Iam Navya Jeevan,regarding Oracle Forms and Reports Doubts.
Our project is developed using Forms and Reports
In Forms for triggers we are using Pl/SQl language.
DOUBT
IN a form we require an option like search button when we press the search button a small window must be opened.This window should contain details from database(ie an entire column of database,must be displayed in the window ) and the user selects the value from the window.
If u got any sample code related to this subject please mail to me.

I now they are there, so I go through all my folders, and find the files, or folders I am looking for ...
So why could this be happening, why are they not found in the search ?

As baltwo eventually explained, you have to add the search criteria "System files" to your search, with the option "Include" selected, to find many items Spotlight otherwise excludes from search results. Alternately (& quite ridiculously), if your search is restricted to the parent folder containing the item, you don't need to add this.
For example, if you open /Library in the Finder, enter "Desktop Pictures" in the search box, you won't get it in the results with the default "This Mac" location, but if you click "Library" for the location, you will. (Yes, many users think this is bizarre, "what were they thinking?" behavior.)
What Spotlight considers "system files" is only slightly less bizarre, as you will probably discover once you start using it to broaden searches. For instance, Safari history items & Mail.app messages are not found unless you include system files, but many files like C Header Source files (in System/Library/Frameworks) are found without including system files in the search.
When it was introduced in Tiger, Spotlight was supposed to be a next-generation search engine, capable of accurately guessing what you were looking for (& filtering out what you weren't) with near-sentient intelligence. I think almost anyone who used that version will agree it did not achieve that lofty goal. Apple apparently agreed, or at least listened to the complaints enough to realize it needed rethinking. Unfortunately, what its designers came up with for the Leopard rethink feels like an early beta version, full of hastily implemented, quirky features that never got sorted out before it was released.
We can only hope that we won't have to wait for OS 10.6 for a more mature, less quirky version.

Cant sign into twitter except when using a new privacy window

I am having a problem signing into my twitter except when I use the "new privacy window" tab. Then I can sign in without any issues

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.
*check the permissions on the about:permissions page and in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
*Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Creating new small window

I am try to figure out how to create a new smaller window
when you click on a image link. Also how can I keep that window
from having all the browser info on top. I want it to just have the
page title at the top.

Problem using views containing xpath expressions with Oracle Forms

Nice to see you back on the forum answering questions.
This example is based on the standard purchaseorder schema.
i registered the schema, created a relational table and then created
a view using xpath.everything works well and i am able to select the data
using sql*plus. Now this views is like any other view, when i describe the
view, i can see the all the data types are valid for the columns and also the lengths.
Now when i try to base a data block in oracle forms using this view, i get error
"ORA-24324 - service handle not initialized."
Whereas if i create another view on top of the first view and then base the data block on this view, it works for me. i described the second view from sql*plus and everything seems to be same for me.
this is the same behaviour from database 9i r2 and it exists in 10g r1 also.
Any hints as what might be the problem or you would like me to file a tar for this.

Not used Forms for years. However I suspect that Forms is trying to poke around behind the view and not understanding what it sees. I expect you'll need to open a Forms Tar to get to the bottom of this. It also appears that you a workaround which is to create a view on the view by the sound of it..

Can't change search options in Outlook 2007 on Windows Server 2008R2 Remote Desktop Users

One of my users is trying to change search options in Outlook 2007.
But he can't change the search options.
He is working with Outlook 2007 on Remote Desktop Services 2008 r2.
We doen't use cache mode on terminal server.
Any sugesstion how we can enabling search options for remote desktop users ?

To customize Instant Search options by using Group Policy
- In Group Policy, load the Office Outlook 2007 template (Outlk12.adm).
- To customize how results are displayed, under
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office Outlook 2007\Tools | Options\Preferences\Search Options, double-click the setting that you want to set. For example, double-click Turn off wordwheel.
- Click Enabled. For hit highlighting color, choose a color from the Background Color drop-down list.
- Click OK.

In addition, perform below steps to edit the registry key and check.
Step 1: Open the Registry Editor application.

0 and click OK.

Step 5: Right click the SetupCompletedSuccessfully key and select Modify. Change its Value Data to 0 and click OK.
Step 6: Restart your computer and you will now be able to perform advanced searches in Microsoft Outlook.

How to make a hyperlink to open new small window?

HI!
I try to make Dreamweawer to do next action when i click on
some hyperlink on my page:
- open new small sized window that does not have any
navigation buttons from browser (back, forward, stop,...)
- in that window there should be only picture and some text

I'm trying to transfer music from iTunes on an old PC (Windows Vista Home Basic) that uses an external storage device to store the files to a new PC (Windows 7 Starter) that will use that same external storage device. I am also dealing with the new iTunes 11. How can I accomplish this successfully? What folder does iTunes use to store the data in? I've tried several things. Home Sharing caused duplicates but not all songs or apps transfered. It is a large library! I've tried just setting the path in the Advanced Tab of iTunes preferences of the new computer with the external drive connected the same as the path when the external drive is connected to the old computer. This was the best solution so far but still a few artists missing and some apps. Any suggestions?

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
With iTunes 11 you might also have a Home Videos folder inside iTunes Media.
In the simplest cases you copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source computer to <User's Music> on the target machine, install iTunes, and it "just works"TM.
If the media folder (inside the red outline) has been split out to a separate location then you can copy the library folder (outside the red outline) as before and connect the drive holding the media so that it has exactly the same path as before. If the drive appears as D: on one system and E: on the other then the library won't be able to find the media.
The crucial file is iTunes Library.itl - this contains a record of the tracks that have been added to the library, ratings, play counts, playlists etc.

How to use At New Cntrol Break in smart form LAyout

Hi all respected seniors and experts.....
I am facing one problem in smart form I am creating layout for Tax Invoice in that I want to display in Header area "ARKTX" Short text for sales order item and sum of quantity "FKIMG" and Rate "GKBETR" and Gross amount after multiplying of FKIMG and GKBETR with respected to cheking Rate "GKBETR" and "ARKTX " .
Rate is changing for diffrent documnet no. e.x VBELN .....
means some time for changing of every VBELN rate is different "GKBETR"
so i want to print the same RATE's quantiy on one page and changing of Rate should print on next page onwards .....
and details of quantity with all diffrent vbeln should display on Body of layout....
I think it will solve by using At New control break .....but can any body tell me what is the exact solution of this problem

Has anyone done this? If so, could you please provide steps involved or point me to a good tutorial

Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions.
I do not believe you can add new fields to seeded forms using forms personalization.

Maximize window in oracle forms

Hi,
I want to maximize the window (auto fit) in oracle forms 11g.
In pre-form I use
SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
Still not working.
I want my main form should be fit in browser.
Please help...

I am using content canvas and tab canvas in same screen.Now I am able to view all the field but i need to scroll down below to see all the fields, I want all the fields should be displayed without scroll down.>
The screen is your real estate. If you have a 1000 sq ft of plot and want to fit a building with 2000 sq ft floorspace on it how would you do it?
a. Reduce the plan area by making fewer rooms or smaller rooms?(reduce field sizes, make multiple blocks , increase min required resolution )
b. Make a multi storey building (stacked canvas ? multi-block?)
The same logic applies to forms.

Using Java Access bridge (Accessibility) with oracle forms 6.0 client

I'm trying to use JAB (java Access bridge ) to capture events in oracle forms 6.0 client .
I've a Jinitiator 1.1.8 and JRE version 1.4x
I've configured JAB as per the installation guide . However the events don't surface in Java Monkey .
Has anybody encountered similar issue ? what is the solution for the issue ??
Also on one of the forums I read Jinitiator 1.3x and above is automatically recognised by Java Access bridge .
For jinitiator version less than 1.3 manual configuration is required . however I haven;'t been able to find any on the oracle forms KB

Doubt with Windows and Oracle Forms 10G and 11g

I have some doubts in installing Oracle Client on Windows.
a)Can we install Oracle Forms 10g and Reports 10g client on Windows 7?
b)Can we install Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g client on Windows XP?
c)If we have an Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g, can it connect to a 10g Server?
d)If we have an Oracle Forms 10g and Reports 10g Client, can it connect to an 11g Server?
Please, Can any one help me in this????

a)yes it can be installed on win7, may have some issues on 64bit systems but they're solvable
b)11g had some problems with windows 2000, but didn't see mention of any problems on XP
c)if you mean a database server then yes - i managed to connect 11g to an 8i database, so v10 should not be a problem. If you mean a forms/reports server..well newer forms/reports builder might not want to run old forms/reports and vice versa, but I don't see the point of operating on the same files from different versions. You can still load old form/report source files with a newer builder and recompile them to run on the new server.
d) the "client" is effectively your web browser with a java plugin, unless I misunderstood your question. What version was a form/report compiled with should not be an issue.

Hi,
not knowing the flat file's format and why you need SIMBA for it, Forms provides a text_io package that can read from files. You need to parse the file's content and then bring this to a datablock.
