You should have been syncing your contacts to your computer regularly and importing all pics to your computer regulalry ( as with ay digital camera).
Have you failed to do this?

how do i save my photos and contacts from my i pad 2to my computer as my i pad has frozen out

Try to unfreeze it by doing a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

Well, the obvious advice is to restore your mac's backup to the new drive - I assume you've been using Time Machine.
If you haven't been backing up the mac, then ...
For photos, sync the iphone to the mac vis iTunes/USB and get the photos back into iPhone on the mac.  Getting back the itunes is another problem.  You can look for mac apps that read an iOS device and copy songs to the mac.  But that won't get back all the other information that iTunes used to have.  Again, only a backup would restore all that data.  As for purchased items from the iTunes store, use the mac and connect to the store via itunes and check the purchased tab or link.  There you can redownload all purchased music and other items.

It does not magically appear in a new place.  It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, is there a way to get it all back?

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?

If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

  • HT201302 I have an iPod touch, and want to transfer all my photos (taken over the last year) to my Windows 8 PC, how can I do this?

I believe it's 4th gen - it does have a camera (hence all the photos).
I don't want to update it to the latest iOS since I'm concerned it will slow it down too much, but it is running 5.1 I believe.
I have a Windows 8 PC and have just installed iTunes, and iCloud panel. Photostream doesn't seem to import old photos, though I've tried this route. I can't find the "enable disk use" button in the new iTunes, and when I try and open the iPod through the start menu I just find an empty DCIM folder.
Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

On Windows, the drivers responsible for recognizing an iOS device as a camera are built into the Windows operating system. The steps below may help identify a driver-installation issue and resolve it by reinstalling these drivers. Before starting, find out if you have Windows 7 N edition. If so, see the additional information section below for a required Media Pack to recognize cameras.
From the "Unable to import photos" page.
Does Windows 8 not have these drivers? Is there a fix?

  • I want to delete all my photos and songs without reformatting

I've started a synch with my computer which I had to abort now I want to clear all the partially downloaded songs and photos and start again. Can I delete all these items without performing a total reset or having to delete them individually?

To prepare a Mac for Sale.
If you have Downloaded and Upgraded to Lion See...
Here is an excerpt of the SLA; the Lion license (purchased from MAS) is NOT transferable. The SLA is quite clear:
    B. If you obtained your license to the Apple Software from the Mac App Store or on Apple-branded physical media, it is not transferable. If you sell your Apple-branded hardware to athird party, you must remove the Apple Software from the Apple-branded hardware beforedoing so, and you may restore your system to the version of the Apple operating systemsoftware that originally came with your Apple hardware (the “Original Apple OS”) andpermanently transfer the Original Apple OS together with your Apple hardware, provided that:(i) the transfer must include all of the Original Apple OS, including all its component parts, printed materials and its license; (ii) you do not retain any copies of the Original Apple OS, fullor partial, including copies stored on a computer or other storage device; and (iii) the partyreceiving the Original Apple OS reads and agrees to accept the terms and conditions of theOriginal Apple OS license.
    Now Proceed...
Boot from the original OS installer disk and do an Erase & Install.
When the Mac reboots into Mac Setup Assistant Quit and shut it down.
When the New Owner Boots it up it's a brand new Mac... just like when you got it.
( The Original Install Disc(s) should also be included with the sale )

  • Selling my iMac G5 but want to delete all my documents first

I have bought a new intel iMac & will sell my old iMac G5 on eBay. I want to restore it to its original software making sure that all my personal stuff is erased permanently. What is the correct way to do it?

    Miriam's suggestion is excellent.
When I part with a Mac I take it a step further. I suggest selecting the Security Options (Disk Utility) and choosing the 7-times write over option. There's also a 35x option.
Here's the Disk Utility Help page for "Security Options":
You can securely erase a disk to make sure the confidential information it contains cannot be recovered.
Usually when erasing a disk, Disk Utility does not erase the files' data. It erases just the information used to access the files. Many commonly available disk recovery applications can easily recover that data. When securely erasing a disk, Disk Utility writes over the erased files' data, so it can never be recovered. You can choose to write over the data once, 7 times, or 35 times. Writing data over the disk 7 or 35 times is more secure than writing over it once, but takes longer.
In Disk Utility, select the disk you want to erase and click Erase.
Specify a volume format and name for the disk.
Click Security Options and choose to write over the disk once, 7 times, or 35 times. Click OK.
    Click Erase.
Writing data over the disk 7 times meets the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) 5220-22-M standard for securely erasing magnetic media.
If you select your startup disk, the buttons are dimmed because you can't erase your startup disk. To erase your computer's startup disk, you must start up from another disk, such as your Mac OS X Install disc.

In that case you'll have to use a 3rd party software to get everything off of your phone and onto your computer.  Google: iPad/iPhone/iPod to Computer Transfer.  You have to pay for it but it's really worth it.  You get free updates for life.  I've used it several times.

I am going to purchse a new 27in iMac. I have a 21 inch single core intel chip iMac purchased in 2006.  I want to transfer my music from iTunes (3600 songs) and my photos from iPhoto (28000).  Can this be done without using an external hard drive? I backed up all my songs from iTunes but I have yet to understand how they show up on the hard drive. Before you all criticize me, I am a 72 year old lady who is limited in my ability to understand technical data but have been able to use a computer for some time now.

To get photos taken by or saved to the iPod to the computer see:

    Hi
Please describe How You go from PPT to iDVD. Via iMovie ?
If so - then convert Your .wma file to .aiff (same kHz) and use this in iMovie instead. (no .mp3 either)
