Service activity creation in SAP from MSP (Microsoft Project)

Dear All,
As we are planning to integrate SAP & MSP, I have one query regarding service activity creation in SAP from MSP.
In case of service activity in SAP we have to assign respective services also otherwise it does not get saved.So when we transfer service activity from MSP (after maintaining the respective control key in MSP ) how we will manage with all services because we can not define these service in MSP.
Apart from that we have some procurement parameters also like material group, purchasing org, price, outline agreement....we have nothing in MSP for these...so how we will manage with this.....
Please just share your valuable input to deal with this....Thanks..

I agree with you that by flexible field mapping we can do but my concern is that service activity should have services also defined in MSP because when this will come to SAP , it will ask for services & if services are not available then this will fail.

Yes it is possible.
Under settings of OPENPS use more control keys as defined in IMG contomizing.
The control key determines whether the activity is processed internally or externally.

It all depends of what you want to accomplish, but both MS Project and SAP B1 have SDK's so yes, it's possible to integrate both the applications.

Service activity creation & automatic cost element picking up

Dear All,
We are facing a peculiar problem while creating a service activity in Project creation - CJ20N (Project Builder).
1)     Created a project definition. ( say u2013 X200)
2)     Created parent WBS element.
3)     Created one Network.
4)     Assigned one service activity to the network.
5)     While assigning service master to the service activity, system is asking for a cost element. In other words, the cost element is not automatically picked up for the particular service master. Actually, while creating earlier project (say X100) & assigning service activity, system is correctly defaulting the Cost element.
6)     Here the service number which we are using is the same as used in the earlier project (X100). In X100, based on the valuation class in the service master & settings maintained in the transaction code OBYC, correct GL account is getting picked up.
7)     We can give the cost element manually. If we do this, system is giving another message u2013 u201CSystem could not determine a consumption account for service 2000000202u201D, though it is maintained for the valuation class in OBYC.
Why the cost element is not getting defaulted? Pl advice in this regard.

Check out the Network profile & Plant of of both the project
Case 1 X100   May be getting defaulted from network profile
Case2 X 200   You might be using different network profile where you would have not maintained CE.

Invoice list is basically SD configuration.

<b>Purpose</b>
The invoice list lets you create, at specified time intervals or on specific dates, a list of billing documents (invoices, credit and debit memos) to send to a particular payer.
The billing documents in the invoice list can be single or collective documents (collective invoices combine items from more than one delivery).
The standard version of the SAP R/3 System includes two types of invoice lists:
1.for invoices and debit memos
2.for credit memos
If you wish, you can process invoices, debit memos, and credit memos at the same time. The system automatically creates a separate invoice list for credit memos.
A payer may be the head office of a buying group, which pays all the invoices for goods that are shipped to individual members. The group payer takes responsibility for paying the invoice lists and then collecting payment from the individual members. In return for these services, the group payer usually earns a factoring or del credere discount.
Depending on the tax structure of the payer's country, the payer may be liable to pay taxes on factoring discounts that he earns. In Germany, for example, factoring discounts are taxed at the standard rate of 15%. During invoice list processing, you can reimburse the payer in advance for this tax liability by creating special condition records

Service Activity Creation Specific to Plants

Dear all,
We are creating new service activities in our organization, this new service activities are to be used only with a new Plant and new project,
my concern is can we restrict the service activities getting created to a specific plant?? we need that the new service activities to be made available to only one plant, ie.. service PO getting created for the new plant only can make use of this Service activities, rest of the Plant POs must be restricted using this Service activities in there PO,
it is just like creating Material master in the required plants only, can we do the same in case service activities as well??

For your specific pricing-->1st enter field SRVPOS for Activity Number in the following path:
SPRO->MM-> Purchasing u2013 >Conditions ->Define Price Determination Process->Extend Field Catalog for Condition Tables
& then you can create CONDITION TABLE ( lets say 951) with condition keys "Plant / Vendor / Service Activity"
Now assign table 951 to access sequence for service .In t.code: M/06 -assign access sequence for service to condition type for service and in t.code: M/08 -MM pricing procedure procedure ,keep condition type for service ,then create condition record in t.code: MEK1 with combination Plant / Vendor / Service Activity. In this process, you can maintaion diferent price for different plant for single Service Activity( service master).

I need to have information on the project management tool available within SAP.
Is there any project management tool like microsoft project planner available within SAP.
I heard that SAP solution manager does it. Please let me know whether it is right or not?. If correct could you please provide the relevent document or let me know how could I do that in the SAP BI 7.0 or in the solution manager.

Acrobat 8 Standard crashes when opening PDFs created from Microsoft Project 2007

Issue: Acrobat 8 Standard crashes when opening PDFs created from Microsoft Project 2007.
OS: Win XP Pro SP3
Error Message(s): None
Details: This issue happens with multiple Microsoft Project files (including new files), multiple PDF creators (included Acrobat 8 Standard) and on multiple computers. We also tried opening the PDFs in Adobe Reader 8 instead of Acrobat Standard 8. There is no record in the event log on the computers of the application crashes.

I may have a resolution now...
I clicked Tools -> Options -> View and turned off Bars and shapes in Gantt views in 3-D" on the advice of someone on a Microsoft Forum. I made three PDFs from three Microsoft Project files (that were having trouble previously) and was not able to get these PDFs to crash when zooming or changing pages. So far so good!

Hi after update Service pack 2 and December 2013 CU,Microsoft Project Server Event/Queue Services has been disable . I have manually change and start but after some time again same thing happen.
Kinldy let me know the process hwo to resolve this issue.

E-Mail rerouting is possible with an Exchange server. We use an adress [email protected] provided from the Exchangeserver. The mail is then forwarded to [email protected] to be retrieved by our CRM System for further processing. Please ask your Exchange admin again. I think he has to get wome more information about configuration possibilities.

PR creation from External / Service Activity

Hi all,
we are currently using External and Services activities.
The Service activity should generate a PR as soon as it's released whereas the External activity should never generate a PR.
I'm trying to link the "Reservation Relevance/Generation of Purchase Requisition" field with the "Control Key" :
Never create a PR <=> PS02
Create a PR from Release <=> PS04
Do you know if there is a way in Customizing do default the field depending on the Control Key? (I would like to avoid a validation rule...)

Hello,
If you never want ot generate the PR for external activity, then work is simple:
1) Change the control key PS02 in transaction OPSU and check the box "service".OR alternatively you can make new control key copying PS02 and abandon the use of original PS02 in your projects.
This will make sure that every time you are using PS02, it will always generate the service PR. Also in network profile settings(OPUU), maintain indicator "2" for Res/Pur Req.
Hope this solves your problem without using any validation !

Creation of Material from SAP VIEW using CDESK.

Hi Experts,
I have one question related to creation of Material from SAP View.
CAD file created say SM1000.prt
Create DIR in CAD View say SM1000
Scenario 1 :   Create Material in Background from CAD VIEW or SAP VIEW from cad desktop, It creates material SM1000
                           in background.
Scenario 2 : Open CDESK ( Transaction)
                        Click on OPEN,
                        Selecting the DIR created SM1000
                        Create the material in background in SAP View, it gives message " enter material number"
Why am not able to create the material from SAP view using CAD Desktop. If any modifications needs to be done in CDESK CUS to solve this please let me know.

Hi Sudharshan,
maybe the reason for this is that your CAD applications provides a special material number and the customizing in CDESK is defined to use this number. In this case the number or value can by provided from the CAD application only from the CAD View.
In the SAP view the material gets created like in MM01 for example and so mabye you have to enter a material number.

Go to the Business workflow ...then follow the below steps ...!
its kind of configuration needed in the SAP System no coding required.
Step1..go to the Business Workplace
Step2..
Access the settings by choosing SETTINGS - OFFICE SETTINGS.
Choose the automatic forwarding tab.
Here you can create new forwarding rule using the create button.you will get new window then..
Step3...
Insert your email address into the forward to field and choose External address from the drop down box.
Choose the time period of this forwarding rule. In this example want to keep this forwarding for a long time.
Step4....
If you dont want to keep copies of received SAP office mails remove the option.
Choose copy to save the values
If your email address is already maintained in your user profile you will receive a following pop up
Step5...
Now you can save the new forwarding rule and all of your SAP Office mails will be forwarded to you outlook inbox.
You can also remove the forwarding rule anytime you want.

Hi,
We almost have same issue to add users from several Active Directories.
BPC server is in Domain A. We perform to add users from Domain B. Our trusted relation between AD is Domain B approve Domain A (unidirectional).
We cannot get one user which is able to browse both AD. So we install BPC with a user which has rights to browse Domain A and we use another user in COM+ component (OsoftUSerManage) which has right to browse Domain B.
But it is not working : we encounter an issue (access denied) in web administration by adding users from Domain B.
Any idea ?
Env. : BPC 5.1 SP6
