Second Printed Page of a Report Is Corrupted As Well the Report View When Focus Is Returned To It

I am having a problem with a report in Access 2010. The report detail has a linked subreport in it. I build a query dynamically for both the report and subreport. There is a form that builds the queries and then displays the report in Report View. Everything
is displayed correctly. In this view I have a command button that will print the report using “DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPrint.”The printed report’s first page is correct. The second page has #error for all the fields for next record detail and that is it. At
this point, there are still multiple records to print. When focus is returned to the Print View, it is corrupted and usually freezes.
If after the Report View is displayed, I right click on the header and choose to display the Print Preview, all pages are displayed correctly. If I right click again, and select print, all pages are printed correctly, and the Report View is not corrupted.
To see if I had corrupted the database, I imported everything into an empty database. After compiling the code, the behavior did not change at all.
Once I place the database into production, everything will be driven by command buttons on the forms and reports so the left-click drop-down menus or any ribbons will not be available.
Does anyone know what is happening?
Thanks, in advance.

Hi Ray,
I failed to reproduce this issue in my test environment (Access 2013).
Steps:
#1 Create a table with the attachment field, add multiple records
#2 Create a report with the table
#3 Click Print Preview of the report, it worked correctly
Can you also reproduce this issue in a newly created database, if no, I will suspect that issue is related to the specific database file (data issue or database is corrupted). You could use the link below to compact and repair the database.

If the methods above do not work, it would be helpful if you could share us a simple demo to reproduce this issue. Due to privacy issues, I will also suggest you submitting a professional support incident to get the 1-1 support service so that Microsoft
engineers can work closely with you to resolve this issue.

    Not easy...
    Not really?  Just uncheck the second checkbox for the first page and the nav bar is gone.

  • When the reports will be posted to the report node

    Hi ,
    I am wondering that when the reports will be posted to the report node. Whether the reports are posted to the node once the creation of the single report finishes or the post action will be performed until the finish of the process?
    Anyone has this experience ?
    Thanks in advance!

    on a process like PSJob, each individual process is treated as a separate instance. every instance gets posted separately.
    the overall distribution status gets updated once the complete job finishes.
    that is same with single processes or reports. the overall process status can get updated at the end, but the posting of report to the report node will be done as soon as the instance run completes. it does not wait to transfer the complete reports at the end of the job.
    Thanks

    what will be the peoplesoft query to calculate voluntary termination count and involuntary termination count? I am working on OBIA HR analytics workforce deployment reports and need to validate the reports. I also want to know the tables involved

    Hi Andrew,
    Part A:
    I've done some restating of the question, and distributed the calculations among several fields, not all of which need to be included on the visible layout. Other than formatting the Date fields and moving the 'Completed Date' field and its label, I've left this in the default "Layout 1" produced by AppleWorks.
    Field List:
    Priority: Popup menu with six items: 00, J, D, 1, 2, 3  Defaults to 00
    TL (time limit in months): Calculation:  CHOOSE('Priority',0,1,3,4,6,12)
    Received: Date. Option: Automatically insert today's date (ie. Date Record created) (may be edited)
    Target Date: Calculation:
    DATE(YEAR('Received')+INT(MONTH('Received')+'TL')/12,MOD(MONTH('Received')+'TL', 12),DAY('Received'))
    Remaining (Days): Calculation: INT('Target Date'+1-NOW())  (see revision below)
    Completed: Checkbox. Set default value to Unchecked.
    Completed Date: Date: Entered manually
    OnTarget: Calculation: IF('Completed',IF('Completed Date'<'Target Date',"On Target","Over"),IF(INT(NOW())>'Target Date',"Over","On Target"))
    The On Target field shows the current status of the case while still open, and the state on the closing date when it was closed.
    Having done that, I was unhappy with the Remaining field continuing to calculate an ever larger negative number after the case had been closed. Hence this revision below:
    Remaining: Calculation: IF('Completed','Target Date'-'Completed Date',INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()))
    Shows the number of days remaining while the case is open, the days remaining at completion if the case has been marked Completed and the completion date entered.
    Rsults (and some further formatting of the Layout) below.
    Part B:
    You will need Subsummary parts when sorted on Completed and on On Target. Fields can appear on  a Layout only once, so each subsummary part will need a separate Summary type field for each field to be summarized.

    Barry

  • No page error but also no image displayed on the report ?

    Hi Everyone,
    First I like to apologise for the long post, but I would like to make sure that I am providing the full information so as not to waist anyone's time.
    As I am having problems displaying images, in a report, but I am not getting any errors, all I see is the typical red X where the image shout be. When I right click the red X and select properties, it all appears to be fine:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/ZOROPIO.FILE_TO_BLOB?p_file_id=6
    except that Type: Not Available
    and Size: Not Available
    So I decided to creating a table and procedures to specifically test my approach and I am still getting the same result.
    I have an Apex page where uses can upload an image to the system, using the following Page Process:
    On Submit - After Computations and validations
    FOR REC IN( SELECT FILENAME, MIME_TYPE
    FROM HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE NAME = :P4_FILENAME
    LOOP
    INSERT INTO AB ( FNAME, MTYPE )
    VALUES (REC.FILENAME, REC.MIME_TYPE);
    END LOOP;
    ZOROPIO.BLOB_TO_FILE(:P4_FILENAME);
    DELETE FROM HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE NAME = :P4_FILENAME;
    The AB table is define as:
    CREATE TABLE "AB"
    (     "DB_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
         "FNAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR) NOT NULL ENABLE,
         "A_IMG" BFILE,
         "MTYPE" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),
         CONSTRAINT "AB_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("DB_ID") ENABLE
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "BI_AB"
    BEFORE INSERT
    ON ZOROPIO.AB
    REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    tmpVar NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    tmpVar := 0;
    SELECT NVL (MAX (DB_ID), 0) + 1 INTO tmpVar FROM AB;
    :NEW.DB_ID := tmpVar;
    IF :NEW.FNAME IS NOT NULL THEN
    :NEW.A_IMG := BFILENAME ('IMG', :NEW.FNAME);
    END IF;
    END BI_AB;
    ALTER TRIGGER "BI_AB" ENABLE
    The BLOB_TO_FILE procedure is defined as:
    create or replace PROCEDURE BLOB_TO_FILE (p_file_name VARCHAR2) AS
    l_out_file UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
    l_buffer RAW (32767);
    l_amount BINARY_INTEGER := 32767;
    l_pos INTEGER := 1;
    l_blob_len INTEGER;
    p_data BLOB;
    file_name VARCHAR2 (256);
    BEGIN
    FOR rec IN (SELECT ID
    FROM HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE Name = p_file_name) LOOP
    SELECT BLOB_CONTENT, filename
    INTO p_data, file_name
    FROM HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES
    WHERE ID = rec.ID;
    l_blob_len := DBMS_LOB.getlength (p_data);
    l_out_file := UTL_FILE.fopen ( 'IMG',file_name, 'wb', 32767 );
    WHILE l_pos < l_blob_len LOOP
    DBMS_LOB.Read ( p_data,l_amount, l_pos, l_buffer );
    IF l_buffer IS NOT NULL THEN
    UTL_FILE.put_raw (l_out_file, l_buffer, TRUE);
    END IF;
    l_pos := l_pos + l_amount;
    END LOOP;
    UTL_FILE.fclose (l_out_file);
    END LOOP;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    IF UTL_FILE.is_open (l_out_file) THEN
    UTL_FILE.fclose (l_out_file);
    END IF;
    END BLOB_TO_FILE;
    This works fine, as I can see the data in both the OS Directory and the AB table after the user uplodas the image.
    I have then define an Apex Report pageto display the uploaded images. The page has the following Source:
    SELECT FNAME, MTYPE,
    '<IMG SRC="ZOROPIO.FILE_TO_BLOB?p_file_id='||NVL( DB_ID, 0)||'"HEIGHT="'||80||'"WIDTH="'||100||'"/>' AS IMAGE
    FROM ZOROPIO.AB
    The ZOROPIO.FILE_TO_BLOB procedure is defined as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE ZOROPIO.FILE_TO_BLOB ( p_file_id NUMBER ) IS
    l_mime_type VARCHAR2 ( 256 );
    l_file_name VARCHAR2 ( 256 );
    l_bfile BFILE;
    l_blob BLOB;
    l_bfile_length NUMBER;
    l_blob_length NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT FNAME, MTYPE
    INTO l_file_name, l_mime_type
    FROM AB
    WHERE DB_ID = p_file_id;
    l_bfile := BFILENAME ('IMG', l_file_name);
    -- MAKE SURE THE FILE EXIST
    IF ( DBMS_LOB.FILEEXISTS( l_bfile ) = 1 ) THEN
    DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY ( l_blob, TRUE, DBMS_LOB.SESSION );
    DBMS_LOB.FILEOPEN ( l_bfile );
    l_bfile_length := DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH ( l_bfile );
    DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE ( l_blob, l_bfile, l_bfile_length );
    DBMS_LOB.FILECLOSE ( l_bfile );
    l_blob_length := DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH ( l_blob );
    OWA_UTIL.MIME_HEADER( NVL ( l_mime_type, 'Application/Octet' ), FALSE );
    HTP.P ( 'Content-length:' || l_blob_length );
    OWA_UTIL.HTTP_HEADER_CLOSE;
    WPG_DOCLOAD.DOWNLOAD_FILE ( l_blob );
    DBMS_LOB.FREETEMPORARY( l_blob );
    ELSE
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20007, 'Requested IMG does not exist');
    END IF;
    END FILE_TO_BLOB;
    I have GRANT EXECUTE to ZOROPIO for both the procedures:
    BLOB_TO_FILE
    FILE_TO_BLOB

    Hi everyone,
    I have check everyone possible and I am unable to find the cause of the problem.
    I decided to recreate an identical setup to the examples provided by Denes on his workspace and I still have the same issue.
    I have change the wwv_flow_epg_include_modules.authorize to include Denes procedure as you can see below.
    CREATE OR REPLACE function APEX_030200.wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local( procedure_name in varchar2) return boolean is
    begin
    if upper(procedure_name) in ( 'my_image_display' ) then
    return TRUE;
    else
    return FALSE;
    end if;
    end wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local;
    The only way I can get it to work is to change the function to RETURN TRUE before the IF statement.
    Any suggestion and this stage may prevent my insanity from getting to silly levels.

  • Crystal Reports prompt issue on export: "The report you requested requires further information"

    I have searched through forums for a solution but none seem to work for me.
    I have an ASP Webform/MySql application which displays Crystal Reports.

    Deep,
        Are you talkign about the report which give you details of which Portal Objects are currently locked?

  • Altering the report's format without destroying the report layout....{solv}

    Hi,
    I have developed a tabular report and the layout (lines, rectangles... etc as customer wants) ....
    Now , i want to alter only the report style.... that is to change it to group left....
    Is it possible... to select the group fields and the fields displayed in the report without redeveloping the report UI (lines , rectangles... e.t.c).
    I have tried the report wizard... but the layout destroyed... and have to do the UI from the beginning.....
    NOTE : I use Dev10g
    Thanks ,
    Sim

    Hi Sim,
    Group Left or Group Above means that you are grouping for 1 or more fields.
    In the Data model, you will have to create a new group and drag the group fields to this new group.
    In the Layout, you will need to add a new repeating frame below all the other repeating frame, frames, etc. ie. create a repeating frame over existing objects. You may need to move all existing objects down and to the right so that there is enough room to create a new repeating frame over these objects. With the repeating frame selected, from the Arrange Menu, select Send to back (F6) or Move Backwards (F8) several times so that the new repeating frame is below all the objects from the tabular layout.
    Also, fix up the source property for the repeating frame. Create a new field(s) inside this new repeating frame for your group left field(s).
    Good luck.

  • COPA Report ( How to explode in the report )

    Hi ,
    I just created COPA painter report for the sales commission.When i drill down the Report it will show the commission posted for each sales district 1 , when i drill the sales district it will show all the profit center 1 updated for the sale district 1 commission, when you drill the profit center it will show the cost centers posted for the profit center 1 commission.
    But here what i need is when i drill the profit center, report must show all the cost centers ( just like when we create a variable for cost centers and explode in the report painter report for cost centers).
    as we use Characteristics i am not able to explode all the cost centers.
    Thanks in adavance

    Hi Saritha,
    Its not technically possible to remove '#' from output when there is no value for that InfoObject unless you exclude it from result set. Other option is to have some character, in our scenario the way we did is, we always put dot ' . ' instead of blank while loading the data into data target which can be done using Transformations / update rules / Transfer rules.
    Anyway you can suppress it....Try this,
    Step 1: Select the Characteristic which u want to hide (#) in the Bex report.
    Step 2: Right click --- restrict --> you will get a popup screen with some values and Select # from the left side of the screen and drop it to the right side.
    Step 3: Right click on the # you will get an option "exclude from selection". Select it and activate.
    Hope it Helps,
    Thanks,
    Amit kr.

  • Too high TimeDataRetrieval(15 mins) of a report is making us restart the reporting services

    Hi,
    We have an SSRS report which is taking less than a minute to open on development server. Same report on production server is taking more than 15 minutes to retrieve the data; rendering and processing time is very small comparatively which is not an
    issue. When we restart the reporting services on the production server, retrieval time is reducing from 15 minutes to less than a minute.
    Please help us in rectifying this critical issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Simple Living, High Thinking.. :)

    Hi RamukNarik,
    Sorry for my delay.
    In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), TimeDataRetrieval is includes time spent opening connections to the data source and time spent reading data rows from the data extension.
    If a report has multiple data sources/data sets that can be executed in parallel, TimeDataRetrieval contains the duration of the longest DataSet, not the sum of all DataSets durations.  If DataSets are executed sequentially, TimeDataRetrieval contains
    the sum of all DataSet durations.
    If the TimeDataRetrieval is high, the data source could be a bottleneck, or the queries retrieve lots of data.  If the there is a high RowCount, lots of data is being retrieved - we might want to review the dataset queries.  If high volumes of
    data are grouped, sorted, and aggregated, high EstimatedMemoryUsageKB values for Processing are very likely. More detail information you can refer to these articles about
    Analyzing and Optimizing Reports and
    Troubleshooting Report Performance.

  • How to display a Report 9i from Forms if the Report has a Parameter Form?

    Hi,
    could some one please post me a code sample to show how to call a (paper layout, RDF) Report from Forms if I would like it to display the Report's parameter form first?
    Thank you in advance.
    Tamas Szecsy
    I used the following code segment do achieve the job, but I get "REP-546: Warning: The value of restricted LOV parameter P_ALAL is not among the selectable values" message, even though I would like to specify the P_ALAL value on the report's parameter Form.
    declare
    paramlist_id ParamList;
    tmp_riport_name varchar2(200);
    report_id          report_object;
    report_job_id varchar2(200);
    tmp_id number;
    begin
    -- init
    tmp_riport_name := null;
              -- parameter list
    paramlist_id := get_parameter_list('mytmp_params');
    if not id_null(paramlist_id) then
    destroy_parameter_list(paramlist_id);
    end if;
    paramlist_id := Create_Parameter_List('mytmp_params');
    add_parameter( paramlist_id, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'YES' );
              -- call report
    report_id := find_report_object( 'DUMMY' );
    if report_id.id is null then
         return;
    end if;
    -- display
    set_report_object_property( report_id, report_execution_mode, runtime );
    set_report_object_property( report_id, report_comm_mode, synchronous );
    set_report_object_property( report_id, report_destype, 'preview' );
    set_report_object_property( report_id, report_desformat, 'PDF' );
    set_report_object_property( report_id, report_server, 'rep_geoias' );
         set_report_object_property( report_id, report_filename, :ALAP_REPORTS_NAME||'.rep' );
    report_job_id := run_report_object( report_id, paramlist_id );
    tmp_id := to_number(substr( report_job_id, length(name_in('rep_geoias'))+2 ));
    web.show_document( '/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||tmp_id||'?server=rep_geoias', '_blank' );
    END;

    I think you specified report object name incorrect.
    in command line:
    repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('REPORT1');
    Report1 must be name of report object in Form Builder.
    However to call report from Oracle Form you must do more work. For example:
    - Create report server name
    - Adding some code to set property for report object base on report server you created.
    Cheer!

  • Interactive Report - How does it build the where claue when filtering data?

    I am curious how APEX builds the where clause when users add filters or does APEX simply filter the data?
    The reason I am asking, is for performance reasons, we have used inner selects to retrieve columns vs. using outer joins. However, I am just curious if we will suffer doing so when users add filters on these columns.
    Below are some details about our report:
    We have a report where we are joining many tables (25 tables) together. Initially, we created the report with outer joins and noticed that the cost of the explain plan was 2600 and the performance was marginal. We then started to remove the outer joins and replacing with inner selects and the cost and performance of the report improved. Currently, we have replaced 13 of the outer joins with inner selects and the cost is down to 650 and the performance is better.
    Below are examples:
    -- Using Outer Joins
    Select q.quote_id, q.quote_name, l.location_name, sr.sales_rep_name
    from quote q, location l, sales_rep sr
    where q.location_id = l.loation_id
    and q.sales_rep_id = sr.sales_rep_id
    -- Using Inner Selects
    Select q.quote_id, q.quote_name,
    (select location_name from location where location_id = q.location_id) location_name,
    (select sales_rep_name from sales_rep where sales_rep_id = q.sales_rep_id) sales_rep_name
    from quote q
    Just curious,
    Thanks,
