What "online customer assist" are you referring to? The only entity at Apple that could or would help you with this issue is Apple Developer Support. Is that who you contacted?
In any case, are you referring to the capacity of the iPad itself? If so, a 16GB will be fine for testing unless you have it loaded up with too much stuff for your app to load and run. If that's not what you meant, please clarify.

It is correct. Vcard and Vcalendar is a feature of Outlook.

SDK Apps - where to suggest ideas to developers

SDK Apps - how do we suggest what we'd like to have?
I'm sure I'm not the only person with ideas for iPhone apps - but I can't see anywhere we can suggest them to the SDK developers. I know the ideas could go via Apple's feedback page, but there's no ensuring the ideas would be disseminated. Anyone know a forum where suggetions could be made, either here or on another web site?
I personally haven't bought an iPhone as it doesn't do what I want (I want a work horse, not a fancy iPod), so the right apps would be a deal-clincher for me, and perhaps others in my industry (I'm a journalist, although some of my ideas for apps are related to photography). They'd make the developer some money, even after paying the 99 bucks for Apple verification.
I'd be disappointed if Apple didn't set up a forum where (potential) customers could say what they'd like to buy (a process that is standard across most of the business world). After all, they will sell more units if the right apps are available.
Anyone agree with me? Anyone know another place that developers monitor?
And why are the other SDK threads opened on March 6th now locked? I'd wanted to post there where some of the replies came from developers, but they've been locked. Is it due to volume of replies, or are Apple scared of something?

Folders with forward slashes in the name not appearing in Mail.app Exchange

Has anybody else seen this? For folders with forward slashes in the name, such as "Meetings/Events", the folder shows up in Outlook Web Access and over Exchange in Entourage 2008, but not Exchange over IMAP with Mail.app in Snow Leopard. The folder shows up once I remove the forward slashes, such as "Meetings Events" or "Meetings-Events" or "Meetings and Events".
Is this a known issue, and is there a fix besides renaming the folders?

In Unix the forward slash is an illegal character for a filename. In general you should avoid using it as the forward slash is used in path names such as /Folder/File. Avoid using the colon as well because it's commonly used as part of a disk identifier in OS X.
This is not any different than avoiding the backslash in Windows filenames.

Mail.app exchange 2007 Assertion failure in EWSConnect sendMessage:forReque

Snow leopard hasn't worked properly with our exchange server for months, I was hoping this would be sorted in 10.6.3 but it seems not.
Incoming mail is fine, sending text emails or sendmail with attachments such as PDFs is also ok. The problem is when sending / forwarding any HTML mails, or by sending an email with an embedded image.
Upon doing this the mail sits in the outbox and gives the following error to the console

One fix is to switch the outbound SMTP manually to be the exchange hostname or say a home ISP but this is a hack considering sending mail clearly works purely over SSL and web services, it's just certain attachments that are failing. It's also a pain for travelling users with laptops who won't always have access to SMTP due to blocked ports etc.

Exchange 2007 is completely upto date with SP2 and all updates, various outlook clients connect fine as does entourage 2004/2008

Delay/sleep/wait in an iPhone SDK app?

I'm trying to get some numbers to count up on the screen of my iPhone, but I can't see any way of delaying the app.
I have a for loop that changes the figures on-screen from one value to another by individual increments, but when I run it, you only see the final figure because it runs so fast.
Is there a way of adding a delay in the for loop so that the numbers visibly change? I'd like to see 0 change to 1 change to 2 change to 3 etc. instead of, erm, just 3.
I thought of putting a second for loop in that counted up to, say, a million, but that's too fudgey for me. I'm sure there's a delay function in the iPhone SDK...

You can also do eg. [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:5.0] to sleep for 5 seconds..

Error starting XBox SDK app on Android

This message is about Xbox SmartGlass SDK on Android. I couldn't find the applicable forum so I posted it here hoping that Microsoft moderator can re-post it to the appropriate forum.
I'm getting the following error trying to start SmartGlass app on Android. The errors shows up in logcat immediately following the message about successfully loading libSmartGlassSDK.so.
How do I troubleshoot this? Thanks.

Why is Maps more precise than SDK apps? [iPhone]

I'm using Core Location Manager with best accuracy and get latitude and longitude. When I call Google Maps with the lat/long values I get a marker pretty close to where I really am.
If, however, I use the build in iPhone Maps application I get the PRECISE location, which is some hundred meters from what my own app yields.
I'm running on an iPhone 3G.
Does anybody know:
- Whether Maps uses internal APIs not available via the SDK?
- What is the appropriate way to "enforce" GPS over cell tower location resolving (CLManager)
- Any other hints re this issue

I have the same issue. My iTunes library and iPad mini both say they have 2215 songs but my iPhone 5s says it has 2225. All devices are set to sync entire iTunes music automatically. I do not understand how I have more songs on my iPhone than my entire iTunes library. Please help.

IPad Air Mail App & Exchange 2013

Hi all,
My iPad Air (iOS 7.1.1) Mail App was setup with our work Exchange 2010 and it worked with no problem. Just today they upgrade to Exchange 2013 it stopped connecting. I deleted the account (after searching the internet) and trying to recreate it with no success it says "Unable to verify account information"
Any idea how to solve this.
FYI, my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.3) working with no problem with Exchange 2010 and the new Exchange 2013, I just Quit the Mail prog and run it.

To delete an email account, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your account] and find "Delete account" toward the bottom.

Using mail.app, exchange password expired, missing messages

Using Mail.app with an exchange account. Unknowingly my password had expired. I wrote lots of emails and pressed send. Got the 'whoosh' so I thought everything was ok. Subsequently I discovered my password had expired as I was not receiving new emails.
I then discovered the emails I was working on had not been sent (not in the exchange sent, outbox or drafts).
They are not locally in Mail.app, I can't find them in any of the local folders. What has happened? Is this a bug.
Any idea where the messages are please, 5 hours work down the drain if I can't recover them.

Mail works fine with Exchange 2003. This is how our accounts are configured:
Incoming Mail Server:your exchange server.domain.com.au
eg. server2.bunnings.com.au
Username: domain\User alias\Full username
eg. bunnings\bobs\bob.smith
SMTP: smtp.bunnings.com.au
Web Access Server: webmail.bunnings.com.au
You can then setup the LDAP options under the composing tab to get the email list from your Exchange server.
And no i do not work for Bunnings!

How come all my Adobe SDK apps crash hard? What am I missing?

I believe I have copied carefully the statements included with the Adobe SDK. In all my apps, my code is enclosed as follows:

I hate to tell you this, but I tried the "DURING, HANDLER; END_HANDLER" constructs, in several variations, taking the code from the examples, and the result is that the application crashes as soon as it hits the "DURING". :-(

Google apps exchange stopped pushing

since a couple of hours ago, my google apps account stoppen pushing email to my iphone. if i go in the mail app, they sync but it no longer pushes. i delted the account and added again and same thing happens!
