SD reader on macbook pro retina stopped working after mountain lion upgrade
I tried to use the SD reader on my new MacBook Pro Retina tonight and I can insert the SD card and the mac does not see it. It worked prior to my upgrading to mountain lion. Any ideas?
I also have a Mac Pro Retina and have the exact same problem after upgrading. I will say that despite the SD card not showing up on my desktop or in the finder window, I am able to import to Lightroom 4 with no problems and I get an error message when i withdraw it, asking me to "EJECT IT PROPERLY". APPLE! Please help us.

John
<Edited By Host>Regardless of whether you think you need it, uninstall it and test to see if the slowness problem is solved.
If it isn't put it back if you must, but there's no point trying to look for another cause till you've eliminated this one. You have a huge amount swaps which is what is causing your slowdown. 90% chance that's your AV software doing that. -
Macbook Pro won't boot after Mountain lion upgrade
I bought the Mountian Lion upgrade and it installed fine on my MacBook Pro, and the machine worked fine yesterday. I performed a normal shutdown, and today it won't boot up. The Apple logo and the spinning pinwheel is all I get. Is there a known issue?

Applescript stopped working after Mountain Lion upgrade
Hi after upgrading to Mountain Lion (ML) the applescript that I use to reply to certain emails has stoped working on incoming emails. I have the script in the "new" correct folder. The funny thing is that the script works when you "apply rules" from the messages dropdown menu.
This is the script:

repeat with eachMessage in theMessages

set emailFrom to extract address from sender of eachMessage

We have some pkg's that used to install fine across Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion.
Those pkg's were made from PackageMaker that came with Xcode4.2.
Since last week's Mountain Lion 10.8.1 upgrade, the pkg's preflight/postflight scripts stopped working
on Mountain Lion machines, but still work with Lion and Snow Leopard.
The current workaround we use is to produce the pkg using PackageMaker that comes from Xcode4.4 auxiliary tools.
These pkg's work fine on all mentioned OS X.
I think this should be either a bug in 10.8.1 upgrade or a change of policy.
Can someone reproduce and clarify?
Thanks!You are not alone!!
Same problem with Plantronics.
I just bought their Audio 648 Stereo USB Headset and have exactly the same issue you mention at the outset:
Essentially, while my [Plantronics Audio 648] Headset is recognized in the list of devices in System Preferences > Sound, it doesn't do anything in terms of outputting or inputting audio
So Apple, what are you going to do?...
A lot of third party accessory manufacturers must be getting quite frustrated at the numer of complaints they get from Mac users, when it seems its the Mac OS which is to blame... -
iTunes match hasn't worked since Mountain Lion install. Cloud icon keeps striking~ off. Won't upload new tracks to iTunes match. Just the eternal circle of step one, two, freeze....then tries again but never gets completed. Worked fine before Mountain Lion. Apple tech tried over phone for an hour but it didn't solve this issue. See others are in the same boat. Any help with this, please??
Same issue here with a MacBook pro recently upgraded to Mountain Lion. I hadn't tried iTunes Match prior to the upgrade so can't say whether or not it worked previously.
Getting quite frustrated! -
Macbook Pro battery stopped working after water spill.
Hello,
I own a Macbook Pro 13 inch mid 2010 that suffered water damage, after that it stopped functioning so I unplugged and plugged again the battery, the computer than turned on and now it's working well. The only issue I'm having is that now it only works when connected to a power source, there is a message telling that my battery has to be replaced (Condition: Replace now). My question is: If I replace the battery would the problem be solved or it may be a problem in my logic board due to the liquid spill? Can anyone help me?

If you let it dry out, it MAY start working again, but if it does, this will inevitably be temporary as corosion sets in and does futher (and almost certainly terminal) damage.
The only benefit of letting it dry is that IF it works again, you will be able to save what is on the HDD. Only important if you don't have a backup.......you DO have a backup don't you???
Irrelevant whether you have AppleCare or not - water damage isn't covered. And the cost of repairs is likely to exceed the value of your MBP. It is worth taking it in for a free evaluation of the cost of a repair.
Your best option may be to sell it for spares and invest in a new computer - which will be kept a long way from any drinks or other sources of liquid damage! -
Macbook Pro won't start after Mountain Lion download.
Downloaded Mountain Lion for my 2007-08 Macbook Pro. Internet was painfully slow (60kb/sec, usually 15 mgb/sec). After not using it a week while vacationing, I started it up, and it was working fine until it randomly shut down and brought up an error screen (hence the reason it shut down) and asked if I wanted to boot normally. I powered it down; now it won't start at all. Power button doesn't work, demounting the battery for a minute and remounting doesn't work, nothing works. I have a genius bar appointment soon, but am wondering if anyone has some advice.
Close problem - I believe the problem is RAM is storing your last data, and not releasing it, so you cannot boot it. Trying removing RAM fully, then starting.

2010 Mini superdrive has stopped working after Mountain Lion update - anyone else?
After updating to 10.8 the superdrive on my 2010 mini has completely stopped working. It will not accept any disks. Disk Utility sees the drive as a working drive. Anyone else having this issue? If yes and you've resolved it, how??
Same thing happened to me with Mountain Lion. It seems that at the moment there's no solution. I've tried to burn a DVD with Toast Titanium, iDVD and the SimplyBurn. All of them failed.
It's a shame that Apple did this because we pay for a computer with a drive that could burn DVD discs. I´m very, very disappointed with Apple! -
Why do gestures stop working after Mountain Lion update?
I've just installed Mountain Lion on my MBP, and soon after a reboot, gestures stop working.
Rebooting fixes this, at least temporarily. But soon afterwards I can't switch between screens with three finger swipe etc.
Yes, gestures are enabled in preferences.
Any clues?Having same issue with iMac and Magic Mouse.
I found that Mission Control stopped working as well (even with the App shortcut in Applications) and as such found a quicker workaround than login / logout. Open Terminal and type:
killall Dock
This will restart the Dock and Mission Control etc and seems to restore the gestures.
Cheers

Macbook Pro won't reboot after mountain lion installation.
I installed the new Mountain Lion o/s and the installation was sucessful. However, when the computer started to
reboot by itself, it just stuck on the grey screen with the logo and the turning wheel. It has been like this for hours.
What should I do to fix this problem? Please help. The computer was purchased during Christmas 2011.Call Apple support and they can talk you through getting back to a restore.
It appeared that my disk was a little corrupt before performing the upgrade. You should use diskutility to verify and repair your disk before doing this upgrade.
Or just hold the option key down on boot up to see if you can get to the restore utility. -
Internet sharing from Wifi to Ethernet is not working after Mountain Lion upgrade
First I was having trouble just connecting these two, now I can't get the Internet sharing to work. Here's what I am trying to do: I want to share my Macbook Pro's internet connection from it's Wifi to another laptop I have connected via ethernet cable. They will ping each other now. The problem now is that the laptop won't pick up the Internet connection from the Macbook Pro, even though I have it configured exactly as I had in Snow Leopard. Nothing has changed on the laptop from before when it worked fine with Snow Leopard. But now that I updated to Mountain Lion, Internet sharing no longer works no matter what I try. I've been trying to find a solution by to no avail. Could anyone here offering some advice or a solution that will fix my problem? I've been over the basic steps over and over again, so please don't ask me to do something stupid like reboot or check the Sharing settings. They're exactly how they are meant to be, but the thing just won't work.

Ran a TCPdump on my Macbook Pro. It is recieving the ping requests, but the laptop still isn't getting replies to its pings. So something is wrong in the Macbook's configuration somewhere. I don't know where, though. -
Stand-by button on Cinema HD display doesn't work after Mountain Lion upgrade
Hi,
After I upgraded my Mac mini (spring '09) to Mountain Lion it appears that the buttons on the side of my Cinema HD display doesn't work. There is a setting in sys preferences that should put the Mac in stand-by when the power button is pressed. This doesn't work after I upgraded to OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Does anyone have similar experience. Anyway to fix it?
Thanks,

Macbook air batter life affected after mountain lion upgrade
after upgrading my computer with mountain lion there has been a big drop in battery life. I have a 2011 macbook air 13 inch. At least a 40% reduction in battery life. No large use of cpu as per activity monitor.
Add me to the list of macbook air users whose battery life is now about 60% what it was prior to the 'upgrade'. My 2011 air also runs much hotter.
Apple, please fix!!!
