Sendmail issues

Hello all,
I have Apache, PHP, MySQL and phpMyAdmin set up and running well on my iMac (10.5.4) development computer. I am trying to use the mail(); feature in PHP but I do not think everything is configured properly and am looking for some help. I have this simple script:
<?php
//phpinfo();
$to = "[email protected]";
$subject = "Hi!";
$body= "Hi. \n\nHow are you?";
if (mail($to, $subject, $body)) {
echo ("Message Sent.");
} else {
echo ("Nope");
?>
This is sitting on my testing Virtual Host. I receive the Message Sent part but I never receive an email to my account. Looking through the log files (/var/log/mail), I see a lot of connection refused issues. Here are a couple of lines from the log:
Aug 28 12:29:27 Malachai postfix/smtp[2888]: connect to mx00.1and1.com[74.208.5.3]: Connection refused (port 25)
Aug 28 12:29:27 Malachai postfix/smtp[2888]: 365B8117403: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=32, delays=0.05/0.08/32/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to mx00.1and1.com[74.208.5.3]: Connection refused)
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?
Thanks,
Clay

  • Sendmail issue on Solaris 10 system...

    I have two systems running Solaris 10 that are having sendmail issues. If mail messages like the one below gets bounced back or if someone replies to it, the message will go to [email protected], and that should not happen. I believe I configured these systems the same way as the others and they seem to be fine. I have reconfigured the sendmail on the problems systems and I am still seeing messages going to [email protected] Below is what our reports should be sending to us and below that is what we should not be sending. How do I fix this problem? Can someone help, please. Thanks.

    Below is an example of what I have been seeing. If you look at "To", you will see where the problem is..."relay" should not be there. The host name should not be there either as the masquerading configuration is set up. Something is causing "relay" to appear and I cant seem to find what it is.

  • Php sendmail issue

    Has anyone been able to get php sendmail to work on Yosemite? If so is there any complete documentation or hey how about a script to fix it. That should have been part of Server app.

    Hah, lol, my bad, didn't think about that. Worked when I did.

  • SENDmail issue to Lotus Notes Reciever

    Hi All,
    The SENDmail function of SAP has been working great in the PROD system. However, there was a problem regarding the Lotus Notes side.
    The reciever in the Lotus Notes experienced an error stated as : 'Sorry, an uncorrectable error has occured. Invalid pool free chain. Press ENTER to abort application.'
    The SENDmail step is forwarded to the Lotus Notes using Auto Forwarding.
    I also configured an Extended Notification for workitems. But this excludes the SENDmail step ( textmail ).
    Does SAP usea java applet or some sort for this? And what is that applet, if there is?
    Thanks guys!
    Please guide me on this.
    Very much pleased with your suggestions,
    Reymar

    Hi Dheepak,
    I'm also sure that this is not an error in the SAP side. However, I am also involved in pointing out the cause of the error in the Lotus Notes side.
    It is expected that the Text Mail can be read in the Lotus Notes email client. I also tried to forward  the SAPmail (text mail) in MS Outlook and it worked fine. There seems to be a problem in the employee's Lotus Notes mail.
    However, the workitem sending in Lotus Notes (with links) works fine. It means, the Lotus Notes and SAP Workflow has been properly connected.
    The only error that occured was the error I stated above. I'm sure that this may involve Lotus Notes user settings. I hope those people who know SAP as well as Lotus Notes may help me on this.
    P.S. DUET is not used in this config. The SAP - Lotus Notes connection was configured using Extended Notification.

    Reymar

  • Developer Toolbox SendMail issue

    Hi all
    I need to show the name of a chosen option that is from a
    dynamically generated dropdown in an input form.
    These input details are emailed.
    All this works but I get the integer value of the foreign key
    not the name
    I understand the I need to set a new recordset filtered by
    the posted value from the form but for the life of me I cannot get
    the name from the foreign keyed table to show in the received
    email???
    Can someone explain how to do this please as its driving me
    potty!

    Is the form posting back to the server or is the submit
    button set to send the e-mail? If your posting back to the server,
    you can making a simple page where the body content is what you
    want in the e-mail.
    That should make it easier to debug. Once you have the page
    generating the text you want, if should be easy to get the e-mail
    to use the same text.
    Hope the helps,
    Chris

  • Unable to add a device (e.g. /dev/cua0) to a non-global zone

    Hi,
    I've installed solaris 10u4 on a x86 machine with the latest patches, installed with the smpatch utility
    The history:
    I've installed solaris 10u3 without any patches, a quite minimum installation; I 've created a non-global zone, added a zfs dataset, added networking, add one serial device (/dev/cua0); installed hylafax from blastwave in the created zone using the attached modem on /dev/cua0, all was working fine, except some sendmail issues. Due to issues with samba, which I needed on this machine, I've tried to update the machine, after ending up in dependency hell, due the minimum installation, I gave up. I did a fresh install of solaris 10u4 instead also with latest patches applied with the smpatch utility, the I've created a new zone and want to add the device /dev/cua0 like in the s10u3 installation, but the device doesn't appear in the non-global zone, so I've installed hylafax in the global-zone temporary.
    The question, any ideas or workarrounds to bring the async device into a non-global zone again ?
    I'm not a newbie in nix like systems (several years with BSD and GNU/Linux), but for solaris I would classify myself as a newbie ;-)
    thanks in advance.

    Hmm. If that didn't work, then it's possible you're running into a different problem.
    But I checked again and this is the one I was thinking of. Toward the bottom, some patches are referenced. I suppose they won't hurt, but I'm worried you're seeing something related to the 'cua' device rather than the general problem of device creation.

  • Newbie Setup - Fail2ban & MSMTP

    Hi Guys
    I've installed arch a couple of days ago and so far so good until today...
    I installed msmtp instead of ssmtp due to the lack of development now, that's configured and can send mail through my gmail account.  I then installed fail2ban and logwatch to monitor my ssh port for bruteforce and daily reports etc.
    When i execute the logwatch pl i'm getting unmatched errors for fail2ban:
    2013-08-27 09:38:04,530 fail2ban.jail   : INFO   Jail 'ssh-iptables' uses pyinotify
    2013-08-27 09:38:04,694 fail2ban.jail   : INFO   Initiated 'pyinotify' backend

You may want to start "fail2ban-server -f" separately, initiate it with "fail2ban-client reload" in another shell session and observe if additional informative error messages appear in the terminals.
    2013-08-27 09:57:08,192 fail2ban.server : INFO   Stopping all jails
    I'm not 100% sure what's causing this but I suspect its something to do with the sendmail issue? I've gone through the arch wiki guide for setting up fail2ban and msmtp, changing my /etc/mail.rc file to point at msmtp instead of send mail.
    Checking google and not having much luck so has anyone ever seen this before?
    Thanks in advance

  • Yahoo mail tips on iphone

    Here are tips to troubleshoot yahoo sendmail issue.
    (1) check the address field to see there is any typo. The typical typo in address is [email protected] where there is an extra "n" at the end.
    (2) please use your yahoo account name xxx to set up address as [email protected], not your yahoo alias ??? as [email protected]
    (3) if your yahoo email address is yahoo international domain, please enter full email address like [email protected] or [email protected] . The version 1.1.3 iphone allows you to enter any format yahoo address other than [email protected] .

    Well, I've also been dealing with this strange problem of being unable to make Yahoo Mail work on my iphone. I've never had any problems until last Friday 3-27-09. I changed my password, I've attempted setting up Yahoo Mail on another iphone. Symptom does not change. At first, my account would authenticate, but then when I would go in to check in Mail, message would appear saying my password was incorrect. One thing I've also noticed, and I'm wondering if these problems correlate in some way, is that my Yahoo Messenger application on my desktop computer is also exhibiting the same sign-on problem. I really think this may be a Yahoo issue. But I've been in contact with one of their support bot's. They stated on a previous email that this is a known issue with Messenger. For my Iphone problem, they just redirect me to some general mobile Yahoo website that is pretty much useless to me. I've troubleshooted this issue enough to be confident that it is more complex and that it's not me entering in the wrong password and that it is not an Iphone settings problem. I opened a new Yahoo email ID, and was able to set it up successfully on the Iphone. It seems to me that some accounts may be affect and may not be a global "Yahoo Server" problem. Any other tips or advice would help here....

  • Sendmail/Dovecot issue

    I tried to set up a mailserver on my server, and it is possible to recieve mails normally. Strangely, whenever I connect to my server via a mailclient, it does not seem to get any emails, nor can I send any. The error message
    May 25 15:47:37 thunderserver sm-mta[14374]: r4PDeNDN014241: SYSERR(root): Cannot exec /usr/bin/procmail: No such file or directory
    makes me scratch my head. procmail is intalled, has a barebone config, and the file does exist. I triple checked it. Where could be the issue that 1. the mailclient cannot get mails from my server 2. cannot send any?
    Thanks in advance

  • Sendmail & SunOne Messaging Server issue

    Hi,
    I am trying to run SunOne messaging server & sendmail on same sun box. When i run [b][b]sendmail it gives me an error message " This server is running iPlanet Internet Mail; skipping Sendmail startup." even though i have stopped all SunOne messaging services. if i do netstat -an|grep for 25 & 110 it does not show anything.
    Is it possible to run sendmail & iplanet messaging server on same box if we configue sendmail on some different port? If yes, how to configure sendmail on different port for solaris9?
    Thanks for your help.
    ---Rajeev

    Why would you want to do that?
    iMS offers sendmail compatibility, for command-line sending, as needed.
    I admit, I'm not familiar with configuring sendmail to use different ports. You'd have to look to sendmail experts for that.
    The message you get during startup is simply how we bypass the startup of sendmail when we install iMS. If you stop iMS, you should be able to start sendmail, ASSUMING that you use the re-named sendmail binary that we move to "sendmail.bak" on iMS installation.

  • Sendmail auth/ident checking issue

    Hi All,
    I have a problem sending mail to a host which seems to have sendmail configured to use Ident port (113) to check back on the mail sender. The host is Sol 9 and sendmail version is 8.13.8+Sun/8.12.9.
    My problem is that this port is not enabled on the firewalls between sender and receiver so the ident checking and hence the mail is failing and I need to turn this checking off.
    I modified sendmail.cf to include an ident timeout "O Timeout.ident=0s" which I believe is supposed to eliminate this checking yet firewall logs indicate it is still happening.
    I can telnet the server on port 25 and have dialogue with the mail server and even supposedly leave a mail though when I try to check it on the host it says there is none.
    Any advice on how to get the mail through - particularly any more sendmail.cf settings - would be greatly appreciated.
    cheers,

    Well, um, no.
    tcp_auth is never the first channel a message hits. It's only switched there after authentication happens.
    It sould like you're more interested in what the "from" is than if the user authenticates, right?
    Your messages will be hitting tcp_local first, then possibly switching to tcp_intranet, or tcp_auth
    Likely, the easiest way to do what you want is through somthing in mappings, or through a sieve filter.

  • [SOLVED] IBM Thinkpad 600E 3.6.11-1 rt73usb weird wireless issue.

    Hi guys and gals.
    I have been researching this for 3 days now. I have also asked at the #Archlinux channel but they don't seem to know the answer and I cannot seem to find anything relevant... so here goes nothing.
    I have this Belkin rt73usb card - it's connected to this SUPER OLD Thinkpad 600E machine and it's associated always with only 1 router - static IP setup - basically laptop is stationary / not moved. I had little problems with connecting it to the network at boot time but thanks to Boohbah from #Archlinux channel and a bit of research I got it to connect http://sparewotw.wordpress.com/2013/01/ … boot-time/ and to turn off power management and to keep the rate as "fixed" - works well BUT... I have a problem with it - the connection stays up - I can browse the internet from the thinkpad / I can access the sshfs share on my server (from thinkpad) and so on but after a while sshd port - 50505 in my case - goes from open into filtered and I cannot connect to it anymore. Example - rebooted thinkpad - i can connect - thinkpad was left alone for lets say sometimes 10 minutes - sometimes an hour - connection is active but I cannot ssh to the machine anymore.
    I have been running shorewall as a firewall and I said maybe it's a shorewall bug but then I ran as root shorewall clear and it didn't solved it, disabling shorewall or restarting didn't help, restarting sshd service didn't help only restarting the wlan0 service / connection re-opens the port... Any ideas?
    All I get is "No route to host" and when I nmap the port it's not open anymore... it says filtered without firewall enabled / active...
    The connecting method has nothing to do with failures as netcfg (which started connecting at boot time after adding pci=noacpi to the boot time kernel parameters) is doing the exact same thing...
    Also when powermanagement was on and the rate was not fixed the problem was still occuring...
    Connection info is available at the link mentioned above.

    Which channel do You "recommend"?
    My router is set to G-only as the card is G-only, I have been using channel 1 but I will change it to 11 and see what happens.
    I was using WPA2-Personal with AES but I will change it to WPA2-Mixed (AES + TKIP) and see if that changes anything.
    I was hoping that the upgrade of the linux-firmware (linux-firmware-20130610-1) that I have found in the repo today fixes the issue.
    Installed it and typed in:
    [root@wishthinkpad andrzejl]# iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M fixed
    [root@wishthinkpad andrzejl]# ping go
    and I have lost connection before I could even type in "ping google.com"...
    Edit: Changing router's settings got me nowhere so far Dude:
