Sender Mail Adapter issue

Hi All,
We are getting this error in Sender Mail adapter.
"exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.ConnectException: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation"
It is a (Lotus Notes) Mail to File scenario.
Used POP3, and gave the URL as POP:// ** .
I have tried pinging the server and getting a good response.
I have also tried the OS01 ans it returned a response : Program Terminated.
I am not sure if the POP3 port is enabled.
Are there any check points we are missing ?
Please throw some light on this as we need to solve this asap ..

Shabarish is right.
This seem a connectivity issue. Try to ping Mail server from your PI System and check pop3 port.

    Hi.
    I have faced the sane problem. My solution is to use DynamicConfigurationBean module:
    AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean     Local Enterprise Bean
    with
    parameters:
    message.interface=<Your Interface Name>
    and
    message.interfaceNamespac=<Your Interface Namespace>
    Note that last parameter name is not interfaceNamespace but interfaceNamespac .
    It would be great if anyone will explane were Default XI parameters gone and how we can get them back.

  • Error when using Variable Transport Binding in Sender Mail Adapter

    Hi,
    I am using the Sender Mail Adapter to receive an email, convert the attached tab delimited text file into xml and map it to an IDOC.
    I am using PayloadSwapBean and MessageTransformBean in order to do this, and this all works perfectly.
    I am now trying to access the Adapter Specific Message Attributes to retrieve the SHeaderFROM attribute from the message and map it to a field in the idoc.
    However when I check the "Variable Transport Binding" option in the Advanced tab of the mail adapter, the message no longer goes through to SXMB_MONI and I get the following error in the Java logs.
    Transmitting the message to endpoint http://sapserver:53500/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Error during parsing of SOAP header.
    Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Hi Luciana,
    Honestly, I cant really remember how or if it was resolved and I was just helping out on the issue, but another consultant continued with it, so unfortunately I cant be any help on this.
    Good luck!

  • Sender Mail Adapter - CC Error

    Hi,
    My scenario is Mail>XI>Proxy(R/3).
    The sender mail adapter checks the e-mail box and procces into XI.
    I'm getting the following error in the CC:
    "exception caught during processing mail message, java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException 0 > = 0"
    But, this error is only present when the client try to sent the e-mail data, If i resend the same e-mail manually it works perfectly ( Which led me to think that the CC configuration is correct ).
    I'm not ruling out any outlook issue.
    Do you guys have experiencied this kind of issue?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Satish,
                            I'm sending the same e-mail. (manually works, automatically don´t work)
                           Also, I can´t see the result of the payload because the error is in CC and only shows that error.
    Configuration CC:
    Transport Protocol: POP3
    Message Protocol: XIPAYLOAD
    URL, User,Pass...
    Encoding : base64
    Quality of service: Exactly Once
    - Any suggestions?

    Hello All,
    Iu2019m reading the blog: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step to apply in my scenario. But Iu2019m having a issue. The messages in sxmb_moni are with state waiting.
    I do the same configurations of the blog. But the message go to outbound queue (SMQ2) and have a SYSFAIL with this errror: "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible".
    Anybody have any ideia what's this?

    Stefan,
    I put just this:
    localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean    Local Enterprise Bean   TRANSFORM
    TRANSFORM    swap.keyName   payload-name
    TRANSFORM    swap.keyValue  MailAttachment-1
    The raw format of e-mails:
    --SAP_913fb6e1-6fb1-11de-9ed3-0013725ef0f0_END
    Content-ID: <payload-913d45e56fb111deb3b50013725ef0f0 at sap.com>
    Content-Type: text/xml; name="MailAttachment-1.xml"
    Content-Disposition: attachment;filename="MailAttachment-1.xml"
    Content-Description: MailAttachment-1
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?><nfeProc versao="1.10" xmlns="http://www.portalfiscal.inf.br/nfe"></nfeProc>
    SAP_913fb6e1-6fb1-11de-9ed3-0013725ef0f0_END
    But the messages in sxmb_moni still was with status Scheduled for Outbound processing and not finished.
    Do you have more any ideia?

  • Exception in XI sender mail adapter

    Hi,
    XI sender mail adapter raised the following exception when it was fetching emails from a mailbox on a MS mail server while these mails were sent from a unix system.
    Adapter-Error: exception caught during processing mail message [1]com.sap.aii.messaging.lang.com.sap.aii.messaging.lang.BinaryIndexOutOfBoundsException: Binary index out of range: -3
    However if I sent the same attachment to the same mailbox from yahoo the XI sender mail adapter can process it correctly.
    I would appreciate if somebody could share his/her expertise or experience regarding this issue.
    Many thanks.
    Zhongliang

    I dont think this has got something to do with Unix or Windows system. As per the exceptions is considered, it says that, index out of range, which can occure in cases, by the time it was about to process the next mail, it could have been deleted or moved to some other folder..

  • Security requirements on sender mail adapter

    I have set up a sender mail adapter to fetch the email with attachment from MS exchange mail server. The sender mail adapter can process the attachment well and convert it to XML format. Now I have a new requirement to determine if the email comes from a particular user. I can see the FROM field in the payload "MailMessage" But I don't know how to get the value of this field. Any idea on how to set up the message mapping? Thanks in advance.

    Before the sender mail adapter processes the attachment in the email, it need to determine the email is actaully from the business user not someone else on server. Cuz everyone can send email to the email address the mail adapter connects to, that is why this security issue comes from.
    Basically when you fetch a email with attachment, in Sxi_monitor, you can see two field in the payload, One is MailMessage and the other is MailAttachment-1. In the MailMessage, you can see all the emial header fields, such as From, To, Subject, Content etc. I need to check if the FROM field is email address we allowed. That is basic requirements. Let me knwo if you want me to explain it further.

  • Problems with sender mail adapter

    Hi XI Gurus
    We have gone through a lot of blogs and searched a lot on the XI forum on how to configure the sender mail adapter with attachments but we still can't get it working at our site. Here are the issues -
    1. When we define our data type in the IR as let's say out_email_dt with namespace "http://www.xyz.com" the mapping fails. In the monitor(SXMB_MONI) the message from the sender mail adapter comes in like this -
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Request Message Mapping
      -->
    <xim:Mail xmlns:xim="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30" encoding="quoted-printable">
      <Subject>test 10</Subject>
      <From>"Test User" <[email protected]></From>
      <To>"XI Test Account" <[email protected]></To>
      <Content_Type>text/plain;charset="us-ascii"</Content_Type>
      <Date>2007-05-08T05:34:38Z</Date>
      <Message_ID><[email protected]></Message_ID>
      <Content>This is the voice of the Mysterons=0A</Content>
      </xim:Mail>
    Question 1 - do we have to define our data type as "Mail" under the namespace "http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30".
    Question 2 - If you look at the content of  the <From>,<To>,<Message_ID> tags you will see that there is content with <> tags which is causing the message mapping to fail. Is there a way of telling XI that they are not xml tags but part of some other tags?
    2. Also the PayloadSwapBean doesn't seem to swap the payload to be the attachment.
    3. Can we use masks in the PayloadSwapBean for attachment names like "." as we don't know what the file name is going to be as we have multiple partners who will be sending emails to the same address and with different file formats.
    Thanks in advance.
    Salil

    Hi,
    >>>>Question 1 - do we have to define our data type as "Mail" under the namespace "http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30".
    do exactly as shown in my blog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    >>>>2. Also the PayloadSwapBean doesn't seem to swap the payload to be the attachment.
    do similarly as shown in my blog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
    the everything will work

  • Sender Mail Adapter consegue ler emails com HTML?

    Olá pessoal,
    Encontrei um "issue" onde estou deconfiado de uma limitação do Mail Adapter.
    Gostaria de ouvir suas opiniões.
    O cenário usa um Canal de Comunicação do tipo Mail com XIPAYLOAD em uma caixa POP3, com as seguintes variantes:
    - com ou sem Mail Package;
    - com ou sem encoding;
    - mantendo os anexos.
    Independente das variações acima o resultado do email proveniente do POP é TEXTO.
    Será que o Mail Adapter suporta mensagens HTML?
    Será que o Mail Adapter suporta multipart/alternative Content-Type?
    >Versão do PI: SAP PI 7.0 SP14
    >Mail Server: Lotus Domino 7.0.x
    []´s
    Marlo Simon.

    Marlo,
    o content type é lido a partir do MIME Header que o Cliente de email que enviou a mensagem cria.
    Em geral, mesmo colando um conteudo XML no corpo do email, se o Content Type no Header vier text, o adapter vai interpreta-lo como texto.
    Se vc sabe que o conteudo sempre vai ser um XML, existe uma maneira de forcar que o adapter sempre sete o content type como xml, atraves do parametro avançado IMail.AssumeXMLContent. Veja o help do Sender Mail Adapter:
    Advanced Mode
    To specify additional parameters in the adapter configuration, set the Advanced Mode indicator.
    Specify the additional parameter names and parameter values in the table:
    ●      For the security settings, enter values for the receiver party and receiver service here.
    ●      In the table, set the parameter IMail.AssumeXMLContent = true. The text of the message is then interpreted as XML and is copied unchanged to the mail package. If this parameter is not set, the information is copied from the content type of the MIME header. If the type specified there is application/xml or text/xml, the text of the message is copied as XML; otherwise it is copied as text.
    Abs,
    Henrique.

    Hi Gangisetty,
        SMTP is the out going server(for sending mails out) while POP3 is the in coming(receiving mails) server. So for a sender channel, you need to use the POP server details not SMTP.

  • Sender Mail Adapter - forcing content as an attachement

    Hi all,
    We are using the Sender Mail Adapter to pull emails from the inboxes of some users of an exchange server.  We use the Mail Package option.
    We have noticed that the content of the emails are by-default added as attachments when there are no real attachments to the emails.  However the content is not added as an attachment when one or more attachments are present in these emails.
    Is there a way of forcing the Sender Mail Adapter to always add the content as an attachment and keeping the other attachments as well?  and of course maintain the Mail Package message type as the main payload...?
    Many thanks,
    Aldo

    Hi Stefan,
    Thanks for your reply.  I am glad to hear that I am wrong again )
    In your opinion is it possible to force the Outlook Exchange server to add the content attachment every time?  I mean by doing some configuration on it...?
    The reason why we would like to do this is because when - in the content tag of a Mail Package message - we have MIME message parts that are of content-type text/html we are having problems in decoding the html back to a readable format.
    To do this we use the apache QuotedPrintableCodec Java class.
    This works fine when the content type of the message is just text/plain but we get an exception when we try with text/html.
    The exception we get is:
    org.apache.commons.codec.DecoderException: Invalid URL encoding: not a valid digit (radix 16): 13
    I don't know if this is because of the two character sets we have in the payload (utf-8 and iso-8859-1) or if it is for other reasons...
    If you could help me figure out how to forward any HTML email to another system in a readable format it would be great.
    Thanks for your support,
    Aldo
