Including a test script for other scripts in OpenScript

Hi all,
I am a newbie in OpenScript. I had created a "myfunctions" test script which have all the common functions for my scripts. I found out that, for the script to be called, we need to add it to the script assets. This will not be feasible in my case because there are many scripts that calls these functions and I cant add them to all. Is there any other method to include it (eg. Making it in a jar file and using import? or something of that sort?). Couldnot get any help from the net or the documentation. Please let me know a way to handle this.

Looks like the relative path information is not being properly resolved during Replay. Is the application URL being properly loaded in the Replay view? By "properly" I mean does it have the entire URL of the application with the protocol, server & port number?

Custom user/root scripts for hibernate-scripts

i am using hibernate-scripts and installed it by using arch guide.
i am trying execute some scripts on resume and suspend. but folloing method doesnot seems to work,
In common.conf i put
OnSuspend 00 bash /etc/hibernate/suspend.sh
OnResume 00 bash /etc/hibernate/resume.sh
both *.sh are chmod'd as +x. both file have touch /tmp/$1 in the end.
there would no /tmp/*.sh.
so i am stuck here.

Is there an updatedcrossrefs script for InDesign CS6

Running Mac Pro/2.66 GHz—Quad-Core Intel Xeon/Snow Leopard/
OS/Mac OS X Version 10.6.2/2.66 GHz
I converted a CS3 InDesign that uses the script "updatedcrossrefs.js", to CS6 InDesign. This file uses hyperlinks on the TOC and Index.
I tried using the same script for CS3 InDesign in CS6 InDesign but it does not work.
This is the error message "Could not catch page. Check destination names and existence."
Is there an updated script for CS6?

Sorry did not know I was using bold. My co-worker found this script however, she does not work here anymore. But here is the script. I know nothing about scripts except how to use them. Sorry.

Upgraded to VS 2013 - cannot edit script in SSIS script component

I'm running SQL Server 2014 and just recently upgraded to Visual Studio 2013 from 2012. I was attempting to develop an SSIS solution today - the first time since the upgrade - and was blocked because I wasn't able to edit the script for a script component
in an SSIS package.
I can add the object to a data flow but clicking on the "Edit Script..." button yields no response whatsoever. No error, no scripting environment.
I'm running VS2013 Ultimate with SSDT 2013, and SS 2014 Enterprise.
My hunch is that there are components missing somewhere but I don't know enough about this platform to piece together how things are related. I have nearly every option installed for VS2013 except for Windows Phone and app store development.
I didn't have an issue previously and I'm unsure how to debug this - especially since I'm not a real SDE.

Maybe that you were unaware that you post this issue in Visual Studio Setup and Installation forum. This forum is to discuss and ask questions about the install and setup of Visual Studio. Obviously, this case is out of the scope of this forum.
I'm unsure which forum is better for this case. Is Visual Studio General forum? Or SQL Server Integration Services forum? But I'd like to find a suitable forum along with you.

I see that you upgrade to Visual Studio 2013 from 2012. And you didn't have an issue previously. Do you mean that you can create SSIS project and edit the script for a script component before you upgrade VS?

This error is caused by the registration for oleaut32.dll was corrupted, there maybe other dll that also named oleaut32.dll, so visual studio could not
find the right oleaut32.dll.
So please download the OleAutClean.msi in this link and run it, to clean all the registration of oleaut32.dll.

Then register the oleaut32.dll again.

Right click the Commandline to run the commandline as administrator.

I created a script for Illustrator CS6, in ExtendScript Toolkit, that will create multiple, prenamed layers...see below...

Marijan Tompa's scripts are very nice and useful, however, for this simple task you can try create your own wiht this code:

assume, your document has one layer.
Script creates three new layers, they appear in Scripts palette in this order:
LEGAL
STRIPES
GRADIENT
and merges 'old' layer to bottom layer of newly created set (GRADIENT).
sure, you can add as much layers as you need, just don't forget modify LayerA and LayerB numbers accordingly.
Or disable second part of the script at all, if you don't want anything to be merged.

Scripting for Form Guides in ES2?

Hi,
I started developing guides in ES2 and able to genarate the some examples successfully.
I am able to pre populate the data into Forms.
But I paused writing the script for form guides. Please let me know good material for scripting the form guides in ES2.
And more thing is how to draw static Table (normal table) on the form guides ?

Changes to using graphic settings in Bridge CS6 scripts

The "CS6 Tools Guide" document shows no changes in how graphical settings should be used for Foreground Colour, Background Colour, Fonts and Font Size, as well as the use of Images in panels. All these work as before with scripts used in Photoshop CS6. But with Bridge CS6 the use of an image will crash Bridge, whereas the settings for Colours and Fonts are just ignored. Does Bridge CS6 now have customised settings for graphical changes to panels? Or is this a bug?

I'd much rather have 32 bits that do what they ought to… sounds like CS6 has 48 that don't…

An error occurred while applying SQL script for the feature BackendStore.

Hello,
I am using my AD in Windows Azure VMs. I created new VM of A3 (4 cores, 7 GB Memory) Windows Server 2012 R2, Port 1433 MSSQL added, made it a member of Domain and planned to install first Lync Server 2013 on it.
In "Setup or Remove Lync Server Components" of "Install or Update Lync Server System", got an Red Coloured text "An error
occurred while applying SQL script for the feature BackendStore."
I have not enabled monitoring and archiving server in topology builder. I added "Network Service" and assign "Full Control" in Security Permissions of "C:\CsData" and "C:\LyncShare".
I executed the SQL Setup Wizard and upgraded any instance to 2012.
Please guide.

Please check you have enough disk space for the disk where the folders are.
Check view log for detailed log information.

Looking for a script to automate renaming layer objects, not the layer itself!

Hey there everyone,
I was wondering if there is a possibility to create/have a script for an automated renaming of several named layer objects in Indesign (CS6).
The situation, I'm facing is a document for a templating process with at least 80 layers and sometimes some special elements on each layer. The naming of the layers is kind of repeating for each page that is used. The only difference is some prefix change in the layer name and/or the name of an element itself. My problem is, that I need to rename most of those layers AND elements in a same way and I'm looking for a script that asks me for the name of a layer or element (perfect would be just a part of the name to have multiple steps at once) and I have the chance to type in the desired value. It affects frames, graphical elements and text boxes.
If anyone has an idea, how to simplify this process I would be very glad to get some informations or advices.

Shell script for DB backup

HI,
i have written some java code Database backup but there are some problems with that so now i need to write shell script for db backup.
what i was doing in java code i was running command like that
/usr/local/bin/tar cvzf /export/home/monitor/FILE_20091005.tar.gz FILES/*20091005.*which compress the all *20091005* files (myisam table files)
but after compression file doesn't extract
so i have to write shell script for that ..... can any body guide me how can i write that kind of script and put it in cron job.

I woudn't suggest you to work with EM if you want to be a professional DBA. Start learning RMAN and use CLI instead of GUI

Shell script for DB

Hi,
I have written shell script for below scenarios, can you please guide me to write this as correct way, requirment is,
1. i need to connect the database which is on unix server , but before connecting the DB some of the files needs to be removed from \tmp directory.
2. once removed the script need to connect the database and call the sql file which is in \tmp directory.
3. the output files will be stored in \tmp directory start with DB name.
4. finally csv files needs to be transferred to local windows with help of FTP. please find below the script

It's always a good idea to write entries to timestamped log file without which you will never know where the script went wrong or failed.

Hi
I'm quite new to scripts & looking for a script to move selected files with time-stamp & also a script to delete selected file/s in a directory. Below is an example of my requirement
