Screen saver photo sizes

Is there any way to reduce the size of my photos on the screen saver? They appear distorted because they are so large.

Use a program like photoshop to crop your picture to the exact size of your screen resolution. For example when I take pictures with my digital camera I use 1600x1200 pixels. I can crop this to 1440x900 which is the resolution of my Imac G5 or I can let the desktop picture software fit the picture to the screen.

  • Full screen mode and Screen saver Photo viewing

The problem I have is my images vary in size, due to photos being taken on different cameras, with different settings, or photos/negatives that have been scanned.
When viewed in iphoto some of the photos are smaller than others in full screen mode (obviously because they are smaller) where as the larger photos are "made to fit"
When viewed with the screen saver in System Prefs. The large images appear pixalated and "zoomed in" Where as the small and medium sized photos look great.
is there any way of solving these issues?
    any suggestions much appreciated.

Set it to the iPhoto Library.
When you set it to the Photos folder that's exactly what you get. The Pictures Folder has many thumbnails and alternate versions of the photos as well as other garbage you don't want.

  • Why No Desktop / Screen Saver Photos After Upgrade to 3.3.1?

After upgrading to Aperture 3.3.1, no Aperture Desktop / Screen Saver images appear. Message "Unable to locate XXX" comes on. When I went into System Preferences, I find my iPhoto Library I have but NO Aperture Library & resulting Projects & Albums.
I can open Aperture, import new photos, scroll thru all my Projects, Albums, Folders etc just NOT see them in Desktop /  Screensaver.
    Thanks / Gene

I went into Aperture and clicked on Render Previews and all the Aperture Projects etc appeared and solved the problem : -)

  • Screen Saver - photos no longer available for screen saver

I had screen saver set up to display my photos. I can't remember if the photo's were pulled from Aperture or from MobileMe. Now I get a message that there are no photos in the folder or no pictures associated with the subscription (MobileMe). This seems to have happened after the 10.5.6 upgrade the other day.
Has anyone else lost their photos in screen saver with the 10.5.6 upgrade? How can I get these photos back?
    Thanks

  • Screen Saver and Size of Background - Help, please!

    Hello there!
I have a brand new Dell computer from Best Buy. With my last computer (Gateway), I was able to set up an automatic screen saver of a slideshow of pictures if my computer was not used for a certain amount of minutes.
With this new computer, I have set up the same settings, but the screen saver NEVER comes on. I have clicked everything I need to, accepted, and saved the settings, but it never works. Any ideas?
I decided to try and fix it myself, so I went into the Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Change Screen Saver, and then went into Power Settings to see if maybe the display wasn't working for this reason. I cannot remember what I did, but now the background picture is HUGE.
To fix this, I have gone into screen resolution and display/power settings, but everything seems to be set to "recommended", so I cannot figure out what happened to make the images so large suddenly.
    1) Can you help me get the screen saver slideshow to activate?
    2) How do I get my background pictures back to normal size?
Thank you so much for your help!!! I really appreciate it.

Wow, so sorry for the hype delayed response. it could be that your laptop was timing out for powersave before the screensaver would kick in. The best thing to do is go into your screen saver, set it to 1 minute and then let it sit for a minute without touching it (with it plugged in). It should kick in. Again, most laptops cut the monitor off after just a few minutes to conserve the power of the battery. I'm glad that the other solution worked for you =)

  • Screen Saver Photo Slide Show...

...Hello... This used to work but for some reason it doesn't any more. Whenever I go to the screen saver preferences and choose a folder full of pictures to use as a photo slide show screen saver, it says 'folder contains no pictures'. However, is DOES contain pictures but won't recognize them. All the other screen saver features work besides this one. I tried to download and install some screensaver a while back and it hasn't worked since then... Any ideas? Thanks =)

  • How do I stop/remove screen saver photos in default collections?

I installed Mavericks with no problems, however, I want to get rid of the screen savers/default collections. The desktop/wallpaper seems to be working fine: it rotates through my own "desktop pictures" collection.  However, I have been unable to eleminate the default collections photos from the screen savers. In System Preferences the source for screen savers is my "desktop pictures" folder, and my photos do come up, however, all the default collections photos are mixed in. If I uncheck Shuffle Slide Order, the default collections photos come on first.
Now, here's the mystery: I deleted (with a Secure Empty Trash) the default collections photos! The folder is empty. I've also put all the
com.apple.screensaver..... plist files in the trash. But they aren't deleted. Where are these photos coming from?  Why do they still show up? What do I have to do to get rid of them? I've searched the hard drive (as best I can) using a couple of the file names, but nothing comes up. Would I get a better search by using Terminal?

  • ATV1 screen saver photo shuffle?

I have synced about 8500 photos onto the ATV1 hard-drive.  I have selected them all to be shuffled - yet it seems the same 200 or 300 photos turn up when the screen saver kicks in.   Any suggestions on how to get a wider variety engaged in the screen saver shuffle?  Thank you..

  • How can I eliminate preference menu freezing when I attempt to change screen saver photo?

All software is current, but now unable to change the photo on my screen saver.  Preferences will not respond.

I understand something else, that your question is not about 'no advance' for all slides (for which you could use the approach of TLCMediaDesign) but that you are talking about a Menu slide. You have already several interactive objects on that slide, right? What is their goal? Is there any reason why you are not using their possiblity to pause the slide? Maybe post a screenshot of the slide with the timeline when you explain the goal of those interactive objects.

  • Some screen saver photos 90 degrees flipped

I have the Apple TV set to show my photos, from iPhoto, in screen saver mode. All was OK until just now, and suddenly odd photos appear rotated 90 degrees. These would be pics that were taken in portrait mode on the camera, but have been rotated into the correct alignment within iPhoto. Nothing is different in iPhoto - the problem shots are still the right way round. It worked before; why not now, and how to get it working correctly again?

I'm sure. 3rd party editor not involved. What may have kicked it off is that a couple of times in the last two weeks I have had the problem of AppleTV not showing up in iTunes devices list, which I have only been able to fix by unlinking the Apple TV to my iTunes library and then relinking it. This of course causes the Apple TV to wipe all iTunes content and then re-download it from the computer. But I guarantee I had not monkeyed about with any of the photos in the mean time.

  • Screen Saver Photos are beginning to rotate on their own.  (How) Can this be stopped?

I have a large number of photos I use for Screen Saver and they are beginning to rotate spontaneously, sideways and upside down.  Is there anything I can do to stop this action?  I'd have to go through hundreds of photos to find and change the twisted ones and from previous experience the adjustment doesn't hold for long if at all.
They are held in my Kodak and iPhoto Apps and/or under "Pictures" file in my home directory.
I am using OSX 10.6.8 on an Intel Core 2 Duo, 21" iMac.
    TIA ....goldie

The only way to do this is set the Scope of the prompt to Page and not Dashboard ... are you setting any values of the prompted columns in these prompts - if you set a presenataion variable in prompts 1 or 2 then don't use it to preload the the columns on prompts 3 or 4. Curious - what do you have the defaults set to? Report defaults? Specific Value? etc.
Also: I notice you reference the 3rd prompt as being Scoped at Page - what about prompts 1 and 2? All 4 should be scoped at page ...

  • Screen saver, photo file

Sadly, my photo files are saved, but not well organized. For my screen saver I run random photos from my own iphoto files. Sometimes I see a photo that I'd forgotten and would love to print, I'd like to locate the number of the original file. Is there any way to access image file number when an image appears on screen saver? So I can notate and locate the file and work with it?
    Thank you,

  • Screen Saver Photo Slideshow: how to advance to the next or previous photo?

I am a new iMac convert and we love using the beautiful 27" monitor to view our family photos. Is there a way to go backwards to the previously displayed photo by using a key on the keyboard? On Windows PCs, the right/left directional arrows would allow the user to scroll forwards and backwards to scan pictures in the slideshow. Is there a way to do this on the MAC? From my experience hitting any key (including the directional arrows) on the keyboard interrupts the slideshow and displays the desktop. Thanks!

I see that you can go to a previous photo when in a slideshow in iPhoto. Is there a way to do the same thing with the screensaver though? I have the screensaver scrolling through my iPhoto pictures.
