings than my laptop's built-in mic unless the voice being recorded is very close to my laptop. It certainly meets my singing and other amateur music needs. However, other brands should work, too.
Unless you can buy one from a trusted retailer who will give you full exchange or refund credit if a new microphone does not correct your problems, I suggest you take your wonderfully portable MBP with you when you shop, add any needed driver, and test the mic before you buy.
Here is how I would perform the test.
• Leave "AudioMide" settings at default. (You should not need to change these settings when using iMovie except in extraordinary circumstances.)
• Set your  > System Preferences > Sound > Input to use the new mic as your input device.
• Extend the microphone's cable away from your MBP, and start recording.
• Leave the computer where it is and physically move near the mic so your mouth is approximately half a meter from mic.
• Sing or speak in a normal voice for a few seconds and then stop the recording.
• Now change your System Sound Input preference back to user you MBP's built-in mic again.
• Start recording again.
• Leaving the MBP in place, move back to the same place where you tested the external mic.
• Sing or speak again at about the same volume you did when using the external mic.
• Stop the recording, and play back both recording so you can compare them.
This test should let you easily determine whether the external mic meets your needs.
If the noise is still there when recording from the external mic, there is most likely something wrong with your Mac. Contact Apple or your Apple-Authorized Service Provider.

Not being able to hear application audio on quicktime screen recording when using headset

Can someone tell me how to still hear the computer audio (like the application sound) on while using quicktime screen recording when using headset?
Someone help me please or tell me another application to do this with.

your problem could be hardware/software. lets hope its software issue first and i'd like you to do these:
if you have personal files on volume c, copy/backup them. shut down your computer, press one key recover button to perform clean windows installation. then check if the issue still persists.
if you don,t want to use okr, you can use windows restore to restore your computer to previous restore points but if it's windows/virus issue, it may not help.

Crackling noises when using Scarlett 2i2?

Just bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 yesterday as my previous audio interface broke. Now I am having crackling noises when using the 2i2. . .a problem I did not have with my previous M-Audio Fast Track C400. . .so I know it's a problem specific to the 2i2. Already downloaded the latest drivers as well.
Anybody have any solutions or similar problems with this product??? The crackling noise is intolerable.

Hi lee, it sounds like the problem your having is exactly the same as mine. When I use the 2i2 there is clapping and crackling which gets worse and worse until the sound disappears, I know a few people on different forums are having the same issue so I don't think it is the interface. I'm using iMac 27

•      3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
•      16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X8GB
•      1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
There should be no problems with this set up in terms of capability, I'm still waiting to hear back from Focusrite tech help desk and when I do I'll share the outcome. I hope this can be resolved, let me know if you have any luck before me?
If I was in the UK I would pick up the phone and call Focusrite but I'm in Australia!!

HOW TO KEEP SCREEN ON WHEN USING GPS OR SHOOTING THE VIDEO

I was wondering if there any setting I could leave the screen on when using GPS or shooting the video, I'm currently set backlight timeout is 2 mins. After 2 mins device will automatically out and I have to reenter the password for continue my video, This is very inconvenience when using GPS or shooting the video.
Is there any one out there can assist? thanks in advance.

Noise when using external monitor

When I connect my MacBook Pro to an external LCD screen and also connect my soundoutput to an external amplifier I get noise in the speakers. What can I do to avoid this?
It gets even worse when using powercord on my MacBook.

this is caused by processor noise/power interference. one fix is to turn the volume all the way up on the macbook pro,and adjust volume on the amplifier.

Why does the screen unlock when using voice dialer on iphone 5S?

Here's the scenario I'm referring to: my iphone is in my pocket with the screen locked and headphones plugged in. I toggle the mic switch and use voice control to place a phone call. On every other iphone I have owned, the screen stays locked. On the 5S, the screen unlocks when the call begins, making the end call button or other phone buttons able to be activated accidentally by my leg.
Why did they change this feature on the 5S? The iphone 5 stays locked in the same scenario. Just updated to 7.0.4 and it still hasn't been fixed. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Selection screen validation when using PNP LDB

Hi guys,
I want to validate my selection screen parameters.Thats is if somebody wants to run the program without giving any input parameters to the selection screen(trying to run the report with a blank screen) I want to pop up an error/information message so that it will return the selection screen.I am using PNP Logical database for my selection screen.Please help.Thanks in advance.

If you are using PNP logical data base then validating the fields will be little tricky...
You canc check all the other fields in START-OF-SELECTION and if they are empty return eroor. Remember all the field s on the scree... so I will suggest you to choose HR report Category accordingly.
Also,when it comes to date field then you need to check for the start and end dates rather than blank fields as SAP defaulted them to system start and end date.
Still, I will prefer to create a HE Report Category for the PNP database and use the screen while validating....that will be easy...

Photoshop CS6 - Screen flickering when using brushes with new MacAir 2013

A number of users experience severe screen flicker in Photoshop CS6 when using any of the larger brush type tools (cloning, eraser, brush, spot healing, burning, and dodging). As many on this thread are experiencing, it is awfull and unusable! The flicker is screen wide black boxes, sometimes the whole screen goes black. It only seems to happen when we put the cursor over the image to edit.

Looks like a CS6 is not compatible with teh new MacAir. Please look into this and advise.

An update:
I went to the Apple store and brought myself a more recent MacBook Air (13", 4/256 FYI, they were out of the 8/512 model). I can't reproduce *exactly* what you're showing, but got the flicker to happen by resizing the cursor. Also, while painting, the screen seems to stop updating except for the cursor -- not only is Photoshop unable to draw, but other applications stop drawing as well. And a few times it hasn't even updated the cursor (while all other apps seem frozen). That's not normal.
When I see the flickering, I frequently see the menubar and other UI elements draw at the wrong location on the LCD, then black, then redraw in the correct location -- repeat in different positions and lots of "static" until I stop changing the cursor. That's more evidence of a hardware or and odd driver issue. The odd thing is: it doesn't happen all the time. It's possible that the one we have at the office also shows the problem, but we didn't test long enough.
I'm trying to reach out to my hardware contacts at Apple - but it's a weekend before a holiday, so we may not make progress immediately.
One thing that would be useful here: the model of MacBook Air that you have that shows (or doesn't show) the problem.

Wierd noise when Using the XP partition

Hey guys,
When I'm using the XP partition I would also plug in another monitor while working. I would get this weird sound (like a robot) followed by pauses or short freezes when in the middle of my work. It doesn't happen all the time but only when i'm playing audio or scrubbing videos.
what do you think is happening? and what can i do to eliminate this?

Noise when using ext dvi monitor

when i plug in my dvi monitor i get loud sound interferrence through my ext speakers plugged into my mbp. if i turn off the seocnd monitor or unplug the dvi cable the noise is gone. This has nothing to do with the cpu

It happens the same to me. I just get the noise when plugin in an external monitor, and when i do the noise is unbereable. I use the MBP to make music!!!

Screen Flicker when using Lightroom

I'm helping a friend try to resolve a problem he has when using Lightroom. He's using a Dell Inspiron 546 desktop with an AMD Athlon II X2 250 (3.0GHz, 2MB cache), 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM (800MHz), ATI Radeon HD 4350 (512mb), 7200RPM drive, Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit).
When Lightroom runs, the screen flickers and the CPU pegs out at 100%.
Are there any known ways to overcome this issue?

At this point, I think I will have to go back to LR 3.x. Lightroom 4 is so unstable that I cannot get it to work. I constantly get not responding messages and screen flickering in the develop module.
I have done everything I can find and nothing seems to work. It is either an incompatibility with the AMD video drivers (best guess) or there is something seriously wrong with the code (second guess), however LR 3.2 does not have this issue.

Screen flicks when using miniDVI - S Video on WinXP

Hi -
I have installed WinXP using BootCamp. Now when I try to use miniDVI to S-Video the screen on Laptop flicks and the TV shows 'no signal'. I tested this on OSx10 and seems like this setting works and I can see the extended screen on my TV without the laptop screen getting flicked.
Can anyone help in finding the problem. Would appreciate the help.

I understand the computer display flickers when using the AMD driver. The issue is probably related to hardware, but there are a couple things I would like you to try fist:
First, please uninstall and reinstall the AMD Driver according to these steps:
1. Go into Device Manager, then Display Adapters.
2. Right-click on the AMD driver, and select uninstall.
3. Restart the computer. This will force a driver to be reinstalled.
If that doesn't help, my other suggestion is to update the computer to Windows 8.1. Using the AMD driver in a different OS might work.
