    I'm getting classcast exception when i try to send objects from the java webstart application at the client side to a server. Its working fine if I do the same without using javaweb start. I'm using hessian client to send objects to the server.
    I've a web app that gets outlook contacts from the client machine and send those to the server. I'm sending these contacts as custom objects(OutlookContact) to the server using hessian client. But these objects are being sent to the server as String objects but not as OutlookContact objects. I don't know whats happening. Can anyone please tell me is there any setting that I need to set in the jnlp file.

  • Differences between client copy with sap_all and database copy

    What's the difference between client copy with sap_all and doing a database copy.
    I know if I do a database copy from Production to our Quality system.
    I need to install the license key
    restore the production library to the quality library
    Initialize TMS and so on.
    I know if I want to copy to our Development system. I would need to run either a remote client copy or and export/import since I cannot do a database copy because I would loose all my other clients in Development.
    My question is, if the quality systems and the production systems are on the same support packs, same kernel.
    What does a database copy give you (besides being faser) that a remote client copy or export/import of a client copy does.
    Any differences

    Hello Joe,
    If there is inconsistent Z tables between QAS and PRD, remote client copy could fail, especially when the table on PRD has longer length or more fields than the one on QAS.
    Also the source client should has no-activity during the client copy, otherwise the application data could be inconsistent. For example, some material documents are copied, but not the corresponding financial documents. (For PRD client, it could be hours between the times those tables are copied.) For database restore, it is rarely an issue.
    Best regards,

  • Send mail to exchange server with TLS

    last month I enabled an oracle wallet TDE for creating encription for TS.
    Today, development team needs to send mail to exchange server with TLS.
    So I found this procedure on oracle support Doc ID 1323140.1
    My question is, can I use the same wallet to send mails from db?
    The Oracle Database
    Or I need to implement a different type of wallet with certificate?
    Is there, in this case,  a procedure step by step?
    I have never implemented that and I'm very confused....
    Thanks in advanced

    Hi, I have implemented a new wallet with certificates (for test and i'm tryied to use this procedure:
    mailhost VARCHAR2(64) := '';
    sender VARCHAR2(64) := '[email protected]';
    recipient VARCHAR2(64) := '[email protected]';
    wallet_pwd VARCHAR2(64) := 'welcome1';
    wallet_loc VARCHAR2(64) := 'file:/etc/ORACLE/FRMSSYST/SMTP/';
    user_name VARCHAR2(64) := 'HDC021319';  -- alias for '[email protected]'
    user_pwd VARCHAR2(64) := 'password';  -- password of [email protected]
    mail_connection utl_smtp.connection;
    -- Make a secure connection using the SSL port configured with your SMTP server
    -- Note: The sample code here uses the default of 465 but check your SMTP server settings
    mail_connection := utl_smtp.open_connection(
    host => mailhost,
    port => 25,
    wallet_path => wallet_loc,
    wallet_password => wallet_pwd,
    secure_connection_before_smtp => FALSE);
    -- Call the Auth procedure to authorized a user for access to the mail server
    -- Schemes should be set appropriatelty for your mail server
    -- See the UTL_SMTP documentation for a list of constants and meanings
    UTL_SMTP.helo(mail_connection, mailhost);
    c => mail_connection,
    username => user_name,
    password => user_pwd,
    schemes => 'LOGIN');
    -- Set up and make the the basic smtp calls to send a test email
    utl_smtp.helo(mail_connection, mailhost);
    utl_smtp.mail(mail_connection, sender);
    utl_smtp.rcpt(mail_connection, recipient);
    utl_smtp.write_data(mail_connection, 'This is a test message using SSL with SMTP.' || chr(13));
    utl_smtp.write_data(mail_connection, 'This test requires an Oracle Wallet be properly configured.' || chr(13));

  • What is the difference between sales order with picking and without picking

    hi friends,
    i would like to know what is the difference between sales order with picking and without picking.

    Picking refers to preparing the right quantity and quality of goods for shipping on schedule as required by the customer.
    Once picking is configured, SAP Sd automatically generates picking lists and picking labels which can be tagged to the relevant goods. SAP can be configured to ensure that picked quantity is confirmed before goods are issued. This can be done using transaction code VSTK. In T-code VSTK, picking confirmations can be set, which ensure that goods picked for delivery are in accordance with picking slips.
    Picking thus helps in monitoring each item using the picking status. Picking is normally done in SAP SD by a shipping clerk.

  • Socket I/O : mismatching object/text between client/server

    Suppose I'm listening on a socket for an object ...and I'm doing a ObjectInputStream.readObject() on it, but my client just opens an OutputStream and sends me text instead of an object (or vice-versa: Client sends object but server listens for text)? Is there a way of trapping such an error gracefully?

    I'm not sure what error checking you think you need to do.
    You will receive what was sent. TCP/IP guarantees that, and if it fails, you'll get an exception. I'm sure ejp can clear up my slop here. :-)
    Once one application has received what the other has sent, it's up to it to validate it however appropriate. It doesn't matter if it's a String or an Object graph. If it's a String, you'll have to make sure it's in a valid format for whatever your protocol is. If it's an Object graph, you'll have to make sure that all the fields have valid values. The two tasks are essentially equivalent. Which one is easier comes down to what you're sending, and the complexity the protocol and its validation rules, which are ultimately driven by your business requirements.

  • Accessing MS Sql Server with Java classes - problem connecting to socket

    I found an example at this location which uses java classes to connected to MS Sql Server.,289483,sid3_gci1065992,00.html
    --bummer - it is a login location - so I will include the article
    Anyway, the example is using Websphere, but I am still on Jbuilder (will get wsad soon). So I planted the classes from the example in
    C:\Borland\JBuilder\jkd1.4\jre\lib\ext\...the classes
    Then I copied the code from the example to my jpx project and got an error that it could not connect to the socket. The only thing I changed in the code was the connection string:
    --original string from example:
    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://1433", "");
    I was getting an error with the 2 argument version of DriverManager - and the second argument here was empty (properties argument). Here was my connection string:
    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://Myserver:1433;User=sa;Password=");
    I am only using the 1 argument version of DriverManager. Note that the password=" is blank because my RnD workstation is standalone - no one accesses the sql server except me - so no password. I also left out the last semicolon I noticed. Any suggestions appreciated how I could fix this.

    Sample code: Accessing MS SQL Server database from the iSeries

    Nowadays with the help of Java the iSeries can be integrated with other databases quite easy. This tip shows you how. The code included here uses the free Microsoft driver that can be downloaded from here. (SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 3)
    If your SQL server does not include the Northwind Sample Database you can find it here.
    The download contains the following files:
    Those files needs to be copied to the iSeries directories (/home/r_eitan/ExternalJARs).
    Here's the directory structure (on the iSeries) for this sample:
    /home/r_eitan/ExternalJARs - Microsoft files (msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar,msutil.jar)
    /home/r_eitan/JdbcTest02 - My code (,Main.class)
    The Java code
    import java.sql.*;
    class Main {
    * Connect to Microsoft SQL server and download file northWind.products as tab
    * seperated file. (products.txt)
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    try {
    PrintStream outPut = new PrintStream(new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("products.txt")));
    //Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://1433", "");
    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://Myserver:1433;User=sa;Password=");
    System.out.println("Connection Done");
    String sqlCmdString = "select * from products";
    Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
    ResultSet resultSet = statement.executeQuery(sqlCmdString);
    ResultSetMetaData resultSetMetaData = resultSet.getMetaData();
    int columnCount = resultSetMetaData.getColumnCount();
    // Iterate throught the rows in resultSet and
    // output the columns for each row.
    while ( {
    for (int index = 1; index <=columnCount; ++index)
    String value;
    case 2 :
    case 3 :
    value = resultSet.getString(index);
    default :
    value = """ + resultSet.getString(index) + """;
    outPut.print(value + (index < columnCount ? "t" : ""));
    catch (SQLException exception)
    catch (Exception exception)

    My guess is that the server's host name isn't right. It necessarily (or even usually) the "windows name" of the computer. Try with the numeric IP address instead (type "ipconfig" to see it).
    First aid check list for "connection refused":
    - Check host name in connect string.
    - Check port number in connect string.
    - Try numeric IP address of server host in connect string, in case name server is hosed.
    - Are there any firewalls between client and server blocking the port.
    - Check that the db server is running.
    - Check that the db server is listening to the port. On the server, try: "telnet localhost the-port-number". Or "netstat -an", there should be a listening entry for the port.
    - Try "telnet serverhost the-port-number" from the client, to see if firewalls are blocking it.
    - If "telnet" fails: try it with the numeric ip address.
    - If "telnet" fails: does it fail immediately or after an obvious timeout? How long is the timeout?
    - Does the server respond to "ping serverhost" or "telnet serverhost" or "ssh serverhost"?

  • Sending messages between clients

    I want to make small instant messenger,like yahoo.I have made a server which accept connection from different client & send online user list to each and every client connected to the server.
    But now i have to send messages between the clients(chatting).
    This can be do either through server or allow server establishing connection betwwen two client & allow them to continue chatting session.But i am not able to figure out how i do either of the things using socket programming.
    Please help me ,to establish chatting session between the clients.
    Thank you for replies

    Yes, It should be Non public to Other client but not to server.
    Suppose client1 want to send message to client2 then it send message to server,then server passes this message to client2.
    Now as client2 got the it send some reply to client1 which
    is also reach to client1 through server.But I have problem ,as how
    does client2 knows to which client he has send message as no of clients are connected to the server & more then one client has send message to client2.
    Basically I have problem in sending reply to a message send by the different client connected to the server.
    Thank You for reply

  • ISM-SRE-300 don´t allow send data between clients and pc in LAN

    I have an ISM-SRE-300 on cisco 1941 does not allow sending of data between clients attached to an AP wired to PC Networking.
    LAN CLIENT= VLAN 20 /24
    INT G 0/0.20 = IP UNNUMBERED VLAN 20
    INT VLAN 1 = /24
    INT VLAN 20 = /24
    VLAN 20      VLAN=20  IP= /24 D.G.

    Just to be clear, this posting is NOT asking for help. This is a posting to help those with the HARDWARE side of the configuration. This is what I just finished doing in my lab for testing. Worked great. DHCP, WLAN Advertising, etc. I now have to go on to the next harder steps of really combing through the WLC configuration, applying our standard template configurations for our Routers/Switches, applying dual and tertiary redundancy with regards to routing, DHCP via MICROSOFT and not using a switch, and so on.
    This was just meant to help those who don't have a lot of experience configuring the router switch environment. Sorry if I confused any one.

  • VPN Site-to-Site or VPN Client Server with Cisco IP Phone 8941 and 8945

    Hi everyone,
    I decide to deploy a CUCM (BE6K platform), SX20, and IP Phone 8941/8945 on Head Office and Cisco SX10 and IP Phone 8941/8945 for branch offices (actually 9 branch offices).
    The connection will use internet connection for HO and each branch offices.
    And the IT guy want to use kind a VPN client server or VPN site-to-site for the connection through internet,
    what kind of VPN client server or VPN site-to-site that recommended for this deployment?
    and what type of Cisco router that support that kind of VPN (the cheapest one will be great)?
    So the SX10 and IP Phone 8941/8945 in branch offices can work properly through internet connection?
    please advise

    Hi Leo,
    technically, the ipsec users will not use up any premium license seats, so if you have 10 ipsec users connecting first, the premium seats are still free and so you can then still have 10 phones/anyconnect users connect.
    However, the 250 you mention is the global platform limit, so it refers to the sum of premium and non-premium connections. Or in other words, you can have 240 ipsec users and 10 phones,  but not 250 ipsec users and 10 phones.
    If 250 ipsec users and 10 phones would try to connect, it would be first-in, first-served, e.g. you could have 248 ipsec users and 2 phones connected.
    Note: since you have Essentials disabled I'm assuming you are referring to the legacy "Cisco vpnclient" (IKEv1 client) which does not require any license on the ASA. But for the benefit of others reading this thread: if  you do have Anyconnect clients (using SSL or IPsec/IKEv2) for which you currently have an Essentials license, then note that the Essentials and Premium license cannot co-exist. So for e.g. 240 Anyconnect users and no phones, you can use Essentials. For 240 Anyconnect users and 10 phones, you need a 250-seat Premium license (and a vpn phone license).

  • How to set VPN server with static IP without DHCP on

    I set up a new Mac mini server with OS X 10.9.1 and Server App 3.0.1
    My ISP gave me a static bublic IP address.
    I have on:
    - web server
    - mail server
    - DNS server
    without using DHCP, but now i want to set up L2TP/IPSec VPN server and it requires that i give start IP address of the VPN server.
    Can i use VPN server w/out DHCP server on?
    If yes, how?
    If not, when i turn on the DHCP server, what i have to do with web, mail servers?

    To run a public VPN server, you need to do the following:
    1. Give the gateway either a static external address or a dynamic DNS name. The latter must be a DNS record on a public DNS registrar, not on the server itself. Also in the latter case, you must run a background process to keep the DNS record up to date when your IP address changes.
    2. Give the VPN server a static address on the local network, and a hostname that is not in the top-level domain "local" (which is reserved for Bonjour.)
    3. Forward external UDP ports 500, 1701, and 4500 (for L2TP) and TCP port 1723 (for PPTP) to the corresponding ports on the VPN server.
    If your router is an Apple device, select the Network tab in AirPort Utility and click Network Options. In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
    Allow incoming IPSec authentication
    if it's not already checked, and save the change.
    With a third-party router, there may be a similar setting.
    4. Configure any firewall in use to pass this traffic.
