• Waiting for the service MSExchangeMailboxAssistants to reach status Running

I have to say that the installation of Exchange Server 2013 SP1 has been an emotional experience so far. I have encountered and fixed approximately 20 errors so far and can still not complete the installation.  Errors have ranged from adding a registry
key for "Pickup" to toggling IPv6 settings etc.  The errors haven't been too bad up to now as they're clearly stated in both the setup log and event viewer.  A quick Google search usually gives a few solutions to try and eventually fix
the problem.
My recent error has been difficult to find a solution to as the setup log simply says it cannot start the "MSExchangeMailboxAssistants" service.  I have tried to start the service manually but the event log doesn't show any messages relating
to the stopping of the service.
Error:
Service 'MSExchangeMailboxAssistants' failed to reach status 'Running' on this server.
Platform:
Windows Server 2012 R2
Exchange Server 2013 SP1
Things I've tried:
Starting all Exchange services.  All are working fine.
Started MSExchangeMailboxAssistants.  Stopped immediately without an errors in event log.
Started MSExchangeMailboxAssistants.exe from command prompt.  Wouldn't start as it's a service.
Used cmdlet to increase logging level to "high" and "expert" for all 'MSExchangeMailboxAssistants' services.  Started service again and nothing logged.
Installed Operations Manager.  Nothing logged.
Manually removed Exchange from server several times and reinstalled.  Cleaned out AD, registry, files, IIS etc.  No change, same error.
Try installing with and without Malware Protection.
Checked IPv6 is enabled on all NICs.
Checked registry settings for quotes around file name.  It does contain the quotes so nothing to fix.
Checked Exchange 2013 SP1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2.  The original version wasn't but SP1 is.
I'm all out of ideas now and no error message in the logs to google.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply Exchange Shelly, I really appreciate your help.
Unfortunately, "MSExchangeTransport" failing to start was one of the many issues that I encountered during the installation of Exchange 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2.  I had already visited the website mentioned above (which was very helpful) and
the registry key is already in place.
I did double check the registry after reading your reply just in case and can confirm it's definitely there.
If I could get an error message when the MSExchangeMailboxAssistants service fails to start, I would have a fighting chance.  I've tried increasing the logging level using the cmdlet and the registry but still not seeing anything in the Event Log.

• Issues when Sharepoint Services 3.0 OS upgraded from windows server 2003 standard to windows server 2003 enterprise

In my sharepoint 2007, I have upgraded the OS from windows server 2003 standard to windows server 2003 enterprise R2 SP2. After the OS upgrade when I run the central admin it's showing this error "Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 Error 2908
error has occurred" screen shot below of the error.
Any help?

Not sure I can help.  In general MS does NOT support the upgrade of the Underlying OS without re-installing SharePoint.  Many of the prerequisites that were installed when SharePoint was installed are OS specific.  You can either contact
Product Support and see if they can provide any assistance or re-install SharePoint from scratch and re-attach/migrate all the existing databases with content into the new system on the new OS.

• Any Problem Running Office 2010 SP2 with Project Server 2010 SP1?

We are running Project Server 2010 SP1 April 2013 CU and the desktop clients have now been upgraded to SP2 October 13 CU. We are having issues with projects in local cache showing as checked out when they are not actually checked out on the server. I was
wondering if it is problematic to run the desktop client on a newer service pack than the server and if it could cause this type of issue?

Hello, Aaron.
The answer is YES, you'll probably have some issues.
I would recommend:
Downgrade clients to match Server's version
Upgrade Server to SP2+October '13 CU
And my preferred:
Upgrade Server and clients to SP2 + '14 April CU

• Tiger  installation fails-Error Message 'there areerrors while installing'

Hi there!
I have just bought a new Tiger 10.4 full version (4 cds) and tried to install CD1 but everytime, i pass the disk verifying of CD 1 , then when it installs on the HD, i get an error message saying 'there were some errors while installing to your hardrive' .... everytime i have to reboot on older version Mac OS 10.2.8
Any help highly appreciated! Thanks
Apple G4 IMAC   Mac OS X (10.2.x)   60 gb

Two things to try before trying to install Tiger. One, boot the machine with the Apple Hardware Test disk and run the extended tests. If any problems pop up, then you'll have to fix those first. Once you get a clean bill of health on the hardware, boot with the Tiger install disk, select your language, and, when the menu bar pops up, select Disk Utility->your HD, and repair the disk. If that works, then try the upgrade again.
BTW, are you upgrading a 10.2.8 backup or are trying to do a clean install?

• Re-config of ssh fails after changing Oracle Home while installing RAC

Hi,
Red Hat Linux 5
Oracle 10.2.0.1 RAC installation
While installing Oracle RAC under ORACLE user we are Configuring ssh for the first time works fine. If any changes done (Eg: i changed the home path of oracle user), then the ssh configuration will prompt for password no matter how many times you reconfigure the ssh.
I have created another OS user orclusr instead of oracle to over come this issue
Have any one came across this situation or finds a solution, please reply back.

Hi,
One of the most important reasons for building Real Application Clusters is stability.
Changing the Oracle Home, after the cluster is built is about 180 degrees counter to this philosophy.
I agree with this but we face the error while installing oracle cluster
here is my scenario:
create oracle user on both the nodes(rac1,rac2):
1) my first oracle home - /home/oraclePart of thinking these things through before proceeding is to recognize that the concept of ORACLE_HOME is not the same as the $HOME directory for the OS user who happens to be named "oracle".
Since you appear to be still in the process of building this system, I'd suggest you go back to square one while you can.
2) configure ssh on both the nodes
3) due to sapce constraint in /home mount point we changed the oracle home to /oracle
4) so my new oracle home is /oracle
5) re-configuring of ssh is working fine, no error's
6) but if i issue the below command ssg date rac2 it prompts for password why ?
Any possibility to over come this issue ?

short of a reformat, but it still fails for me at 87%. I have no ServerFolders folder to delete or rename, although I did at one point have an additional disk attached that had an old installation. possibly with ServerFolders, but I don't recall trying to
install the Essentials role with that drive attached.
I can provide the CBS log if preferred. I have been unable to find anything of use myself there.

• Error while installing Sneak preview Netweaver 2004 --SP15 on WindowsXP+SP1

hi, i'm getting a error while installing the Sneak preview NetWeaver 2004-SP15 on Windows XP + SP1.
error message: Corrupt GZip trailer
JDK version: 1.4.2_08 and 1.4.2_09
i searched this error on google and i found it's a bug of jdk1.4.2_08.(see this page:<a href="http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583">http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583</a>) it said this version can't run when the uncompressed file is 2GB or larger. and this bug was fixed after <b>jdk1.5</b>. but i noted that Sneak preview was not tested on jdk1.5.Ignore it, i uninstalled jdk1.4.2_08 and Sneak preview, then i installed jdk1.5 and reinstalled Sneak preview.Unfortunated, i got another error. The error code is <b>3018</b>.
could anyone please help me?
Regards
bo

I faced this problem while I was installation.
Following are my installation's step, is there any problem?
1.I have a new system just for installation, it is WindowsXP + SP1(2.5G memory and 2 CPU);
2.download JDk 1.4.2_09 from sun.com and installed it;
3.download Sneak preview Netweaver2004SP15 from sdn.sap.com. There are 3 files total.
      Two are NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar, the other is DeveloperStudioSP15.rar;
4.uncompressed NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar. I used winrar, it's OK.
5.start install NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar step by step according to the installation guid.
6.to this step 'SAP J2EE Engine Server Core', all are right;
7.error in the step 'Load Java Database Content';
Following are part of the log file 'jload.java.log':

I also tried jdk1.4.2_08 and I also installed in Windows2000+SP4. But I faced the same problem too.
From sun.com, I know this error is a bug of jdk. They explained that this version can't run OK
when zip-file is larger than 2G. Then I found here's a file
(name is 'NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JAR'). It's size
is 2.08G. I suppose installation can't manage it.
I tried unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'SDMKIT.JAR'.
Then I found another large file in the unziped folder(name is 'F:NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JARpackpackedRoot.jar')
, so I also unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'packedRoot.jar'.
Then I reinstalled, of course, It's no work.
Unexpectedly, I found this download link is not available on the sdn.sap.com(see this page:https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6).
It say that 'We apologize that this version is currently not available to download.'.
I guess there are any problem in this version, are there?
So, now I think I must download another version to install.
Thanks,
Bo

I am not sure but I think the problem is with the allocated shared memory size, which right now is:
<b>init.ora</b>
shared_pool_size = 67108864
<b>init<SID>.ora</b>
shared_pool_size = 90112000
shared_pool_reserved_size = 9011200
If this is the cause of the problem then how much should i increase it to? and do i need to modify the size in both files or only init<SID>.ora? Is there any SAP Note related to this problem? Thanks.
Regards,

Hi Vasu,
ORA-4031... for 99%  of cases this means one thing:
the database instance is not configured correctly.
To proceed, do the following:
1. get rid of init.ora (it's not used at all)
2. make sure that the init<sid>.ora file is really used.
If there is a spfile in the %ORACLE_HOME&/database folder
       then this will be used.
3. With your  configured shared pool of 85MB your memory should really not be filled up - anyhow it's really too small for a SAP system!
Thus I'd check how much memory the other sga-area members (buffer cache, large pool, streams pool, java pool...) take up.
Remember on Windows 32 Bit, everything runs in one single process that can only allocate 2GB (or 3GB if you've set this option).
See note:
<a href="https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=869006&_NLANG=E">#869006 - Composite SAP note: ORA-04031</a>
for more on this.
And when you're setting up parameters anyway, check note

• ORA-12560 while installing database 11g  11..1.0.7.0 on Windows 2008 server

This started with an install of Oracle Financials that failed and led me to the discovery that I can't even install a generic database on this machine, the two issues are certainly related.
Why would I get this failure on a clean install???
Is there a problem with the computer being a domain controler or called Sampson-II ?
Thanks in advance.

Hardware Xeon processor 8 G of memory
Runing db as 32 byte
Software Windows server 2008 SP2
I'm not seeing any conflict with other prerequisites or tasks that need to be executed before the install is done.
The listener installs but when the database is to be installed, it fails.
Below is the install log. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

• Require script or a method to Run .exe files on target computers using task scheduler or any other Windows server intigrated tool

Hi All,
We are outsourcing services to our clients. One of our clients whom we manage the whole Active directory / Exchange 2010 infrastructure have a requirement.
We would like to run a .exe file from one server to another server / servers remotely to generate a report. The challenge is that we do not have permissions on some servers to access so we cannot login manually and run the .exe file to generate that report.
(All are in the same domain restricted or non restricted)
The domain Administrator (Client) Has restricted us to login to those servers due to security reasons. And is not providing us permissions or not giving the username and password to login to those servers.
Requirement is :
To run a .exe file with some parameters in it on the restricted servers Via powershell script or task scheduler (As the task will be created by the domain admin in the server in which we have access by entering the domain account).
As we have to run this .exe file on around 60 servers (restricted) so an option should popup asking the name of the agent in which you want to RUN the .exe file or a source input via CSV will also be fine.
Can anyone tell me or can this be possible ? Is there any one who has made such a script.
Can anyone please help.

Hi Justin,
Thank you for the suggestion.
Below is the script what i Executed.
"C:\Windows\system32\PsExec.exe" @C:\HPS\Serverrlist.txt cmd /C "server name\C$\hps\hps.EXE"
Pause
I tried using PSExec. But in the LAB domain as well as in the production i tried this on servers in which i have full access. When i execute this i get the output as Access is denied. Below is the screenshot of the Error.
I have installed Psexec on both machines.
I have full admin rights to the shared folder or network location which i have scratched in the screenshot. Not sure why i am getting this error.
Also analysed the event logs and found a failure event once i execute this script.

Hello Dorohidea,
Do you mean that when you install crystal report in virtual studio 2010, you receive the error message about error 1310?
Please take a look at the following KB.

Open Registry Editor.
In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
Create the following value (REG_SZ): Working Directory and give it a value that points to the new database folder.
Make sure you back up the registry before you do any changes on it.
