Security Block

A user cannot open hyperlink; the "allow" function in Adobe X is not an option when clicking an embedded hyperlink. user has local Admin rights and all settings in Reader X and IE8 are correct. the error is "Acrobat does not allow connection to. . ." When I click on the same link from my PC I get the Security Window that allows me to check the box and select "Allow"; she does not.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

How to disable security block on intranet file:///// urls?

I have the latest version of firefox esr and im trying to remove the security blocks which stop it from opening file:///// urls on our intranet website.
Can anyone tell me how I can disable the feature and get it to open the urls with the relevant program (a folder share windows explorer, and any other document to use the windows default program list).

Can't download an application from the net because of an apple security block

I can't install an application from the net because of some Apple security block. How do I remove or get around the block? The instructions in help say to double click the application and all that happenes is that I get the same window saying I can't install.

It's usually not necessary to change any security settings, and as a rule you shouldn't.
To make a one-time exception to the security policy, follow these instructions. They apply to Installer packages and other installable items as well as applications.

When the installation is done, revert the setting.

Java security blocked Go Flex Home upload application

Not sure at what point in the various upgrades this happened but when attempting to use the multiple upload option using the Seagate FreeAgent Go Flex Home NAS ...... Java blocks the application. Seagate tell me its a security setting problem but I can only set the minimum now at 'HIGH' and the application is still blocked. Thanks cor-el but i've already added exceptions for the site in Java control panel but still can't get it to work. Cleared temp files/cache etc, no change.
Followed all the 'fixes' from those pages that should work but still get the same message no matter what browser i use.
Megashares site has it seems an unsigned certificate but i've used it for years and never had problems with security from it, it's just this last update that blocks me from using it to upload.
Java configuration tab has also changed, only high and medium control there now.
Completely lost with this now, so i'm paying for an account that i can't use because Java is stopping me from using a site that i trust.
The only help from Java gives a link for contacting paid support which i think wrong, there must be a way to fix this without having to do that.

Network speed check Java applet is "security" blocked

IHA has been asking for some time to optimize speed.
Finally had just done a reboot & figured it was a good time to try.
When you run the Network Diagnostic tool from http://my.verizon.com/services/speedtest/defaultndt.aspx,
the Java applet JWEB100 comes back as blocked (MSIE, Firefox & Chrome) A Windows popup (no program attribution) says:

Norton does not really seem to be the culprit, but I could be wrong. The Java console security setting (midway between medium and high) seems to indicate a trusted certificate is required, but why would this applet not have a certicate?
Any ideas?

Since update I can no longer play a regular game on Facebook - security block message appears - what can I do to put things back the way they were?

I play Gardens of Time on Facebook. Now, when I try to send or receive gifts a security warning sign comes up saying the site is not encrypted and a third party will be able to read the info and gives you a choice to continue or not. Click on continue and nothing happens - I still can't send anything and have to exit out because it prevents me from going back into the game.

A side note...I have no problem playing mp4 files from internetarchive.org.
QT on windows has no problem playing files if I save them to disk first...although QT plugin crashes all my windows browsers (ffox, ie) and this didn't use to happen.
I can guarantee no changes to my axis video files...haven't touched the camera for years and I have no problem streaming camera directly, although it is probably mjpeg.

Security block on Google & Youtube

Whenever I want to visit www.google.com or www.youtube.com, I receive the massage: "Connection is not secure"
"You have asked Firefox to put up with www.youtube.com, a secure connection but we can not confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally websites will show trusted identification when you want to set up, to prove that you are going to the right place a secure connection. The identity of this website can not be confirmed."
This problem just showed up recently, and I haven't changed anything in my FireFox settings.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

So you get an open http connection instead of a secure https connection if you use use the latter protocol?
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

How do I bypass the new TLS security blocking

my email server is Network Solutions (webmail3.networksolutionsemail.com) but you won't let me access it.
Do I just need to use a different browser or can I change a setting in Firefox to let me continue using it?

The website may try to fallback to TLS 1.0 in a way that is no longer allowed in current releases or may be using a deprecated cipher suite.
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar and use its search bar to locate this pref:
*security.tls.insecure_fallback_hosts
You can double-click the line to modify the pref and add the full domain (webmail3.networksolutionsemail.com) to the value of this pref.
If there are already websites (domains) in this list then add a comma and the new domain (no spaces).
There should only be domains separated by a comma in the Value column (example.com,www.example.com).
You may have to add more domains if there are still problems.
If this helps then you can contact this website and ask them to look into this and update their security.

Contact the seller and either get it working or demand a refund.
As an aside, I would NEVER buy computing hardware on eBay (or other sites like that).

PDF Secure block copying/modify of only a section

I am trying to take a pdf document that is scanned in and secure it so that it cannot be modified.
What has been requested is that the entire document be made so that it cannot be modified. As for copying they would like most of the document to be able to be copied; however they dont want things like signatures to be copied.
Is this possible or can you only set policies on the entire document and not sections or pages of the document?

Sophos Endpoint security: Block all websites except one

I've been trying to find out how to block all websites except one, in an end user, by creating a policy in the Sophos Enterprise Console. I can see an option - Full web control but it requires an appliance. My question is, it is possible block all websites except one with Sophos? I appreciate if anybody knows, and can tell me how. I have downloaded the trial version of Sophos. If it's possible, I'll try Sophos ES for a year, for the end users and servers.

Windows Security blocks download of Flash 10.x

I was having trouble installing Adobe Flash 10.x plugin for Safari/Firefox under Windows XP. A popup Windows Security window kept appearing during the Adobe download. It's not the antivirus/firewall/Control Panel>Security Center stopping the download: it's the security settings in IE! Lower the security settings in Internet Explorer briefly for the Internet zone or place www.adobe.com in trusted sites, and see if that clears it for the download.
