hi expects,
i want to create a new window in exist form i.e for "P.O" and i want print the company logo in backside. please help me.

You can only do by coping the script to a Zscript.

Safari 3 cannot run scripts in new window

The problem that I am encountering is that Safari cannot seem to run scripts in a new window. Whenever I click on a link, nothing happens. This occurs on sites like http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/share.html?videoid=0824hd_ccben209 (when I am trying to view the videos) and http://music.aol.com/radioguide/ (Trying to play the stations).
I'm not sure if it's a JavaScript issue or something. I have enabled Java, JavaScript and plug-ins in the preferences pane. I also tried disabling the pop-up blocker but that didn't seem to work. It usually works fine in Firefox (though the nbcolympics site insisted that I didn't meet the browser requirements, when I clearly did.) Sorry I can't provide you guys with much info, I don't know much about web stuff.

Script: Open all linked docs in *new* window

Can anybody help? I have a pdf document that will need to have 2000+ links to other documents...and I need to have each link open in a *new* window (by default, they open in the exisitng window). We obviously don't want to have to individually set each link's Properties to "open in new window"...
Is there a script I can add to the main (parent) pdf doc to make this happen for all links the user clicks on from the main doc? The kicker is that we can't expect the end user to be able to fool with the Preferences or anything like that...in addition, we assume the user may be viewing in either Acrobat or Acrobat Reader in the corporate environment.
Alternately, a script to automatically show the "previous view" and "next view" arrows, without having the user have to do anything, might work. The absence of those arrows in the default view (starting w Acro 8?) is why we've had to go with the "open in new window" idea. We are dealing with non-tech-savvy users, so we don't want them to have to know keyboard shortcuts or set Preferences...

Absolutely, thanks! I will try to create a variable to store -- and later, restore -- that. Since we have about a zillion links, changing each link would be no fun at all! Is there an issue with trying to evaluate the setting and store the variable from a "on page 1 open" action, and being able to access the variable's value from the "DocumentWillClose" action? (and apologies for any capitalization, etc., issues)
Do I somehow need to declare the variable to be global, or do I need to have the initial actions happen from an "on document open" event? (I don't see such an event as being an available option)...
Any code snippet(s) far a similar situation that you could point me towards...?

Firefow auto updated "5 beta", lost all previous tabs, "unresponsive script" opens w/each new window...Can you help?

firefox auto updated to "5.0", then when opening firefox, got "unresponsive script"(which had to be closed to start firefox, and then the same opening w/each new window...(In doing this I then lost all previous tabs).
Can you help?

Thanks so much for the reply. Amy way you could elaborate on the "known issue" aspect? Is there another thread I missed? Some sort of Knowledge base article? also, I'm not sure why you linked to the page you did. FF is installed on all my machines and I can of course download the latest version every couple of weeks and push it to all my lab iMacs using ARD, so I'm confused as to why you linnked me to FF's installer page - is there something I can do with the installer that will alow auto-updates that I'm missing/not aware of?
Again, thanks for the heads-up and any further elaboration on either further info on the issue or how I might use the installer to auto-update all my machines will be appreciated.

Can I raise one dought related to my requirement? In script PO headings is now displaying in main window and related items displayed in B2 window, but user wants to display it in B2 window with creation of new window. So I need to create one new window in the existing window B2, is it possible? If yes please furnish details. Any changes will require in print program? Expecting the suggestions ASAP. use the following code and make it a meaningful code as per ur requirement:
if u want to create a new window on different page, then use the
/: NEW-PAGE pageno
/: NEW-WINDOW newwindowname
Here use the code for heading etc.
I think no changes to the print program is required.

To create a new window in scripts.
1. After opening the form in SE71   Click on Windows push button.
    it will gives a screen list of windows in a page
2. Click on Edit option in menu bar in Edit-->Create Element click it will gives a popup window in the window give Name of the window and short description press enter like that you can create windows in a page
3. Click on Page windows it will gives a screen where that window you want to place in that page.    Click on Edit option on menu bar Edit-->Create Element
it will gives a list of windows which your created in a page   here you have to select which window you want to place. Double click on that window it will adds on the page and give the bottom of the screen you can find standard attributes block
there you have to give the position of the window in a page.
or
Click on setting option on menu bar settings-->form painter
it will gives a GUI editor here you can drag the window position it is easy to use.
then you can see the layout.

How can I change this script so it doesn't load into a new window?

I have this script on an invisible button on a banner ad, but the client doesn't want the linked page to open in a new window, but rather load over the page in same window. How can I change the script to accomplish this, thanks!

When Firefox tries to open another window, I get a failed script message: Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595 and I get asked to continue or stop it. When I stop it, the new window opens. How do I fix this?

That is a problem with an AVG extension or toolbar.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Aurora/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

i need some method like sendredirect or forward . where i can make some codes so as to open a new window.
actually i am calling a jsp from one jsp file where a lot of dynamic parameters are sent. and in the second jsp i call a servlet which works to download a file to the client side. i want the file should open in new window not in the browser from where it is initiated.
else can any one say the mime type where i can open file(a xls file) in xls window and not in browser which is not needed as user needs to press the back button(present in browser)

Open iView in new WINDOW for CATW

HI All,
We are on Netweaver2004s and the browser used is either Internet Explorer 7 (Microsoft Vista) or Mozilla Firefox.
Now what I need help on is that I have a link on my page that says "Report Your Time", this link calls the Internet Service CATW via the ITS from my R/3 and opens the TIMESHEET (which is an iView) to be filled in by the user in a new window.
On this TIMESHEET I have a link called as "EXIT" , now after the timesheet is filled and saved, the user should use this "EXIT" link to leave the window. The code behind "EXIT" is so written by SAP that it kills the user's session. But not always and all user's use this "EXIT" link, they generally close the window by browser's (X) close button. This causes the user to get locked in the backend.
So far I have been able to trap the browser's (X) close button and kill the session by using "setOKCode('/nex')". This works fine in I.E 6 (which has no tabs) and if the user closes Mozilla Firefox from the top (X) close button of the browser.
BUT, in I.E 7 and mozilla firefox, when the user clicks on "Report Your Time" link on my page, a new tab opens and the TIMESHEET is displayed on this tab within the same browser window, so after filling and saving the timesheet when the user closes the (TIMESHEET) tab, the session does not get killed and the user gets locked in the backend. Here, if the user had closed the entire browser window by using the the top (X) close button of the browser, instead of just closing the tab containing the TIMESHEET, then his session would have been killed by my code.
This is the code that identifies if the user has clicked on top (X) close button of the browser. But this code does not identify if a browser's tab is closed.

In the above I check clientY property of the event object, which is used to set or retrieve the y-coordinate of the mouse pointer's position relative to the client area of the window, excluding window decorations and scroll bars.
Is there a way to capture the closing of a browser's tab. A way by which I can trap the event raised when the browser window's tab is closed.
This has to be done via "Java Script" since the code will be placed in the HTML template in SE80.

Hi Aviad,
You could set "fullscreen=yes" (without quotes) for the property called "Window Features" (technical name: "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.WinFeatures") on the navigation element in question (iView or, if existent, surrounding page). Take care, this opens the window without frame and toolbar (closable by ALT-F4).
To get a 100% screen (with toolbar, frame etc), you have to calculate the clients resolution before, using JS for example. So you would need to build a workaround, for example an iView with no output but opening a new window with a certain NavURL as target.

DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.

First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

How to open new window and generate oracle report from apex

Hi,
I had created an application that generates PDF files using Oracle Reports, following this Guide.

And I followed 'Advanced Technique', so that users can't generate PDF file by changing URL and parameters. This is done for security reasons.
But in this tutorial, when 'Go' button is pressed, the PDF file is displayed on the same window of apex application. If so, user might close the window by mistake. In order to avoid this, another window have to be opened.
So, I put this code in the BRANCH - URL Target. (Note that this is not in Optional URL Redirect in the button property, but the branch which is called by the button.)

But if the button is pressed, I get this error.
ERR-1777: Page 2100 provided no page to branch to. Please report this error to your application administrator.
Restart Application
If I put the code 'javascritpt ....' in the Optional URL Redirect, another window opens successfully, but the Process to generate report job is not executed.
Does anyone know how to open new window from the Branch in this case?

Try putting your javascript into your plsql process using the htp.p(); procedure.
For example, something along these lines should do it:
BEGIN
-- Your other process code goes here...
htp.p('<script type="javascript/text">');
htp.p('popupURL("&REPORTS_URL.quotation&P2100_REP_JOB_ID.")');
htp.p('</script>');
END;
What happens is the javascript is browser based whereas your plsql process is server based and so if you put the javascript into your button item Optional URL Redirect it is executed prior to getting to the page plsql process and therefore it will never execute the process. When you have it in your branch which normally follows the processes, control has been handed to the server and the javascript cannot be executed and so your page throws the error "Page 2100 provided no page to branch to"... By "seeding" the plsql process with the embedded javascript in the htp.p() procedure you can achieve the desired result. You could also have it as a separate process also as long as it is sequenced correctly to follow your other process.

How to open new window in UIX page

I'm using UIX for view layer. I have text input in the UIX form. When I click on a button, I want to open a new window with the URL built using the value from the input. I want to do it using javascript. Is it possible with UIX?

Like providing handlers to HTML elements, you can attach event handlers to UIX components too. You can attach event handlers on onClick, onMouseOver,... on UIX components just as you would do in HTML.
