Send same stream to multiple audio outputs

Hi! I've just unsuccessfully tried to send the same output (an iTunes stream) to *headphones line out* and *usb conected speakers* (harman kardon). I've tried with "Soundflower" feature "aggregate audio devices" but I was only able to play from one single output. I also tried with *Audio Hijack pro* but with no luck, maybe because of my lack of experience with that program. Has anyone any clue about this situation? Thanks a lot!!
p.s.: I don't know if this is the right forum to post my question, moderators feel free to move it to the appropriate one.

Audio Hijack Pro will do it. Use "Sound" system preference to set output to one device you want. In Audio Hijack Pro's "Input" tab, set "Source Type" to "Application", select iTunes, click "Hijack", make sure "Mute" is off, go to the 'Effects" tab, click the top-left blank square to insert an effect, choose "Auxiliary Device Output" from "4FX Effect" and set "Device" to the other desired audio output. Use "In" gain on the effect to control its volume.

  • How to stream Logic's audio output live via internet

Hi there, I'm looking for a way to stream the audio output from Logic (or any other DAW) from one recording studio via internet to another studio… not for remote recording, just for the producer for "creative monitoring", because he's out of town… so the audio quality doesn't need to be top notch. (Talkback would e.g. be via Skype.)
First question: is there a way to do it directly within the Logic DAW, i.e. from one Logic app to the other (remote) Logic app? I.e. just a "mirror" of the audio output (as stereo) that Logic will send directly to a remote host? I.e. a built-in Logic functionality? (I couldn't find anything in the manual.)
Second question: system-wise I assume it would be possible to do it by simply routing the output channels through Soundflower or JackOSX, and then into an application like Skype, where you would have to select the respective Soundflower/JackOSX channels as input.
One problem: the whole thing shouldn't interfere with the regular recording and monitoring setup in the originating studio. So maybe it would be best to simply have an additional monitor output from the hardware console or soundcard going by audio cable into a second computer, which will use the incoming audio as Skype input.
In a similar vein: is there a way to create a second pair of stereo outs in Logic, which functions as a direct audio "mirror"? It means that I would have the main stereo out signal on channels 1 & 2 (as always), but then also have the exact same signal on output channels 3 & 4 at the same time, which I could route to the soundcard's 3&4 outputs or through Soundflower into Skype?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you, I think that answered my question. So it would go like this:
    (1) All recording tracks plus playback tracks are routed not to stereo master output, but to a pre-master bus, e.g. bus 1.
    (2) The pre-master bus (bus 1) output is then routed to stereo main out (1 & 2).
    (3) On bus 2 (aux master) I select input from bus 1 (the pre-master bus), but route aux master bus output to stereo outputs 3 & 4.
    (4) With outputs 3 & 4 I could then go directly into Skype, either on the same machine, or from the sound card 3&4 outputs into the input of a second computer running Skype.
I'll add an image in the follow-up post.

  • Want to play same stream on multiple pc's in diff rooms

I want to play the same stream or playlist at the same time on multiple PC's in different rooms.  I have computers. I have speakers. I shouldn't have to buy speakers with computers in them to make this work.  Can this be done with Spotify?

    Hello
    Welcome to the Spotify Community.
Spotify can only be streamed on one device at a time (in this case one PC)
If you try to stream on more than one, it will pause the other one.
You can add a kudo to this idea:
    https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Spotify-Connect-Multiple-Speakers-Devices/idi-p/614088
    https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/Can-I-use-Spotify-from-multiple-locations
Spotify can be installed on as many devices as you like. However, you can only stream music on one device at a time. If you begin playback on another device, the playback on your current device will be paused.

  • Faxing with Tiger.  sending same fax to multiple recipients

I have a G4 titanium notebook and just upgraded to Tiger. Under Panther, when I sent faxes, I would be able to just type the first few letters and the discription and fax number would come up and it would fax without problems. Now when I do this under Tiger, the fax number and the description will come up, but it will not fax unless I remove all of the letters from the fax number. Also, I often have to send the same fax to multiple numbers at the same time. Under Panther, it was a snap, just put all the number in the same line separated by a comma and the fax would be sent to as many numbers as possible. Under Tiger, it will only send to the first number listed. Why did they make the fax program less functional on the upgraded OS?

Are you using a Fax program within Tiger? I have been using FaxStfPro made by
Smith Micro, and now with Tiger, OS10.4.8 operating with DSL, I find i cannot send a fax unless I get a separate phone line with filter to connect to my Power Book G4. That is not an easy solution here because of wiring distance.
If a Fax program existed within Tiger that could be used even with DSL, that would solve my problem. What is Mac Fax? I have not heard of it before,
Any guidance you might provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • Multiple Audio Outputs

First off before I get to the point...
I would have submitted this through the iTunes feature request form, but it's been removed. "iTunes feedback" is now simply "what would you like to buy".
Anyway... I've got two audio outputs on my system - built in audio which goes to the internal speakers, and USB audio which goes to some better external speakers. I'd like to use the internal ones for regular stuff, and the external ones for "real" audio apps.
Most "real" audio apps are smart enough to detect external speakers, and let you select them explicitly, while non-audio apps just use the default, so it works fine...
    Except iTunes doesn't support this.
Why can't I explicity select the Audio ouput I want to use. It's not a security/copyright thing, as I can already output to the device by setting it as the default output.
iTunes should spot multiple audio out devices, and pop them up in the Computer/airtunes button.
(actually Airtunes SHOULD be a regular audio device, and then this would all work as it should, but that's a different argument, which I'm not going to win).
    Ian

You can select your sound outputs using system preferences. select sound , select device output.
or you can go into utilities and open audio midi setup and choose your system output.
    Hope this helps:)

  • Using multiple audio output devices.

Hey, does anybody know a program for assigning different audio outputs to different applications. For example, having Safari and the OS outputing to the computer speakers, while iTunes and Muse output to bluetooth speakers/headphones (non airport). Can it be done?

Sound Bunny is a nice replacement for Detour, which got lost in the move from PPC years ago. Hoever, there is a small bug with sites with audio (auto-play audio, that is) in Safari 7 (at least). They return the error below and won't load. This happen on other sites, but if it happens on the Google site as well, then something is seriously wrong. The company tech support insists: "SoundBunny will not stop any website from loading. SoundBunny is a audio controlling software and does not control which websites to load." ~ Abu; Prosoft Engineering Customer Support
Even after sending them two screenshots like this, I have gotten no response and no answer to how I might REMOVE the plugin from Safari. So while I like the program, I would be able to RECOMMEND IT if the comapny was at least responsive and recognizes that there is, in fact, an issue to be resolved.

  • Multiple audio outputs/inputs with OX Yosemite

Hi! I want to use 2 headphones (with each a microphone) at the same time to record a live radio show. However, with OX Yosemite, I can't seam to be able to select more than one output and input simultaneously. Is it possible to do that? If not, what should I do?
    Thank you!
    -Marianne

If you need only multiple destinations, then you don't need to make an aggregate device. Create a Multi-Output Device in the "Audio MIDI Setup utility" (located in the Utilities folder inside the Application folder.
Add any Audio Interface to it. You can rename it if you want and then select that device in the GarageBand Preferences as your Audio Device.
Here is an experts from my manual "GarageBand X - How it Works" where I explain the app a little bit more.
    Hope that helps

  • Multiple audio output

I need a software that will give me user interactivity. To
swap movieclip and swap sound on keyboard events
I need one pc to be able to do this. However here is the
    problem..
I can get as many movies playing as I like by fiddling around
with the stage and positioning mc's etc.(This was using flash) and
they swap and change properties etc when the relevant event occurs.
The sound is a big problem. I need to have each of these
movies with its own unique sound. So that lets say I have five
moveis each will have its own set of headphones. I will be using an
M Audio ten channel output sound card
and I need to be able to send sound seperately to each of
these headphones. That is five stereo channels.
Basically during authoring I need to be able to say play
"sound_1" on channel one of my audio interface..play "sound_2" on
channel two etc. I have been searching for a software solution to
this problem for a little while now and then remembered Director.
We used flash before and we had to mute and pan channels with
a sound object but this still only gave us two.
We cannot use a whole bunch of pc's to achieve this and
besides that just seems a cumbersome way to achieve the above.
If anyone knows if Director is cabable of doing that I would
be most gratefull to hear from them. Or even any software that will
work. If you have attempted or come across an answer to this
problem I would also be delighted to hear
    Thanks in advance
    Peter

Is there a way to choose the various sound cards on your
computer? The link you suggested only applies to Mac and I'm
    looking for something cross platform.
    I choose:
    sound = trace(_sound.soundDeviceList)
    and I just get
    -- ["DirectSound", "MacroMix", "QT3Mix"]
Can I get the actal names of the sound cards attached to the
    computer?
    Thanks!

  • Synchronize same stream to multiple users

I am creating an application where multiple people can watch a video at  the same time , but one of those people controls the playback of the  video for everyone. Furthermore, the controller is not always the same  person, it can change if someone leaves or depending on other factors.
Along with ad server integration, FMS can do that? please guide

FMIS (interactive server) is capable of this using a combination of client and server side scripting.
The idea here is that the server would play the media over a server side live stream, and the clients would subscribe to that live stream. When the "controller" changes the position of the video, a message would be sent to the server (you can use netconnection.call and a server side method on the client object) indicating the required position, and a server side method would change the position of the media on the server side stream.
As for clients of varied bandwidth, there isn't much you can do about that. During periods of high latency or packet loss for a given client, that client my lag behind other clients with better connections. What you might consider doing is having the server dispatch a message to all clients when the position of the video is changed, and have every client close and reopen the netstream. That would clear the current lag, but would not prevent it from building up again.

  • Multiple audio outputs - HDMI & Audio out

    Hi all,
This is driving me a little nuts, so any help greatly appreciated! With the new Mac Mini models, you can have audio out via HDMI or the line out. I am thinking to hook the mini up to an LCD TV/monitor via HDMI (sound on the monitor) and also to my other TV/sound system via the mini DP and audio out.
I assume when the mini turns on it'll activate both displays (if they are turned on), and from what I understand you can have two displays running. I'd only want one at a time so I'd have the other display switched off. But can the mini output audio to either both, or whichever system I am using? I've read a lot of posts but can't find a definite answer. I only want audio (and video for that matter, but can turn off other screen) to one TV at a time, but do I have to go into the OS audio settings each time I want to swap between the two?
I'm also thinking of using Plex and keeping it open at all times, just sleeping the mini when not in use. Can the mini only output to one source, requiring manual switching to the other (i.e. going from HDMI to audio out)?
    Thanks for your help!!

I would consider using a switcher for the video. And use the osx sound output selection to change the audio.

  • Sending the same data to multiple receivers.

    Hi,
In 7.1, I did a simple file-to-file scenario with mulitple receivers.I used only 1 Rcvr Det.(included multiple business components) and 1 Interface Det. without BPM and it works.I would like to know if there's any other way to send same data to multiple receivers without BPM and/or the approach used by me.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

Thanks all for your replies. I did multimapping as suggested by couple of you and it works. Since it is required to send to 7 or more systems and the no. of fields to be mapped is huge, multimapping is time-consuming. So I would like to know if there's any other approach.
@Ravi: can you please explain with more details regarding the approach suggested by you?
Can someone explain why and/or how a mapping executes multiple times if we have multiple receivers getting the same data?
And if there's any way to check(For Ex: Moni) if the mapping executed multiple times?
    Thanks in adavnce,
    Vishal

  • Editing Multiple Audio Clips From Premiere in Audition

    Hi there,
I am working with video/audio in Premiere that has frequent cuts (although the audio is derived from two files) and I need to edit all the audio files at once, rather than one by one, in Audition. I was hoping to this by nesting the audio in Premiere but I am not able to edit the nested file in Audition after this.
If anyone has any ideas of how to work with and apply the same properties to multiple audio clips from Premiere in Audition I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks...

Hi everyone, I also have a trouble with cs6. I just record 3 tracks in the early today, then when I got home, I saved as sexs file ( wrong decision). After that, I went back and try to open the file, it can't file the recording tracks. The only one thing still exist is my beat, what should I do to recovered it? thanks for helping me out of this.

  • How to chang audio-output-device(s) in Windwos 8

    Hi,
currently I’m working on an application that starts by changing the audio-output-device and ends with re-setting the old one.
On Windows XP I do this by changing the Registry-entry “Sound-Mapper” and it works quite well.
I hopefully assume it works on all Windows Systems from XP to Windows 7.
The background is that our program is supposed to play certain multi-channel sounds over an external USB-multichannel-soundcard and it should switch to that device on start. To actually play the sounds we use the AxWindowsMediaPlayer-Class
to integrate the Windows-Media-Player in our application.
However, on Windows 8, it is possible to set multiple Audio-Outputs and the Windows-Media-player has a setting to choose from them (under Options). I was unable to use the Registry-trick to switch the output-device and I could not find
a way to programmatically tell the AxWindowsMediaPlayer to choose the USB-soundcard as an output.
Is there a Way to programmatically(c#) ether change the audio-output-device(s) in Windos8 or to tell
AxWindowsMediaPlayer to use a certain device?
    Thank you.

    Hi Kristin,
I think your reply pushed me in the right direction.
The waveOutOpen-function is part of the
winmm.dll-API and I think, that API is the solution to my Problem.
Unfortunately I am stuck at this point. I tried mciSendString and mciSendComand. Both are cappable of playing sound, but I am unable to change the output Device.
This is my c# code to open a WAV-File via mciSendCommand:
    MCI_OPEN_PARMS open = new MCI_OPEN_PARMS();
    open.wDeviceID = 0;//this is somehow ignored
    open.lpstrDeviceType = Marshal.StringToHGlobalAnsi("waveaudio");
    open.lpstrElementName = Marshal.StringToHGlobalAnsi(@"test.wav");
    IntPtr ptr = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(MCI_OPEN_PARMS)));
    Marshal.StructureToPtr(open, ptr, false);
    mciSendCommand(Convert.ToUInt32(textBox2.Text),
    MCI_OPEN,
    MCI_WAIT | MCI_OPEN_TYPE | MCI_OPEN_ELEMENT,
    ptr);
Afterwards I use mciSendCommand to start the playing of the sound, which works fine, but no matter what I enter in the “open.wDeviceID”-Line, I always get sound over
    the default output.
I use waveOutGetDevCaps to get the number and kind of the output-Devices and this works fine.
    Regards, Marc

  • Audio output port moves and wont let me plug in my cable

Suddenly, when i try and put in the audio jack for my 2 speakers into my iMac it seems to not click in. When i shined a flash light at it the port it seemed to move when i plugged in the cable. This has all happened rather quickly which is making me confused. I use my iMac for gaming and never plug in cables with a heavy hand as i am young and i promised to look after this iMac. After understanding what has happened, i ask my parents what might have happened and they did not have a clue. My question is whether it is normal for the silver ring inside the port's hole usual moves and why my cable isn't clicking in.
    EDIT:
    - I have tested multiple audio output devices like speakers, earphones and headphones and it still wont click and it still moves.
    - My iMac is running with 8gb of ram, Intel Iris Pro 1GB Graphics card and 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor.
If you need any more details please request them.

Clean the lint/debris from the connector.
