Hopefully, this information will be of use to you. No one on this site works for your reseller, your carrier, your service center, nor BB...hence, no one here can do anything formally about your situation. If you feel you are being improperly denied service, you must escalate with the management of the service center. Also contact your reseller and/or review your original purchase documents to determine exactly what warranty service you agreed to when you made your purchase (that is when such is decided...by contract, when you purchase the device).
Cheers, and Good Luck!

  • Lenovo Service Centre - Won't Update

I recently purchased a Lenovo H50-50 i3 desktop.  When Lenovo Service Centre (LSC) starts up it tells me there is an update available.  When I confirm I want the update I get the Windows prompt that it wants to run a file, do I want to let it.  I say yes and it does nothing other than close LSC. I navigated to the folder where the .exe file was saved and tried to run it and it says it can't run the App on my PC - check with the softward publisher. Is there a fix or do I even worry about LSC.

After talking with a service person about another issue, they advised me to uninstall the old version and download directly from their support site.  When I did this I got a message about Adobe Air being required.  I hadn't done the Adobe Air update yet so presume this may have been what was preventing me from updating via the old version.  I now have the latest version.

  • Help: iPod Classic 160GB refuses to update software, nor to restore

I just purchased a 160GB iPod. I charged it, uploaded the music ( with my Macbook with OsX 10.4.11), and it works fine.
But then it was supposed to update the software to 1.2. It refuses because of "unknown reasons": error 1435.
I tried to reset it and it refused.
I tried to restore ... it starts the process but then... the Macbook ejects the ipod before the reset has started...and puts up an error message for "unknown reasons".
Does anyone know how to fix this or do i have a defective iPod?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Apple exchanged it. Thank you.

  • No phone service; Trying to update information in repair work order

The only thing on this website that works is posting this forum and reading my bill. I have no phone service since last week and opened a repair work order. I am now trying to check status and update my contact # in that request. I had to buy a cheap prepaid phone at Best Buy so we had phone service at home and would like to provide that number in the work order. All I get when trying to check status of repair is a gateway error as the proxy server cannot communicate upstream. So if a Verizon tech reads this forum please send me an email so I know what is going on. I do not have enough minutes on my pre paid phone to stay on hold for hours trying to get through to a human. I tried that all week using a phone at work.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases".  You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information.  This should be checked on a frequent basis  as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

  • Repairing permissions before and after updating software

What is the reason to repair permissions before and after updating software? This may sound like a stupid question to many of you, but I am new to computers and I am trying to learn how and why of some of the things of my PowerBook. I installed some updates without repairing permissions. Did I install some software updates the wrong way? Thank you.

This is a topic which will draw as many emphatic for and against responses as overnight shut down or not, defrag or not, optimise or not, and so on.
I agree with Neil. I believe that OS X has progressed sufficiently that repair permissions has become redundant and so I do not do it on any regular basis.
Some folk may refer you to an Apple Support Article 303602. That Article in its 4 May 2006 version, titled "Top 10 Tips to Keep Your Mac in Top Form" suggested Repair Permissions should be done "after upgrading or installing new software". The Article was however revised on 15 May 2006 to be titled "Top Tips to Keep Your Mac in Top Form" and the item on Repair Permissions [along with two other recommended maintenance tips] was removed. It is my view that the conclusion to be drawn here is that Apple no longer considers Repair Permissions to be a required maintenance procedure.
Many users have adopted a "Repair Permissions" mantra for a cure-all over several years. I dropped it sometime in 10.3.
    But, to each his own.

  • Why do I have less updated software after a repair?

About a week ago, I spilled soup on my computer, so I took it to the Apple store and they repaired it, but they had to replace everything inside it so it's like I have a new computer now. Not only does my computer feel much heavier than it did before, I have less updated software. Before, I had Lion (10.7.3) and now with this new stuff they repaired it with, I have Snow Leopard (10.6.8). Why did they do this, and is there any way I can get Lion back without having to pay for it? I'm extremely angry and I don't have money to just throw around spending on Apple's mistakes!

Are you also extremely angry at yourself, for slopping soup into your computer? If not, why not? You must have thrown quite a lot of money at that problem, which was no one's fault but your own.
Mistakes happen. If you hadn't made one first, Apple wouldn't have had a chance to make one afterward. Go back to the store and keep your anger to yourself. Explain clamly and politely that you'd like them to reinstall Lion, which was on it when you took it in. If you conduct yourself reasonably, I expect they'll oblige you.
As for the machine being heavier, that simply isn't true. There's nothing Apple could have put in it that would be any heavier than what was taken out. You're imagining the difference.

  • Help. My home button doesn't work. I've to press it several times to get it to function. The phone has 4 months. I've already update software, restarted and calibrated it. I was thinking to go to the service. Has 1 year hardware warranty. Suggestions?

There's another thread with similar problems.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2595841?start=510&tstart=0
I wouldn't suggest it though, since it may void your warrantee. Apple will replace it if you bring it in. The genius bar guys aren't too bright, well most of them. But they'll go through the usual diagnosis steps then issue you a replacement if they have them in stock.
I have to admit, Apple has one of the best replacement services that I've ever experience. If you're familiar with costco, the return/exchange process is very quick and painless.

  • Bold 9930 update software messing up roaming service

    9930 bold
    BB 9930 7.1Bundle 9219 (v7.1.0.267 ,Platform 5.1.0.230)
Got update software(Sprint or BB-dunno, not paid attention) few months ago in US. While in Canada visiting my relatives for awhile, roaming service messed up like 1X most of time not 3G(earlier software worked perfectly) While 3G on, texting hardly able to send or receive.. Want to go back last software/remove current software that messed up service.. HOW? Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

If you purchased the phone in Korea, the warranty is only valid in Korea. You can try taking it to an Apple Store but be prepared for them not to be able to help you.

  • Service centre for instant repair

    Hi
I have a minor hardware problem with my handset that at times the speaker works and at times it doesn't when I make or receive any call. I guess the speaker jack must have got some problem.
I went to the nearby service centre at Netaji Subhash Place, Pitampura, Delhi, India. But the person there told me that I have to leave the phone for almost a week as they don't open the phone there and will send it to company.
I can't work without my phone and can't afford to leave it for a week. Can somebody tell me some service centre details where I can get it repaired instantly or at max within 2 days.
I tried calling on the customer care toll free number also which was provided to me by that service centre. But nobody answers the call?
    Thanks

  • My brother purchased new ipad 4, 5 days ago and the sim tray stuck very first day. I gave it to jaipur service centre for repair and they are asking for 20000 Rs (price of ipad mini for just sim tray repair). What should i do?

    Dear All,
My brother just purchased an ipad4, 5 days ago and the very first day sim tray stuck. When i sent it to jaipur (rajasthan) service centre, they asked Rs 20,000 for repair and issuing new tray. This is the cost of new ipad mini, and they are giving me just one tray. It is also approx. half of the price of new ipad4. Even the new ipad is just 5 days old and should be repaired for free. If not free, is Rs 20,000 is fair?
Please tell me what should i do?
    Thanks!
    [email protected]

If the service center determined that the SIM socket was damaged by your brother, as would appear to be the case, and not due to a factory defect, they will charge for replacing the entire iPad, not just for the SIM tray. Apple at this time replaces the iPad for just about any problem, and charges a flat fee for doing so.
If this service center is one authorized by Apple, your brother can try calling Apple Support India at (91) 1800 4250 744 and discussing the situation with them. Ultimately, though, it is the technician's judgement as to what caused the problem, and Apple will usually take the word of the technician when it comes to determination of user-caused damage.
    Regards.
