Screensaver for Macs?

Hi I created a screensaver with flash and then put it through axailis software for the installer but it doesnt work for macs. I have looked for a program that this would work on but the only thing I could find is screentime, which makes screensavers for macs but you need to create the swf with a mac and have screentime for a mac. Is there a program out there where I can create a mac screensaver from a pc. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Randy

  • Screensaver for 20th Anniversary Mac

Hello, I'm looking for a screensaver for my old and bautyful 20th Anniversary Mac. Somebody knows where to find a screesaver (aquarium style...) and if it works with OS 7..6.1 ? Thanks

    rmpostal,
After Dark was the most widely used screen saver.  A google search revealed several options.  Email if you need a disk copy.
    Here is an OS-X version:

I did not spend a lot of time searching for the older downloads because it would be faster to walk upstairs and copy it off the TAM.

  • How Do I Create a Screen Saver for Mac

I need to create a screensaver for my mac OS 10.38. Can I use .SWF files to do this or a GIF? I tried dropping a .SWF movie into screensaver in Preferences but it didn't seem to work.
How can I animate a logo as a screen saver?

    Hi,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
There are a few tools you can use. This page lists a couple. It looks like you can download a trial version and see if it'll do what you want. If not there's another one on that page.
If you're handy with programming, you can also create your own with Xcode. There's an article here that talks about it, though it's a bit old, and might be somewhat out of date.
But just dropping SWF files probably isn't going to work. A screen saver is a special kind of program...

  • Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2

Software Update keeps telling me that this update is available, even after multiple "successful" installations and reboots. Any ideas why?
    $ java -version
    java version "1.5.0_16"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_16-b06-284)

This morning i installed "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2" on my 2x3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, running OS X 10.5.5 with all available official Spple Software updates.
Since that update my mac freezes when any scrensaver is activated.
Plus, i can no longer edit Google spreadsheets, neither on Safari nor on Firefox (i was able to do that before and i can still do that on a windows machine, though).
Has anyone experienced similar phenomenons and possibly found a solution?
I have not yet installed it. I usually wait for a while and even then I do a manual DL and install.
I don't know about the Google thing, but I don't know what the tie-in is with your screensaver, unless you are using some Java based 3rd party SW for running it.
The update included some security items to prevent a website from taking over your computer. While I personally don't trust Google to access my system, it's possible that Google has not make their system compatible with this new Java update.
And finally, it's possible that there is something wrong with the update.
You might be able to uninstall it but I would be careful and certainly make sure my backup was good.

  • Is there a 3-D slideshow template for Mac?  New to Mac.

Just got my first Mac, and trying to learn it. I mainly used my Windows PC to create DVD 3-D photo slide shows, with 3D Album Picture Pro. Don't think that software is Mac compatible. I have iMOVIE and iPHOTO on my Mac, not sure about iDVD. Do any of these programs contain 3-D templates? (ex: not simply cool transitions... photos actually move thru the space) Is there a third-party product that is for Mac out there for these types of slideshows?

With try before you buy, then only $20 I have a lot of fun and success with this one, PhotoPresenter

Here's another nice one, PulpMotion for a little more $:

Also, as an aside, here is a freeware program called MovingPhotos3D. It is a screensaver that uses your selection of iPhoto library pictures. It is really beautiful and shows off OS X core animation capabilities. When we have company at home, I connect my macbook pro to the tv and let it rip.

  • Opening animated gif in PSE 8 for Mac

I am switching from PSE for PC to PSE 8 for Mac.
I have always been able to open animated gif as layers and work with them, then resave as an updated animated gif.
WIth PSE 8 for Mac, I get a pop up that the file is animated and can only see the top frame. Any ideas on how to open up all of the frames in layers?

Do I need to enable this process for my Mac? Maybe I'm missing a plug-in or update?
I have been opening these files from others, tweeking and resaving for almost 2 years in PSE. It definitely will not shuffle the individual panels on an animated gif into the layers box.
My tweeking usually involves adjusting frame speed. Is that what you mean by 'frame rate'?
    Thank you for your help.

  • How do i add multiple lines in a cell (like a list) in Excel for MAC?

I'm trying to add multiple lines (in the form of a list) in a individual cell in Excel for MAC.  I used ALT Enter on my PC but that doesn't work on the iMac.  Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

It's been a while but I think you hold SHIFT while typing a page break (RETURN) to make a new line without shifting to another cell.
However, as Excel isn't an Apple product, I am sure you will get a faster and more current answer by using Microsoft's Office:Mac forums here:

  • SAV for Mac 9.2.7 released!

    Hey everyone,
We released SAV for Mac 9.2.7 to all home users late last week.
    This release at a glance:
    Compatible with OSX 10.6 - 10.10
    Stability and performance improvements
Updated threat engine and threat data (release notes for threat detection engine)
Provides an updated version of OpenSSL
    Fixed SophosUIServer.app crashes
Fixed streaming issues from francetv.fr website
    How to get the update?
If you're already running SAV, you should have automatically recieved the update courtesy of Sophos AutoUpdate
You can also manually trigger an update by clicking the Sophos sheild tray icon and clicking Update Now
Download a copy from our website
What about OSX 10.11 "El Capitian"?
In the last few weeks I've seen some folks asking about 10.11, which is currently available as a pre-release. At the moment, SAV 9.2.7 *should* work if SAV is already installed before you upgrade, but the install will fail if you attempt to install a fresh copy post-upgrade. That said, we'll be releasing another update for SAV prior to the official release of 10.11 "El Capitain"  which will ensure full compatibility, so at the moment we recommend upgrading with caution.
    Questions? Feedback on SAV 9.2.7?
Post it here and we'll get back to you ASAP!

  • I can no longer read any material in nook for mac. I have a macbook pro running lion. I used to be able to but something changed and i can no longer read it. any help?

I have nook for mac loaded on my macbook pro. When I try to open a book or magazine nothing happens. I`ve downloaded the nook program twice thinking it was a bad download but to no avail. Any help?

I found the following suggested fix, posted by a user on Barnes & Noble's site:
    1. Create a folder in your Applications folder, call it: NOOKforMac
Once you've done this, copy the Nook app to this folder. This should allow the app to run on the 1st or possibly second attempt to launch it.
    2. Once you're done using the app always quit it by clicking on the X (red in some cases) button of the application window (upper left hand corner)
This seems to have resolved the issue and my guess is that somehow the .dmg volume path is somewhere hard coded in the app configuration.
Elsewhere in that thread, the administrator advises calling Customer Service Team at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665) and choose option 2 for Digital Support.
    Good luck.

  • Want to use my ipod for Mac @ home and PC @ work....

I have a Mac at home and have my ipod set up for the Mac I guess. So I brought the ipod to work today to hook it up to itunes here on my PC, but itunes says only Windows formatted ipods can be used and that I have to do a restore on my ipod to use it.
I thought you could use the ipod on multiple computers? I thought it didn't matter if it was set for Mac or PC because you could still use it on both.
Any help? I want to connect my ipod at work so I can get the music on this computer. Thanks!!

Windows computers cannot read the file format the iPods are in when they are formatted for Mac use. However, Macs can read the Fat32 file format that the iPods go in when they are formatted for Windows.
To use the iPod with both computers, you'll have to first restore the iPod on your Windows computer (putting the iPod into Windows format).
The only downside is if there is an iPod software update, you won't be able to install that to the iPod from the Mac, just from Windows computers.

  • How to format an external drive for mac AND pc use

i want to format my external drive so i can use it on my mac and on pc's as well. i've gathered that the MS-DOS format is the way to go. my question is this: would this create any problems for my mac then?
can i partion one part for ms-dos and part for macos extended?
    cheers
    -j-

MS-DOS format (or FAT32) will be fine for both Mac and PC. However there is a 4GB file size limit with FAT32.
You could use a dual partition, however the HFS+ partition would not be readable by the PC unless you installed the third party MacDrive.
Look at this page for more information on a dual partition drive for Mac and Windows.

  • I have an external drive - WD My Passport FOR MAC. I want to format it to work on both mac and windows. Which format do you think I should use? Will either one cause damage to the files on the hard drive?

I have an external hard drive - WD My Passport FOR MAC. I want to format it to work on both mac and windows. I also want to be able to connect it to my TV and watch movies.
I read up and I think I am supposed to use exFAT or FAT32? I also saw MS-DOS. Which format should I should use? Will any of them cause damage to the files on the hard drive?
My little memory stick uses MS-DOS and it works on both mac and windows.
Please can you just tell me a little about each and suggest which one to use.
I know how to change it once you tell me so don't waste your time writing about changing it.

Will any of them cause damage to the files on the hard drive?
WARNING: FORMATTING A DRIVE ERASES IT COMPLETELY !!
If you need to carry large files (e.g., larger than about 4GB) back and forth, you may need ExFAT. Otherwise MS-DOS works for smaller files.
The Mac can Read, but not write Windows New Technology File System (NTFS) without an add-on program such as Paragon NTFS.

  • Any hope for an update for Mac OS 10.6.5 compatibility - Resolved!

Just received the Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 / Premiere Elements 9 bundle and found out the hard way that Premiere Elements 9 is not compatible with my iMac OS 10.6.5. I mistakenly thought that it was. Now what to do? I'm hoping that there is a fix on the near horizon....anyone know?
    Thanks,
    Patti

Problem solved! Okay, I'm relieved but embarrassed...it was a user error. Premiere Elements 9 is compatible with Mac osx 10.6.5 and it was a big oversight on my part in the install process. There are 2 discs for Mac, 2 for Windows versions. The first one contains both PE9 and PEP9 programs, while the second disc contains extra content for Premiere. I had loaded the PE9 and then put the 2nd disc in, thinking I was installing PEP9 program. Because I hadn't finished installing from the first disc (it doesn't automatically take you back to the beginning to get the other program), the data needed for the 2nd disc was absent. So was my mind, apparently! I do think that if there were more detailed install instructions in the booklet, it would have been helpful. However, reading your responses spurred me to on to find the root of the issue...thanks for all your help. My little advice...try not to venture into unknown computer territory when overtired.
