Screen refresh for participants very slow on beehive web conference

When I am sharing my desktop with participant on Beehive web conference, the screen refresh is very slow for the participants. It almost takes 1 minute for the screen to refresh on the participants screen. I am on Windows 7.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Given we have very little control over the network bandwidth of the end user it is difficult to determine what the problem could be - normally the refresh is reasonably fast but if there are a lot of users or a restricted bandwidth it can show down a bit.
One trick to aid the display is to not move the mouse around the screen - pointing to the entities on the page will increase the amount of information being sent. If you can click one and wait for the screen to be rendered at the other end before continuing it may be a bit quicker.

Put your first emphasis on memory. Don't even consider 2 GB.
Second, maximize your SSD size according to the ability of your wallet. Lastly is your processor.
For what you describe the MBA is plenty fast.

  • Need help with Leopard: screen saver glitch and very slow internet

I performed an erase and install leopard 10.5.1 on my upgraded G4 AGP Sawtooth Computer several times. Has anyone had the following 2 problems with leopard and any suggestions to solve them? Apple telephone support has not helped thus far. The Issues include:
1-Internet surfing (Safari and Firefox) is extremely slow worse than dial-up. I have verizon fios. Upgrading leopard to 10.5.3 and upgrading Safari did not help and took about 10 hours to download when it should have been quick.
2- A screen saver glitch: When I click on screen saver such as beach I get this message. " Screen saver "beach" did not load properly. Error Can't load bundle" When I click on the screen savers folder, there is nothing in it. Desktop pictures work fine.
    Computer upgrades include:
Processor-OWC Mercury Extreme [email protected] 2MB L3 Cache
    2GB memory
    Two 120GB hardrives.
    Firmware is updated.
Thus far, all this was done:
Apple exchanged install disk. Same results with new disk.
I ran disk utility and everything is ok including permissions.
I performed a safe boot with apple support.
I Threw away cache folder and com.apple.safari.plist
Tried firefox with same very slow surfing results.
I even checked file system structure problem fsck -yf. Everything was ok
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Althought the behavior is the same in all three accounts, if all are working accounts I would suspect there is something all of them have installed that could be the source of the problem. Try creating a new admin account, and leave it just the way Apple creates it--don't add anything nor modify it in any way. Log into that account and see if it works correctly.
If that account is also misbehaving, try restarting, and when you hear the chime hold down the Shift key so that you boot into Safe Mode (you'll see a notice in the splash screen about being in Safe Mode). The boot will take longer (perhaps even considerably longer) as the system runs disk repair, empties some caches, disables all third party startup items, as well as all Apple startup items not strictly necessary for the machine to run. See the menus and Dock now behave correctly.
Since the problem is evidently somewhat intermittent in nature it may take some patience to discover what is wrong. You might also disconnect everything that didn't come with the Mac, reboot, and use only the Apple keyboard and Apple mouse and run for a bit to see how that works. If you are using a third party mouse that required installing something that would be my guess as a "prime suspect" for the cause of the problems.

  • How to identify reasons for a very slow transaction?

    Hi All,
If I see that a SAP standard transaction is very slow for every user, what are the areas that I will have to look to get it resolved.
All other transactions work quick and only one transaction is very sluggish. How to find the root cause and resolve this?
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi,
I have used Tx Code SGEN to reduce the time to open every Transaction. As opening every transaction require the compilation of some programs, reports etc, which takes a lot of time.
This transaction S creen GEN erator,  will load(compiled version of ) all the frequently used transactions into the database. Database size will be increased by 2 GB or more.

  • Use VLC for YouTube and other Flash Player videos. Flash has become very slow and VLC Web Player works perfectly for other video websites.

I'd like to use VLC Web Player for viewing YouTube videos rather than use Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is very slow on my other computers and when websites use my VLC Web Player, I have no issues whatsoever. I'm curious if this can be done with Firefox, as I researched it only to find an add-on for Google Chrome only.

You may be able to disable Flash entirely and just use HTML 5 video codecs to view the videos this is faster but you may lose access to some videos such as ones that have mandatory advertisements.

  • Very slow GUI in web browser application

    Hello,
I am trying to write a web browser application and I have a problem with the GUI. When the page is being loaded and set on the JEditorPane the GUI becomes very slow (actually it freezes). I don't know if this happens because of my swing implementation or because I am not using threads properly.
I use the SwingWorker class. I created a worker thread which loads the web page and then sets it to the JEditorPane.
Could you give me some ideas please? Below are some parts of my code.
    Thank you
    public class BrowserFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame {
/** Creates new form BrowserFrame */

  • Needed: Optimization tips from a Pro for a very slow internet connection

I am on a remote base in Iraq with about 150 people sharing a satellite connection with a 2MB pipe. It is slow. There is nothing I can do about the volume of people, QoS from the provider, and there is no competition.
Given that, I would like to know what I can tune on my machine to make the most of a slow, frustrating experience.
I have noticed although I have browser caching turned on, it appears my browsers (safari, Omni, FF) don't try t take advantage of it. They still spend 10 minutes trying to get in touch with the website and start from scratch. Is there a browser that visits it's cache first and then looks for changes? Are there settings I am overlooking that can force the browser to load from cache first and then look for differences? Are there command line parameters or configuration files I can edit and modify to make a difference for the better?
I also have a buddy running linux and he installed a DNS caching mechanism that reduced his repeat lookups from 5 seconds to 0. He also installed another website data caching mechanism that truly stores the pages of websites he frequently visits. His experience was enhanced tremendously.
What do you recommend I do from the command line and within my browsers to maximize facilities like caching to make a slow situation a little better?
I apprecite your time and advice

    Hi Sahar,
    1) To post your adsl line statistics you can be connected to the home hub or router via wireless.
Below is some information on how to obtain your adsl line stats. You can also see this link here ADSL Statistics
    ADSL Line Statistic Help:
If you have a BT Home Hub like the one below...
    Then:
     1) Go to http://192.168.1.254 or http://bthomehub.home
     2) click Settings
     3) Click Advanced Settings
     4) Click Broadband
     5) Click Connection or sometimes called ADSL (see picture Below)
The direct Address is http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116 (for bthomehub3.A firmware ending in 1.3)
or http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9118 (for bthomehub3.A firmware ending in 94.1.11)
You will need to copy and past all the adsl line statistics ( Including HEC, CRC and FEC errors). You may need to click " More Details"
There are more useful links on Keith's website here: If you have an ADSL connection, please select this link
    2) To run and post the results of a BT Wholesale Speed Test it is recommended to do this with a wired ethernet connection, as a WiFi connection can be effected by other electronic devices in your property.
It is also best to have a landline phone of some sort, even if you don't use it, at is is a very handy tool to test your landline for any noise.
As any noise on your landline can dramatically reduce your broadband performance.
You can get a cheap corded landline phone from most electronic stores or online.
They are also good in emergencies when there is a power cut as a corded landline phone will still work.
    Hope that helps,
    Cheers

  • Weird graphic before login screen and laptop is VERY slow

    Hello,
So I have an Early-2011 MacBook Pro 17".  Lately (past 3 months) the computer has been slower (which is normal, it's getting older) but now it is just unbearably slow and for seemingly NO reason.  I have meters on the menu bar that say there is pleny of RAM left and the processor is running at 2%-6%.  I can't figure out for a single reason why this is happening, but it is EXTREMELY frustrating, since only 2.5 years ago I paid 3200$ for this computer.
Now there is a weird graphic that appears RIGHT before the login screen appears.  I have attached a photo.  I currently own an iPhone 5, iPad 4, iMac 20" (2008), MacBook Pro 17" (early 2011), and an iPod Touch 3rd Generation.   I have had problems with almost all the products, but yet have remained a die-hard Apple fan.  I'm beginning to question my affinity to Apple, because I could have purchased a 17" Windows computer for MUCH less and then just replaced it this year.  Instead I thought this piece of junk would last me 6 years.... This is hardly looking like it will be the case, as I can barely do anything on it as of now.
    It's an early-2011 MacBook Pro 17", with a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM and a 750GB Western Digital Black hard drive running at 7200RPM.

    justinjsc,
I can’t explain the weird graphic, but I can offer something to try regarding the slowdown. Boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Did this make any difference?
In case the slowdown is due to a problem with your hard drive, do you make regular backups? If not, you might want to consider buying an external drive to use as a Time Machine backup destination.

  • Quicktime SDK for Windows very slow processing UNC paths

    Hi,
I am using the QuickTime SDK to ingest a file to XDCAM mov reference and storing the output file on a network drive using a UNC path.
My call to QTNewDataReferenceFromFullPathCFString(...) is increadably slow in returning (7.5 seconds), so much so that the rest of the system gives up and the ingest fails.
I tried using QTNewDataReferenceFromCFURL(...) but this didn't make any difference.
If I map the network drive the call to QTNewDataReferenceFromFullPathCFString(...) is very quick and the ingest completes without issue.
I am using QuickTime SDK version 7.3, QuickTime player version 7.7.3 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Is this a known problem with QuickTime?
    Thanks for your help.

I have 32gig of ram with CS5 running on Windows 7 and it never uses a scratch.
Not directly related to your main question, but this statement is flawed.  Photoshop ALWAYS opens scratch files.  I have 48GB and just opening Photoshop causes scratch files to be created with names like Photoshop Temp208190803952.
I only mention this because if you're not seeing such files created, you may not have your Scratch preferences or permissions set right.
Can you screenshot your Edit - Preferences - Performance panel, please, and post it here?
And a last note that DOES bear on your Liquify issues:  If you're truly using Liquify a lot, you really, REALLY need to look into upgrading to Photoshop CS6.  You know they re-wrote it to use the GPU in the new version, right?  It's night and day faster.

  • Fix for a very slow browser

    Hello All,
    I hope this helps.
Here's my problem. My browser, when wireless, had slowed down dramatically. Loading pages took forever. I tried it at home and the office and both were slow.
When I plugged it directly into the Ethernet it was blazingly fast. Made me want to cry
I tried many of the things suggested here including clearing cache etc.
Here's what worked for me. Corrupt network config file I guess.
    System Preferences
    Network
Location tab click to "New Location"
Name it Apple (or anything you like)
    Click Apply
See if that works for you. Fixed 2 weeks of frustration for me!

Thanks for posting this Justin. I'm sure it will help others wondering what happened to their browser speed,
Also, consider adding 4.2.2.2 to your Network>Airport>TCP> DNS servers box, selecting "apply". This too may help in the speed department.

  • Request for Help - Very slow and programs crash, etc. since upgrading to Lion

I have searched the forum for a while looking for answers, but everyone seems to have different issues.
Since upgrading to Lion last week, EVERYTHING is running slow.  I have an iMac (late 2009) with 4GB ram and over 700GB of free hard drive space.
I am not running a ton of heavy duty programs -- just the basics - word, entourage, safari, preview, and occasionally Photoshop, iPhoto, etc.  I haven't even tried to edit any video since upgrading.
I continually get the "spinning wheel" when doing the most simple tasks like deleting a mail message, or opening a pdf file.
I have done all software updates.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kim

Entourage & Photoshop are both serious memory hogs.    Export your data to Mail, Addressbook and iCal*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/entouragemigration.html
Next for Photoshop, make sure to follow tips on the http://roaringapps.com/apps:table website for your version of Photoshop, to ensure you aren't overtaxing your system, and that you are usign any applications that are current for Lion. If you have any WiFi routers, make sure WPA2 password protection is on, and not WEP, and not an open network, and that their firmware has been tested with Lion.  Lastly, speed issues may be due to website design.  Try different browsers*: http://www.macmaps.com/browser.html

  • Bridge for mac - Very slow connect after installing sd card

    Hey guys,
after I installed a 32gb SD card,  the connection-procedure is really slow. The green bar fills in not 10sec but in 2 minutes now. What happened? Really the SD card? What can I do?
    Thanks!

    Hey guys,
I had to move the XperiaTransfer-Folder to my SD-card. Now, after I moved it, the date of 70% of the photos is the current date and nearly 900 images are dated for today. It's quite hard to navigate through the images now. How does the Sony Gallery app gather information? What can I do to fix it?
    Thanks

  • Using a hand held for rdp - very slow performance

My customer is trying to implement a bar code scanning system to improve their inventory management and shipping efficiency. They just built a new warehouse and are in the process of moving in. They have purchased 2 Intermec handheld bar code scanners which
run Windows CE and support an RDP session over wi-fi. We have installed 2 Cisco 1602 wifi access points.
The software that they run is called Chempax. It is an industry specific app written for the chemical industry. The chempax app has a special program that is designed to run  on the 4" screen of the handheld device. When the scanner connects to
the terminal server, the session automatically launches that app. Basically, all it does is let the operator scan bar codes to move product from location to location. It would seem to be something that would not require much in the way of computing speed on
the remote end. But we are having major problems implementing this system. The handheld keeps dropping the rdp connection, even when it has a strong wi-fi signal. It will work for a short while and then the screen will just hang for a while and then it will
    start working again.
I have tested the app using a laptop and it works great on the laptop, but I have not been able to get it working on the handheld.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
I agree with Bruno. It seems to be a device side issue. I suggest discussing the issue with the vendor. Also, as it runs Windows CE, you can try to post the question in Windows CE forum for
    troubleshooting ideas.
