Screwy IRQ's Help!!

Need help trying to install XP on a athlon , k7t turbo limited edition mother board , 1 stick 128 mb 133mhz , 40 gig ata100 "only can run a 66 cable cause Im poor" 32 mb radeon pci . I also dont know how many mhz I got, its running at 1.3 but the overclocking options dont look right either. I would take off the cooler and find out but i dont got any of that compound stuff.
Just trying to through a cheap system together and never thought id run into so many problems. When it boots up I look at the driver list and 3 or 4 devices are all on a same IRQ "just dont look right" It doesnt seem to be a problem but then when I try to install windows it gives me the IRQ_IS_REALLY_FUCKED up message. Now Ive tried Everything possible in BIOS and now im going through this forum reading about similar problems and I found one solution that is working now as im typing this. I had to disable the cpu's cache " This did not fix the irq problem but it did let me get by the blue screen with the irq problem on it. Besides that ive also tried putting my pci cards in differnt slots and Ive read the manual to the board maybe 10 times over and tried just about all the jumper settings only one that helped is when i messed around with the RAID. Now im wondering about a couple of things i hope you can answer.
1. cpu's temp was running in low 60's
? could it be the cooler
2. Couldnt install new bios cause my a: was not letting me copy files in dos to the ramdrive.
?If its that how do i fix it
3 once xp is done installing will it be ok if i enable cpu caching ???
4 and how can i figure out what kinda cpu i got without taking fan and cooler off.
Id apreciate any replies or messages ill be on icq and aim trying to fix this crap.

sorry about spelling to just noticed a little tired.

did you try resetting the bios to bios defaults? IRQ errors are usually due to driver or bad hardware. Try running the cpu/ram at 100mhz to see if that stabilizes the system.

I'm having a similar problem now with a Gigabyte 8i865GME-775 with an Intel 8550 onboard nic.
The interface is plumbed, up, running and properly configured as iprb0 once I added the appropriate line in /etc/driver_aliases which was irpd "pci8086,1051"
I did some snooping around in logs and I noticed that packets are going out but there are no packets coming in according to kstat iprd.
I tried apci_user_options = 0x2 as well as 0x4, 0x8 and 0. Didn't seem to make a difference. Is there something else besides just rebooting to do? I also tried the two set pcplusmp:apic_forceload = -1 and set pcplusmp:apic_use_apci = 0 separately without any luck.
I administer the machines I use to test and develop on so my administrative talents are obviously lacking and I'm in need of help with this.
There seems to be a shared resource conflict indicated by this line in dmesg
pcplusmp: [ID 637496 kern.info] pcplusmp: pci8086,1051 (iprb) instance 0 vector 0x14 ioapic0x2 intin 0x14 is bound to cpu 1
The first time I saw it I was pretty sure it was cpu0 with the same vector.
According to the POST messages, the IRQ assigned to the nic card is 10, which doesn't seem to conflict with any of the other pci devices listed at that time. Is there a way to resolve this conflict from within Solaris? Or at least a way to view the currently assigned IRQ addresses? What's the relationship between vectors and irq's?
I'm going to disable some of the devices that are not needed to see if that helps. But I didn't find any way to change the irq of the nic or the cpu in this Award Bios.
There are a lot of great cutting edge features in Solaris 10, but these types of problems seem to have been plaguing people since at least 2003 from what I've seen. The last time I even worried about IRQ's, Intell processors came in two flavors SX and DX, and 9600bps was really fast. This seems to be a problem with the way Solaris 10's PnP code and not with the drivers.
Is there anything else that can be done to get this resolved?

On another Sun Blog and a couple other sites I saw the pci1458,e000 part refered to Syskonnect and the skge driver. On other's that id series was also linked to nge, rtls, rge and gani. So I'm not even sure if I'm using the correct driver. Intel no longer seems to have Solaris drivers for the Pro/100 VE chips, the link to Syskonnect is old and broken and I'm not sure what their actual product is.

But if that's the case, why wasn't it detected during the installation?
I tried loading the nge, rtls, rge and even e1000g drivers just in case. devfsadm failed to attach them.
I went back to iprb. Made sure /etc/driver_aliases and /boot/solaris/devicedb/master reflected the correct pci8086,1051 location.
iprb0 gets plumbed but "no MII link detected" still shows up on boot.
I'm at a complete loss.

Z68A-G43 PCI IRQ settings

Hi,
Problem is with irq shaing among PCI slot with USB controler and/or SATA drive.
i tried every single seting in bios, enabled APIC, disable HT, disabled all I/O controler (parallel and serial), on board sound and lan. yet sill i have IRQ 5 for PCI slot no.1 and IDE
allthough this mobo has 3 PCI slots there is no BIOS settings for IRQ. damn

IRQ Sharing is a normal thing. Today's implementations of APIC and ACPI do not really allow manual IRQ Settings on the BIOS level. Everything is handled automatically. There is no way you can influence that in terms of settings on modern systems.

Have you tried the card in different PCI Slots. That sometimes leads to different IRQ sharing combinations that may suit your need better.

Display Color Problems

Hi,
I'm having a bit of a color display problem with my Mini. The display gives off this yellow color that affects everything on the screen. I have determined this is not a problem with my monitor, since I use the monitor with another computer and the other computer's display screen is fine.
I have tried going into System Prefs and trying to change the hardware options, but I can't get this yellow screen to go away! I think it has to do with my Mini, but I don't know if it's a hardware problem, or just settings thats are screwy.

I'm not sure it could really be considered a fault of design when the design was specifically intended to use integrated graphics in a small-footprint system for reasons of cost, product positioning and to create an entry-level system that could be viewed as an appliance in the same way the original Mac concept was intended.
There's been much talk about the inadequacies of this type of 'on-board' graphics system, but the truth is that other than for a relatively small group of potential users, it has so far proven to be more than adequate to the task. Indeed, the mini is clearly not intended to be used for those purposes for which the system as a whole, or any component part of it, is not adequate.
Where the approach fails is when a component is at fault causing an individual such as yourself the sort of problem you are experiencing. But given that it's rare, it's not a fault of design so much as a fault in the specific system concerned. A fault that should be rectified of course, but not met with a redesign of the system to accommodate changes at the cost of a sensible entry-level price point and maintaining a coherent product range that does not compete against itself.
Apple's typical response to a problem of this sort if it can be shown to be a problem with the mini itself would be to replace the logic board since that is what carries the graphics sub-system. However, if you find when testing the system with other displays that the yellow cast isn't present, it may simply be that your monitor is not fully compatible with the mini rather than that any specific fault exists. For that reason, I'd urge you to test other displays if that is possible.

Sblive and Delta-L

Hi guys!
I have a problem that i really need some help in.
I have this old Sblive OEm card that im trying to install on my Athlon Xp 2500+, MSi Delta-l mainboard and 2 cruicial 256 mb ram. My graphics card is a Geforce 2 (yeh yeh i know, im embarrased).
Anyways, so i put my card into a free PCI slot and the computer goes fine into WinXP. However, when detecting the drivers for the sblive card, the computer freezes. Ive tried disabling the soundcard on the mailboard, but without any help.
So.. Do you guys have any piece of advice for me?

i had tried to use the SBLive on my board but i kept getting crackling/stuttering phases. it wasnt a loose connection or debris or anything, and i updated the bios and drivers. it still had this problem so i removed the SBlive and went back to the onboard. the problem persisted with the onboard! oddly, when i removed the promise UltraATA card that came with the WD Hard drive, the sound is absolutely fine with the onboard, and now im considering putting the SBlive back on. i had wanted to settle this issue before buying the audigy2 platinum, and i hope going to IRQ 5 helps when i get home (i bet it will). you seem to be into online gaming, would you mind putting your two cents in here?

AT-MIO16-E interrupts on Dos 6.22

Trying to generate an interrupt on the AT-MIO16-E pnp card by using counter G0.
I'm able to program the base address and read port address for the card. I call a InitTimer function
to setup the G0 counter and associated interrupt control logical (Inttst.c). By running the code I can see that
an interrupt is being generated because the Interrupt_A_St bit goes high. However, my interrupt handler
is not being called.
PNP_util.c contains code to initialize the AT-MIO16-E board and IntTst.c is the demo program to
setup the timer and interrupt control logic. I trying to use IRQ5 in the demo code. I setup the pnp by
calling Setup_PNP_Board( 0x240, //board address
0x273, //read port address
5 ) ; //irq

Question 1) Why in the world would the TechNet version of MS-DOS be an UPGRADE version??? That makes absolutely no sense at all. Is a "non-upgrade" DOS 6.22 installer available?

Audigy 2 ZS with blue scr

First of all, I've done loads of searching through these forums. I found some similiar sitsuations but none of those solutions worked.
Now I bought Audigy 2 ZS card something like 5 months ago. Drivers installed just fine and everything seemed to be just fine for a while. But after a few days of using my computer started crashing with "IRQ_NOT_EQUAL" (or similiar) blue screen error. I thought that maybe it would be good time to format my computer and start from a clean setup. Anyway it didn't solve the problem at all.
I've done a bit researching, Googling etc and everything lead to that the problem was in my soundcard, my fresh Audigy 2 card. I've tried a lot of trick, which have worked for others: I've reinstalled the drivers, updated the drivers, switched the PCI slot, checked my voltage for CPU is ok, turned Hardware Accelaration off from DXdiag, swithing my onboard soundcard off, checked the IRQs ... Nothing seems to work. And I'm sure it's my soundcard causing the problem becouse with the onboard audio contoller my computer works just fine and stable.
Here's my com. specs:
Asus G5DC(Deluxe)
Intel Pentium 3.2GHz
(Kingston) 024Mb DDRAM
ATI Radeon AX600XT
(I suppose that's all the neccessary info?)

OK so here we are again...
Seems your graphics card is sharing IRQ with PCI-E ports you propably can't disable.
Here are my # suggestion:
Disable all unused onboard devices/controllers on BIOS (audio, floppy, serial port(s),IEEE 394, game/MIDI port, SATA (if not SATA hard disk in use) etc.).
IRQ 6: you can disable USB Uni'versal Host Controller
IRQ 7: move Audigy into another PCI Slot --> Slot or 2 --> Audigy gets it's own IRQ
IRQ 8: no necessary changes need to made, but if you do not use the FireWire port then you can disable the IEEE 394 controller. If you disable both then some other controller/device may take this IRQ --> may help the situation
IRQ 9: disable USB Uni'versal Host Controller --> Ultra ATA gets it's own IRQ
IRQ 23: it's up to you if to disable USB controler(s)
Move Audigy into PCI slot 2 (the middle one).
Boot once and see IRQ's if there are changes?
You can pre-try above mentioned disablings, so you may find the component causing your BSODs.
On device manager --> select the controller/device and mouse-right-click it --> disable or enable.

SBLive! and Optical quest

I just rebuilt my computer and to keep it simple i bought an MSI motherboard with SBLi've! as the onboard chip. I have a SB Audigy 2 platinum and am trying not to use it. I dont care about watching movies but I do care about my music. When i have my Audigy hooked up i could have my stereo surround hooked up and going as well as my computers 5. speakers. This made it basically a 0.2 (0 speakers and 2 subwoofers). I cannot find an option to have BOTH sets of speakers going at the same time with the SBLi've! chipset. And yes i do have the optical plugged into the right hole =P So if anyone can tell me if this is possible and how to do it that would be great!

Saved Mail Account missing

Hi there
So I've attempted to set up a Microsoft exchange account on my iPhone 4S.
I couldn't remember my username from the top of my head, so I saved the account and thought I'd update it after confirming the details.
Surprisingly, when I went back into mail, contacts, calendars, my new account wasn't on the list!
I figured it was not have actually saved it, so I tried to create it again. However when I tried to create it, I get an error message "a duplicate account already exists".
What the?? Why can't I retrieve the draft account then?
I turned my phone off and on again but that didn't help... It's totally screwy.
Please help!

Use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up. See Using Setup Assistant on Lion (it's a bit more complete).
Unless you choose to omit things, that will set your new Mac up exactly like the old one, except for a few preferences, etc., that may be different for the different hardware.
If your old Mac isn't running Lion, there will be some other differences, too. See Changes in Lion from Snow Leopard.

Internal Microphone not working on Arch (Dell Studio 1558)

Hello community,
I never managed to get the internal microphone of my Dell Studio 1558 to work with ArchLinux 64Bit. I know that the soundhip of Dell Notebooks is a bit tricky sometimes. I already tried several configurations in the alsamixer. Unfortunately there are not much possibilites. In this Screenshot you can see all mixers that are displayed in alsamixer. No matter what I do, the microphone will never work. Of course it would not work with pulseaudio, too.
I also tried several configurations in /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-dell
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dell
options snd-hda-intel model=dell
To make sure the mic is not borken and works on Linux I booted a 32Bit Xubuntu 11.04 Live system. The Microphone worked there and Alsamixer gave me many more mixers there.
I don't know what info to provide... At least here is cat /proc/asound/cards. I doubt it's helpful though.

Brand New mobo (P6NGM) with IRQ Conflicts, PLEASE help

I've posted multiple times in another well respected PC forum and have not resolved my issue yet. Would GREATLY appreciate assistance.
Here's my story and attempts:
I'm building a new PC for my parents:
mobo: MSI P6NGM
cpu: Pentium dual core e2200 (800fsb)
memory: 2g DDR2
video: Radeon 9600PRO 256MB PCI-E
I'm having problems in Device Manager.
the modem (Smart Link 5k Voice Modem) and something called the NVIDIA nForce System Management Controller both have a yellow-exclamation point on them and when I looked at their properties\device status says:

I have all of the current drivers and latest BIOS installed (and confirmed).
I believe it's telling me I have an IRQ conflict and when I looked at the Device Manager \ Resources by Type, it tells me that there are 3 devices on IRQ 7, 2 devices on IRQ10 (my PCI-E video card and the 56k modem), and 2 devices on IRQ11 (the NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management).
I did a google search and tried disabling the com ports 1 & 2 (but could only find & disable com port 1)
but this didn't improve the problem.
I also tried un-plugging 2 front USB-2 ports from the mobo.
no improvement there either.
meanwhile, IRQs 2, 3, 4, 9, 14, and 15 are empty. Is there any way to assign to these?
Please help. I just built a dual core AMD with another MSI mobo for my daughter last month and didn't have any issues with it.

Last night, I also tried disconnecting everything (3 USB ports connected to the mobo) and performing a fresh install of XP. I was extremely disappointed that this didn't work either.
I also tried unistalling all of the devices on IRQ10 and rebooting with IRQ10 Reserved (so all of the devices would be assigned to something else). Then I uninstalled the modem again and enabled IRQ10, hoping that everything would have been assigned elsewhere and only the modem would be assigned to IRQ10 this time.
NO LUCK!
I've NEVER had so much difficulty with IRQs, and only installed 2 devices: the PCI-E video and a PCI modem.

I was checking my irq settings and I have no Irq conflick problems I dont think all are listed status of OK.But I do have three things asigned to IRQ 11.
1.Video card
2.Network card
3.USB host controller
My question is how do I change it so my video card is byitself.Could this cause problems at high fsb or would it be a issue the would cause problems all the time. Any help would be useful.
I have MSI K7N2 Delta with bios v. 5.7 . I have disabled both serrial port and parrellel ports but it doesnt move the IRQ 11 asignment at all.I do see in bios where I can do manual irq setting but when you go into options for manual setting you just have enable or disable.How do I asign my agp video card to a irq all alone?

well i moved my pci either card up one slot and it did move my video card to irq 10 it shares IRQ 10 with nvidia pci system management.Should I just try other pci slots til it ends up with my video by itself.
as to the other question I did a fresh install with apic disabled. I have had trouble with the apic funtions on my abit kd7 motherboard and in abit fourms it was recommended to do a fresh install with apic disabled. When I changed to the nvidia chip set I just did a fresh install with it disabled again.Not really hip on reformating hard drive when the are no troubles.I just want to move my video card to its own irq.I know little about apic just cause issues on the abit in past.

One thing I am curious about, would a irq conflick cause problems at any fsb/clock setting or would raising the fsb make it worse.I have had a irq not less or equal crash error when I was tring for 430 fsb.That is why i looked into my irq settings but like I stated I have no irq problems even when I had the 3 things asigned to the irq 11.When running at lower fsb settings.I usally run 380 fsb with 5-2-2-2 ram timings.No conflicts at all.

Firefox doesn't display Amazon.ca website properly. Text is missing and some navigation button texts are screwy. Older version of FF worked well but each time I upgrade the same thing happens. Help!

With each new version of Firefox, I run into the same issue with Amazon.ca (amazon.com works fine). For instance, on Amazon.COM the links for my account and help are stated as "Your Account | Help". On amazon.CA the links for my account and help are stated as "your-account_279 | topnav-help_1057".
When I log into my account on Amazon.COM I have a web page with text and buttons and links. all functioning. When I log into my account on Amazon.CA I get nothing except two orange buttons - "Your Orders" and "sell my stuff". everything else is blank.
This has happened with each upgrade of Firefox. It seems that Amazon.CA finally gets their coding right and FF comes out with a new version which then screws the website up. are you making your upgrades available to Amazon.CA?

* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
