Server file system is growing after every restart of weblogic - OBIEE 11g

Hi,
We do a backup of the our BI production server every night (OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BI1)
The process we follow is:
1. Stop BI Services
2. Weblogic (incluedes Node Manager, Weblogic and others)
After every stop of weblogic, there is a file get created under WLS_Home/instances/instance1 and the file is like core.xxxxx ( e.g. core_31176, core_19440).
My questions regarding these files are:
1. What is the use of these files?
2. Can I delete them (Depends on the answer of the above question)?
3. Is it possible to control not to create these files (if they are not useful)?
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like it is safe to remove those file's unless you need to debug any weblogic issues.
Please mark correct or helpful if answered.

  • APEX 2.1 and server  file system interaction methods

    Hello experts
I am building a web application using APEX 2.1 that would be used by a few hundred users as a secure and auditable portal to a word document file library.
The main use case is that an authenticated user will find links to documents he/she has been granted access of various levels (read only or read/write).
All the files are stored on the server file system.
I have a couple of questions:
1.some file" when placed in an HTML region source does not work. Is this normal ?
2.Will I have to import the entire file library (very large in size and number of files) into APEX so I can access them from APEX or can I simply use the simple anchor HTML tag above.
    Many thanks. Zemus.

  • Need utilities class for application server file system (i.e. unix etc)

I need to do things to directories and files on the application server.
Is there an SAP class with methods for the application server file system (i.e. unix or whatever) with functionality similiar to what is provided by the methods of CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES for the presentation server?
Is there a group of SAP functions for this task?

You may have a look at Thomas Jung article: [sdn contribution : ABAP Server Side File Access, by Thomas Jung|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/7a13f367-0401-0010-47ba-eab0b15cf31c]
Moreover, in release 7.10, it could be possible that SAP introduced input and output stream classes (to mimic java classes), so I guess there could be the ones for application server file system.

    thank you

    Carol,
TREX is a separate product. During installation and configuration of TREX you connect it to the portal. The search iViews of the portal will use the configured TREX server to do the actual search:

  • Same bugs occuring after every restart

I'm using webOS 2.1.2 on an HP Veer 4G.  Every time I restart the phone, the following bugs happen:
    1) The Voice Dial shortcut that I put on the taskbar (wave) has been removed; also, the Voice Dial shortcut that I had moved to a custom location in the Applications panel is lost and the icon is moved to the last spot.  Every time, I have to move it back to where I want it in the Applications panel and then re-add it to the taskbar (wave) area.
    2) Even though I've already gone through the entire tutorial in hopes that it would never bother me again, a Gestures Tutorial notification comes up every single time the phone starts up.  I would just like to delete this application, if possible, but I don't see a way to do it like I can with custom apps.
Has anyone else experienced these or similar issues after a restart and know of any solutions or work-arounds?  Also, is there an official place that I can report bugs to Palm/HP?  Thanks!

    Thetreoguy:
Thanks for the reply!  I'll look forward to an update for the Voice Dial app soon.
Regarding the Gesture Tutorial, you are correct that it did not finish the first time I used it.  The tutorial actually locked up on me and I had to shut it down.  I've followed it through to completion a couple of times since then, but it still pops up after every restart.
What exactly will happen if I go to Reset Options and Erase apps and data?  Will it erase my personal data that I've spent a long time adding, or just the default apps?  Once it erases the apps, how do I get them back (with the exception of the Gesture Tutorial, of course)?  If it erases all my personal data too, is there a way to back them up and copy them back to the phone and still preserve all contact information and the link to the contact photos I've added?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • 8 fonts in the trash after every restart!

    Hi.
Snow Leopard 10.6.1 is working great but I am finding 8 fonts in the trash after every restart!
ArialHB, Corsiva, Nadeem, NewPeninimMTBoldInclined, Baghdad, MshtakanRegular, NewPeninimMT, NewPeninimMTInclined.
This can't be good. Does anybody know what that means and what to do?
I see a lot of people have font-problems.
    W.W.

Your choice - Back them up to CD-R if you've a mind, but I'd pull the trigger, finish them off and get rid of them. They've ended up there for a reason.
Also, don't hesisate to perform wholesale deletion of old and/or little used fonts - be skeptical of anything that has come in from MS Office 2008, including fonts related to an Equation Editor installation.
    Good luck going forward.

  • Sticky Keys keeps turning off after every restart

the Sticky Keys option in the universal access prefs pane keeps turning off after every restart. how can i fix this?

It seems to be a common problem in the OS that when you restarts some of the settings get reset. For me it happens with the screeen dimming before sleep and the double click using 2 fingers and maybe others that I don't know about. I am hoping that its fixed in 10.4.7 which should be out within a week or so.

  • README file opens after every restart??

The hard drive in my iMac died and Apple replaced it under warranty. The new drive was loaded with OS X 10.6. I decided to migrate my user files, applications, settings from my cloned backup (SuperDuper) on my external drive rather than simply copying the backup using SD. I thought this might maintain a more pristine newly installed system. Everything seems to work well except for one aggravating phenomenon. After each restart I get an opened TextEdit "README" document that reads in part: "This README file is copied into the direcgory for GCC-only header files when fixincludes is run by the makefile for GCC.
Many of the files in this directory were automatically edited from the standard system header files by the fixincludes process............"
Why am I getting this message with startups and more importantly how do I fix this so the message does not appear?
    Thanks.
    John

    Neil,
Thanks for the help. I did find an entry for TextEdit in the User Login Items section. I don't know why or how it got there. I suppose it had something to do with using Migration Assistant to move files.

  • Timer Job job-application-server-admin-service spiking CPU after every minute

    Hi all,
I have an issue in my SP2010 Farm that all the servers spiking CPU to 100% after a minute or so. I have drilled down and found that the following timer jon is the culprit.
Timer Job job-application-server-admin-service. If I change the service running to 2 minutes (default is 1 Min) then the spikes comes after every 2 minutes.
Please suggest what I can do about this?

Was it working fine previously. If yes, what changes happened which caused this issue
    1. Check the ULS + Eventviewer logs at the time when this issue happens.
    2. Collect perflog files and execute PAL on that this will give you the complete analysis of processes and performance at that time.
    Check below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/07207109-0450-47cf-b6ee-467a58eaa887/trust-relationship-between-the-primary-domain-and-trusted-domain-failed?forum=sharepointgenerallegacy
    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:nJYnqC6ug8cJ:sharepointfraggel.blogspot.com/+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=in
    Fix the problem
Manually clear the file system cache on the local servers (fe's) on which the timer service is running (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939308)
Stop the SharePoint Timer Service in Administrative Tool/Services.
Go to the cache folder. For Windows Server 2008: Drive:\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config
Find the folder that contains the file Cache.ini
Delete all the XML configuration files in the folder so that you can verify that the folder is replaced by new XML files when the cache is rebuilt.
Open the Cache.ini file, delete all content in the file and type 1, save and exit.
    Start the SharePoint Timer service

  • 2 fonts in my trash after every restart

    Hello forum,
I've been pestered by a strange buggy sitch for weeks now, and I cannot find a solution. I looked 50 pages deep into the threads regarding the FINDER, no answers. There were a few threads on Trash issues, none close to what I'm experiencing. Although not a "mission critical" problem, it's mostly an annoyance which, to me, hints of something more serious or potentially bad.
Every time I restart - either when restarting after a BootCamp session BACK to Leopard - or when simply restarting Leopard for what ever reason - I always have two fonts in my trash can, in a "Recovered Files" folder. They delete without trouble or fuss...
One of the two fonts is always " ヒラギノ角ゴ ProN W3.otf " and the other is "AppleGothic.ttf " .
Once or twice the second font was Waldorf, Adobe Garamond, Apple Garammond, whatever... This suggests to me it has little to do with the font(s) itself.
Of note; none of these fonts were being actively used by an application I was working in (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Mail, Safari, etc.) Of course, they are in use by the system - due to the nature that they are indeed "loaded" into the OS.
In terms of what I've done to try and fix this myself, I've done the following:
    • I occasionally run AppleJack
    • I've used Apple's *Font Book* to verify all fonts and check for duplicate fonts - all dupes are turned-off.
    • I've deleted most every non-US English font typeface the system had, especially any/all of the Asian dialect fonts
Can anyone suggest a solution? Thank you in advance - I love these forums, they are always most helpful!

    Latest developments:
The problem seems to have been corrected - that's the good news. The bad? I'm not sure what exactly fixed it; this is what I did:
I ran CHKDSK from within BootCamp. Everything checked-out just fine. Of note, XP crashed from a "stable" desktop after I changed the security settings on a JPG file. I know there isn't a correlation at all here - that JPG file didn't exist when this problem began occurring weeks ago.
I think the fix was deleting some font files - not from within Font Book - but directly from the user font directory; path and fonts as follows:
    Mac HD > Users > UserName > Library > Fonts >
the following four fonts were deleted:
    MS Gothic.ttf
    MS Mincho.ttf
    MS PGothic.ttf
    MS PMincho.ttf
After several restarts - from into and out BootCamp AND into and out of a few other user accounts, returning to my main login account (running as Admin) the "Recovered Files" folder did NOT appear in the trash, of course, neither did any fonts.
Lastly, I ran OnyX and deleted (fully) the trash - it found a few items from other user accounts, deleted all of that garbage (what ever it was) before deleting the aforementioned fonts.
In retrospect, I suspect the origin my have been simply a corrupted font such that FontBook didn't catch the problematic font. It subsequently corrupted one or more of my custom font lists from within FontBook. I trashed those custom lists the other night, but the problem persisted...
So - cumulatively, something did the trick.
    Case closed for now.
