Scrollbars on the left?

I somehow doubt this is possible, but does anyone know of a way to move the scrollbars in applications to the left side of windows, instead of the right?
Thanks!

I've never seen them on the left-side nor on the top. You might try a google search for "OS X moving scrollbars" and see what pops up.

  • Put the TLF vertical scrollbar on the left side in flash CS4

    Hi, all
    I’m using Arabic words on TLF so I want to put the vertical scrollbar on the left side. But I don’t know how to do it. Could anybody give me an example?
    Thanks.

    Hi azeem
    I have been learning how to deal with arabic fonts now in flash10 and from what i have read up so far adobe has stopped updating the TLF component and it is been said it will only reappear with flash11 again. So if there is a bug with 64 bit os , then it is stuck like that for now. Another point to mention while using the forums and from personal testing is that the adobe arabic font will not handle diacritics correctly. You should try use Arial version 4 (the arial that ships with vista , the arial that shipped with xp is also faulty).

  • Vertical scrollbar to the left

    Hi All,
    i am thinking a way to move the vertical scrollbar to the left. Do you know how to do this customization?
    I found i good sample here: http://yourpalmark.com/2008/06/18/reposition-scrollbars-in-flex-components/
    But it doesn't solve my problem completely. Because. according to the sample, we override  updateDisplayList
    protected override function updateDisplayList( unscaledWidth:Number, unscaledHeight:Number ):void
    super.updateDisplayList( unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight );
    if( verticalScrollBar && verticalScrollBar.visible )
    //verticalScrollBar.x = -verticalScrollBar.width;
    verticalScrollBar.x = 0;
    textField.x=verticalScrollBar.width;
    This will result a small white vertical box on the right of our container. It is the postion where the scrollbar previously lies on.
    So If you put a picture there, it will be cut off.
    Do you have a way to display the picture correctly?
    Thank you for your response,
    -Hoang Long

    Hi,
    I have the same problem. Did you find any solution to remove the white patch?

  • Would like to try putting scrollbars to the LEFT!

    I'm experimenting with some ergonomics and would like to change my vertical scrollbars within windows over to the left side rather than the right. Does anyone have an idea how to do this in the simplest way possible? Have done various searches but the GTK details are pretty overwhelming and I can't see the wood for the trees, I'm afraid.
    I'm using Openbox with a modified Crux type GTK2 theme.
    PS: Managed to get the close/minimise/etc buttons in the Openbox window titles moved to the left by specifiying 'CMSILN' in rc.xml.

    Is that the same Moscow Biker that used to be in an apartment block with an strange shared internet connection ?
    I seem to remember someone I suggested to that they contact James at that time.

  • Are there any plugins for Photoshop CC 2014 which would make it possible to switch scrollbars to the left side of menus?

    I'm left handed and work on a Cintiq. Whenever I need to choose a brush or scroll up or down layers, or use anything with a scrollbar really, my hand (the one holding the stylus) is blocking the view. This is not a problem that right handed users encounter because everything is conceived specifically for them but I'm quite sure a lot of left handed users working on pen displays are as frustrated by this oversight as I am. It would be really nice if anyone, especially Adobe, could come up with a solution for this issue. Maybe there's already something out there that I'm unaware of?

    A Cloud subscription allows you to use either or both platforms.  Since you are allowed to have two working installations you could have one of each with the Cloud.

    my scrollbar has unexpected moved to the left side of the screen in stead of the right side, and I don't know how to move it back. This only occurs in Firefox.

    Set the pref layout.scrollbar.side to ''2'' to place the scroll bar at the right side.

  • How do I disable the scroll to top button that pops up on the right side of a webpage to the left of the scrollbar when lookin at long webpages (such as ebay) ?

    Button appears in the right lower corner to the left of the scrollbar when scrolling down long-ish webpages. I find it tremendously annoying as it covers the information underneath and when I hit it accidentally it obviously makes the whole webpage jump back to the top. Any idea how I can get rid of it ? Thanks heaps for your help !

    ok, glad that the issue could be cleared up this way...
    you could use adblock plus to hide those elements on ebay though. therefore you'd have to go into the adblock filter settings & add the following filters to your custom element hiding rules:
    ebay.com#a(id=gh-bt)
    ebay.com#b(class=bk2top)

  • When you scroll to the bottom of the list of files in Finder, the left to right scrollbar doesn't let you click the last file and it covers the file for a while until it disappears. Is this a bug? How do I not make that happen?

    An odd workaround: click "Always" in System Preferences/General/Show scroll bars. The scroll bars will always show, but they won't cover your last file.

  • What is it with the scrollbar having a left border that gats in the way

    why does the scrollbar have a border down the left edge. this is irritating as it does not all two css columns to have the same width when they are separated by a small spacer area around 8px. is there a way to have the scrollbar, border included, to have width of 16 pixels wide? the page, when the scrollbar shows up is one pixel over width and is behind the scrollbar

    Is that with scroll bars in an element like a DIV on the web page of the scroll bars of the Firefox window?

  • I would like to know it it's possible to change the scroll bar from the right part of the firefox browser, to the left part and, if it's possible, how can it be done. Thank you!

    The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.scrollbar.side
    Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    filter for '''layout.scrollbar.side'''
    Right-click the Preference and Modify it to '''3'''
    You may need to reload any pages open to have scrollbar move to left after Preference change.

  • JScrollPane: Can the Vertical Scroll Bar go on the left?

    Hope you can help,
    Im using a JScrollPane within another one, i.e, I have a component inside a JScrollPane, and one of its components is a JScrollPane. This is fine and dandy, but the internal scrolled component gets pretty tall and wide, so people end up using the OUTER horizontal scroll bar to scroll to the INNER vertical scrollbar to scroll DOWN the inner component.
    What would be really nice would be to have the INNER scrolled component to have its scroll bar on the LEFT to save the above hassle.
    Is this possible with JScrolledPane?

    In JScrollPane (jdk1.3)
    public void setComponentOrientation(ComponentOrientation co)
    Sets the orientation for the vertical and horizontal scrollbars as determined by the ComponentOrientation argument.
    Parameters:
    co - one of the following values:
    java.awt.ComponentOrientation.LEFT_TO_RIGHT
    java.awt.ComponentOrientation.RIGHT_TO_LEFT
    java.awt.ComponentOrientation.UNKNOWN

  • My scroll bar is now on the left. how do I move it back to the right side?

    ''Scrollbars in the user interface may appear on the left or right side of the content, depending on whether the language viewed is read right-to-left or left-to-right. However, a user may want to keep the scrollbar on one side irrespective of the content’s language, or even the host OS’s language. This preference is an attempt to make the scrollbar position as customizable to the end user as possible.''

  • Finder window resets position to the left when dragging in a file.

    I currently have the items in my folders displayed as 'columns'. When I open a new folder, the folders contents are displayed in the next column to the right. So after going a few folders in, the scroll bar on the bottom of the finder window is somewhat large. This is normal.
    However the problem is, _*whenever I drag a document from my desktop into the most recently opened folder, finder resets the scrollbar to the position on the left side,*_ forcing me to drag the window over again every time. This it a rather large annoyance, since the way I work I pull and replace lots of files from the same series of folders.
    Can anyone help me solving this problem?
