SEM-CPM-BSC - Score always 0

Hello,
we are building a CPM. We have inserted prerspectives, strategies, objectives, measures... We have leveled the "Status & score" with values. But when we are looking in the graphics, the score always is 0.
Where can I convert that 0 to another value???? the values we have in the "Status & score"?

you have to make the "Formula Result Score Assignement" --> then it should work.

Hello,
I have seen the help.sap.com that helps me how to put a defined BI (but only one BI).
Design -> Default BW System
Design -> Access to SAP BW
Design -> RFC Destination for Project System
But what we have is 3 BI systems. Each one with one module (HHRR, FI, SD). We want to join those BI modules into the SEM CPM. But I don't see how to put those 3 external BI in my CPM.
Please help me...

There're several ways:
1.- Create remote Cubes where you get your queries. Then once the SEM system you will have a Cube that really is a "remote" cube in another system. This will also help by creating a MultiCube, related to the cubes created before...this way you have a big datamart (really a knowledge mart;-) ) that has all of the data/information related in one view.
2.- In the local BW system, you may create local InfoProviders that are being fed by remote BW systems as InfoSources. (You'll have to create the InfoSources and copy the data loads in the local BW System)

Mass download of scorecards (SEM-CPM-BSC)

Hello everybody,
I am facing the following problem:
We have about 100 scorecards and all of them have to be downloaded with program UMB_OFFLINE_DOWNLOAD every quarter.
How can I use variables to determine the time conditions?
How can I use the same target directory for more than one scorecard?

SEM CPM BSC - Assessment entry

I have a Balanced Scorecard defined in SEM.
The users can entry "assessments" each month for each measure.
Something happened, and right now it is not possible to enter "assessments" through the web interface (transaction UMB_LAUNCHPAD_WEB) of the balanced scorecard.
The assessments can only be entered through the GUI SAP using transaction UMB_PRES1.
The users used to enter the assessments through the web interfase, but now this feature is disabled (The button "assessment" dissappear), maybe someone change something that i don't know.
Please help me in order to enable the entering of "assessments" through the web as it is possible now through the SAP GUI way.

Hello,
you should check the authorizations. Nobody from the users is able to create an assessment in the WEB-presentation? Furtheron if you are not the owner of the measure in the scorecard in the selected period, you are not able to create an assessment. I think, you should check the assignment of the owners in your scorecards.

SEM CPM BSC Value Field with AGGREGATION is working wrong

Hi everyone
We have a balanced scorecard defined and working fine until now.
Since a week, the value fields with "aggregation" (accummulated each month) is showing the correct value for the periods 2 -12, but the Period 1 is showing the value of the last period. For example:
ValueField 1: Is a value field common
ValueField 2: Is with aggregation (accummulated).
                     January February March
Value Field 1: 10           20          30
Value Field 2 : 60          30          60
(with Aggregation)
As you can see, the first period is the same as the last period using aggregation.
I have checked the time variables, and the value fields and everything looks ok.
Can anyone help me in order to solve this problem.

SEM CPM BSC - add link in measure detail through UMB_LAUNCHPAD_WEB

Hello,
I have problem with adding link to the document in detail of measure through UMB_LAUNCHPAD_WEB. In detail of measure there is pushbutton Documents and Links. I want to write http:// ..... to the path but system change it to the file:
http.... In another system there is no problem and http:// is functional link.
Is there any customizations for this settings ??

SEM-CPM Activating Strategy Template

Hello All
After activating a Strategy Template in SEM-CPM version 6 transaction UMB_ST_VIEW when viewing the result in the Measure Catalog I have greyed out Business Content Measures showing they are active but the activated measures do not beolong to a measure catalog. The system wont allow me to assign them to my own personal catalog and I cannot deactivate them to allow drag and drop. Can anyone please help me with this problem.

Balanced Score Card has to be configured as follows:
First You have to Define Strategy
For Example Strategy : Revenue Growth
For this particular strategy u can have 4 perspectives
1. Financial Perspective
2. Customers Perspective
3. Internal Process
4. Learning & Growth
For Financial Perspective: You can have different Objectivees
eg for objectives:1. New Revenue Sources
2. Increase Profitablilty thru Premium Brands
Next For each objective u can have measures and initiatives
For eg: for increase Profitablity thru Premium Brands
Measures: Profit, Revenues
Initiatives: Allocate Budget For Advertisement , Promotinal Activity etc.
So Overall the sequence will be First : Strategy
and For Each Strategy u will have different Perspectives and for each perspective different objectives and for each objectives u will assign different measures and initiatives.
Objective will pertain to repective perspective only.
For each initiative u hv to assign respective incharge and budget to be alloted.
Next u hv to create value fields and assign Actual, Plan and Target values
For score calculation u need to define Formula: and select the formula id for eg: a/b
and give a=actual and b=plan then u hv to assign table
next u hv to select graphics also
then u sav ur BSC.

CPM-BSC - Java Application Error in BI 7.0. - CauseEffectApplet Not found

We have recently migrated from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0.
We are making tests in our test system and we found an error executing a BSC via web.
Trying to execute the balanced scorecard via web, with the UMB_LAUNCHPAD_WEB transaction, when you select an scorecard to view the cause effect chain, the java application doesn´t load and you get the next error in the internet explorer:
- CauseEffectApplet notinited.
If you check the Java console the next error appears:
- class com.sap.sem.cpm.causeeffect.CauseEffectApplet.class not found.
Anybody knows how to solve this problem?

The services are tested in TA SICF and they work in SICF testing just up to the applet exception.
TA ST22 showed me the exception in the missing J2EECONNECTOR . I resolved that in SM59. So now I get no more exeption message in
ST22. But com.sap.sem.cpm.causeeffect.CauseEffectApplet.class is still missing. I tried to find it in the Admin Tool. But there is no entry for com.sap.sem.cpm neither in -> services -> web container nor in -> ejb container etc.
Where is this com.sap.sem.cpm.causeeffect.CauseEffectApplet.class to be found in the Admin Tool?

Best practice in implementation of SEM-CPM

Is someone have the experiance of implementing SEM-CPM using best practice. and if so, does it reduces implementation time?

We should be able to adopt the best pratices when the software finally gets integrated into netweaver.

Web Cockpit developent (SEM-CPM or VC or something else)

This question is intended for SAP Development team or Product management team. We are looking to make a strategic decision about the tool set to build BI Cockpit on the Web.
SAP has competing technologies, which can deliver the cockpit on the web and as a customer we need to make a choice that is right for at least next 3-5 years. We do not want to develop the cockpit using the technology that is not moving ahead with SAP development.
Our current environment: BW 3.5, EP 5.0 system. Plan to upgrade EP 6.0 in next 3 month.
As per my understanding, following are the tools that can be used for development of web cockpit.
1) Web Application Designer with or without any Java scripting.
2) SEM-CPM (Corporate Performance Monitor).
3) BSP (Business Server Pages) /HTMLB -
4) Visual Composer with EP.
Customers business team has seen SEM-CPM and inclined to use that. As a IT team we want to choice the right tool set.
Following are my questions:
1) SEM-CPM: Does it have good foot print at SAP Customer base? Is it good tool to develop the Cockpits as primary tool set? Is SAP developing this technology in the future? I have not seen any updated white paper or documentations in service.sap.com after 2003.
OR
2) Visual composer is the right tool. Visual composer allows the BW and Non BW Data presentation. For our purpose, all data will be in BW and BW queries will be the only source for the cockpit.
As IT team, we want to avoid using Java Script or other programming process because of the support & maintenance issues involve.
Please help and provide comment or suggestions.

SEM-CPM is not a very flexible tool. We have to live with its limitations. We cannot customise to suit client needs. There are limitations in chart types also. If customer uses excel based charts for metrics currently, check whether they are possible thro' CPM. Please also check the latest version of SEM-CPM.
I would request to considering other alternatives as suggested ike Web cockpit based on Web Application Designer with or without any Java scripting.likes or BSP (Business Server Pages) /HTMLB or VC (not worked on this).

I am new to SEM. I tried to search the forum for some documentation. Everyone referred to help.sap.com and service.sap.com/sem. In service.sap.com/sem I didn't find any documents for sem documentation. Help.sap.com doesn't have any examples.
My first task on SEM CPM is to create dashboards.

SEM-CPM-MC: Creating CPM variables

Hi,
I know this is probably not the right place to post it, but I couldnt find a better place.
I trying to create a variable in SEM-CPM-MC, but no matter what I do, I'm only able to create a runtime variable with selection type P - Variable for single value. I can select the other values, but when I save the variable SAP automatically corrects it to Singe value again. I can also create a design variable with the other types, but not a runtime variable. How do I create a variable for which you can enter an interval?
In the documentation it also says, that you should be able to create variables on a frame level. I don't see any button where I can create a variable on a frame level. I've done exactly as it says on help.sap.com, but I don't have a button to create a new variable on a frame level. How do I do that?
Any help is appreciated and will be rewarded generously :o)

yes, there are business content, sap measure catalog, measures, strategy tempates, bw infocubes, etc.
you can activate single or mass, go to sap measure catalog, e.g you can activate node 'financial measures' for mass activation or specific measure only under that catalog.
to activate infocubes etc, you can use rsa1(administrator workbench)->business content, detail steps see sap help

SEM-CPM- Strategy Creation

Hi Friends,
I work in SEM 6.0 environment and i am trying to create a strategy in SEM-CPM in transaction UMB_ST_NAV,once i enter the screen none of the icon or radio buttons work ..it doesnt allow me to create the strategy nor the exit icon takes me out of the screen. Has anyone encountered it earlier. Pls post your views.

I don't know if the solution is as easy for you but :
I did have the same problem with my frames... the problem was that (in the web version) after having selected a value, I had to click on the "V" on the bottom-right of the screen to update the graph according to my selection.
