Searching 'parent' group for member of 'sub group'

Running XI 3.1 using Windows AD SSO . BOE group 'Report users' contains Windows AD subgroup '<domainname\groupname>'. In CMC searching for an individual user from parent BOE group 'Report users' search returns nothing. When searching 'User list' the user is returned. When searching Windows AD subgroup '<domainname\groupname>' directly the user is returned.
Is there a way to search for an individual from the parent BOE group level?

members of a sub groups will not display in the parent unless you copy them to the parent. This is by design. The reason nothing returns is because they aren't actually members. But since they belong to a sub group that is a member then they will inherit permissions from the parent. This is usually why everything gets set up this way.
There may be a complex query that you can try with query builder to pull both group members and sub group members. Best to check in the [SDK forums|/community [original link is broken]; for that.

Hello Gurus
We have 2 EE Sub groups which have the same work schedule - Flexible Working hours - 8 hrs/ day - 5 days a week. One of the EE subgroups will get paid Hourly at 80 hrs a week and the other will be paid salaried for 80 hrs a week.
Can anyone please help me configure this with a step by step explanation ? I have already configured a holiday calendar.

1. Create break Schedules which would be ur break timings and Paid or unpaid.
2.create Daily workschedule which would be ur daily work hours by giving start time and end time and assign break schedules to that.
2.Create Period workschedule in which U have to define 7 days daily work schedule.For Example Monday to Friday ur Workscheules having working hours and Saturday and Sunday Free workschedules(if u have Sat and Sun as off days of week)
3.Then U have to configure work schedule rules and generate the workschedules.
These are the basic steps to be performed.

i got hold by a issue. as per the business requirement i have to add 2 infotypes for a infogroup . the main issues here is the those infotype should appear only for one of the employee sub group not for all. kindly do the needful.

F110 Grouping for posting bank sub account

Hello,
We use F110 transaction for vendor payments by electronic transfer.
For each vendor, we have a G/L entry grouping all invoices/credit notes with the dedicated bank sub account.
So for 50 payments (to different vendors), we have 50 G/L entries for example.
We would like to have one more automatic entry in order to solve the value of the bank sub account to another bank sub account.
The goal of this entry is for having a better clearing when the electronic bank statement is integrated in the system, because for an electronic transfer of 50 payments, we only have one line in the bank statement.
What can we do to get this automatically ?
Would appreciate some information in this subject.

Return all Groups for Outer Join + Count + Group By

I have two tables, TC and XEA. The relationship is one TC to many XEA. TC is a lookup table and has one field, the code field TCSI_CD. XEA has the same code field called BAM_TCSI, which is the joining key, and also another field, the date field, LOAD_DATE.
I want to generate a report counting the records in XEA and grouping by the code list in TC. When a TC code is not found in XEA, the report must show a count of zero. The SQL shown does not work, as codes not found in XEA are omitted. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to include a (+) after the load_date column. If you omit that, it negates the whole outer join and turns your query into an inner join. Then just a regular count will work, returning 0 for the null values. You also might want to use the to_date function, instead of relying on your session having the matching nls_date_format.

Changing or Deleting Standard Employee Sub Groups

Dear All,
I am creating a new Personnel Structure. The abbreviations that I want to use for my personnel Sub Groups are already used in the standard. Now all I want to ask is that should I delete the standard Employee Sub Groups and make my own with the abbreviations that I want or should I change the existing Employee Sub Groups and use them as my own? Some one told me once that you should never delete or change anything from the standard and now I am confused as to what I should do. If I change or delete the existing Employee Sub Groups will that have any negative effect on the system?

I think you should be able to leverage the existing employee subgroups - just make sure the way they have been currently configured for all rules and schemas for the standard system works for your scenarios as well. If not, you may need to change all those related tables and features and schemas and rules as needed.

Mapping of details grade / employee sub-group / activity type

Is there a common table that I can download the details of grade / employee sub-group / activity type.
OR
Do I need to download them from different tables, If so, what are the tables that I can link up. In such case if I am creating a query through SQVI, what is common field in these three tables.
OR
Is there any logical database in SQVI for downloading the details for grade / employee sub-group / activity type

When you create a new material you have to specify the material types like finished goods or raw material like that in the initial screen
For this new material types can be defined in
SPRO -> Logistic - General -> Material Master -> Basic Settings -> Material Type ->Define attribute of material Type
T code OMS2
After specifying the material type and giving organizational data like plant, storage location,sales org etc we go on to create the material
In one of the tabs the material groups should be specified and from MM point of view it is a reqd entry
this can be defined in
Define Material Group
SPRO -> Logistic - General -> Material Master -> Setting for Key Field -> Define Material Group
T .Code: OMSF

Ignore dimension build error Incorrect Parent For Member (3307)

Is it possible to ignore the following error:
Incorrect Parent [XYZ] For Member ABC (3307)
The error appears because the member is in outline already. Is there a way to ignore that error?

The reason for the error is you have multiple rows in your dimension build file with conflicting information. One row says to associate the member with parent A and another row says to associate it with Parent B. TimG's suggestion to set them ember to allow moves would get rid of the error, but the member will be associated with the last row in your data. If you do not allow moves (as it appears you have) there is no way to turn off the error. In your case it is what I call a soft error, you know about it, but don't want to do anything about it. I would suggest you clean up your data so it does not cause this issue. It is troublesome to me when the incoming data has this type of inconsistency and the solution is to ignore it

In contacts section for the groups section i want to delete old groups i have on the phone and then add a new group for easy access for work contacts for calling. rather then searching each individual contact when needed. is this possible?

i currently have about 6 different groups listed on the iphone in my contact list section and i want to delete the old ones and create a new group for work puposes!
i dont want any apps all i want is something similar to my favourites list but in a group so i can just go into that work group and scroll to the person i need to call and this way seperating my personal and work contacts.
because i do alot of calls from my car i dont want to have to search my contact lists to find the right person i just want them all in a simple folder.
is this possible because if i already have groups on my iphone i should be able to delete the old ones and create a new one?

Deleting groups on the phone and creating new ones is not supported with iOS4, you'll have to do that on your computer and sync again.
Let's see if they changed that in iOS5 when it is released.

I developed a search help exit for material group for the search helps both H_T023 and H_2023_MEPO to restrict certain material groups from the actual display as follows
1) I developed custom table to hold the Invalid material groups
2) Developed search help as same as in the bellow link

This is working fine when we press F4 in ME21N Transaction and give some description and then press enter the popup screen.
But my requirement is user will enter some description in ME21N material group field and press enter ( Not pressing the F4 here) at this moment this is not going through the search help exit and displaying all the entries including the Invalid materials.
Note: We can delete the Invalid material groups but the documents which are having the invalid material already will have an issue and need to be corrected all the documents. But our requirement is only to use the correct materials groups from now onwards.
I would appropriate if any one can helping this regard.

You can call your ZSEARCH_HELP from the PAI , on the event SY-UCOMM = Enter using the function module F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST.
For example, your screen field is MARA-ZXXXX, screen 0100 and search help : ZSEARCH_HELP
