Search one forum

Search doesn't seem to be restricting itself to the forum I'm in. I searched it the iCal and AppStore forums for
font size
When I was in the AppStore forum I fleetingly saw a result for iCal font size. Yet when I search in iCal forum for that thread, I get the same three results I got searching the AppStore forum:

For a more wider adjustment, go to system preferences>general>sidebar icon size...choose S,M,L...

My bad. It's the question field, which just gives similar questions, not the search field. If I use the search field, it lets me restrict it to one forum. But I'm still puzzled why the question field would search unrelated forums.

• Can only search all Forums not a specific one?

Hi all,
I would like to search a single forum for a search query. Is this possible in Adobe Forums?
I see only the "Search Forums" field on the top right of the page where I can do a search over all forums. This is not what I would like to do (imagine LiveCycle with a bunch of forums).
How can I search only one forum?
Thanks.
Paul

Paul,
To elaborate a bit:
The advanced Google Search should contain the following inserted in the top boxes (nothing else needed):
1) all these words/one or more of these words: the word(s) you are looking for
2) this exact wording or phrase: Up to discussions in *forum name*
2) is the more important part, limiting the search to threads belonging to that particular forum.
I believe most of us have given up on any forum search until further notice (about forum software udgrading).

You can use this page for doing searches:

• Disappearing option of Search this forum

There used to be a Search this forum button in the Illustrator forum, but now it has disappeared altogether.
While it was still there, some of us had hopes of its beginning to work again, some day, maybe.
But now it is gone.
What about other forums?
Any hopes left?

Can't imagine any reason they would change
Great news.
Some of us "old timers" recall several times, when the older posts got dumped.
There was the aborted forum software issue - forget the dates, where much was lost. Some was saved to an archive, but the thread titles were all gone, so one only had page after page of "Post 15059686776," followed by "Post 15059686777," and so on. After a false start, the old forum was reinstated, but with the loss of the older posts.
Then, there was Jive.
Seems that I am missing a big dump of older posts, and someone will refresh my memory.
Anyway, a lot of us rely on those older posts, even when a product's version number has moved up a few notches.
Thanks,
Hunt

• Tip: searching the forum with user name

Hello,
The forum software was recently upgraded. Unfortunately, very important and useful feature – searching the forum according to user name or user ID – was actually downgraded. It was simply removed from the user interface, and by that can seriously impair the daily “work” of all the users.
The odd angle of this issue is that it seems that the searching capability was not removed from the search engine itself, just from the user interface. The searching URL recognize a parameter called ‘&userID=…’, and that one will filter the search result by the user ID (unfortunately, I couldn’t find a similar parameter for the user handle name). For example, the following URL will give you Joel’s posts with the key word ‘translatable’, in the last 90 days –
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=translatable&objID=f137&dateRange=last90days&numResults=30&userID=148363The following will give you all Scott’s posts with the key words ‘page’ and ‘cache’ (without date limit) –
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=page+%26%26+cache&objID=f137&dateRange=all&numResults=30&userID=57434As can be seen, this URL is long, complicated, and includes escape codes. In order to make it a bit simpler, I’m using the regular user interface to define all the search criteria available there, make the search and them manually adding, to the end of the search engine created URL, the ‘&userID=…’ parameter.
As this parameter is using the users ID numbers, I’ve compiled the following liste, which include my “top forum users”. Everyone welcome to add their owns.
User Name - User ID
Scott Spadafore - 57434
Joel Kallman - 148363
Carl Backstrom - 354238
John Scott (Jes) - 422290
Denes Kubicek - 15826
Andy (ATD) - 503936
Patrick Wolf - 132282
Dimitri Gielis - 570759
Tyler Muth - 283901
Arie Geller - 229120I would like to thank Scott for giving me the initial tip. I hope this will help us make better use of this great knowledge pool.
Regards,

Arie,
Great! I was really missing this feature...I'd give you 10 points for that if I could ;)

Hi Cristian,
As peter mentioned, Please refer to SDK Online Help=>Content=>Degeloper Guide=>DI Server
In addition, you can the sample code of DI Server here:
<<...
SAPSAP Business One SDKSamplesDI Server>>
As regard to php sample, sorry we don't such sample so far.
Per php, I recommend you to B1WS, a web service wrapper of DI Server for only those 45 services objects. You can download B1WS here: SDK Tools Download:
SAP Business One Tools [original link is broken]
=>SAP Business One Web Services Wrapper Tool
From technical perspective, DI Server is based DCOM technology, I am not sure it is natively supported php. So you may think about wrapping DI server as web server with ASP.net, just like B1WS. php<=>web server<=>DI server

• Grayed area to share...I have searched the forums

Here's my problem, making a idvd, want to place one song in the project to play in pictures. Ok, itunes doesn't show up. Burned a disc with .aiff and and was told to add it to a project in imovies. Ok did that... now how do get it to share with idvd? The whole list for sharing at the top of my desktop is grayed out in imovies??
I am guessing this is the only way I can get this particular song to play on idvd, correct?
If I can get this figured out my project is done and ready to burn. New to Apple this summer...
Sorry but I searched the forums here and couldn't find my fix. thanks for the help

• How can I create more than one forums

I create a forum1 base on KM Discussion iView,
then I create a forum2 base on KM Discussion iView to.
then I found that the forum1 and forum2 is the same forum. when i post a topic on forum1, i will see this topic also in forum2.
would you tell me what is the right way to create forum?
thanks

Hi Kang
in the prorperties of the iview there is
Path to Discussion-Related Object. Here you specify different path to the km(to the folder you create for forum1 and in the other iview for form2). Then the discussions in one forum will not be reflected in other forums.

• How to search this forum by tags, answered questions, and quickly navigate to next/previous posts

New user to these forums. I've read all the Search documentation.
1. How do I search this forum by tags?
2. Is there a way to view just the posts that were answered or where the original poster found some help?
3. Is there a way to quickly move to next/previous posts without having to backtrack to the list of posts and then manually click the next/previous post?
Thanks!

Why is Apple such a freaking control freak?
Hey Apple—quit fixing s**t that isn't broken!

You could use google. If you want to only search these discussions forums use the following syntax in a google search:
whatever you are searching for site:discussions.apple.com
Update:
Why is this questio/discussion in Cinema Displays when it should have been in Using Apple Support Communities?

How do we search this forum? I can't use the search function

You're not alone in this problem - check out the !Feedback

Oracle might get the hint and reintroduce a search facility
before too long :-)
Oh - and “Am I to go through all the listings (1-10)”. Don't
want to worry you but there are more that ten pages in this
forum – I estimate about 650 (I got to page 80 yesterday before
giving up)
