Serious problem with xorg - keyboard and mouse locks all the time.
In the last week I've notices serious problems with xorg.
After some event, I am not sure which one, keyboard stops responding.
Mouse cursor works, but I can't click on anything.
I can't switch to text console.
But I can kill xorg with CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE.
Have you noticed something similiar?
I use xfce4, [testing] repository.

I had that a few days ago, couldn't reproduce it. I was also running xfce4. I havn't had it today and im running xfdesktop+xfce-mcs-manager+pekwm+xfce4-panel... so it may have been xfwm4.

SG-300 28P switches problem with VLAN Data and Voice, working all the time as Voice VLAN
Hi Everyone,
Thank you very much for your help in advance. I’m pulling my hair to fix the problem.
I just got the new SG-300 28P switches. My Bios ordered for me. I did not know how it runs until now... not an IOS based. I really do not know how to configure it.
I have 2 VLAN are Data and Voice.
- Data VLAN ID is 2 IP 192.168.2.X/255.255.255.0
- Voice VLAN ID is 200 IP 192.168.22.X/255.255.255.0
- I created two vlans, in switch, Data and Voice.
- On the port number 28, it is trunk by default, so I add Data vlan ID 2 tagged.
- On the port number 26, it is trunk by default, so I add Voice vlan ID 200 tagged.
- On the port number 27, I add Data vlan ID 2 tagged for Data vlan out.
- Port settings No.1
I set it up as Trunk with Data vlan 2 untagged, and 200 Tagged (voice vlan). I plugged in a phone with a pc attached. But the PC will get to the vlan 200 to get the DHCP address, but no from vlan 2. The Phone works with correct vlan ip.
- Port settings No.2
Trunk with vlan 1UP, 2T, and 200T. The phone is even worse. Would never pick up any IP from DHCP.
- Port settings No.3
Access with 200U...of course the phone will work... and the PC could not get to its own vlan. Instead, the PC got an ip from the voice vlan. Not from VLAN 2.
I have Linksys phone I’m not sure if this help.
For more information I setup in switch,
- enable voice vlan
- set the port on auto voice vlan
- enable LLDP-MED globally
- create a network policy to assign VLAN 200
- assign this network policy to the port the phone is connected to.
I hope this information help to help me to setup Data and Voice vlans, to plug the phone to work with vlan Voice 200 (IP rang 192.168.22.X), from phone to Pc and pc work as Data vlan 2 (IP rang 192.168.2.X).I just got done setting up voice VLANs on an SF 300-24P and verified working. This was working with Cisco 7900 series phones connected to a Cisco UC setup.
Here's my sample config.
Note that I edited this by hand before posting, so doing a flat out tftp restore probably won't work. However, this should give you a clue. Also, don't take this as 100% accurate or correct. I've only been working with these things for about a week, though I've worked with the older Linksys SRW switches for a couple of years. I'm a CCNP/CCDP.
VLAN 199 is my management VLAN and is the native VLAN on 802.1q trunks.
VLAN 149 is the data/computer VLAN here.
VLAN 111 is the voice/phone VLAN here.
VLAN 107 does nothing.

a few months ago I bought an imac 27 inch late 2013 .. §16GB - and flash memory) - 3,3 Ghz Intel Core 15
ever since I have continuously problems with my external HDD that disconnect all the time and cause problems in other software (Lightroom, Adobe PS CS6) ... it is not a HDD problem, because it occurs with my 3TB WD HDD (Time Machine), my 1TB WD and 1TB IOMEGA
any one have a solution? anyone dealt with this problem in the apple care program?You are still under warranty and/or have AppleCare. Call them. Let them deal w/it.

Please help. At work we have netgear and tplink. Since I updated my mini iPad and iPhone 4S with ios 7wifi drops all the time. What is the problem?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

If any of the above solutions work, please post back what solved your problem. It will help others with the same problem.

Is there a way to BULK COLLECT with FOR UPDATE and not lock ALL the rows?
Currently, we fetch a cursor on a few million rows using BULK COLLECT.
In a FORALL loop, we update the rows.
What is happening now, is that we run this procedure at the same time, and there is another session running a MERGE statement on the same table, and a DEADLOCK is created between them.
I'd like to add to the cursor the FOR UPDATE clause, but from what i've read,
it seems that this will cause ALL the rows in the cursor to become locked.
This is a problem, as the other session is running MERGE statements on the table every few seconds, and I don't want it to fail with ORA-0054 (resource busy).
What I would like to know is if there is a way, that only the rows in the
current bulk will be locked, and all the other rows will be free for updates.
To reproduce this problem:
1. Create test table:
create table TEST_TAB
ID1 VARCHAR2(20),
ID2 VARCHAR2(30),
LAST_MODIFIED DATE
2. Add rows to test table:
insert into TEST_TAB (ID1, ID2, LAST_MODIFIED)
values ('416208000770698', '336015000385349', to_date('15-11-2009 07:14:56', 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
insert into TEST_TAB (ID1, ID2, LAST_MODIFIED)
values ('208104922058401', '336015000385349', to_date('15-11-2009 07:11:15', 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
insert into TEST_TAB (ID1, ID2, LAST_MODIFIED)
values ('208104000385349', '336015000385349', to_date('15-11-2009 07:15:13', 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
3. Create test procedure:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TEST_PROC IS
TYPE id1_typ is table of TEST_TAB.ID1%TYPE;
TYPE id2_typ is table of TEST_TAB.ID2%TYPE;
id1_arr id1_typ;
id2_arr id2_typ;
CURSOR My_Crs IS
SELECT ID1, ID2
FROM TEST_TAB
WHERE ID2 = '336015000385349'
FOR UPDATE;
BEGIN
OPEN My_Crs;
LOOP
FETCH My_Crs bulk collect
INTO id1_arr, id2_arr LIMIT 1;
Forall i in 1 .. id1_arr.COUNT
UPDATE TEST_TAB
SET LAST_MODIFIED = SYSDATE
where ID2 = id2_arr(i)
and ID1 = id1_arr(i);
dbms_lock.sleep(15);
EXIT WHEN My_Crs%NOTFOUND;
END LOOP;
CLOSE My_Crs;
COMMIT;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20000,
'Test Update ' || SQLCODE || ' ' || SQLERRM);
END TEST_PROC;
4. Create another procedure to check if table rows are locked:
create or replace procedure check_record_locked(p_id in TEST_TAB.ID1%type) is
cursor c is
select 'dummy'
from TEST_TAB
WHERE ID2 = '336015000385349'
and ID1 = p_id
for update nowait;
e_resource_busy exception;
pragma exception_init(e_resource_busy, -54);
begin
open c;
close c;
dbms_output.put_line('Record ' || to_char(p_id) || ' is not locked.');
rollback;
exception
when e_resource_busy then
dbms_output.put_line('Record ' || to_char(p_id) || ' is locked.');
end check_record_locked;
5. in one session, run the procedure TEST_PROC.
6. While it's running, in another session, run this block:
begin
check_record_locked('208104922058401');
check_record_locked('416208000770698');
check_record_locked('208104000385349');
end;
7. you will see that all records are identified as locked.
Is there a way that only 1 row will be locked, and the other 2 will be unlocked?
Thanks,
Yoni.I don't have database access on weekends (look at it as a template)
suppose you
create table help_iot
(bucket number,
id1 varchar2(20),
constraint help_iot_pk primary key (bucket,id1)
organization index;not very sure about the create table syntax above.
declare
maximal_bucket number := 10000; -- will update few hundred rows at a time if you must update few million rows
the_sysdate date := sysdate;
begin
truncate table help_iot;
insert into help_iot
select ntile(maximal_bucket) over (order by id1) bucket,id1
from test_tab
where id2 = '336015000385349';
for i in 1 .. maximal_bucket
loop
select id1,id2,last_modified
from test_tab
where id2 = '336015000385349'
and id1 in (select id1
from help_iot
where bucket = i
for update of last_modified;
update test_tab
set last_modified = the_sysdate
where id2 = '336015000385349'
and id1 in (select id1
from help_iot
where bucket = i
commit;
dbms_lock.sleep(15);
end loop;
end;Regards
Etbin
introduced the_sysdate if last_modified must be the same for all updated rows

[K8N NEO3-F] Problem with USB keyboard and PS2 mouse after upgrading BIOS
Hello everyone!
I have upgraded BIOS from 1.1 to 1.4... I have Sempron 2600 (64bit) so BIOS v.1.1 did not recognise it.
The motherboard works, but after upgrading I have a small problem with my keyboard and mouse.
When I use USB keyboard my PS2 mouse doesn't work. When I connect PS2 keyboard mouse works!!!
Can you tell me what's wrong?
Thanks, bartull@
PS. Does BIOS v.1.3 recognise Sempron 64bit? Can you give me a link to it?I think that the problem may have been caused by flashing either with liveupdate or with winflash. I had the problem when i used winflash correctly (shutting down all programs, checking all the boxes to clear bootblock and cmos) but had usb keyboard connected during flash. My suggestion is to reflash with floppy to last bios version that worked using only ps2 mouse and keyboard with the following instructions:
DOS floppy flash shall be performed with :
awfl833d.exe w7030nms.180 /py /sn /wb /cc /cd /cp /f /e
(Replace biosfilename with appropriate version for Neo1/neo2 etc , switches remain the same )
After flash is complete :
TURN OFF PSU (don't restart) wait 15 seconds
Turn on again , press the power button .
Enter BIOS and load optimized defaults (NO OTHER CHANGES) , save + exit
Boot the system again with the floppy in the drive to let the DMI pool build and update itself .
If that works, then reflash to the bios you tried before with the same procedure. Once you have stable system with ps2 keyboard and mouse working, re-enter bios and enable usb and keyboard support as a lot of bios' have it disabled by default for some strange reason.
Good luck. -
Initial set up with wireless keyboard and mouse!!
My gods, I set up a mac mini with wireless keyboard and mouse. It stead fastly refused to find the brand new apple wireless mouse. I had to plug a wacom in, in the end to get anywhere. Then it would not find the keyboard, again apple wireless. It did find the keyboard but when it started the pairing just came up with no keyboards were found.
I struggled in the end and after around 10 minutes blagged the keyboard, I don't know how it just suddenly worked.
Thinking about this I had the self same problem on a wireless keyboard and mouse for an iMac as well I installed for a friend, it took ages and ages for the computer to discover the two apple devices.
Am I just unlucky or is there voodoo involved? Luckily I am a seasoned apple user so got there in the end, but if I were a switcher and the very first experience of my new mac was it could not find its own mouse, I would not be impressed.I've been using the Apple wireless mouse and keyboard with my Mac mini for about a year.
I've noticed that whenever the batteries for the two devices are running very low, they may not be recognize by the mini. Other than that, they are fine. -

Control 2 macs with 1 keyboard and mouse
I have two iMacs, 27 inch 10.7 and 24 inch with 10.6. Side by side. The two communicate wirelessly using Apple Wi fi.
I want to use one keyboard and mouse for both.
I have downloaded "synergy" on both computers, however, attempts to control both have failed.
I know that Apple screen sharing is an option, but I would prefer to use "synergy" or a similar program.
(I vaguely recall controlling both computers in the past, but cannot recall how I did it.)
Help? Control two Macs with one keyboard and mouse. That is my goal.
Thanks.Try the software Teleport from Abyssoft. http://www.abyssoft.com/software/teleport/
I just installed Teleport on Macbook Air and Macbook Pro and am now working on both with a single wireless keyboard and glidepad simply by dragging mouse from one screen to the other. -

PIAFUSER and PIAPPLUSER get locked all the time - where are they used?!
Hi guys,
well i am no basis guy but i have to do the following.
We want to use one SLD for PROD & DEV. We chose DEV SLD to be the one!
Therefore i followed Note 720717 in detailed way.
Because there is mentioned i have to change sth. in Service SLD Data Supplier i did so in PROD for giving the SLD-Adress of DEV. This was looking good, i changed, saved and restarted service.
But now the User PIAFUSER and PIAPPLUSER get locked all the time - even without trying to get SLD-Connection.
When i do SLDCHECK we also get error:
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server.
Function call returned exception code ....4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
..and it is running!
Could someone help?! We already read post and blogs the last 4 hours but nothing helped that far!

And we get some errors from CC also - e.g. when we want to get a file read:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.ConfigException: Some of the IS access information is not available. SLDAcess property may be set to true, but SLD is not available.Hi,
well i already re-checked all pwds again like given in Note 936093.
Everything runs fine that far but again, the PIAFUSER gets locked, PIAPPLUSER doesn't get locked anymore - finally.
The reason why i was coming to this error is because we need to use one SLD - i described already.
So now we wanted to check our PROD Scenarios, running a test with a FILE-CC and got following error in CC-Monitoring:
ERROR:com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.ConfigException: SLDAccess set to true, but not available.
What could cause this error else than some stuff with pwds?!
Any ideas?! i work 10 hours on this crap now
