Send Mail in Services menu
Hello all!
I am not sure if this goes here, but I finally got to writing this. My SERVICES menu (under any Application name) will NOT send an email from anywhere.
If I hilite some text in Safari & go Safari>Services>Send to... NOTHING happens.
Now I admit it's been this way since 10.4.5 or so...
About half my Services menu item work, half don't.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

PS i will also post this under OS X.4 since i think it's also an OS issue.
Yeah Mail works fine, other apps work fine,.. Nothing's been moved.. (I am REALLY good with OS X & have been a local Mac Guy for a decade or so.. and usually can figger out my problems)
I think it's something in the scripts, or coding that run the Services Menu.
Anyone know HOW the Services work? Are they apps? Applescripts? Shell Scripts? Are there links (?) to the services that could get broken?
Maybe that would help get to a solution..
Thanks,

Send mail from service desk.
Hello,
I need some advise on sending emails from within the service desk using the Email to Message Creator (Mail) feature. This doesn't seem to be working at the moment for our v4.0 Solman installation.
I have already configured SAPconnect and the SMTP gateway has been setup to allow outbound email from Solman to a mail server - I have tested this using the business workplace by sending an email to my email account and that works.
I have been review numerous notes do I need to install the WP-PI for our installation BASIS 7.00. ITS has already been configured.
Thanks and Regards,
HDear Hardeep,
The issue that you have raised is very curious. However it does not
relate directly to Solution Manager. In principle it is possible to
send an email to an external receipient from SAP System with an link to
an Business object.
Please find the following SAP Note(s) for your review:
(1) 880203 SAPconnect: sending business objects
(2) 196171 Required table entries f. workplace server system
Note 880203 is directly related to note 530932 but offers a much better
solution, if your system configuration doesn't include and ITS server.
In general: when an object link is send to an external address,
the object is converted to an URL which allows direct access to
the object/SAP system.
To generate the URL you will need to perform some customizing as has
been described in note 530932, e.g. the name of the web server, etc.
You will alos have to perform additional table customizing as per note
196171:
In addition to the names for the component systems, the workplace server
system must also have an own entry in table TBDLS that corresponds to
the entry of the respective client in table T000.
Quote //
If this data is not maintained, note 880203 offers the solution that
the message is send as normal text or html without link. So, the
recipient is still informed about the issue and can logon to the
SAP system on his prefered way, open the object and do the required
task.
So, please apply the correction from note 880203. In t-cd SCOT you can
choose on your mail server node, if the object message should be send
as text or as html. If the URL is generated within the document depends
on the customizing you did in the workplace/Url tables mentioned in
notes 530932 and 196171
UnQuote //
I hope that the above information is to your satisfaction.

[send mail for service desk]
Dear Expert!
I have install Sevice Desk on SolMan 7.0 ehp 1, my customer can create new request to SolMan with Service Desk. and we can process this message. And we can sent message of customer to SAP AG. But I need , when customers have sent message to SolMan and after message is processed, must have email is sent to customers. So they can know message have sent and processed successful. I hope, you can show me about that as soon as possible. Thank you very much
Thanks and Best Regards,
Tru HangHi
transaction type can be any one it is upto you
if you are using transaction type SLFN then goto the action profile of that transaction type normally is slfn_advanced but it is again upto requirement
you get upto that by spro scenario sp settinsgs- service desk - define action profile - assign action profile to business transactoin type
here you can choose or double click slfn to see which action profile is assign to it now
in the same actioon profile create one action to trigger mail
you can check below sap stnd guide

Hope it solv ur prb

SMTP menu not updating...can't send mail
i'm having trouble sending mail using a wireless network. at home, i recently got a new cable service provider (cox cable). i had to update my accounts info in mail by adding my ISP as the SMTP server (smtp.cox.net). Now i'm using a wireless network at work, which I have used many times before i added the cox smtp to my list. the messages won't send because a problem with the SMTP server, but when I go to the menu to select the server that used to work for my wireless network at work, only the smtp.cox comes up on the list. so i totally deleted this SMTP server, yet the message still won't send and smtp.cox still comes up as the only choice on the server list when i get the error message. is this a glitch? how can i purge my computer of this smtp server so that i can send mail when i'm not at home??
thanks for your advice! If you deleted a POP account, then all your mail stored locally in that account's mailboxes has certainly been wiped out, not just moved somewhere, and you were warned that this would happen by the following alert (Mail 2.x):
Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.
For each mail account, Mail creates a folder within ~/Library/Mail/ whose name starts with the account type (POP, IMAP, .Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. Deleting the account causes this folder and everything within it to be deleted as well.
If the POP account was configured to leave mail on the server for some time instead of removing it right away, incoming mail that's still on the server can be downloaded by setting up the account again, but keep in mind that this will only work for incoming (i.e. not sent) mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
If the messages are not on the server, and you don't have a backup, your only option is to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx (Mail 2.x) or mbox (Mail 1.x) files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten. -
Xi sender mail adapter with attachment (to Web Service w/ attachment)
Hello,
We're working on an XI scenario wherein a sender mail adapter polls an exchange server inbox for mail (with attachment)and sends the attachment to a Web Service via SOAP Adapter? Does anyone know if this is doable, and if so, how?
Thanks,
EricHi!
I think so, if you just have a single attachment to be transferred.
Use the Mail Sender Adapter and specify the MailServer URL etc...
In the Module provessor of the Mail-Adapter you have to specify the PayloadSwapBean ( -> this changes the payload - the attachment becomes the payload)
then you configure the standard XI-scenario with
SenderAgreement
Mapping if necessary
Receiver Agreement

SQL Server Reporting Services Subscriptions - Failure sending mail
Hello All,
I am having a problem with using subscriptions to send my reporting services report by email.
Getting the following error:
Failure sending mail: The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc6d. The server response was 552 Error: message too large
While browsing for other reports in the report manager(reports created by others staffs), i could find that these reports were sent by email successfully.
So not understanding why mine has a problem. logically it could be that the report is too big?
Anybody has a solution or suggestion?
Thanking you in advanceHi LenitaS,
For first question, we can check the item "IncludeLink" to embed the link in the mail. Or, embed the link the manually by putting a link in the "Comment" field. The URL should be a standard URL Access:
http://<reportserver>/reprotserver?/reportpath&rc:format=<format>
For the second question, you are right. We can follow these setps to work around the issue:
1.Create a file shared subscription, save the export to a shared folder.
2.Create a E-Mail delivery subscription, embed the file's path in the mail. We can set the file's path in "Comment" field of the E-Mail delivery. The path should be someone like this:
\\<sharedfolder>\<export report>
In this case, the exported report's name cannot be dynamic.
If there is anything unclear, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,

Sending mails without using sendmail service. Is that possible?
Hi all,
I am considerably new to Solaris.
I have a query,
Is it possible to send mails out without using sendmail service?
If so how can they be implemented in,
Solaris 7?
Solaris 8?
Solaris 9?
If it is not possible, are there any workarounds to achieve this or else this cannot be implemented at all?
It would be really great if someone could shed light on this query.Your question is a little ambiguous. However, I will try to answer it.
You need to use a program to send the email for you. On Solaris by default this is sendmail. However, it can be used in a number of modes.
1. It can be run as a daemon, listening on port 25 for new messages to be delivered to it.
This is enabled by default but is not necessary for sending email. If you wish to switch sendmail off as a service in Solaris10 then you should type 'svcadm disable svc:/network/smtp:sendmail'. If you wish to switch it off on earlier Solaris releases you will need to move/erase the startup script in either /etc/rc2.d or /etc/rc3.d.
2. It can be run in 'immediate mode' to send mail immediately.
This allows you to send a mail directly to someone. On a normally configured sendmail instance it will try to deliver the mail immediately - if the server at the other end is unavailable, the mail will be queued locally to be potentially delivered at a later date.
3. It can run in delivery only mode to attempt to send queued mail
Queued mail will not automatically get processed. Sendmail needs to run at a later date to attempt to deliver any queued mail. This can either be done via cron using 'sendmail -q' or sendmail can be left running the whole time and told to rerun the queue in given periods ie 'sendmail -q15m'
There are alternatives to sendmail for delivering mail - postfix, exim, qmail are just three examples. I would advise against trying to deliver mail without using a specific mail agent to do it. Whilst the SMTP mail protocol is pretty simple in basic use cases the protocol does get complex. There is no real downside in using an established program.

Hi All,
We have Outlook 2010 running on Terminal Services for one of our clients. Frequently users experience an error when trying to send mail. A message pops up stating the follow (sorry I cannot post pictures or links yet which would make this much easier)
"Content within this application coming from the website listed below is being blocked by Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration." About:Internet
If I try to add this to the Trusted Sites zone it tells me that I have already done so. All users are experiencing this issue. Not sure what can be done from our end to alleviate this problem. Any advice?Either remove this "About:Internet" or disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration on the terminal server:
To disable IE ESC for all users
Close all instances of Internet Explorer.
Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click
Server Manager.
If a User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue.
Under Security Summary, click Configure IE ESC.
Under Administrators, click Off (Recommended).
Under Users, click Off (Recommended).
Click OK.
Worked for me. Thanks! -
SMTP service on in oracle database to send mail directly from oracle databa
I want to send mail from my oracle database.
I have followed the steps below:
1> Run utlmail.sql & prvtmail.plb
2>set smtp_out_server parameter
3>To send mail, execute utl_mail.send(sender=>'',recipients=>'',message=>'ABC');
My concept is to provide smtp/mail server ip & port in smtp_out_server parameter's value.
But One person said that oracle database server can make itself as a smtp server. So that we can assign database server ip & port in smtp_out_server parameter's value. We have to just on the smtp service in oracle database itself. There is no requirement of smtp/mail server ip & port.Is it true? How can we do that?
In google to Add an SMTP Service, the document said in the 1st line that on the Services tab on the left, select a Process tree node (for example, the default Oracle Enterprise Gateway).
I am sorry to say that I did not find that.Anyone can help me please?
Please reply anyone.
Edited by: 979620 on Feb 6, 2013 3:20 AMHi Richa:
As you mentioned, it has been working for the last six moneth. Was there any changes before it stopped working?
Also you mentioned you were able to recieve mails from Domain user. Could you please get the Internet Headers: Open a mail from domain sender -> file ->property -> Internet Headers, send it with a mail to me:[email protected]
Meanwhile, as this is a Office 365 related issue, it is better to post your quesetion in
this forum. Thank you. -
Send mail from follow up actions for tasks in service notifications!
Dear All,
I want to send mail to the user from a follow up action in the task assigned to a service notification.
In customizing which function module I should select for follow up actions for tasks?
Thanks and Regards,
Satyajit PHi,
You can use function module QM06_FM_TASK_SEND_PAPER or QM06_FM_TASK_SEND_PAPER_ATTACH.The document is sent only after the associated notification is saved. You need to enter the function module "QM06_SEND_REPLY_STEP2" in Customizing of the action box as "FM when saving". -
