Script for adding a login item for all accounts in the system

Thanks for reading this query. I am new to the mac environment. I have developed a java application and created an installer of this application for MAC system.I want to run this application on starting the system. So I have written an apple script for adding this application in login items and this script will run immediately after completing installation process. And the entire process is fine. But the problem is, the application is added to login items of only the user who installed the application. But I want to get available the application in the login list of all accounts created in the system. How can I achieve this? Once more thanks in advance. I am attaching my script below:

Also, on System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items, select all items related to Office and press - button to delete them

Is there a way to tell the exact date when an app was added to login items? (eg. through terminal or console?).

No. Login items are created when you add an app through
 > System Prefs > Users & Groups | Login Items
and is a list specifically used for running and app on login to a particular users account (not boot in general). At least AFAIK, this has nothing to do with installing the app to the system.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

I'm also having this problem. I'm using Flash Builder 4.6, AIR 3.4 and I've made a DLL (e.g. ExtensionDll.dll) which needs to call functions in another DLL (e.g. DllUsedByExtensionDll.dll) . I've made sure my ANE is working with the ExtensionDll.dll already, so there are no issues with my actionscript code or my ANE packaging or my DLL compilation. However, once I start calling functions from the other DLL, it starts throwing me Error #3500. Even if I call this function (e.g. abc()) in ExtensionDll.dll, but I never actually use the function from actionscript, and I call another function (e.g. def()) from actionscript, the Error #3500 still appears, so it does not seem to depened on the whether the code is used or not.

Login item on managed account

Hi all -
On our iMac running leopard, we'd like the ability to keep a program (VOIP phone program) running all the time regardless of which user is logged in. I figured out how to add the item to the Login Items for the Admin account (me), but there is no option to do the same for our daughter's login (a managed account). I tried accessing it through Parental Controls and even changin her account to Standard, but no luck.
I've scoured the forum and the web to no avail...any solutions out there?

what do you mean? you add programs to login items in the same way on all accounts, including parental controlled accounts. log into that account and start system preferences. go to accounts->login items and add whatever you need to add there.

Remove login item from my accounts

I had Mac Protector installed on my computer without my knowledge. I have gotten rid of it from my applications, but I can't figure out how to get it off my login items on my accounts. Please help!

Go to system preferences > accounts > login items > unlock the padlock > uncheck Mac Protector then click it and press the minus button.

I can see one way to do it. You'll need to install a script in each user account, and have it set as a login item for each user. Let's imagine you have three user accounts. Each user in Mac OS X has a UID number. Normally your first user has the UID of 501, the second one will be 502 and so on...
You can determine the UID by running the following AppleScript while logged in on each user:
do shell script ("ID")
This'll return a long block of text, but right at the start you'll see the UID number. Let's assume your three users have the UIDs 501, 502 and 503. We begin with 501.
Create the following script and save it as an application while logged in as 501. Note that the password you're entering is the password for UID 502. Also note that the forum system is creating line breaks where there shouldn't be any. The long "do shell script" line should be one line.
delay 5 --This delay allows time for login to complete, but it may not be necessary.

Open System Preferences, go to Accounts, click "login items" and drag your script (saved as an application) to the login items window.
You basically repeat this process for each user account, modifying the script so it switches to the next user.
This isn't ideal, because your passwords will be stored in the scripts, and each user could open the scripts and learn the passwords of the other users on that machine.

If I update to ML do all accounts on the mac get the update

I have multiple accounts on a Pro with RD. I'm also eligible for the free update to ML. I'm just wondering if the update is applied to all accounts on the device.
I've never updated my MacBook and the whole updating a mac, windows, iPhones etc but never a mac. I'm assuming it does update all profiles despite being purchased through one apple ID, hope I'm righ?!?!?!

FYI: you should have simply updated the AppleID with new info and continued to use it instead of creating a new one.

Deleted all accounts in the Sharing pane (sys preference)

Deleted all accounts in the Sharing (System preference) once I did that I was still logged but couldnt open apps...close apps...even log out. I had to do a hard reboot and now the computer will not boot up. I get to the black and white screen but it never proceeds from there. I inserted the Leopard DVD but it doesn't boot up. I have no idea what I've done or how to resolve this. HELP!

You destroyed your machine's ability to boot up, since there are no user accounts. Shut down the machine with the install disk inserted, restart holding down the OPTION key, select the install disk icon, and click on the arrow underneath it. That should allow you to boot with the install disk. Whether or not you can do anything to fix the problem, I can't say. If you do an Archive & Install, there's no user data to save. If you do an Erase & Install, you have to wipe (erase) the hosed OS. Unless you have a bootable backup/clone of a good OS, you just might be out of luck.

Hi,
use the following steps to find a BAPI for any transaction
1.Open transaction SE24.
2.Now open the object CL_EXITHANDLER in display mode.
3.Go to the method tab and double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
4.Put a break point on cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface.
5.Now execute the transaction you want to find BAPI for, it will take you to the above method.
6.Write EXIT_HANDLER in fieldnames and hit enter, it will tell you the BAPI used for your transaction.
7.Hit F8 and it will tell you all the BAPIu2019s for your transaction.

Unable to access Login Items for Accounts in System Preferences

I've created an image for computers at my school. When I go into System Preferences>Accounts, and authenticate, I am unable to access the Login Items tab. The tab isn't grayed out or anything. It's just that when I click on it, nothing happens. It stays on the Password tab. The only way I can get out of it is to quit System Preferences. Any ideas?

If you are connecting to a OS X Server, make sure that you're not managing Login Items (Click on Preferences in WorkGroup Manager, then Login, then the Items tab). I had the same problem and setting that preference to Never solved it for me.
