Sending iPad Sync from Computer to iCloud

I tried to restore my iPad last night because I had a couple of apps that wouldn't open.  Each time I chose restore, I would get an error message that a file was corrupt and it could not restore.
I was able to clean it and get most of my apps back by using iCloud, but a lot of files were lost that I had backed up to the computer.  And each time I've plugged it in to restore those apps, it won't work.
Is there a way to send the backup from my computer to the iCloud and have it restore that way?
Thanks anyone for the help!

When syncing Contacts or Calendars between an iPhone, iPad, or an iPod touch and Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010, changes that you synced to your computer may not appear in Outlook even after the sync has been completed.Try this article to see if it works for you

  • How can I send my contacts from computer to my I phone?

    hi
how can I send my contacts from computer to my I phone?how can I send my contacts from computer to my I phone?

You are trying to sync your contacts with your iPhone?
After connecting your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable you can then configure contact sync in iTunes. Click on your iPhone in the left column then choose Info > Sync Address Book Contacts.
If this isn't working then we need more information including what type of computer you're using, what operating system, and where your contacts are stored.

I can not delete photos or albums that were sync from computer to iphone 4s. I tap edit but there is no delete icon. Help. This is my first iphone

You delete them the same way you put them there, the sync process.
Deselect the folder in itunes and sync.

Photos than came from computer will need to be uncheck on computer then do a sync to delete.
You can only delete photos from your Camera Roll directly.

If you un-check them in iTunes on the computer then sync, they should be removed from the phone but remain on the computer.
Why would you completely delete the folders on the computer instead of just moving them?

  • Restore backup from from computer vs icloud?

I updated to iOS 5 yesterday and in the process lost my entire calendar.  Before updating I backed up all data to both my computer harddrive (PC) and eventually to iCloud, but the iCloud backup was already overwritten by accident (when I was trying to restore, I connected my iPad and it automatically synched to icloud and overwrote previous backup).  I know the backup on my harddrive is still intact, so when I do a restore how can I force it to look for the backup on my harddrive vs iCloud?

Do it the old way. It still works that way.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under Devices and select Restore from backup.
You may want to turn off auto sync in iTunes before you try this. Without the iPad connected .....
On Windows - launch iTunes and from the menu at the top go to File>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones .... from syncing automatically.
On a Mac - launch iTunes and from the menu at the top go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods,
    iPhones .... from syncing automatically.
Side note - I am syncing wirelessly and the old way and I am backing up to iCloud and to my Mac. That may not be the right thing to do, but with all of the overload on the Apple servers, I still want a backup on my Mac!

  • How can I separate ipad sync from iphone sync?

When I went to sync my iPhone 5 after syncing my new iPad Air for the first time, it wanted to install my iPad apps on my iPhone, even after I unchecked the box next to install new apps.
How can I ensure that my iPad syncing is completely seprate from my iPhone syncing?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your other library/computer, or your backup copy, to your new library/computer

  • How to delete photos from iPhone 4 which have synced from computer

I believe this dilemma has been documented many times before and I have in fact had to resort to resetting my iphone to factory settings to remove the thousands of photos which were synced from my computer in the past. Today however, after many attempts, I have managed to remove all those photos, so I wanted to write this down for anyone else who finds themselves in my predicament. On my computer, I went to Windows Explorer and created a new folder and dragged it to "pictures" where there was a single photo displayed. I dragged this single photo into my new folder. I then went to iTunes and selected my iPhone and clicked on the 'photo' tab. Here I ticked the sync photos from box, selected my new folder and selected "selected folders". A new screen appears for folders and I ticked the new folder box and then the sync button on the bottom right of the screen. Voila, after many tries they have gone and I am left with my iPhone photos which I am able to delete normally if I wish. I appreciate people will have different computer operating systems etc so instructions may be different for them but I hope this technologically challenged individual may have helped one or two of you. I remain at a loss as to why Apple can't find a quick fix ie a trash can, where we can delete these photos. Cheers

If your OS detail provided is accurate, you won't be using or syncing this iPhone with your Mac.
On this iPhone, you can go to Settings > General > Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings. This will get rid of all your friend's content and settings making this iPhone truly yours.

  • My music won't sync from computer to ipod

My music( 234 songs, no videos or movies) won't sync from my computer to my ipod. This is really annoying and I had 42 songs on my ipod, knew I was missong 90 or so songs, synved it and checked my ipod...19 songs. I was so annoyed. It is not about space because the songs take up 1.18 gb and I have 1.71 gb left. Please help because I am getting to that stage where it is not about games but songs.!

Do you have any Restrictions set that would prevent sysncing those songs? Settings>General>Restrictions
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT1535 How do I do a one-way sync from computer to I-pad? Outlook Contacts only.  It has already been synced and there is bad info on I-pad that I don't want on my computer.

How do I do a one way sync from contacts in computer (Outlook), to contacts on I pad (also for I-phone)?  Contacts on I-Pad are incorrect and I do not want to add them back to my computer?
Alternatively, is there any way to delete contact groups all at once instead of one contact at a time?
    Thank you in advance...

    1. Create a new Profile.

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
    2. Then use that new Profile when you connect to Sync on the old laptop.

  • HT204053 I am having a problem connecting my ipad to my computer/Itunes/icloud.

    Hi,
I just brought a mini ipad and I am having a problem with connecting to my computer and icloud etc.
I have my router number which has been accepted into the ipad and my network numbers seemed to be accepted under the wi-fi but still I am not connected.  I keep getting a spinning little circle , letting me know that it hasn't connected yet. I went ahead to make sure if this was the problem and went to apple and put in my ID but nothing is connecting. I went to icloud and of course it tells me that I have to be connected. I don't know how to get in after all these trys. Again my wi-fi is on does it take all night for it to be accepted?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
    Thank you for responding.
    Jazzi3

It is not connecting to your wi-fi?
    How long has it been?
Give it a few minutes and see if it connects or gives you an error message.

You un-sync them by plugging the phone into the computer and changing the options for photo syncing in iTunes.

  • Updated contacts do not sync from Mac to iCloud

Updating or adding contacts in my Mac addressbook are not synced to the cloud. But if I make changes in my contacts on my iPhone or iPad, sync works perfectly and updates are reflected in my Mac addressbook. I'm running Lions on a MBP.
    Any hints much appreciated.

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
