Set default mouse speed for guest user?

Anyone know how, where to set a default mouse speed for all users. I have an iMac running Maverick. I set my personal mouse speed near the highest. The default speed is the same slow pace for the guest profile and I would like to change and KEEP it a little faster. Currently when I log out of guest account, all settings, files, etc are deleted. I am admin so ... anyone? Help? Something akin to the windows registry? I'm a newbie to Mac OS X, but learn quick.

Setting different mouse speed for different mice

I have an Apple Magic Mouse that I've used with my iMac for a while. I recently picked up a wireless Kensington laptop mouse for my 4 year-old twins to use because the Magic Mouse is difficult for my daughter to use. The Kensington mouse is good because it is smaller and has two obvious buttons for her to use.
The problem is that the Kensington mouse tracks way faster than the Magic Mouse. Is there a way (either through preferences or third party software) to set a custom speed for each mouse?

USB OverDrive can customize speeds and button behaviouir differently for different input devices. You should remove the Kensington mouse driver. However it does look as if it disables Apple's own Magic Mouse drivers without replacing some of the facilities, so you would need to research that before proceeding.
Also note that USB OverDrive is so far not compatible with the Magic Trackpad, and prevents the latter's Prefs Pane from loading (thus preventing you setting gestures) so if you were thinking of getting a Magic TrackPad, USB Overdrive isn't a good purchase.

Setting default printing presets for all users, esp. guest user

i want to set black/white, two sided printing as the default for all users (9 macs, 30 users on each).
i set up and save this preset as admin, and copy the files
com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.nameofprinter.plist
from admin home/library/preferences to the other users preferences-folders.
but logging on to any of the other users, i still dont even get the new preset listed.
i tried entering cups, but there, only the printer setup is editable.
especially i would like to set the custom preset as default for the guest account, without being wiped every log off.
is there any alternative way to do this? i dont want to manually log in to the 300 accounts to change this.

You can do that for new users via a file user.js in the default template folder for new profiles.

How can I set default toolbar layout for all users in my system?

Hi everybody! I am running a local ubuntu server at my office. I can set some defaults preferences (about:config) for all new users in the system by defining those prefs in the /etc/firefox/syspref.js.
Now, I want to define default toolbar layout in a similar way (maybe not needed but fun), to copy the toolbar layout for my user. Is there a general way to do that?

You can try to create a default template folder (defaults/profile) in the Firefox and place the file(s) in that folder for newly created profile.
The only way to customize an existing profile is to copy files directly to it.

Set default Parameter ids for the users

You can fill fields on screens with default values from SAP memory using parameter IDs. It is the same as SPA and GPA.
Parameter IDs are stored in the table TPARA. They can be created from SE80. Choose Edit Object->Choose tabstrip "More" and then choose the radiobutton Set/Get Parameter ID
Below example is from SAP Help.
For example, a user only has authorization for company code 0001. By entering the value '0001' in field COCD in the Parameter register in this user’s master record (SU01), the system automatically fills the field Company code with the value ‘0001’ on all screens he or she calls. If this company code is not predetermined using a parameter ID in the user master record, the system automatically adopts the first value entered by the user at the beginning of the transaction for the rest of the current terminal session. However, this value has to be re-entered the next time the user logs on to the system.

How to configure default parental settings for all users (10.7)?

I've made a silent installation of iTunes using MSI files and it works well.
I need to enable parental controls and configure it. Users must be preventing of changing these settings.
At the end of the iTunes installation I automatically created registry keys :

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2102 it is the procedure to set default parental settings for all users and to lock these settings.
When iTunes is first launched, parental settings are not set nor locked.
I use iTunes 64 bits on Windows 7 64 bits.
Where is the mistake?

How do I set the default welcome page for PUBLIC user

i'm using -
Oracle 9i Database
Oracle 9ias Portal Release 2
QUESTION => how do I set the default welcome page for the PUBLIC user.
i did the following to achieve this -
1. logged into portal
2. clicked on builder
3. clicked on administer tab
4. selected PUBLIC user in the Portal User Profile portlet
5. went to the preferences tab
6. in the default home page selected a custom page group
7. logged out of portal
8. open a new browsere session
9. type the portal URL and i get the login page ....??
i'm unable to understand this behavior ... shouldn't i be getting the page group that i set for the PUBLIC user in step 6 above ....
the second QUESTION is => when the user logs out he/she should see the PUBLIC page set in step 6 above ... but, instead the user sees a page that is as follows -

Hi,
The sequence of operation you are doing to set the home page for public users is correct. You are getting the login screen as the "custom page group" selected as "home page" has not been granted to public.
Also, while logging-out, it is normal behaviour to get the screen where it shows the list of partner applications from where user has been logged-out. When you click on "Return" button, you will get to the "home page" set above.

How to set different default interactive reports for different user groups?

I'm probably overlooking an obvious solution, but how do I set different default interactive report for different user groups?
For the same interactive report, I want one set of users to see a default where the default filter is based on column X. However, another group of users doesn't have authorization to see that column so I need to set the default filter to something else for them.

You can set a filter on a report in a URL - would that help? I think with apex 4.x you can also link to a saved default report or alternative report...

OpenNewWindow for Guest Users?

In the PTConfig.xml, I set OpenNewWindow=1 which should launch Knowledge Directory documents into a new window. Restarted IIS after the modification, but this does not seem to work for Guest users (or any users that I've encountered). The comment indicates that the user personal preference overrides this setting. If I modify and save the Document Display Options, the behavior is changed but this is not even possible with a Guest user.
Ideas?

I understand that updating the Default Profile will only affect users created after that change is made.
The user account I am concerned with at this point is the Guest account. Right now the only public access to our portal is through the unauthenticated Guest access.
I have updated the Guest user's account and selected the option to open documents in a new window for the Guest user. But when accessing the Knowledge Directory as the Guest user, the documents are still opening in the same/current window.
BTW - We are running 5.0.4

Steps:
Tried to set default dashboard for all the users.
1. Created a session init block
2. Used data source as select '/shared/SH Test/_portal/Test1' from dual
3. Assigned this value to PORTALPATH session variable
4. In Presentation services > Administration > My account > Default dashboard should be set to 'default'. Then only the dashboard specified in init block will be displayed otherwise My account will override the init block.
5. Save the changes made to rpd.
5. Logout and relogin to see if it is working fine. it is working perfectly fine.

if customer would like to have user/group based home page.
1. They may need to have 2 separate tables.
i. Group_path_tab with 2 columns. Group_id, portal_path
Have group wise portal path for all the groups
ii. User-group map table
Group_id, Group_name, user_id
User should be part of some group.
2. Then in the init block write the sql should be something like this
select A.portal_path from Group_path_tab A, User_group_map B
where B.user_id = :USER
and B.Group_id = A.Group_id
SO based on USER session variable, it will try to identify the group and then the portal_path.
Finally assign this value to PORTALPATH session variable.

Regional Settings for Guest User

I am trying to display an Excel spreadsheet stored in SharePoint (via OneDrive for Business) using Excel online. I want the dates displayed in UK format (DD/MM/YY). The SharePoint site settings are set for English UK and the correct date is displayed
for a user defined in SharePoint. However, if a guest user accesses the spreadsheet, the dates are displayed in MM/DD/YY format. How do I change this so that it is displayed correctly for Guest Users?

what is the web application date time settings? as they are anonymous then they don't have an individual
regional setting. I don't think you can do what you want without a lot of custom programming.

Changing the default keyboard language for all users via command line

I have about 250 computers, that I set the wrong default language on.
I am hoping someone here can help me. I have 3 keyboard languages installed in my labs,
En-English (United States)
Fr-French (Canada)

I'd like to make the Fr-French (Canada) the default keyboard language for all users that login I have tried the following xml but it's not working. I do not see the problem any help would be appreciated.

How to the remember language choice for Guest Users? You cannot save perferences in Guest user, but the default language is not desired.

If you are using the Win8 WDK or later, you should be able to use a very limited C++ and the tools will flag constructs that are not supported. The discussions you found are mostly still valid, there is no new and delete (unless you roll your

Setting Default Decimal Notation with ISA User Admin

I have been trying to find out how I can select a default decimal notation when creating users via ISA User Admin. My client wishes the default notation to be 1,234,567.89.

The problem is that customers will be creating their own users via Web Based User Management. Currently the only way we can amend the decimal notation is via SU01. This, then, would have to happen for every user because the default notation is not the one we require. My question is - is there a way of setting the default decimal notation for each user so we do not need to manually amend each user in SU01.
